With unprecedented luck for the inhabitants of this world, the tungsten round breaks through Farsight's shields and hits his throat through a gap in his titanium alloy armor. His head topples to the floor and his body follows. Fellow marines stand bewildered and look up to where the shooter was. They immediately open fire but with no luck.

In orbit above yolkia sits Fleet Master Iros of the 109th fleet. He sits there watching the video feed of Farsight's death with amusement. The holo video ends and he rests in his hover throne, his fingers scroll over buttons projected by holograms on the arm of his seat,"All 109th Troops, pull out of the Yolkia capital and defend the outskirts. Set up those beacons... We are going to need a Winter Rebel to tame this world. Farsight was too arrogant. Call off the Delton, we can't sink the city until we retrieve the corpse and call for help. Federation save us..." He mutters. On the ground fields of marines begin to break away from other marines and fall to the outskirts. Their they hope to set up beacons to send a call back home. If this happens, who knows what may come to this world. Perhaps even the feared Winter Rebel. The 109th is known as the best Marine Fleet, not because of arrogance; but because of their willingness to get the job done no matter the cost. None the less, they aren't stupid. The 150th's command network is in shambles(only over the capital, but as word spreads, so will its effect). 150th marines inside the city begin to prepare defenses instead of attacking. This buys the yolkia and her allies breathing room.

Hit and Run! The Commonwealth joins the fight!

Postby Cervidas and Ibex » Tue Jul 07, 2015 11:31 am

Barren Desert, Cervidas, Installation 01
"Project Stonehenge is now complete. All towers report optimal conditions. Adjust vectors to compensate for planetary curvature. Switches are on, we have green lights across the board. tower 3 in position, tower 5 in position, tower 1 in position, towers 2 and 8 in position, towers 4, 6, and 7 in position. Confirmed, all towers are in position. Standby for Command codes. Code 1 is confirmed, code 2 is confirmed, final code is confirmed. Count down is a go. T minus 00:05:00 minutes to launch."

The winter has ended and contact has been reestablished. the Commonwealth is back on the global scene once again. They are coming back en force in this time of global crisis to aid their brothers and sisters for sovereignty for all nations. Once they were divided and crushed. For a period they were lost, but after a time their spirit was found again now a new force threatens them again. now armed with the tools of modern warfare and united towards a common goal these people lash out as one.

"T Minus 00:04:00 minutes to launch"

"At the moment I would suggest against directly assisting the Yolkian people. With the current situation being what it is I fear we'd only be getting in the way. right now we need to concentrate on moving the enemy's attention away from the current battle. If we can do that, we can buy ourselves the time to get organized and begin planing our counter-attack."
"what do you suggest we do?"
"Hit them where it will hurt. when you spend most of your time running from a bully they can get careless. When you then turn around and sock 'em right in the nose, they'll think twice before they go after you again."
"so what's our target? Their space fleet?"
"No, that will be taken care of at least for the moment. the plan is for..."

Somewhere in Enfaru

"Lufia Aederyn Tyilmour, it is an honor to finally meet you. My name is Janice Ice Im sorry that it could not be under better circumstances. Listen, I've come to tell you that we need to launch the Rafirnog now or both our nations will fall. It is a key component of a plan we've put together to strike back at the federation that now threatens our world. The ship cannot launch without the engines your people designed. we know you still have them and we know the survived the cataclysm. We've come all this way to help save our world. If we can't get the support of the Rafirnog for this mission, it will be that much more likely that our plan will fail and then I fear no one will be safe. I beg you to help us in this time of need."

Disclaimer: This is going to be a bit cameo-ish I'm afraid. I have no idea how long I will be able to continue

Lufia Aederyn Tyilmour, the Grand Preceptor of Enfaru or at least what remained of Enfaru stood in the remnants of the Gold Court, blasted as it was from this side and that. There were still creatures hopping around paying no attention to the Commonwealth who had made the arduous journey. There were no signs of the Farian people, no guards, no office juniors, no ministers not one soul. Even the Grand Preceptor was not entirely there appearing as a two dimensional hologram from where ever it was that she found herself. She now wore her shawl further over her head shadowing her face and her robes were longer as if she didn't wish to be seen.

Bowing her head, Lufia held one arm tucked inside her robes, "Welcome to the Gold Court or at least...what remains of it." Immediately Ms Ice got straight down to business and it had Lufia a little concerned. The Rafirnog was legendary perhaps mythical in its prowess and it hadn't been in a complete form for years perhaps decades. The technology had been lost as it were for the engines. Lufia turned as if speaking to someone and then address Ms Ice again, "The engines for the Rafirnog were...salvaged...but we...left something else behind instead." Reaching out Lufia opened up her right palm and presented a map of the old territory of Enfaru in holographic form although again in two dimensions. "There are a series of eight engines that helped to power Aeru Island located in the north west district as an experimental power source. They are yours if you have need of them." The engines themselves were further displayed, they operated on different principles and no longer required the nuclear reactors, instead the worked on entirely different principles extracting, converting and consuming energy from the very air itself.

The hologram flickered and warped slightly, "Is there anything else?"

