Hello, friends.

I'm starting up a RP (which may be character-based OR nation-based, however you choose to participate is entirely your choice) and the rules are per usual: No GMing, no excessive swearing (just be respectful, that's the bottom-line), etc. etc. The gist of the setting is that a terrorist ring has been secretly in operation within the borders of Imperial Esplanade. This is a storyline that I had been working on for some time with another RPing site (Facebook Nations) prior to their going under, and I would like to continue expanding upon in through NationStates now that I'm exclusively on this site.

Expanded Storyline and National History:
Prior to its' demise, the Grand Republic was a founding member of the Alliance of Righteous Nations (or, the ARN... simply referred to as 'the Alliance) which flourished within its' own existence and remained relatively isolated compared to other international organizations. One of them, known as the Laptev Axis, was the perennial superpower of the region, flexing its' muscle often in the affairs of other states and factions. This inevitably led to run-ins, one of them was against the Grand Republic - leading a coalition of Axis nations and nations friendly to the axis. The Grand Republic then initiated a defense, calling upon the Allied forces and nations friendly to the Alliance. After a brutal, bloody, but quick war... the Axis ended it by smashing one of Castillo's moons into Castillo, the Grand Republic's homeworld, destroying all life and forcing the Grand Republic to surrender, this spurred a series of surrenders from the other Alliance members and nations fighting alongside the Alliance.

With the Grand Republic's capital lost, and billions of lives lost, they had to rebuild. The Grand Republic was previously a very unique nation, as it dwelled within its' own solar system. However, the Grand Republic was falling apart, the nation was imploding and the incredibly young then-President Emmy Langlois had to make a choice as they were looking at a financial armageddon. The decision was then made, auction off the land-holdings and use the proceeds to terraform three uninhabited and unclaimed solar systems to their own fitting:

- The Freedom System
- The Democritus System
- The International System

The Freedom System was considered to be the true home and heartland of the new nation that would arise from the ashes of the Grand Republic. The Democritus System was a colonial solar system, each planet primarily governed locally but with defenses provided by the new state. The International System was to serve as an international/interstellar trading hub, with rights to various portions of each of the planets to be auctioned off at an undisclosed time and date. The major planet of the entire system, Olympus, was to serve as an international no-man's land - a neutral location for any and all nations to gather at a time of international crisis, or celebration. The decision was then made, as the unicameral National Senate had decided to dissolve the faltering Republic and establish a new state in its' place: Imperial Esplanade. Then-President Emmy Langlois, then 23 years old, was nominated for the crown for the newly-minted imperial state. She graciously accepted, and the young queen has since become an international symbol synonymous with peace, tolerance, and coexistence.

However, there were those who had a vested interest in the failure of the new state... whatever the cost. A shadow organization, known as the 'Inner Circle' had been organizing terrorist activities within the then-Grand Republic for decades, and they followed the new state to Imperial Esplanade as they set up shop and perform subversive activities all across the solar system and even beyond. The man in charge? He calls himself "Gold Eagle," his true identity remains obscure as he is not a citizen registered with Imperial Esplanade. This man was responsible for the assassination of Queen Emmy's father, the great President Henri Langlois III, as well as countless acts of terror since the Alliance-Axis War. Many believe his motives have something to do with an allegiance toward the Axis, though it has since dissolved and many member nations having since collapsed. The Gold Eagle is a mastermind, a true genius who has managed to escape detection and apprehension for over three years. He must be caught, and will be caught, at all costs.

Name of character: Daffa Hanif Darsono
Motive for being at convention: To gather some information about humans
Character personality (if applicable): Daffa is a very calm person, always find a way to solve a problem, he was a military genius and have a deep emotion, but he cover it with his cold expression
Short character bio (if applicable): Daffa was a member of Darsono Clan, which indicate him as a nobleman, he started his military carrier as a captain on 5th battalion, his commander discovered his talent and promote him to colonel, As expected from his class, he was raised in the teaching of the Path of the Warrior and the arts of war, he often prefer his emperor both a commander of his armies and his self.

Name of character: Plenipotentiary Liaison Officer Argall.

