New Sea Ports to be built in the Caribbean
Days after gaining control of the Caribbeans the Eristian government has started building new sea ports to help boost commerce and trade with other nations. The new sea port is expected to be 50%completed by the end of this year. Private companies have already started making plans for oil refineries and tobacco plantations. Those are expected to be 50% completed by the end of next year. Ships shall be allowed to enter and exit easily. Many tourists and Eristians are expected to clamor to the newly annexed Caribbeans by the time the sea porta are completed.

Conquest of Southern Luzon

After the decisive victory against the Loyalist-American fleet, the Banksian Army continued it's campaign.

As the Filipino Army scrambled to get anything done, General MacArthur led 250,000 of his 270,000 strong 4th Operational Group to parts of Southern Luzon. This time, however, radar and intelligence found the enemies were prepared.

In order to soften up the enemy, GB-IVs launched a wide array of missile strikes on the Filipinos, who had primitive technology and weak anti-aircraft defenses. The strikes killed and wounded about 3,000 enemy soldiers. Next, battleships, cruisers, and destroyers launched a massive bombardment with guns of all calibers, pounding the enemy positions. In a notable event, the Cruiser The Hamptons launched a shell which exploded an enemy ammunition load, sending it right up into the sky!

Then, with the enemy positions in flames and most of them dead, General MacArthur landed his forces, and his AFVs and machine gunners destroyed the remaining enemy positions, and then, he marched onto the southern part of the Island. Now, Southern Luzon is secured, and next comes Manila...

The Utachian Fall Anniversary was both an exciting and a sad day. It brought back memories, memories almost too painful to think about. Nova Auraluxia had killed many in their attack, and refugees, including my colleagues and I, have suffered until the founding of this new nation, the new Utopia Beach. It is sad to think of our father nation's fall, but we will learn from our mistakes; we will evolve; and we will survive! Right now, the only way to do that would be with alliances, especially those with Grandes Terres. We will send them gifts, as they have sent us. There will be 100 bottles of wine from the Jerez de la Frontera region, mostly from Emilio Lustau. These wines are famous throughout the world, for the majority of Spain's economy relies on wine. The wines were usually reserved for special occasions, but what was more a special occasion than the reestablishment of a friendship that had burned? Also sent will be various assorted fish, caught off the shores of Morocco and Portugal. They can be made into very rare delicacies, with much flavor. A last minute addition were two sets of clay pots, plates, cups, and bowls, both painted by the most skilled artists and Utopia Beach. One shows the Utachian history, with its start in the Caribbean, its fall at the hands of Nova Auraluxia, and its rise again in these Mediterranean lands. The other set shows the Grandes Terresian history, with its start as an empire in South America, its conquer of the rest of South America and much of Oceania, and then it in the lands of Australia and New Zealand. A two-person ambassador team will be sent, known throughout Utopia Beach for their ability to keep international friendships for as long as possible. They are Rico Ramires and Teresita Salazar. I send these all with the hope that we will become two nations, almost united in a very strong friendship.

I left the mainland Utopia Beach immediately after Mr. Marcelino's speech. I came here, to the island Majorca of the Canary Islands, because it reminded me of my home before the cruel attack of Nova Auraluxia. I cannot bear to think of that day, that day that determined the future of all in Utopia Beach. The Utachian Fall Anniversary is supposed to be a happy day, a day to celebrate that we all survived the attack, but all I could feel is anger. Nova Auraluxia wrongfully took those lands during those years, and I would not just sit back and let them do it to other nations as well. That's why I submitted a proposal to Parliament to put place a tariff on ships passing through the Strait of Gibraltar, which is surrounded by Utachian lands, and is in Utachian waters. No more would troops be going freely through Utachian waters to wreak havoc on other nations. All ships passing through would have to pay a steep 27% of their goods and profits to Utopia Beach. It was the perfect compromise; other nations wouldn't be ravaged by troops passing through those lands, and all citizens of Utopia Beach would get a little bit richer, thanks to our extensive welfare service. I sighed and relaxed. If I knew one thing, it was that no troops, and, by extension, boats with goods for trade, would be able to go through Utachian waters without paying the price.