The FoAS Threat

Postby The Western Covenant » Wed Jul 08, 2015 9:24 pm

The scouting force of the Reaper Division arrived at the Eastern Trenches to see the destruction that had ensued burning bodies, and broken Machines scattered the battle field. Most of the bodies were within the No mans land between the two forces. The Yolkian troops looked like they were in need of fresh fighters, ammunition, and machinery. The Reaper Division was arriving right on time. Général Grosvenor arrived at the Yolkian HQ via chopper. As he got off his pristine uniform definitely stood out among even the officers. It was after all a uniform that had seen no battle with a force that was fighting together for the first time.
He approached the supervising Yolkian Officer at the launch pad.

"I'm here to see the commanding officer we have a battle to win."

Mayor Béatrice Le Marche leaned on the railing of the balcony in her office overlooking Forêt Cachée, unlike Terset her view was mostly of trees rather than the city. In the distance fighting between Yolkians and FoAS troops could be heard. The people were worried. She looked up into the night sky light pollution from the city was kept to a minimum due, leaving a beautiful view of the stars. Forêt Cachée was the Covenant's largest city. Its name came from the forest surrounding it. massive trees grew into the sky. underneath the city prospered. a few Sky scrappers pocked above the tree line to make use of solar panels. The trees extended all the way to the port. For this reason the city was mostly spared during the civil war as it couldn't be strategically bombed. Suddenly a strange whistling noise came from the sky seconds later six massive objects smashed through the Tree line. the first exploded before even reaching the ground the following had been more lucky. One smashed into one of the government management buildings causing the whole structure to fall onto the rest of the city. The second, and third smashed into the commercial districts. The fourth rammed into one of the Defense Force barracks incinerating it. The Fifth smashed into the City Hall nearly throwing Béatrice off of her balcony. Dust and fire immediately engulfed the city. The firing of weapons and cries could be heard in the lower levels of City Hall. She ran to her desk. She searched her desk for the revolver she had been given for protection. As she fumbled to get the bullets into the archaic gun, her door burst open. She swiveled to see a FoAS soldier lifting their rifle. Beatrice last memory was the searing pain of the FoAS weapon smashing into her abdomen pushing her off of her balcony, as she fell to her death into the burning city below.

The Federation had arrived in The Western Covenant.

Western Covenant

Postby Federation of Aligned Species » Thu Jul 09, 2015 1:16 am

In the Western Covenant, warships litter the sky; their guns sending plasma in every direction. Major city centers are targeted while rural areas begin to feel the tremors of a coming Delton. The Western Covenant was marked for eradication due to its proximity with the Yolkia campaign. No civilians are to be spared, we will not accept surrender. The numbers of the Western Covenant are just too great a threat. Spider tanks are deployed on the ground due to the rigid terrain. Meanwhile SEDPs rain from orbit deploying 150th Marines. Fleet Master Carth is overseeing this invasion. He is close friends to Iros, and Iros' tank sister(they were synthetically born) Si. Carth though was not diclonius. He was just a natural born human with the implants of the federation. Centuries of warfare have honed his skills as a tactician. Personally, he hated eradicating people, but believed in the Federation's cause due to his parents being killed by diclonius.

Juniper's Orbit

Postby Federation of Aligned Species » Thu Jul 09, 2015 1:18 am

Fleet Master Si looks down at an officer,"The polar colony only has thralls in it. If there is a problem, send gunships. Level the colony, it has no use to us any longer. Yolkia is to be the center of operations from now on. Besides with the Union being assimilated we have begun transferring those we kidnapped there to be indoctrinated." At this gunships are sent to the polar colony to level it with their guns. As for the fire coming from the surface, the fleets in orbit began glassing the planet. The SHPMACs destroy large encampments of the guns and turning the earth to glass. The superheated plasma burns everything. Fleets constantly warp in and out to avoid being zeroed in on.

Tigrillo's push

Postby Yolkia » Thu Jul 09, 2015 8:28 am

Cebrian burst out of his bunker once he heard the news. Shocked he looked for an errand boy "listen up chaps, i need you to take these paper and give them to the men in charge. they are maps
http://i.imgur.com/TPMXIeT.png
for our push. rumor has it that their men are pushing back." he looked up at his men, they were shocked, no doubt, by Penultimo's death. "Men, women, today we are all fighters alike. We have beat odds several times and today, this war won't be the exception. We have never lost a war before. our will has never been twisted by another power. If there is something we're good at it's fighting. I want the entire federation to know that!" the men cheer with their rifles up high. "We are the sons of the great Llam, we are here to entertain, if we don't push through this force how will they even consider us worthy of their army. I want us to be in the front lines for the final day!" the men cheered as they stood up from their defenses. Remember the fallen, because you will meet them once again someday... But not today. Today we fight!" more cheers "Today we kill!" more cheers "Today we charge with the gods by our side. And if they don't come with us then the gods themselves will follow us to battle. For Yolkia! For the fallen! and for the great Llam!" the men cheer behind him. He had given the other generals time to formulate their plans, most of them got the memo in time to get the push forth, yet several didn't have time to scramble their men for the push, thus the push wan't distributed equally through the battle-lines. small oceani forces pushed from the south-west sector and helped the Yolki push the main lines. the artillery started to fire the small-pox shrapnel shells trough the enemy controlled zones. The soldiers and militia charged through the city, catching their forces by surprise as they were readying to hold more defensive positions. The push was firm and bloody, thousands lost their lives for their push but, at the end of the day, they were successful. Yolkia now held a majority of the city. the oceani forces had helped with the vital push on their forces. The artillery soften them up for the several charges and now, with the oceani supplies, they could fire, non stop over the enemy's fortifications. The Yolki push had marked the day, holding most of the city their several separate locals were now connected by small roads in Yolki-controlled zones.
rolls:
to get the information to the generals and get them ready a 4
the generals speech is a 5 (Iryllia was the one whom choose)
so the attacking roll is a 11 -5 = 6, so attacker wins