Motive for being at convention: As part of Presiding Elder Ancla's Third Order Initiative, the Ren Concordance is seeking to end its seclusion. As the International System presents a stellar opportunity for a foreign foothold and permanent liaison, the Concordance's stated motives for appearing at the convention revolve primarily around potential investment in and development of the International System. However, there is also an unstated element of self-interest - the Concordance believes that Gold Eagle and Inner Circle are a potential threat to their own security, and that strong alignment and synergy with Imperial Esplanade might be in the interests of both governments.

Character appearance (if applicable): Argall is about 5'4'' (162cm), with light brown skin, dark brown eyes, and jet-black hair (buzzed close to the scalp). They have a light grey tattoo on their right wrist, which turns black when they clench their fist: three rings around their wrist, with crosshatch fill - the rank insignia of a reserve PMF major. Their body shape is difficult to gender (like almost all of the population of Wind-and-Light, their homeworld) but would tend slightly feminine to an outsider's eye. Their usual manner of dress is a gleaming, malleable, body-covering layer of nanomaterial, which tends to shift and ebb to express emotion (common knowledge is that the clothes never lie; this is not quite true); this is standard formalwear for mid-level civilian officers of the Concordance.

Character personality (if applicable): Argall is almost invariably described as pleasant. Their personality is, indeed, somewhat anodyne - although they are known to suddenly sharpen up when they have an advantage to press. In addition, their PMF service record describes a rather different person - passionate, with a quick temper and an occasionally vitriolic manner. Which is the true person is unclear.

Short character bio (if applicable): Argall has been with the Image and Liaison Office of the Concordance Council of State for the last ten standard years. After the Changing which swept the faction of Presiding Elder Ancla to power, Argall - who had been Assistant Chief of Wind-and-Light's bureau at Central - was immediately promoted to the newly created rank of Plenipotentiary Liaison Officer, along with several dozen others, as part of Ancla's increased foreign outreach initiative. Argall comes from the descamisados - an Earth Spanish word meaning 'shirtless ones', which substitutes for the unpronounceable Central Standard word describing the lowest social class of the Concordance. Descamisados live in entrenched poverty because their families were at some point unable to keep up with the bio- and cyber-upgrades which are commonplace throughout the rest of the Concordance; those who could not upgrade in one generation were unable to access the opportunities they needed, and fell behind, passing their lack of opportunity to their descendants. Having achieved sufficient social status to join the prestigious Image and Liaison Office, Argall is no longer strictly considered a descamisado; however, the topic of their sympathy for the downtrodden is the subject of much speculation among their juniors (and some of their seniors).

Name of character: Liv Crionna of the Tribe of Cork
Motive for being at convention: To establish diplomatic relations with other nations.
Character appearance: Here.
Character personality: Nice and calm, calculating, intelligent and open-spirited. Has a weakness for sweets.
Short character bio:

Liv was born on Uaine 43 years ago. As daughter of a mine owner and his wife, she had access to the best education, the Trossach-System had to offer and went above that. She studied international politics at several universities (one semester here, the other there and the next at some completely different place) and travelled a lot due to this.
With 23, she had her first major, life-changing experience: The ship she was travelling on was attacked and hijacked by the crew of the pirate cruiser Selkie Rover, who treated most passengers with respect and dignity befitting them, more acting like gentleman pirates then actual pirates. With the ransom paid, a laughably little sum compared to what have been possible, the Rover escorted them to the next system and let them go.
Liv immediately went home - imagine her surprise, when she saw a pirate cruiser familiar to her in Uaine's orbit...
A few years later, with her studies completed and with a job as official diplomat of the Trossach-Republic, she met the cruiser and its grizzled and slightly crazy Captain Cedric Cainteoir of the Tribe of Galway again, beginning a deep-rooted friendship with the pirate, who was a completely legal and law-abiding citizien of the Trossach-Republic. This time, he was hired to transport her.
It was the first of many times to follow, which made the pirates serve as her diplomatic transport and escort.

A military genius and political idealist, he overthrew the Goldenbaum Dynasty and and abolished its institutionalized class system after emerging victorious in the Imperial Civil War. After establishing himself as the new Empire's first kaiser, or emperor, Reinhard initiated numerous social, political, legal, economic and military reforms to reforge the Galactic Empire.