I grew up taught that socialism stole from those that actually worked, and gave to those that didn't, but I've lived in socialist nations, both the historic and new Utopia Beach, all of my life. I started to think, maybe my father was wrong, maybe socialism isn't so bad. Then the Utachian Fall Anniversary came, and I remembered, and I saw it with my own eyes. A taxcollector, notable for their uniform, walked right by someone who had clearly been too lazy to work, and sleeping all day, and walked straight towards one who had just gotten their first break in hours, walking straight out of a busy restaurant wearing their logo on their shirt. The taxcollector immediately took their paycheck, and gave it to the sleeping person, who didn't even wake up! This nation was going to die again if we didn't change our system! And that's exactly what I planned to do. I would follow in my father's footsteps, making this nation fair!

After the Utachian Fall Anniversary, crime rates have gone done substantially, as they always do. I think even criminals honor their survival of Nova Auraluxia's attack. Today was a day I could finally relax, the opposite of what my colleagues had to do, with stacks of work piling on. Then again, I always get more cases than they do letters and complaints most of the rest of the year, so I guess it was pretty fair. I worked on a side project of mine, one I had thought about for years, but just started yesterday, during the time of honor and respect. It was almost done, and, when it is done, it will be beautiful, representing our nation in ways never before thought of. I was so excited. I tuned out everything, focusing every single thought and action on my project. It would be the best of all things.

The USS Forestrel shall be,placed into battle against the Many governments in the Caribbean when Nova Auralaxia gives the Eristian military 1million AKs to combat the Caribbean governments. As Asleau sees the manufacturing of many new rifles, it wants to compete in the arms race, releasing their M-16. The M-16 will be the standard rifleman's weapon in all branches of the Military. The M-16, being fairly cheap to produce, has gone into full production. The M-16 can also be used an marksman rifle. The rifle also comes in many variants, using a spectrum of scopes, rails, triggers, springs, and bolts.

OOC: The M16 didn't exist until 1962. The AR-15 (A scaled down version of the AR-10) was first designed in 1956. In 1961, ten of them were sent to Vietnam for testing. In 1962, 1,000 more were sent. The AR-15 was adopted for military service in 1962 after some modifications, and was named the M16.

Even if you developed the AR-15, you'd be basically skipping the AR-10 which came before it.

[Seventh Oblivion]

The New Empire
January 19th, 1960.
Day 1 of the New Reign.

A cold winter breeze fluttered windows open and made the velvet curtains sway. Dismal light flooded into the interrogation room from a tiny window near the ceiling. An unconscious man was strapped into an electric chair. Nobody could hear him scream through the sound proof walls. Two Sevanian military guards stood by the door, their rifles pointed at the man's head. One of the guards gave the interrogator the signal and he got up from his chair. He approached the other man and grinned.

"I don't want his blood on my fingers." he cackled.

One of the guards rushed forward with a knuckle duster. The man slipped it over his fingers and laughed even more.

"Not many people in this world understand true justice, do they?" he croaked.

In one quick movement, the knuckle duster connected with the side of the other man's jaw. He jerked awake and screamed in pain. A stream of blood trickled down his face. Another punch slammed into his face. The interrogator smiled at him.

"Did you sleep well Mr. Zagridev?" he asked, mocking him.

The man clearly had a broken jaw. He spurred out a flurry of words and went limp. The interrogator hit him in the other side of the face. The man started twitching in the electric chair.

"You know why you are here, don't you?" asked the interrogator.

The man gave a quick nod, unable to speak.

"You don't have to worry about your own life now. To us, you are already dead. As far as I'm concerned, I'll treat you like a corpse." he whispered.

The metal door behind them opened, revealing the Emperor himself. Jorgen Iborvich strolled into the room holding a machete. He didn't show any emotion whatsoever, other than an emerging smirk across his face. His eyes were cold and blue, like his vibe. The interrogator immediately dropped to his knees, the guards followed tradition. They got back to their feet and bowed to him. He spoke in rushed Russian to the guards and held the machete in his fingers. Jorgen wore a thick black overcoat and a terribly serious expression on his face.

"Well. What did he do?" he asked. His voice told the interrogator that he was not messing around. Another freezing breeze passed through the window, a guard ran to shut it as the Emperor sighed in boredom.