Outskirts of Trillgo

Postby Federation of Aligned Species » Thu Jul 09, 2015 9:33 am

The Federation is dug in. Hover tanks and GroundShakers bombard the city, trying to hold the enemy from coming out. Federation Marines have deployed mobile force field covers and are entrenched around the city. They sit there... Waiting. Their guns pointed at the city waiting for the signal. Meanwhile the gunships fly above the city with fighter escourts. Warships have all but left back into orbit since the 1.3 million deployed are now all outside the city. They wait in orbit for the beacons to be built to amplify the signals.

The Aersquiran advance continues through the ash that is the eastern boarder. Their thirty thousand strong army of Kudalian and Aersquiran soldiers pushed onwards, the best of their nations. That is, not to count the fleet diving in and out of the clouds, and the yet unrevealed machine hiding among them. Eventually the enemies came into sight, and they halted their march. The ships above stirred like an angry hive around what was hidden in the clouds. Teams of men ran forward and began setting their own beacons, their use yet unknown to their foe.

A handful of Inquisitors broke off from the army, skirting around the city. Their visual, thermal, and noise camouflages making them all but invisible. Some set to snipe at a distance, some set to infiltrate enemy ranks. Their operation seems like suicide, and their moral is low. Communication officers began radioing in for reinforcements form any other armies in the area.

This gets depressing as hell near the end, I apologise.

Southern Ward, Tigrillo

The troops cheered as the last groundshaker was brought down. Sector secured. They had only arrived in the city hours before but, in coordination with the Yolkians, had successfully helped push the Federation's forces out of the city of Tigrillo. But their celebrations were premature. Into the crowd, a man strode.

He was grey, in his mid-sixties, and dressed in a tattered Yolkian infantryman's uniform which was splattered with blood. He walked right up to the commanders and they recognised him instantly. Anthony Revere, the man who had been Oceanion's Prime Minister eight years ago, had been in the city when the invasion began on diplomatic business and had fought on the Yolkian side. Now, with Oceani troops arriving in the South of the city, he had made his way to his people. But he had discovered something on the way.

"I'm sorry gentlemen, but you'll have to tell the troops to stop celebrating," he commanded, "I'm afraid we still have work to do." The officers were flabbergasted.

"Prime Minister?" Brigadier Kyr stammered.

"Ex-Prime Minister," Anthony corrected him, "but we haven't time for that now. Yolkia is still in dire need of our help." Usually a kind man, the war had hardened Anthony's spirit. "The Federation is setting up beacons, I believe they are calling for aid. Their call cannot be answered, or it will be the death of this world. Have your men move on and attack the nearest beacon, just a little east of here. The situation is dire and we have no time to lose."

The Brigadier nodded. A message was relayed to Camp Creedo, the Oceani command centre, and a plan was formulated.

"They want us to do what?"

"You heard me," the officer answered the young recruit that had rebuked him. "Orders from HQ just came in. We're to launch an immediate assault on the south-eastern beacon, and scout the city for others. Warships are leaving so it shouldn't be too hard, but there are gunships patrolling the skies that could still give us some trouble so be prepared for a fight. Today we blast the hell out of these beacons, or die in the attempt.

"If the former, the planet is saved. If the latter, losing would make survival worthless. Today it is better to die than to fail. So man your planes! We've almost done it- let's strike while the iron is hot and end this once and for all!"

The assembled pilots and gunners cheered and raced to their aircraft. A swarm of fighters and bombers took off into the air and crossed the bay towards when the battered skyline of Tigrillo could be seen on the horizon.

Upper Southern Ward, Tigrillo

Anastasya had returned back to her crew. She taken off running the second she'd seen Farsight fall- not that she knew who her victim had been, or the significance of her action. The crew of the Danger has fought alongside the Yolkians in their push against the Federation's forces and now they were journeying southerly through the city, as they had heard that the Oceani ground forces had arrived.

Finally, Anastasya's First Mate, Gretchen, asked "how much further, do you reckon?" They had been travelling through the city for the best part of the day, seeing surprisingly little of the Federation's forces.

Anastasya was about to reply, when suddenly two of Oceanion's Honey Badger Fighter Jets tore through the sky, unleashing a hail of gunfire against the few Federation gunships still above the city. Behind them, three Judgement Bombers flew in formation and discharged their load on something just out of sight behind some buildings. Whatever they were trying to hit, it looked as if they failed, because strong fire was returned. This managed to bring one of the bombers crashing down in flames.

"What was that?" someone from the crew shouted.

Anastasya stepped forward from the cowering crew. "I don't know," she told them "but I'm gonna find out. Come on Gretchen!" She and her First Mate rushed off ahead to investigate.

Roll for air attack on beacon construction site= 13/20 (-1 for ambush = 12/20). Slight defensive victory.

