I don't drop them from space just from 35,000ft in the air and I think I said that Syria retrofitted 747s for the purpose of being used for the shock troopers I have about 30,000 in total with more in training

The thing is a giant metal pod upon impact with the ground would crush itself and everything inside would be dead. If you trained 30,000 in a week, they're armed with rocks and the only training they got was someone pointing them at the enemy.

They're not new soldiers they are in fact soldiers from other branches of the army that volunteered for the Shock trooper program and I've been thinking that 10,000 is a little much to go with at first I'm going to edit the post to say 500 shock troopers. And the pod wouldn't be flattened your thinking about something being dropped from space it's only being dropped from 35,000ft the soldiers would be a little shaken up, but they would be fine and they've been training for weeks, but I think a month has passed

If you drop a metal container from over 10,000 meters, a roughly ~100 ton drop pod would reach a speed of 1,400 miles per hour. They would be a whole lot more than shaken up.

Shock proofing it won't take all of the impact away, but it will make it so they survive the trip down

No. Just no. It's like wrapping a mug with bubble rap and shooting it with a machine gun, the bublewrap will not stop the cup from breaking.

Really steel is more durable than you think and size counts as well it's not a giant metal box then there is aerodynamics that come into play as well it's not a square it will designed to cut through the air as well as take the impact and there is also things on it to help it slow down before it gets to the ground

So you're saying that you designed a giant blob of metal, slapped it into an aerodynamic shape and then put a parachute on top.

who said anything about a parachute there are other ways of slowing something down besides parachutes if you want I can say the opened flaps that are designed to create drag slowing the pod down to a point where landing is safer.

I just want to let you know this would never work in MT, PMT at the earliest.

well we can go into PMT a little, but don't I won't get too far into PMT or FT that just gets unbalanced fast. I think I might edit my post so one the pod's flaps fail to open and it crashes.
