In memory of World Diplomacy...

It's January, 2003. That attack of the twin towers on the United States still lives on. Many politicians around the world are troubled from threats of WMD and threats from many nations to others. Diplomacy and Trade is at an all time low and it is predicted that a financial crisis may occur. Whether prosperity is to come and riches overflow or towns burn and bullets ring for decades, it is the new era.

Whatever nation you control, these turbulent times in the world are unpredictable and difficult to control. Whether your nation rises to power by building bridges or building tanks, leaders must act to save their nation as the world stage is set for possibly the deadliest conflict in human history.

Israel - Crisis Outbreak

Firefight at Israeli-Palestinian checkpoint! More to come from PM. Possible increase in tension and possible war?!

After some time Palestinians had been causing stabbings, shootings, and now firefights. After this incident, 17 Israelis died with 43 Palestinian deaths and many more injuries on both sides. Politicians in Israel have pushed for punishment and war but the Prime Minister has declined and believes there is a horizon to this conflict. Israel has called the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom and France to establish a sizable force in Israel to quell tensions or be prepared for conflict. At the moment it is unknown the route that Israel will take however tension is rising very quickly.

Jiang Zemin took a deep breath and sighed.
" how long until my leaves fall from the tree of leadership?"
" about 3 months."
" very well then. should I leave a mess for my successor to clean up?"
" sir..."
" I'm serious, contact Bu zengi wu, I have an offer for him."
" yes sir."
the man went away and was handed a telephone.
"what?"
"Bu. it's Jiang, what's the current status of Israel?"
" a mess sir."
" time for us to light the smoking gases and hope not to get burned by them. get me the CEO of Norinco."
" yes sir."
he was connected to a man as Zemin got a drink of water.
"yes, this is Fa Ji xianchi."
" fa, how's it going? I need you to drop off 2,000 Type 86Ss, and 3 Type 98 tanks, can you do that?"
" I know a man, he's good."
" get to it, and keep your trap shut about it, understood?"
"yes sir."
he hung up the phone.

Washington D.C., United States

Situation Room — President George Bush was being briefed on the tactics of deploying a mass of troops to the middle east. An estimate of 200,000 United States forces along with coalition forces. The Coalition which consisted of the United Kingdom, Spain, Australia, Poland, Peshmerga and the Iraqi National Congress. A State-Level-Encryption message was sent to the United Kingdom's Defense Ministry for a final count of deployment numbers.

After the September 11th attack, Iraq was despised for allegedly harboring those who killed innocent Americans and amassing weapons of mass destruction. The United States whom had been resting since it's last large war, the Vietnam War, it had been awakened by the sound radical Islam.

The fate of the middle east lingers on the United States.

Israeli Crisis

After the news of a mass shooting/firefight had taken place in Israel came through, the United States knew the course it would take. In order to establish a foothold in the Middle East, support to Israel would be used as an excuse to hold a large amount of soldiers in the Middle East. Upon approval from the United States Congress, 12,000 US Marines could be deployed to support Israel from Palestinian threats, if Israel agrees. Since the United States did not recognize Palestine as a state, use of deadly could be argued if the Israelis declared the Palestinians rebels or terrorists.

State Dinner

The United States was hosting it's annual New Year State Dinner on January 31st. Invited were all the State Officials from all allied countries.

The rangers began shooting with their marksmen rifles behind various rocks in the mountain sides. Greenlandic invaders fell to the ground dead, as they were picked off like flies from the hidden enemy. The Greenlanders in shock; searching the rocks in panic for the hidden enemy. New Delhi, India

Members of the green party, liberal party, and the religious party were all waiting outside the door of President Durvasas Dhar. Dhruvasas pushed the button and told the secretary to let them in. Dhruvasas knew what this was about, after expanding the military budget by 10% many pro-peace parties rallied against the president. Dhruvasas did not worry however, because he was elected as president for life and it is very nearly impossible for him to be impeached. The three men then entered.

"Hello Mr. President." The three men said almost at once. They were all very nervous to be in the presence of the most powerful man in the sub-continent.

"I know why you have come here. The answer is no, I will not decrease military spending. War with Pakistan is imminent and we must be prepared."

"Sir, Pakistan can view the troop mobilization as a act of war!" The head of the Liberal Party Nandin Venkatesh said. The other 2 men nodded in agreement.

"The answer is no, and if they do find it as an act of war, they can do something about it!" The three men shook their heads and left.