***

Beacon Construction Site, Southern Ward, Tigrillo

Some of the Federation's troops were amassed in a courtyard, cut off from the roads by a dilapidated apartment complex. Once, long ago, children from these flats would've played together in this courtyard but not anymore. Those who had started to rebuild their lives after the civil war had only seen them torn apart again by the arrival of the Federation.

In the centre of the courtyard, marines had begun the construction of a large machine. A beacon. If it was successfully constructed and a message was sent, it could dash the people's new found hope of reclaiming their world that had come with the killing of Farsight. Marines were not busying themselves with building the beacon at the moment, however. The failed bombing had altered them to the possibility of attack so they kept their guns out and their eyes peeled for new threats.

All this Anastasya and Gretchen could see from the window of one of the apartments. They had crept it through a broken window to see what it was that the aircraft had tried to destroy. Now they understood. Suddenly, one of the marines looked up and saw their faces peering down through the window. The two sailors jumped back but it was too late.

The marine called out but was drowned out by louder cries from behind him. For dashing into the courtyard was an uncountable number of Oceani soldiers. It became a sea of khaki shorts and white T-shirts (that looked more red by the minute). These soldiers were fresh, and as Anastasya and Gretchen joined their ranks, they felt a new energy flow through them.

Looking through the crowd of comrades, Anastasya saw one man that looked different. He was older, grey haired, and dressed differently to the other soldiers. His uniform was Yolkian, although Anastasya knew for a fact he wasn't. She had found him at last.

"Father!"

As she called, the one man she'd been looking for for so long turned his head towards her. For a second they made eye contact and he opened his mouth.

"My Ana, what are-" The plasma blast came from nowhere and destroyed him. He was dead before he even started to fall.

She screamed. She rushed towards him. She held his still warm body in her arms. He was already dead. Captain Anastasya Revere of the OSS Danger suddenly didn't feel like a captain; she was a girl in a terrible world far far from her home who had just lost her father forever.

The cheers of the soldiers as, for the second time today, they won a battle and as they destroyed the beacon meant nothing to her. She was consumed by grief and anger, holding the body of her father.

Roll for the ground forces' attack on the beacon= 4/20 (+1 for cover= 5/20). Clear attacker victory.
Roll for Anthony's survival= 1. That's not so good.

Yolkia Orbit- 32:43:01 post invasion

Postby Federation of Aligned Species » Thu Jul 09, 2015 9:04 pm

Iros looked down in his lap at the holo pad,"Beacon 1 has gone offline. All men lost." He sat back in his throne,"I hate this world and would rather glass it." He sighed.
The fleet in space is currently in the process of executing civilians resisting the indoctrination method. The marines onboard did not care for the civilians thus carried out their orders without second thought. Suddenly a warship explodes. Iros jumps up,"What was that!?"

"Sir, Yi Ti has been destroyed, all hands lost. Uu engineers messed up in the cooling vents." Officer Fhar quickly responds.

"The Uu will be punished accordingly. In the mean time figure out how to replace my warship." Iros shouts.

Tigrillo

Postby Yolkia » Sat Jul 11, 2015 7:01 pm

The Oceani were cheering around and a young leader, Francisco Reyes, looked at the men, "Alright gents, onwards and out of here! we must still find the other beacon!" the men looked up and rushed out of the building leaving behind the captain and her father. He walked down the stairs and looked at her thinking about stepping in. "Umm... the beacon area must be cleared ma'am..." he wasn't good with women. Her face didn't divert from her father. "the men are gone... you can, vacate whenever." he kicked the dirt that had gone mushy with blood. "I'll be in the back of the. The building if you need anything" he stepped out and left her alone.

1000 men are lined up perfectly in wait for their new leader. out comes a lady, with a patch over her eye and black hair tucked in a healmet. "Listen up boys, general Castilla and the Fortunan forces have not come home, and its our duty to go and bring them back. We, as a hole, have all volunteered for this mission to save their forces and secure the tigrillo-bay from any further assaults. Our will must prevail when times are dark, for we are going to light them up so bright the dead will see them!" the men cheer in unison "We will not fail, we will save our nation for the gods have it that way!" the men cheered again with their echo along the city. "The great Llam guides us to victory! for he knows who give the best spectacles!" the men began a choir -For the Llam- (the Llam is the god of combat and tactics). "To war!" the men begin marching deep towards the roads, the march continues for a couple hours.

Cebrian had gone down the hole. the area was secured and the water was starting to fill up. He went next to his friends corpse. Soldiers along the ditch were caring the dead up by pairs. "Oh, old friend, you have charged from me. You have charged for us. Now i have to mend, the open sea. Someday we will meet again, along with Castilla, we will go to the villa. And drown our sorrows again." he looked down at the corpse and started bringing the memories lost him his mind. the trio's experiences flashed before his eyes as one sees when one dies. "Humorous drunk you, you have left me with a war I don't want to fight. how will I fight this alone, i must, there is no war I can turn down but... this one is the one to finish me. I just hope these aliens get me before you do" he leaned down. took Penultimo's dog tag and lifted his body on his shoulder. "it was-" he stopped, his last words came to mind. "It was the ground beneath you trembling for a place for you to go. You're with Slo now." (the Slo is the god of death and resting) he carried his friend's corpse up the ditch as the water began to drown the ship and the bikes. A watery grave for the metal hunks.. the filled delton-hole will be known as Penultimo bay.

