This is a planing thread for future (once I recover) RP I promised to some people. Many of us became sick of poorly planed roleplays that usually ended in huge OOC argument, therefore aiming to develop an open RP that will influence the entire II subforum in huge amount, and at the same time would not only test the new RPing concepts that are to be considered, but also provide proper amounts of fun for us all.
"Breakup of Kastavania" is addressed to aspiring roleplayers who want to sharpen their skills, as well as good ones aiming to have a proper roleplay. The main goal of the RP is to simulate balkanisation process of a fictional county, breaking down under pressure of ethnic, political and religious factors and fracturing into smaller states. The fracture will be accompanied by large scale warfare between multiple ethnic groups, political conflicts, ethnic cleansing, as well as courage, bravery and self - sacrifice for others.
MAJOR TRAITS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS RP:
- Hybrid Warfare: We have to understand that combat in this RP will be conducted by small amount of "regular" units combined with hordes of ethnic militiamen on every side - even on the side of the central government, due to the fact that the NKK (Nazionel Kombater dla Kastavania - Kastavanian Army) will quickly decay due to it's pre - breakdown issues such as corruption, low morale, poor state of equipment, and insufficient level of training, and even the Central government will, as the time progresses, more and more rely on Ethnic Kastavanian militias than on the army, which barely holds itself together. Although the Kastavanian state was pretty prosperous before 2004, since 2004 huge scale economical crisis is pushing it deeper and deeper, finally facilitating the breakdown.
Due to threat of the Zadimian invasion, the government created several "Territorial Defense Units", mistakenly thinking that giving lesser amount of armaments to various ethnic groups would make them not strong enough to fight the NKK, while still keeping them capable of conducting common defense against eventual threat coming from Zadimia. This policy failed, and now the Territorial Defense forces, alongside eventual aid from foreign "volunteers" and PMCs will become core of newly formed irregular forces loyal to whatever political organism they declared their loyalty.
HUGE MAJORITY OF YOUR FORCES WILL BE UNDER - EQUIPPED ETHNIC MILITIAS! FORGET ABOUT MAJESTIC AIR BATTLES, COMBAT BETWEEN CARRIER GROUPS OR BATTLES OF TANK HORDES - THIS IS NOT THIS RP! MOST OF THEM WILL BE ARMED IN ARMS ASSIGNED TO TERRITORIAL DEFENSE FORCES, LEFTOVERS FROM GOVERNMENTAL FORCES, FOREIGN AID (WHICH WOULD HAVE TO BE RPED TO BE DELIVERED) AND IMPROVISED WEAPONRY!
OPEN FOREIGN INTERVENTION IS NOT ALLOWED AT THIS POINT. ALL INTERVENTIONS HAVE TO BE LIMITED AND COVERED, THOUGH POSSIBLE IN THE FUTURE!

The RPing is to be realistic. Here are basic guidelines on how it should be done:
- WAR RP RULES
The use of nuclear weapons: (Y/N): NO
The use of biological, chemical or other WMD weapons: (Y/N): YES
The use of EMP: (Y/N): NO
Predetermined ORBAT?: (Y/N): YES. ORBAT should be attached to every post that involves movement of the troops, and should include their size and organization.
Maps: (Compulsory): YES (To as much degree as possible or needed, military RPing should be backed by maps).
What end state do you wish to achieve?: Frankly this is mostly open to discussion, but certainly, many of the parts will get independence.
Adherence to 'Geneva Code'/'Hague Convention'?: (My preference: NO): NO. This war is explosion of ethnic hatred between several nations. I have to specify here that you do not have to RP "all bad" or "all good" - in every group will be good and bad. For example while one Nihonjin militia will be pretty moderate, another one will be far more extremist in it's methods, which, after several massacres, will result in it's entire command being assassinated and it's forces incorporated into previous one.
NS MT or RL MT: Hard MT.
Total War/Limited War?: Both possible depending on location and circumstances.
Should we control weather?: Weather should be set by common consensus, if the sides can't find it they should refer to the OP.
How fast should we pace this RP?: Slow pace, one post a week per RPer.
- Political depth - This has to be noted, I want to create deep, developed and believeable scenario, thus I encourage all participants to actually develop their factions in as big depth as they can. Develop both how they view various political issues connected with independence, borders, culture etc.
I have also to note that many RPers in here do not have to be here for the military stuff. One can as much likely join it to RP political or diplomatic stuff - for example roleplay investigators chasing the war crimes, ethnic cleansing and human rights abuses committed by several paramilitary groups, or simply be journalists reporting on everything happening in here.
Journalism will play a high role in this series. People are actively encouraged to make News Threads this style) to post their articles in. As much as only few people will be involved in actual combat, I want the entire II to be able to hear this story and respond to it - at least in words
.- OOC cooperation and proper code of conduct: I am sick of all this OOC warfare, thus I am making this thread. Sufficient to say, if you are entering in here, you are expected to behave properly. Whining because one is loosing, meme spam, pointless debates about morality of one's actions, personal arguments and attacks WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND WILL RESULT IN BAN FROM THIS RP, AND IN CASE OF SAID RPER RPING AN INTERNAL FACTION, SAID FACTION BEING GIVEN TO SOMEBODY ELSE!!!
You are expected to be cooperative and fair to others in this thread. Approach them with respect, never use any insulting words, never engage in arguments, when you see a troll inform the OP, and COOPERATE WITH THE OTHERS. If you have a dilemma, feel free to ask me or anybody else in this thread with knowledge to provide you with feedback.
Remember that lack of knowledge about certain military areas does not make them not function like they do IRL! If you lack military knowledge, there are plenty of people who would eagerly help you with this stuff, even like me myself.
To note finally: The RP IC wise will last from June 2015 (when the crisis will begin) and end somewhere in 2018. It will not be one thread; but rather several, generallly each one for separate RSC, + various diplomatic stuff, news threads, etc.