"Emperor, this man is believed to have plotted against you and the empire several times. He may have been caught importing illegal weaponry into the country many times before," he quivered.

Jorgen looked blankly at the man. He knew what he was about to do was evil, but no superior officer of his could show fear in front of him, it was against the empire to be afraid of your leader. Treason. The interrogator stuttered madly as he tried to explain the situation. Jorgen towered over both men at nearly 6" 7. He grabbed the interrogator by the scruff of his neck and smashed him into the cold tiled floor. He grunted as the guards took a step back. He coughed and stood to his feet.

"Why does this man have blood running down his face?" he asked, already angry.

One of the guards retrieved the knuckle duster and showed it to the Emperor. He looked down at it in disgust and threw it to the floor.

"Mr. Valyenshov. Tell me, is it or is it not against the country to harm a suspect based on unclear 'believed' evidence?"

The interrogator looked down in shame. "It is." he replied.

"Okay then. Swap with the man in the chair. Now!" He grabbed him again and flung him into the wall. A bruise had already formed under his eye.

The guards dragged the man towards the chair and strapped him in. Jorgen picked his machete up of the floor and ran his index finger along it. A sharp cut formed on the end of his finger as blood seeped through it.

"Time to experience real pain. You are sentenced to execution, guilty by treason to the empire," he said.

The interrogator sobbed and cried as he sat in the chair. Jorgen rubbed his blood all over his face and sealed the wound on his finger.

"Now you know how it feels to be the tortured," he said. "But more is to come. Get uncomfortable."

Jorgen crouched beside him and ordered for the other man to be released. The guards slowly supported him out of the room.

"Just you and me, buddy."

Jorgen sliced his right index finger clean off with the machete, blood spurted out of his finger like a fountain. Jorgen laughed.
He moved onto the next middle finger and sliced that one clean off as well. The interrogator bellowed in pain and shook uncontrollably in the chair. Eventually, all ten of his fingers lay strewn over the floor, covered in blood. All that was left, were ten stumps of flesh hanging off his hand.

"Now for your death."

Jorgen balanced the machete across the man's arms and walked to the electricity generator connected to the chair. He inspected the different levels, but instantly decided which one he would be using. The colours got brighter as he went up the scale, stopping at 'lethal.'

He slowly cranked the scale up until the man was shaking wildly.

"Nice, isn't it? The rush is good for you," he mocked.

Foam seeped through the man's lips as he lost his life. His body went limp, but his limbs kept shaking. Jorgen waited for him to go completely silent and finally stopped the machine. He walked back up to the interrogator, now the criminal, and whispered a short and simple sentence into his ear.

"The New Empire will rise without you, the flags have already been lifted. Have fun in hell."

OOC: First of all, you're wrong. Second, and last of all, The M16 was planned in '56, it was manufactured, meaning made (and tested), in '59, then, in '62 it was commissioned. However, you are right about the magazines, thank you for notifying me.

The Times

Manila Conquered, Puppet Installed

After General MacArthur's quick and easy conquest of Southern Luzon, his army marched forward. Forward they went, and only the most puny resistance was found. At one point during the march, a significant force of 2,500 Filipinos tried to commence a counter attack, which was quickly defeated by Wiesel Armored Vehicles and machine gunners, who mowed them down mercilessly.

Before MacArthur could get to Manila, Central Intelligence Agency Brigade Commander James Ford was airdropped over Manila with a group of 100 agents dressed as Filipino troops. They split up, 40 went out to control the police station, 30 went to take over the main factories, 18 went to take other important areas, and 12 went to the main government building, which was guarded heavily, although the guards were fooled.

''Hehe, we are going to get them'' said a young private to Brigadier Ford. ''Ssshh'' A group of 20 Filipino guards looked suspiciously at them, although the group managed to get through. A signal was given by the Banksian Commander to attack the guards which happened quickly, with silent pistols and with knifes, the Filipinos were killed. The bodies were then hidden in a small laundry room, and the force continued up the stairs to the HQ with the Filipino President.