Terset

Jean-Pierre was woken from his sleep by the sounds of Alarms. He was rushed out of his room by his security detail. He deliriously stumbled his way through the hallway following the men. His secretary emerged from one of the adjacent rooms, and began walking with him.

"M. Forêt is under attack we aren't getting any response from them about whats happening. Our last report shows that the city has been hit by landing craft. We have heard nothing from Mm. Béatrice we are expecting the worse."

Jean-Pierre's body was finally waking up fully. "What about the.. uh the... Defense Forces whats going on where are they."

"One of the two barracks was hit. The remaining forces are trying to fight off others. Other units around the Western Covenant are also reporting in similar activities."

"The island?"

"Our defenses are on full alert they shouldn't be able to land on the island from above. However the mainland is being over run."

They arrived at the strategy room it was already bustling with people as they began to coordinate defenses for the mainland.

Forêt Cachée

Major Johnathan, and his team darted between the collapsing buildings. Screams and smoke filled the air. As FoAS troops began the assault on the city. Johnathan had been stationed at the Eastern Barracks which had now been turned into a smoldering pile of ash. A lot of his friends were dead now, and he expected his parents were as well. He had been lucky, and was close enough to the Southern Barrack at the time to get equipped. The FoAS troops had handed in the Northern and Eastern half half of the city, and were slowly making their way South West.

"Sir, Foxtrots at 3 o clock" a private whispered"

The Major turned to see the troops

"Its to many to hit, and run our orders are not for full engagement only guerrilla strikes, and diversions leave that to the bigger parties."

He signaled for the party to keep moving. They approached a plaza it had been covered in dust, and littered with dead bodies mostly Civilian. Near the middle there was a slight movement as the dust cleared a small child was seen whimpering next to their mothers body.

A corporal spoke up
"Sir we've got to get that kid"

"Sir?" A a Private questioned as his mind spun

Johnathan looked over into the Plaza

"We can't we've got orders!" he said clenching his fists in rage

"Sir!"

Two privates looked at each other then sprinted into the plaza. They reached the boy one picking the kid up, and the other checking for other survivors, there were none. The two privates hurried back to the groups hiding spot. They got about half way back before the woman caring the child head suddenly exploded. Her companion turned to face the noise, receiving a hole through his chest cavity. Both of them falling over limp. The child crying tried to push the bodies away from her. A FoAS soldier walked up to the child and dragged her back to her original spot before disappearing back into the dust. Johnathan could only look in horror.

As he turned around the face of his Corporal was filled with grief. He was barely able to mutter "Sh shall we get going then sir"

Covenetian Countryside outside of Forêt

The news of the invasion had been broadcasting in town for the past two days, but Tito hadn't thought much about it. The last time they had been "invaded" he hadn't even see a Covenetian, no one in town thought it would be any different this time around. He picked up his mail at the post office got back in his truck. The sun was beating down on the dirt road as the truck kicked up dust. As he rounded the corner George’s tractor was sitting in the middle of the road. Tito got out of his car to see what the issue was. As he approached the Tractor a giant sinkhole became visible in front.

“George?” Tito yelled out

No response. George came up to the edge of the hole and looked down, it was pitch black. He grabbed his flashlight and dropped down the hole. Suddenly the ground started to shake furiously. Tito almost fell into the hole, but managed to leap backwards just in time. The tremors grew more and more feint until they were barely registering. In the distance he heard an explosion. He leaped to his feet, and up the nearby hill. The town was being swallowed by a worm.

“From the reports coming in it is painfully obvious we can’t protect ourselves from this threat. We are issuing a formal plea for help or we may be without lands once again. Our island is safe for now but we are loosing ground on the mainland quickly. Fortify, and dig in where we can every where else we need to preserve our troops Hit and Run Tactics only bleed them out of our lands.”

The Western Covenant begs any and all Nations to help curb, and destroy the threat of the FoAS Invasion into our lands. We are a peaceful people who cannot defend ourselves from their strength. We call upon you to be our savior in these dark times.

Beacon 2 and 3 are finished being assembled and a message was currently being constructed. Within the hour, a plea for aid would be sent. It had been two days since the western covenant had been hit and three since the yolkia were first invaded. The Eastern Borders of yolkia are all but ash and have been abandoned by both sides as it holds no value. The northern shores have already begun to be colonized and the FAS have dug themselves in pretty deep there. The isolated forces scattered across the country in various cities have also begin to take control of the cities but yolkia managed to hang on to most outskirts. They are doing remarkably well for three days into an invasion. Iros had landed outside Castilla village less than an hour ago.

Western Covenant

Postby Federation of Aligned Species » Sat Jul 11, 2015 11:17 pm

Fleet Master Vixen sat on the rubble of a collapse building,"Good work Marines. Indoctrinate the civilians. Turn them into thralls." She ordered the officers. They saluted and walked away. She recalled back to days when her world was colonized by the federation. Screams of civilians being destroyed by plasma and buildings being sliced in half. She remembers when they erradicated all religion. Slowly she takes off her helmet,"Iros, I'm going to kill you one day."
"But not today," he replied through a hologram appearing before her,"I need you to check out southern Western Covenant. A warship went down their carrying ARX 194. If it got loose, this world could be doomed. Kill it, and burn everything you walk on. ARX 194 is a fungus and will grow spores if not burned. Killing it, is not enough."
A spider tank marches up behind vixen, cueing her to leave,"Affirmitive." She stands up and gets in the tank

Camp Creedo, South of the Yolkian Border

Sand was thrown into the air as the massive armoured quadcopter, Parliamentarian 1, touched down on Camp Creedo’s central helipad. Harris Vmon, Prime Minister of Oceanion, stepped out of the impressive craft and strode into the large “War Tent”. In the centre of the tent, a map was spread across a table. It was a high tech flexible screen that showed Tigrillo and the surrounding area, along with the movement of troops in real time. It wasn’t Oceani by design, but had been bought by the government for uses such as this.

