Synopsis
Based on Namco's air combat series, this episode of Ace Combat: NationStates takes place in the NS world in Europe in a not too distant future. The European Union, replaced with a more universally tight knit and creative alliance of nations known as the LBP Union currently occupy most of Europe. In its backyard, the Balkans, economic collapse has resulted in what politicians came to refer to as the Lawless Zone. Anarchy rules most of the countries in the Balkans such as Croatia and Greece. With little attention payed to this area, the Union soon paid the price as a powerful neo-nazi, socialist terrorist organization rose to power in the Lawless Zone, using the starvation and deprivation as energy to give rise to hate and anger towards the slavs in Eastern Europe. A huge war machine sprung up as they augmented their power off of former Axis Alliance resources and by swiftly overtaking the poorly trained yet well equipped Soldier Wolves militias near Russia and Ukraine. Early in their campaign, they even took over an extremely powerful railgun network located in the former Khorne Empire, Central Turkey from the days of the Axis Alliance. The railgun ring, known as Stonehenge ensured the terrorist organization, dubbing itself the "Visarian Mandate," the ability to maintain complete and total air superiority in a 1600 kilometer radius. The Balkans, Eastern Europe and Asia-Minor were theirs for the taking.
Launching a massive campaign known as Operation Eternal Liberation, The LBPU's ISAF coalition and its allies from the north, Armellenia, launched a massive raid on territories outside of Stonehenge's firing range and eventually a successful air strike on Stonehenge itself. ISAF now begins to launch its operations to drive out Visaria from the land they have stolen. However, they appear to be working far too fast to be working alone. The terrorists are likely working in tandem with at least a few nations...

Rules and Such
Thought maybe I could try and reboot this RP one last time to kill some time. The rules are copied from the original thread which now left for the gravediggers. (Don't gravedig!)
This is a military conflict RP, however your writings should be in the point of view of pilots and the occasional international message or news report. The point of this is to develop of a story revolving around pilots of different countries flying together or dogfighting to the death in their eyes. While you will have to include strategic outlines as well, that is not the emphasis of the story-building. Progress the story through your main characters or squadron, and then progress your technical details through typical nationstates strategic description.
The main characters should develop in SKILL and PERSONALITY so you need to start your pilots off with regular 3rd or 4th gen aircraft rather than 5th gen OP Raptor spam. Some starter plane ideas,
- F-16 Fighting Falcon
- Saab 35 Draken
- F-4E Phantom II
- Mig-21 Fishbed
- F-5 Tiger II
Next on the premise list is a SET VILLAIN group controlled by me to help progress the story. You can side with them or against them, it doesn't matter. They will challenge each of their enemies with a superweapon of some sort. If you like Ace Combat, you can probably guess what these will be. I have no set ending yet, so feel free to meddle around with the villain nation as you please and lets see where this goes!
Here's a few ground (air?) rules to keep everything in order,
1) No really good planes until later to show character skill development. (Stay away from Raptors and higher end Sukois or superplanes)
2) Keep aircraft limited to real life and playable aircraft in the Ace Combat series only. (But not from Ace Combat 3 you cheaters.)
3) No WMDs, world treaties prevent you from using these, as well as my ignore cannon. However, they will play a role later.
4) Ridiculous amounts of missiles and infinite gun are fine, but limit how much you fire at once to two unless you have 4 AAM equipped. This is an ACE COMBAT thread after all.
5) No goddamn Dogfight Mode you hackers
6) Keep it Rated T like in the games would ya?
Aircraft used have three weapons: Their gun, missiles, and a special weapon. You can have infinite gun, but after firing for more than 12 seconds it will need to reload. You can only fire two missiles at a time with a 5 second reload time. A list of acceptable SP weapons is listed here. Disregard the mentions of normal missiles and cannon, and remember to only equip SP weapons that can be equipable to a plane in ACE COMBAT INFINITY for simplicity. If the plane you're looking at isn't in ace combat infinity, use the SP weapon it uses in its respective Ace Combat game. If the plane isn't in any Ace Combat games, acceptable SP weapons are 4AAM, High Capacity AA Missiles (HCAA), and Unguided Bombs. If you need to look up infinity stats for a plane, just look up the plane with "Ace combat" in the search, and look at the ace combat wiki and scroll down and click the box to show the infinity stats.
As for location, The LBP Union essentially is a united Europe and parts of the western United States. If you really need spaces on this map, take the open white spaces. If your country is somewhere else in the world, we'll just let that remain ambiguous.
Find the Map Here!
In any case, jump in as you see fit. I'll try and make it easier to hop in. Have fun!
How To Jump In
Probably the first thing you should do is have part of your first post be some sort of explanation of how your nation wants to get involved with the side of your choice. A formal message will do. Next you should develop your character. Remember that you should want to develop your character so leave him room to grow. Don't go all Mobius 1 ace of aces outright. Unless your goal is to disrupt, don't simply interrupt an ongoing mission. Once you make your sort of announcement and development post, wait for then next mission to launch before you can deploy. This is so that realistically, the forces you've allied with have time to account for you in their battle strategy.
There is no signup application. Show us your characters rather than telling us about them. That will make you a better writer.
My current suggestion to you for jumping in right at this moment is to follow the above. There isn't a mission going on right now and now would be the best time to get involved if you'd like to get in on the action for the next mission, which I will hopefully get to posting about this weekend.