They walked in, immediately shot both guards who cried in pain while the Filipino President hit an alert button, but it was too late. The 12 Banksians came in, and pointed their guns at the Filipino, who put his hands up. The room was then sealed up, and all enemies attempting to get in were shot dead.

When General MacArthur got into the city, he was saddened that General Ford had beaten him to the punch, although he took the loss gracefully. This capture made all the Filipino Islands surrender, yet, there were almost no military forces remaining anyway.

Afterwards, II Corps General Milton Bradley was declared President, and a parliament enslaved to GreatestBanks was established. Now, the country is a Banksian Protectorate.

The time had finally come for Utopia Beach to choose its national symbols. Starting with a national animal, to represent Utopia Beach throughout the world. There were two nominees:

• Bull: A male bovine animal, which is very strong and fast. Their horns, located at the top of their heads, can be used for both defense and offense. They are usually located in the Iberian Peninsula in Utopia Beach.
  
  The bull got 51% of the votes.
• Lion: A large wild cat that lives in prides with other lions and lionesses. they have a shaggy mane, and are very powerful when it comes to hunting. They are usually located in Utachian African lands.
  
  The lion got 49% of the votes.

After an almost tie, it has been decided that the bull will be the national animal of Utopia Beach.
Next is the flag of Utopia Beach, based loosely off the one of the historic Utopia Beach, with olive branches, to represent our pacifism, our national animal, and the blue, white, and green stripes, which respectively represent the oceans surrounding the nation, the welcomed uncertainty of the future, and the eco-friendliness and environmental beauty of the nation. The sickle and hammer, symbols of socialism were added, to show our socialist beliefs, as well as the symbol of democracy, to show that we are a socialist democratic nation, instead of a socialist dictatorship, since a common misconception is that all socialist nations are dictatorships.

Utopia Beach also has a national logo, which has the colors of the flag, the red star, the symbol of democracy, the national animal (the bull), and an olive branch to represent the pacifism.

The Eristian Military will be in battle against the many Militaries in the Caribbean
After Eristia declared war against The Caribbean and mobilized 400000 soldiers the Caribbean militaries have also mobilised their troops but have only been able to mobilise 87500 soldiers. The Eristian battle regimet consisting of 150000 soldiers is expected to reach Cuba by next year.

Progress in Algeria!

The five corps of the French-Helenstedian Foreign Legion has made very good progress over the past few months, as winter comes to the Helenstedian mainland, the brave Legionnaires will have to spend Christmas in Africa. The First Consul of Helensted, Olivier Constantine however states that the war will be over in no time due to Algeria's population largely supporting the French-Helenstedian movement, and the superiority and capability of the French-Helenstedian Foreign Legion compared to the Algerian contrary.

Immediately after landing near the city of Oran, Oran declared itself an open city to the French-Helenstedian invaders, and our forces successfully captured 50,000 Algerian soldiers inside. After setting up command centers inside Oran, three French-Helenstedian corps of 50,000 men each and 1,000 Ramure Is and M60 FGB-IVs embarked on blitzkrieg through the Algerian north and are expected to reach the capital of Algiers by the start of next year and force a quick surrender to the Algerian government. One of the two corps left over embarked to Laghouat accompanied by 500 tanks in an effort to completely cut off Algiers from the rest of Algeria.

So far the Algerian defense has been completely useless, and as the Independent Hazerls did long ago against our sister in the east, the Algerians are surrendering once the French-Helenstedian Foreign Legion knocks at their gates. As of now Olivier Constantine's words of a quick war seem almost definite.

To be made clear, they(Asleau and Helensted) have both expressed their feeling on the future generations of their weapons, and neither country will be allowed use of the evolved weapons.

Today a fleet of ships set sail from Darwin en route to the waters around the Horn Of Africa to patrol the waters and destroy any pirate vessels trying to commandeer Grandes Terresian or Utachian cargo ships. It is known to the Grandes Terresian government that the pirates originate from the poor African nation of Somalia and a vote is going to be held in parliament on whether to send GTS Océano Dominancia our new Supercarrier with 90 new Fantasma fighter jets to the coast of Somalia to conduct reconnaissance missions on Somalian ports to intercept Somalian pirates before they reach any cargo ships.