“Care to bring me up to date?” Vmon asked as he strode up to the table in the centre.

General Swift of the Küsteburg Division took it upon himself to fill the Prime Minister in. “Over the last day we’ve been managing to beat them back,” he began, “and we have reason to suspect that, yesterday, Captain Revere may have killed the officer in charge of the whole invasion, someone they called Farsight. The Yolkians led a push directly after in which we supported them and that continued throughout the night. Now, early in the morning we successfully managed to destroy a beacon but-”

“A beacon?” Vmon asked.

Now Operator-General Ripley, who was in overall control of the campaign against the Federation, interjected. “The Federation has begun setting up beacons which we believe may be sending a signal to their reinforcements” she explained. “We took out one but the Air Force reported two others in the city. Troops are just moving in to take those out now.”

Vmon nodded. “Do we have any idea how long we have until those things start transmitting?”

Ripley shook her head. “This is alien technology. It’s hard enough to work out what it does in the first place.”

“I see” the Prime Minister mused. “We can’t take the risk that they may start transmitting before our troops get there.”

General Swift guessed what he was thinking. “Air strikes?”

Vmon nodded. “Air strikes.”

Beacon Two, Tigrillo

The marines had finished constructing the beacon. It stood in the middle of what had once been a schoolyard, but was now a sea of cracked tarmac and rubble. From the skies there came a roar and the marines looked up.

Roll for air attack= 3. Clear attacker victory.

Two fighter jets swooped down, guns ablaze. They were two of Oceanion’s Honey Badger Fighters. Where their name let them down, they more than made up for it in speed and agility. One’s radio crackled with a message from the other.

“Let’s give ‘em hell!”

They dived and wrecked their destruction, firing blindly into the crowd of marines and destroying whatever weaponry they had that could take down an aircraft. But the fighters were only an escort for what was to come. A Judgement Bomber eclipsed the sun over the beacon and unleashed its load.

What had been the Federation’s beacon was utterly torn apart by the explosions that ripped up the ground. The marines scattered and, as it soared away from the scene, the heavy craft radioed a message back to Camp Creedo.

“I don’t think you’ll need to worry about this beacon any more, boss. It’s totally destroyed. Tell the troops to head straight for the next one.”

Eastern Ward, Tigrillo

While the first column of Oceani troops had reached Tigrillo some time ago, the second had only just come within range of the city. 12,000 soldiers strong, the larger column of ground forces approached the city’s outskirts.

Beacon One’s Construction Site, Southern Ward, Tigrillo

The courtyard was quiet now. Anastasya didn’t want to leave her father’s body here, in an old battlefield in a strange city, but she knew she had to. As Francisco had said, the area had to be cleared. She wanted to stay but there was a war on and in war, as in all other times, you can’t always get what you want. She kissed her father’s cold forehead.

“Duty calls, Dad”

Anthony had been fighting with a Yolkian rifle but he still had his own pistol in his pocket. Anastasya took it and turned it over in her hand. On the side, just above the grip, his initials were embossed into the side- A.R. Cramming it into her own pocket, Anastasya pulled herself to her feet and left the scene.

As she made her way across the rubble, she slipped and her leg got stuck in a hole that disappeared down into the ground. However much she struggled, it wouldn’t come free. She stretched out and grabbed a girder sticking out of the rubble to pull herself up by. This must’ve been supporting something important because the next thing Anastasya knew, the ground around her gave way.

When the rubble and dust had settled, the young Captain picked herself up. Her fall had created a hole, perhaps a meter in diameter, through what was clearly already shaky ground. Through that she had fallen to this… place.

She was in a tunnel, like the tunnel a maggot digs through an apple, but massive. It was over twice her height and stretched through the earth beneath the city. She was perplexed for a minute and then realised exactly what was going on. In its assault on the capital, the Federation of Aligned Species had unleashed delton on the city- massive worms that gorged themselves on the city and caused parts of it to collapse. She had fallen into one of the tunnels the delton had made on their way across Tigrillo. Suddenly, Anastasya realised exactly what she had to do.

Beacon 3

Postby Federation of Aligned Species » Fri Jul 17, 2015 8:35 am

The Federation is alarmed and finally concerned about its well being for the first time. The resistance has managed to destroy a second beacon and the forces of the federation are on high alert. Fighters fly over head and a squad of DreadNite are deployed. A central control unit moves towards the beacon and extends its arms and head like a cross and a shield emerges from the body and covers the area of the beacon in a bubble like dome.

Camp Creedo

"Sir, a private telegram for you." The paper was handed to Harris Vmon.

Harris,

I apologize for my reaction last week. You must understand that I am all too familiar with Yolkia, having chosen to reroute every ship in our fleet to avoid it at all costs. It is my sincerest desire to see you wrap up your responsibilities there quickly and safely, and return to a more genteel land where I await you, hoping against hope and reason that you will return. I pray every day for your safety - please, don't sacrifice your life to heroism.