There had been several parties in Syria that wanted power, but one such group was planning something to change Syria into a place where people could live in peace. At exactly 6:00 a.m. Syrian time that change happened it was the first time in history that a Velvet Revolution had overthrown and replaced a sitting Government the last one was in 1989 in Czech. This one saw the whole Syrian government replaced with a new government one that the people would be evenly represented the executive was replaced with a Council of Executives that was made up of eight people randomly selected every four years and a legislative with a body of 459 representatives elected every two years and a Commissioner elected every three years. The first elections were held and the Collective was set and the new Commissioner of Syria was Kyle L. Blackburn who had a lot of catching up to do as it pertained to world events because he wanted Syria to be more involved in them.

At a Televised International Press Conference
[Commissioner Kyle L. Blackburn]
As the new leader of Syrian Arab Republic I want to make Syria a player in world polities, but the first thing I want to do is give the people of Syria more rights and freedoms I know that many nations don't have embassies here so I am offering any nation that wants to open an embassy here the chance to do so now just contact Chief of Foreign Affairs Laurie Heaton and she will get everything you need. I also want to say that I give my condolences to the United States after the September 11, 2001 attacks that happened there. The first steps to building a better Syria is fixing our reputation around the world.

If you want to see the rest of the Government officials just check the factbook on my nation page for them. I was going to change the name of Syria to my NS name, but I figured it would be easier to just change the government type.

Nation Security Briefing

The President, Head of State, and other Cabinet members were being briefed on the tensions with the Indian-Pakistani Border. Pakistan, being an ally that has sold oil at a decent price for many years to the US, was concerned. News came through that India had ramped up its military. In order to maintain peace, 6 US Destroyers, 2 US Cruisers and 2 US Transports were sent to the Pakistani-Indian coasts in the Arabian Sea.

U.S. Secretary of State, Colin Powell, invited both Pakistan and India to peace talks in Washington D.C.. He insisted that, "Peace is the ultimate goal for both states and I believe would be in the best interest."

Us-Syrian Relations

The United States applauded the reformation of the Syrian government and asked that a new set of relations be set in place. US Secretary of State has already applied for a large embassy that will contain enough space for a medium sized runway and barracks for up 5,000 military personnel. Military space was asked for to ensure that there was security in the Embassy and to make sure terrorist would not interfere with the US Embassy.

Chief of Foreign Affairs Laurie Heaton had received the request and allowed it with the exception the the number of Troops be reduced to 2500 permanent and 2500 rotating troops as this would be less likely seen as hostile to the Syrian people some of which still didn't trust the United States. The announcement of the building of a new US Embassy the Iranian government was unsure of the new Syrian/US relationship, but Chief Laurie Heaton assured them that nothing would change between the two allies because the US and Syria weren't allies this was Laurie Heaton's way of testing the waters with the United States in regards to if they could be trusted or not. Commissioner Blackburn was preparing for several state visits to better the Syrian reputation with the world he knew that the US was leading a coalition for a war in Iraq and Iraq was pressuring the Secretary of Defense Greg Williamson into sending troops to Iraq to help, but Secretary Greg Williamson wanted to know why the US was planning to invade Iraq so he sent a letter to the President Bush of the United States asking if he could attend one of the coalition's meetings so he could decide on what to do.

US-Syrian Relations

The United States declined to invite Syria to the Coalition of Global Powers. The reasoning was due to there being no solid relations between the nations and a lack of military trust. There was more to the rejection but such reasoning was classified and could not be included. However, the reasoning for a planned invasion on Iraq was their alleged keeping of weapons of mass destruction.

The United States did however ask that Syria withdraw claims to the Golan Heights and allow Israel to integrate the Golan Heights. If they complied, the United States would pay $30.5 Million and withdraw 15% of the 20% sanctions on Syria.

"The meeting will be in 2 weeks time at Washington D.C." read a letter from President George Bush. The meeting would set a good standard for diplomacy and peace. Thankfully a war was averted and Pakistan would not have to fend itself from the mighty Indian Forces.

Secretary of Defense Greg Williamson had looked over pasted documents and reminded the US that they once supported Syria in seeing the Golan Heights as apart of Syria and then reminded them of United Nations Security Council Resolution 242 which both Syria and Israel agreed to he noted that the new Syrian government plans on working on a new deal with Israel over the Golan Heights that would benefit both countries equally and that he personally would keep the US informed on the outcome even if Commissioner Blackburn will not.

US-Syrian Relations

The United States, after being declined, offered again. This time the offer was $45 Million, all sanctions be removed. If Syria declined again, the United States would move sanctions from 20% to 35%, which Congress' approval -- which would be very likely. On top of that, there would be an increased military presence in US Bases in Israel. This is not a threat but a needed demand that will ensure peace between Israel and Syria.