Grandes Terres declares "war on illegal immigration"

Today a vote in parliament was passed to increase our nations security from illegal immigrants introducing a new "turn around" policy declaring that any illegal immigrants caught in Grandes Terresian waters will be escorted out of our national waters no matter the condition of their vessel aswell as this this any illegal immigrants caught in Grandes Terres Immigration and Customs (GTIC) will be flown back to their nation of origin at their own expense or the expense of their government. This new action has been critiqued by immigrants living in Grandes Terres one saying:

Algerian Surrender and Annexation!

As the opening months of 1961 unfolded the brave men and women of the French Foreign Legion fought for God, Consul, and Country in the deserts of Algeria in a mission to liberate the Frenchmen who have been living under a tyrannical Sunni government ever since the secession of Algeria from the French Union of Helensted. After seven months of combat and an uneventful opening of ground combat following the "Battle of the Saharan Skies" (November, 1960) but the war has finally come to an epic conclusion. This article of Helensted Weekly will provide detailed information of the final months of the war following the capture of 50,000 Algerian soldiers in Oran.

As covered before, after Oran the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Foreign Legion (FL) Corps accompanied by many FGB-IV and Ramure I tanks. This large detachment of 150,000 French-Helenstedian soldiers blitzed through the North of Algeria until they reached the gates of Algiers, which they besieged for the Algerian resistance of 225,000 soldiers outnumbered the French-Helenstedian attack. At this time the 4th FL Corps was scheduled to take Laghouat to relieve the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd FL Corps in the north. It was near the city of Tiaret that the 50,000 Legionnaires, 3,000 Ferret light armoured trucks, and 500 heavy armoured vehicles (FGB-IVs + Ramure Is) were ambushed by a final Algerian attempt to stop the French-Helenstedian advance. Approximately 100,000 Algerian soldiers loyal to the Sunni government poured out of Tiaret accompanied by an outdated assortment of 1,000 Char B1 bis tanks and Panhard 178s. The 4th Foreign Legion Corps readied a quick defense of makeshift trenches and sandbag bunkers and prepared to defend against the Algerian counterattack as news reached them of the massive advance and in the first major battle of the war called "The Battle of Tiaret," (December, 1960) the French-Helenstedian 4th FL Corps held the makeshift defensive against all odds over the course of four days. Final estimates for casualties in the "Battle of Tiaret" are estimated to be 10,000 French-Helenstedian Legionnaires and 50 lost armoured vehicles compared to the 65,000 Algerian casualties and 600 lost armoured vehicles on the Algerian-Sunni contrary. A day after the "Battle of Tiaret," the First Consul himself spoke to the public in a now popular speech and coined the famous words of "...our ancestors have always told us that the Helenstedian stag prances no matter the forest. In this case the Helenstedian stag will continue to prance in the deserts of Algeria as well as the grasses at home."

After the "Battle of Tiaret," the French-Helenstedian 4th Foreign Legion Corp continued toward Laghouat and finally captured the city without resistance. The French-Helenstedian citizens of Laghouat cheered as the French-Helenstedian 4th FL Corp liberated them from the tyrannical hands of the Sunni government of Algeria. After the liberation of Laghouat a period of no fighting ensued, for the siege of Algiers was still in process and further advance was halted until it actually ended. Due to the fact that the French-Helenstedian Foreign Legion wanted the French-Helenstedian citizens inside the city of Algiers to not die of starvation, the siege lasted longer than most in modern combat, but soon enough the 150,000 men of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd FL Corps stormed the city unexpectedly in the "Battle of Algiers" (February 1961). In the largest battle of the War of Algerian Liberation, 30,000 French-Helenstedian soldiers were killed compared to a staggering number of 100,000 on the Algerian contrary. 125,000 Algerian soldiers were also captured as a result of the battle.

On the historic date of the 25th of February the Algerian-Sunni government surrendered to the government of Helensted and gave up all rights to the Algerian government. French-Helenstedian natives across Algeria rejoiced as Algeria once again became a Helenstedian province from it's new capital, Constantine. Constantine was chosen as the capital of French-Helenstedian Algeria to honor the First-Consul of Helensted, Olivier Constantine, who is now seen as "the Restorer" of Helensted's African region.