Love,

Tigrillo

Postby Yolkia » Wed Jul 22, 2015 8:18 am

Tigrillo was settling as the dome rose over the final Beacon, the forces and shelling halted, the final bastion of the federations control over the capital was standing in front of the men, they were silently looking at the horizon, Cebrian walked in front of the men, inspecting them for the battle to come, the men in formation stared at the wall over their city, in the midst of the quiet a small singing was being heard. a whistle from somewhere in the crowd, the rithm was a popular song before the civil war as a jingle, a rhythm and dance that the dock men had imported from Oceanion had slowly twisted to a moredancable tune. The singing began to infect the men around as some stepped on the floor and others began the snapping of fingers. Soon, someone got to the cities relay station and began jamming the music through the streets. some generals looked up from their formations at their men, a face of anger filled them as Cebrian walked besides them, he smiled at the general and gave him a thumbs up, the men cheered unopposed.

Below the city, Anastacia told Francisco about the tunnels, he sent an array of scouts down to check the tunnels. “Thank you for entrusting me this information, tell no-one, not even your men” he told her as he headed for some waggons, with the city being cleared supplies could circulate around and a special delivery had reached his hands. some of the most experienced men and women walked towards the waggon pulling down the crates and began walking to the hole.
A man neared Francisco, strong in comparison to him, a special forces division. “careful there missy, dont- Oh! i’m sorry Frank, i thought you were a chick, suffering so much by carrying some boxes” he said whilst lifting a box out of the convoy. Meanwhile, a girl shadowed over him as she lifted two boxes over them.
“fuck off, you're the only chick in this operation” she said pushing through them. “anyway, what's the plan mr Reyes?” the small group of elite soldiers gathered around, some 23 men ready and deadly.
“Well, This is operation Chavin de Huantar, and today we are to deliver these supplies to an underground trench. Some food supplies and other guns to attempt to halt any other worms.” Scouts rose from the tunnels with hand drawn maps. He looked at the drawings and overlayed them on top of a map of Tigrillo. “This is… horrifying. Listen men, we are to take this route and we will supply our men under there!”
they seemed disillusioned. “You’re giving us a delivery job. What are we pizza delivery! Fuck this, we won’t jump in a hole to give other people some food!” the men rallied behind the tall girl.
“Ok then, if you dont want to do this, leave. I prefer to take the better with me.” he paused for a moment, he looked around at the Oceani men that hadn’t been repositioned. “i’d rather take the best of the best, those who don't take down any labour for their country, like those foreigners!”
“I’m not letting someone that is not Yolkian from dwelling down our capitals holes!”, he lifted the box over his head, “we are the extreme pizza delivery men!” the men paused, such a job was excessively beneath them, almost too much. they looked at the Oceani men, whom weren't the toughest men. slowly, they lifted the materials over their heads and walked down the hole, in a line, slowly, looking across the other men who didn’t comprehend why they were receiving hostile eyes.
Francisco rushed towards a radio station, he began playing the music across the speakers of the city, he followed the last of the elite delivery men down the hole.

the space between the dome and the lined men had been cleared and leveled for a perfect charging ground. Cebrian looked around as the men were dancing, he began to smile. he heard the music spread through the city. The song neared its end as another invaded the skies above, this one was the song that played when the civil war was ended by him a mere months ago. He looked at the men, he waited for the jingle to end and looked at the speakers. he called for an errand boy, “under the table of my old office, there is a cassette from a DJ Vir, play the tunes there on the public speakers. This should cheer the tired men up.” the errand boy took of with confusion towards the office. some five minutes later the music began playing, loud with speakers aimed towards the domed beacon. The men, still in formation, were loosed up, the music played on for a couple of hours.
Somewhere beneath the city the elite delivery squad were following the map that Francisco had drawn out. “Ok, we are near the position, place the boxes down and lets rope them boxes to the ceiling.” he said to the men, they seemed confused. “What, you seriously thought we were going to give this to someone else, i wouldn’t have called you for that.”
“Wait, what is this?” the girl lifted the box over her head.
“Explosives, we are beneath the beacon. Those charges are to blow the thing to space!” some footsteps were heard from the cave ahead. “We are here to blow the beacon up, we have more reinforcements in case things don’t go as planned… after some 15 minutes both teams, of about 500 men, had placed the charges on the ceiling, all of the explosives that they could find in the city. “Well, now we need to, you know, run” he calmly said, the charges were set and the men began running some 500 meters from the charge sets when Francisco hit the alternate charges, explosives set on the tunnels to that the walls fall down, thus forcing the explosives towards the path of least resistance, up. they continued running, some mere seconds later the shock wave reached them, the floor rumbled slowly. After this they began running faster and faster, the bombs were set to explode in 2 minutes.they neared the exit as, from some great distance the explosion was heard.