Upon receiving another request from the US to give up their claim of the Golan Heights he was obligated to bring it to Commissioner Blackburn's attention which he read and thought about it and once again informed the US that after he was finished fixing Syria's internal problems he would be contacting the Israeli Prime Minister about a new deal over the Golan Heights that would benefit both countries even though the Golan Heights were rightfully Syrian territory Commissioner Blackburn knew why Israel wanted a claim in them so they could have access to Lake Galilee and divert water from the Jordan for its National Water Carrier which was understandable, but he had to make them wait until all of his plans for Syria were finished and the people were happy and healthy.

Zemin entered the room as his military staff scampered down in their seats.
" hello gentlemen, I am here to discuss , or rather listen to, plans for the invasion of Tajikistan. you may start general Wu."
the young man nodded as the projector was lowered, revealing a map of red planes arching over the target nation.
" we will stage a false flag attack on a Chinese boarder town by tajikistani military officers, this will give us reason to prom,pt a full invasion of the nation."
" phase I is where we will send in 300 bombers and 100 fighters to take out key military sights in the nation, including raids on their capital of Dushanbe. these are supposed to knock out communications, and contact between military bases, confusing the enemy, and allowing us to move onto phase II.
he clicked and a map of black tanks arrows and the nation once more appeared.
" within 1 hour of the bombing, we will send in 300 tanks and 10,000 men led by general Hong. they are to break through the surprised enemy lines and to provide the infantry with armored support. general Song will lead the infantry. we are to secure the country within 72 hours or less."
" 3 days, you have high expectations, don't you?"
" well I-"
" and what of foreign intervention? Russia will surely join to help her former satellite."
" that is why we are sending 200,000 men to the Manchurian boarderm, as a precaution."
" very well. meeting over."
the men left the room.

Blackburn was putting forward Syria was changing and it's economy rising to new heights, but the matter of the Golan Heights was weighting on his mind the area was originally Syria's and Israel illegally occupied it and set up hundreds of settlements which would make reclaiming the area tough because he didn't want to put those people out, but he did want the area back under complete Syrian control so he drafted a plan to give the Israelis there Syrian citizenship for full Syrian control of the Golan Heights as well as give the Israeli government access to the Sea of Galilee. This was something that he hoped would give him some distance from Israel, but help him begin on good terms with the country. Commissioner Blackburn was also in talks with Kurdish people in Syrian-Kurdistan to allow them semi-independence from the Collective laws as the old deal they was with the old government and not the new one.

Heavy raining in the Phillipines has caused flash floods and Mudslides in Mindanao and Luzon Islands and the Government issues a national emergency. All Villagers in heavily effected areas are being evacuated to higher ground.

Commissioner Blackburn's upgrades weren't just about the Syrian people getting more rights he had also authorized the Secretary of Defense to completely modernize all branches of the Syrian Armed Forces with the help of France again the Navy was upgraded adding two aircraft carriers, 45 cruisers, and 2 battleships to what they already had. The Syrian Arab Army added advanced training to what they were already doing the only thing that happened was they began recruiting more people into the army boosting the numbers from 220,000 to 300,000 Army Regulars and the reserves also saw a boost as well from 280,000 to 480,000 reserve troops. The Air force was also upgraded from have to use cold war era jets and bombers to a what the Secretary of Defense called "Modern Era Upgrades" even if they were still Cold War era with a few upgrades in technology in the radar systems and weaponry. The Air force did see some non cold war equipment in the form of helicopters which were Boeing CH-47 Chinooks which some had be retrofitted with MG's and other's as bombers or drop ships. The Secretary of Defense also authorized the training of air force ground troops that would be flown in and dropped behind enemy lines from a Boeing 747 build to serve that purpose the new units would be trained by the elite Syrian Republican Guard which was merged into the Syrian Arab Army, but they Secretary once again made it a separate unit or special forces unit the new group would be called "Syrian Shock Troopers" they would be deployed to areas where the normal army isn't able to get to.

Philippines Crisis
Secretary of Defense Greg Williamson had heard about the crisis in the Philippines so he ordered the Air Force to fly over the Philippines and air drop supplies like food, medicine, and clothing. He wanted to use the CH-47's to do the job to show the world that the military upgrades weren't just going to be used for war, but humanitarian aid as well. Ten CH-47's were loaded up and they made their way to the Philippines.

Commissioner Blackburn's Office
Commissioner Kyle L. Blackburn wrote a letter to the Israeli Prime Minister detailing his offer for the Golan Heights and that if they returned them to Syria he would give the Israeli settlers there Syrian citizenship and allow Israel access to the Sea of Galilee as well of a long term partnership for the defense of both countries.
