Yes nuke Yymea again and give us a tiny container of that gas to be used against our enemies.

OOC: The reason that you can't have everyone be a soldier is because then you have no one to run the rest of society. You don't have farmers to feed your soldiers, manufacturers to give them weapons, and you don't have any store owners or traders to make money so you can buy your supplies from other countries. Usually a nation will only have 1-5% of their population be in the military, otherwise it begins to hurt the economy. Look at China, they have over a billion people in their country, but don't have a military larger than 5 million.

IC:
Ymean Divisionary Border
Drakorvanyian ranks were beginning to swell with new recruits from the Ymean militia, and reinforcements from the fatherland, which had to arrive by sea. That is, so long as Dominion ships allowed them to pass. However, the last head count racked up the number 20,000, more than twice the previous amount of stationed soldiers. However, even with this bolstered number, there was little to no incursion into HMG territory. Treaties had been broken and it seemed as though the cease fire was off.

There was still that very large HMG army, though, which was camped just infront of the Drakorvanyian position. All Commanding Officer Addila could do was strengthen the defenses. More trenches, mines, and machine guns were being put in place. Rumor in the ranks was that 1,500 big guns were on the way, as well as some number or anti-air weapons.

OOC: Okay, you are oficially CO-OP, because I am a terrible OP, and I don't like ignoring people. And the star wars stuff was pretty silly.

You are not a bad OP. Inexperienced yes, but that's not really a true fault as everyone was new at some point to the whole RP scene. Use this as a learning experience, and grow from it. :)

Some helpful advice when hosting future threads:

- Set a tech limit in the thread header. Common techs are Past Tech (PT), Modern Tech (MT), Post Modern Tech (PMT), and Future Tech (FT). This way, if you say want a modern RP, adding the MT header will let players know that this isn't the thread to be bringing in say space ships and space marines. This thread I assumed when joining, was a MT thread based upon the pictures and description posted in the first few pages. Which is why I'm having a hard time agreeing with certain people in this thread who are using clone armies and tie fighters....

- Don't be afraid to lay out rules in the OP as well, for how you would like players to conduct themselves in the thread. It's actually a pretty common things to do really, and here is an example to a war thread I've done in the past for a visual idea of what I mean here.

- Lastly, remember that RP's here on NS are supposed to be about collectively telling a story. You shouldn't be afraid to interact with people both via TG and openly about the ebb and flow of the RP. Remember, it's not all about winning, and the more experienced role players on the site will notice and respect you more if you are fair and take losses gracefully. Once that door opens up, and you have some more experience under your belt, things really do get better.

Also, while I appreciate the offer to be Co-Op, I respectfully must decline at this time. I honestly just don't have the time currently to be Co-oping a thread.

Victores wrote:Maybe we should reboot it after banning some people from the thread and we can have a sane, minimal WMD, mature RP

A reboot maybe in order, certainly. And it's never too late to retcon on NS, especially when a thread is quickly going downhill by people who don't seem to grasp or care about what's going on.

Let me stop this right here and offer some food for thought to everyone here....

- Counter wanking a wanker won't make the situation better, only worse. All you can realistically do, is offer advice by pointing out why what they are doing is wrong, and ask them to edit/change. If they don't, or refuse to listen to reason, then you ask them to leave the thread and retcon their involvement in the RP. I see this happen all too often on this site over my years here, and it never EVER turns out good in the end.

Let me paraphrase the general NS rule of thumb from the stickies here, and offer you some insight...

It is generally accepted, that normal nations can upwards of around 5% of their total population employed in the armed forces. Anything higher then this, and you should start seeing a pretty negative impact on the economy.

As is, the smaller percentage you have in the military, the more funding you have to spend on things, such as training and equipment. Meaning that nations with 1% employed will have soldiers better armed, trained, and generally equipped then people who employ 5%. However, nations can realistically go higher then 5%. Just remember though that if you do, you should be Rp'ing troops that are nothing more then conscripted militia wearing street cloths and armed with whatever low grade surplus weaponry they can find, also known as the North Korean standard. :p

I wish to speak to you, enemy of man. No guards on either side, because if your divinity was true and sacrosanct like you claim, you wouldn't need to be shielded by simple men. The meeting will take place in the ruins of Kikikas. I will be expecting you.

OOC: Ba'al Abramelin Emeth V-Emeth is currently in a secret location doing a long ritual, the goals of the ritual is to commune with past leaders and ultimately to devour the souls of all of the dead. By no measure would he be interrupted.

"A God does not follow the demands of a simple man, A God does not prove himself to a simple Man. Cry out for the heavens to strike you with lightning and no such attack shall come.

If you truly wish to speak with the God in Flesh then you must come into our lands, go into our high Temple, perform an initiation ritual and from there blindfolded I personally will bring you to speak with our Lord. Did you think basking in his divine presence would be so easy? That you could interrupt such Divine Providence by your own will alone?"

You are not a god, you rely in your false divinity to make your citizens fear you. This will mean your ultimate demise, as history has taught us that despots are always defeated, either by their own people, or by the force of outside justice. Even if you make Yymea bend to your will, you should know, you will be destroyed.

OOC: I thought the ceasefire and treaty was still being made, just that the dominion wasn't a part of it so there was no ceasefire on them.

