Oh, I certainly won't, do not worry about that. Your ships just do not really have the Planetary Bombardment capability that our ships can level. So, as previously mentioned, you will likely want to try and stick around the Aeiouian Vessels until we deliver your Triarius Is.

But on the topic of planetary bombardment, that sounds to be quite effective, so keep that around if we need it.

Oh yeah i know i cant do a big Planatary Bombardment, But i can do Interplanatary Barrage. that is to say is is designed to be more simular to a sniper, where as your you could probably be compared to a Gigantic Carpet Bomb of Nukes

Well, technically, we can do both. Beams are highly accurate, and tend to cause little collateral damage, and Antimatter Bombardment just sort of destroys everything, but we are using that a bit less now that preserving the world is usually the goal.

By the way, how do you procure so much radioactive matter for this? If you've only just started to travel of world, there's no way you have this much industrial and resource prowess.

I imagine that Hovering Tanks would be difficult to deploy with any weight on them, for that matter.

Unless they went hovercraft style. Then again, you could get rid of the cushion with your shell projectile and the tank is disabled.

Radioactive material is not used, Our cold reactors run off of hyper compressed hydrogen, frozen. A solid, highly positive material, when it is frozen form, it holds a lot of potential as an electrical fuel cell, but it turns into something akin to HO after the material is exhausted. so it works something like a backwards hydrogen reactor.

Well if it is both of our goals, then my forces might make a temporary battlefield truce with yours in certain sectors, possibly tuning into a full on truce.

My way of going about doing it will be something like this (first part was inspired by the tactics Mao did during his campaign):
1. Land forces, which will be particularly Political Officer heavy and attempt to provide food aid to various cities with the aim of winning over the support of the common man. These food drops will be heavily propagandized along with all other actions my forces undertake.
2. Using their support, get them to make propaganda to encourage others to join the RMN and UPS
3. With the peaceful campaign being conducted the military campaign against other nations/dissidents hyper-capitalist fascist pig-dogs will be conducted to take various population centers by force. Nukes will not be used in urban warfare to preserve the public opinion.
4. ???????
5. Victory and rigged elections to get people who are Atomic Utopia friendly in charge of the UPS.

Tinfect wrote:

But, yeah, definitely in agreement there.

Yeah, my forces will probably have an attrition rate (at least in the first wave) of around 80% if they are not the first there.

Food drops?

omg wtf

Singaporeans don't have an active food demand. Transhumans for that matter, and baseliners get their stuff from the Mass Fabricators without any obstruction now. I doubt propaganda would actually work on a populace that has been through Minecraft fanboys ravaging their world either.

And no, the apathetic populace is more than likely to bash the idea of setting up elections.

So what will the event sequence be exactly, we really need to get this down before we start the RP.

So when will each of our forces arrive.

Mine will arrive within two IC weeks.

Or you could do like I do, stick a nuclear reactor in it and use that to heat the air and expel it in a downward direction, thus creating lift and frying anything below it.

I will probably have a factbook for my nuclear powered hover-tanks down this weekend, assuming the reactor can actually do that.

Maybe, I get most of my information from the same sources, except for when I delve into several-hour long research sessions to figure out specific aspects of my nation that are largely irrelevant.
Granted, most of us seem to have some form of Artificial Gravity for our ships, depending on the Hardness of that particular technology for our nations, could that not also be used for literally everything from Propulsion, to Weapons?

No, hard sci-fi tends to be cooler from the aspect that more interesting things appear and suddenly warfare is one hell of a lot more complex than just D-Day with lasers.

Are you implying hard scifi isn't anything but WWI/II with lasers (with space combat stuck in the 1700s)?

Are you implying hard scifi isn't anything but WWI/II with lasers (with space combat stuck in the 1700s)?

No, I am implying that soft scifi tends towards being nothing but modern warfare on a galactic level. Often when I read a soft scifi book or watch a soft scifi movie it tends towards being just like modern warfare.

Hard scifi tends to be more complex, after all, these technological advances really change the face of the battlefield beyond a cosmetic "rifles becoming laser rifles". Spacecraft now are blind as they go FTL, combat on planets takes on a whole new level of complexity as more exotic weapons are thrown into the mix, warfare becomes somewhat strange and alien, allowing for the exploration of new and unique strategies that take advantage of the unique properties of warp drives and what not. In hard scifi things become more interesting because reality is so very often stranger than fiction.

For example, a hard scifi warp drive will emit an intense enemy frying pulse of energy when it warps into a system, which brings up all kinds of new strategies, such as spreading your ships out in a way that might get some of the enemy fleet in the path of these pulses.

But the most important part of any sicfi is to be creative, to realize that space is more than just an ocean and most importantly, explore the nature of human emotions in new and alien societies.

But these are just my opinions, and I will not argue with you about "what is the best scifi" because this is not the thread for that, this is the thread for planing an RP about a massive and chaotic civil war.
Fabulously bisexual.
Note: I do not use NS stats for my RP, instead I use numbers I made up one evening when writing my factbooks.

The Aleph Division will see deployment in the later stages of this engagement.
Now we can justify collapsing an entire dimension on things.