Oured, IFF

Lt. General Anastasia Valkyrie and Lt. Colonel Alice Tarkin stood on the gateway entrance waiting patiently as the clock struck 05:30. The duo had moved with haste to reach the IFF gateway terminal, destination Nova Victoria, from the Yymean frontlines, yet despite their haste, they were fully garbed in the formal blue military attire worn by the security detail of IFF instead of the usual thermal camouflage radiation protective suits. Just as Lt. Gen. Valkyrie was about to check her watch again she heard a familiar voice call out, “Big sis!” Turning around to face the owner of the voice she saw her younger sister, 5th Division commander and top diplomat, Ilyasviel Valkyrie run up to her and give her a big hug. “Oh, I was so worried that you’d be hurt in the war!” Ilya said as Asya smiled back and said, “I’m fine little one.” “I’m not little anymore big sis Asya!” replied Ilyasviel. “Ahem, I’d keep the familial love to a minimum at work” Said a cold voice behind them. As the trio turned around to face the voice they saw the President and the ever professional diplomat Sir Wilhuff Helsing flanked by 8 armed Orion Commandos. “Ugh, sorry boss,” replied Ilya slightly dejectedly. Still maintaining his professional demeanor Helsing said, “Sir Kensei, any words of advice to our kindly staff of 12?” The president appeared grim and determined, “Yes, while we are no longer supposed to be in combat, the arena you will be heading to will not be a war of violence, but a war of words. Now, do not and I stress do not underestimate the Hairy Men of God. They are intelligent, cruel barbarians capable of mass murder on a whim and may be plotting some sort of treacherous plot as we speak. Nonetheless, your goal is simple, to argue for and negotiate the best deal for the Yymean people. You will act to support the Yymean delegation I will attend shortly after I respond to this telegraph from the Hairy Men of God. Good Luck!” “Yes Sir!” responded the delegation as they saluted and then turned to enter the gateway.

Nova Victoria

The IFF delegation arrived via interdimensional gate at the gates of the negotiating building as the surrounding area flashed briefly like as if a lightning bolt had struck the front of the building. The delegation was comprised of 4 high level officers within the IFF and 8 armed guards who concealed their weapons to avoid spooking nearby civilians. Each member of the delegation was equipped with a thermo-radio-kinetic shield (TRK shield) to prevent any of them from being assassinated via kinetic, thermal or radioactive means. Once they reached the negotiation rooms they delegation promptly saluted the Victores president, and the Yymean president. However, they avoided any formal greeting to the HMG negotiator to convey their disgust for the HMG. Once the delegates were seated they waited for the negotiations to start.

Oured, IFF

Sir Reyvan Kensei sat alone in his office as he penned the following telegraph:

To the Hairy Men of God

From the IFF

Subject Stolen Idol Refugees

Encryption low

To whom it may concern

Considering your barbaric actions upon the Yymean people there is little the IFF can do to hide our disdain for your people. We have fought off your men to protect the Yymean refugees and we will continue to do so. If you are to seek our cooperation in finding the survivors of Stolen Idol, we have found more than 1.5 million at this time following our initial find of 40,000 totaling the Yymean survivors to 8.5 million in Western Yymea. If you are to have our cooperation in finding more Stolen Idol refugees we have several conditions.
First of which is calling off your assault on the Dominion. Your assault needlessly endangers the lives of countless Yymeans who must be treated for radiation sickness.
Second, reign in your ally the Elites of Doom. We do not wish for the cease fire to be broken again otherwise we will be forced to respond with force.
Lastly you are not to harass the Yymeans who wish to leave the HMG occupation zone for Drakovarnyian West Yymea, Stolen Idol, the Dominion or any other place of refuge.
Should you accept these conditions the IFF will dispatch our trackers to find Stolen Idol survivors.

Sincerely

Sir Reyvan Kensei
President of the IFF

Ilbigug Jilkimug clenched his teeth. He greeted the IFF negotiators, and breathed deeply. He was going to be calm.

Drakovanyian lines, Yymean Divisionary border

Commander Hans Davenport and his 20,000 strong Orion Commando task force had reached the Drakovarnyian lines driving in a mixed convoy of soldier on foot, on armored vehicles (3 assault craft, 3 medium tanks, 1 Thermal shield, 3 SAMS, and 2 mobile surface to surface missile batteries) and supply 30 trucks that housed several AA guns, mortars, machine guns, and towed 10 howitzers, and 10 self propelled guns. After stopping the convoy just behind the Drakovarnyian fortifications, the commander promptly exited the vehicle and asked who was in charge as he was tasked to help the local garrison in the event of a breach of the ceasefire.

Direct combat with the dominion was imminent.

Considering that you are using nothing but infantry on foot and marching in pretty much a straight line toward my positions for the better part of a day, all the while under constant bombardment by indirect weapons and my air force, I would put the low estimate of casualties suffered at around 75-80% by this point regardless of starting numbers. See, this is why massed infantry attacks such as the one you are launching generally fail horribly, as you literally are presenting a target so big to me that I can literally miss what I'm aiming at by a rather large margin and still score a kill.

Look, I understand that you have a very "one track" minded fighting force. I get it, honestly. However, even Imperial Japanese would have faltered in their advance if they suffered the absolute sheer volume of casualties that I'm inflicting upon you right now.

Think about it for a moment. For nearly 24 hours now, your soldiers have literally been watching those around them getting vaporized, blow up, burned, torn to bits by shrapnel, and having their internal organs turned to mush due to concussive shock waves of over pressure. Also since you have not stopped to rest, like at all in any of your posts, your men most likely are about to collapse from exhaustion, dehydration, and general lack of energy resulting from lackluster food intake as well. At some point, even the most hardened and fanatical soldier is going to take stock of the situation surround them and question if the pain and suffering is really worth it.

Just some insight for you to ponder over. Will have a response come morning, as I'm way too tired to post anything coherent tonight.