Cebrian and his men were looking towards the dome as the earth trembled beneath him. the song stuttered. As the men returned to formation the song ended. “Men, the invaders are to be driven out of Tigrillo, we are to be the ones whom will see this great moment with our own eyes, look forwards and prepare yourselves.” the men readied their weapons, unsheathed their bayonets and looked at their generals. The ground shook harder again, in the distance as inside the dome dirt rose from the floor, the explosion was heard as the dome contained the force inside it, from the side the head of the beacon slammed towards the walls and it burst out, the dirt gushed out as if it was water. debris were expelled as brown mist watered the floor. The instance was short, the marines that guarded around the shield were engulfed as the ground collapsed beneath their feet.
the roll for the explosions was a:
20 (explosions work perfectly and beacon is out)

Beacon 3

Postby Federation of Aligned Species » Wed Jul 22, 2015 9:49 am

The shield dome collapses as the DreadNite is destroyed. A few marines struggle their way out of the hole. A few Gunships are sent and two land, picking up any marines. The apparent force of 1.3 million at Trillgo had been reduced to 1.150K. The Force pulls back out of range of any enemy force. Meanwhile other cities in yolkia were not so lucky as they face federation occupation. Though a small group of three cities in the west have managed to completely repel the Federation. The Yolkia now face a choice: Go around liberating their cities, or try to push north as the entire northern shore lines and 30 Kilometers inwards have been "Colonized" by the federation. They hold this ground with the intent on staying and have kept much of the indigenous structures intact, unlike th Yolkia East which was burnt to ashes and glassed a the federation advanced on it.
Meanwhile the Invasion of Lichi Bando has seen progress and the Western Covenant is still trying to repel attacks of the federation on their islands

Jean-Pierre hadn't shaved in days his stubble was well into its mangy phase. At least for now the FoAS were busy enough with the mainland However once they had finished he knew the island would fall. If the FoAS wasn't enough a deadly fungus was growing through out his country. Foret had fallen, along with Nic Bruyère, and worst of all Hera. between the fungus, and the FoAS over half of the mainland was gone. The eastern mountains kept the fungus from spreading outside of the Covenant, but it still had plenty of area to grow within.

"Is there any news from our allies or any other nations?" Jean-Pierre asked looking for any chance of hope; there was none."

"Oceanion, and Yolkia are fighting in the south, but other then that nothing. No word yet from our plea, it seems the world has forsaken us."

"This may be the end of The Western Covenant"

Covenetian Countryside outside of Forêt

What had once been Tito's home was gone. The Delton that had destroyed the city now lay dead and decaying as the Fungus decomposed its body. What had once been fields of lush wheat, and hills of wild grass was now a toxic grey land devoid of all life. Tito was in a standard issue hazmat suit which protected him from the deadly fumes that the fungus was excreting. Tito walked by what had once been a spider tank. The fungus had grown over and inside of the machine. The only good thing about the fungus was that it kept the FoAS away Tito thought to himself. The Spider Tanks moved to slow, the fungus was able to grow up the sides causing the Mech to collapse. If the marines had their orifices covered their dead bodies would still be inside; if not well some mush would be in there. The only thing keeping Tito safe was that he was able to run before the Fungus had a change to latch onto the outer membrane. He passed the edge of the fungus reach after a few more minutes the outer layer of his suit was shed and was quickly absorbed by the fungus the next three layers shed off similarly, lighting themselves on fire.

Fungal lands outside Ville de Bruyère

Laurine DeMont was a scientist even during a war. Her lab was well within the quarantine zone. It had been built to withstand extreme put breaks but this outbreak was pushing it to its limits. The outside of her lab was under constant attack and had to be dosed with fire to even enter the decontamination center. She was quite sure that her lab was the last enclave of humans within the quarantine region. A state of the art suit kept the outer most layers temperature well below a level that the fungus could live on. However it meant that she stuck out like a sore thumb on any thermal lens. Luckily she wouldn't have to deal with much of that as the fungus slowly spread towards Bruyère.

The land to her south was mostly coastal farmland, however the northern part was mostly covered in trees. The Fungus had fully taken over the forest as well however the readings were showing up strange. In the farm lands and plains the Fungus had devoured all, but the forests decay rate was much much slower according to readings. So Laurine was tasked with finding out why.

The trek up north took nearly two hours of her six before the outer layer was compromised. It became obvious quickly that something was different. The toxic fumes were stilling being excreted, and the trees and ground were all covered in the grey discoloration, but The forest is still alive DeMont thought to herself. Demont began taking samples of the land. As she cut through the Fungal covering of a tree she had to step back in awe. The fungus had been incorporated into the tree becoming its bark. This by itself was astonishing, however as she delved deeper into the forest it got stranger. The Fungus was adapting becoming more and more bark like yet still fungal in nature. The deeper she went the more strange it became the different types of incorporation lead to the creation of different colors. Soon orange, red and yellow began dominating her field of vision. Soon after purples and blues as well. Not only was this forest alive but it seemed like it was one entity swaying in unison. The vibrant, and alien forest led her into a clearing the "trees" surrounded the area were covered in vines, blocking all visibility. As she stepped into the clearing she heard a click, suddenly a fire ball erupted from beneath her as a FoAS trap went off. The fire was short lived as ground fungus quickly extinguished it. Laurine's suit had saved her life, but the explosion had severed her torso in half. She could only sit and wait wondering if the Fungus or the blood loss would kill her first

Northern Outskirts of Forêt Cachée

Major Johnathan sat with his remaining troops outside of the city. He had lost three more men during his final hit and run before leaving. Tey had picked up 7 other men that had been apart of other strike teams. Orders from his commanding officier, well that was if they were still alive was to head to Mercôté. At the very least it would be a week long journey in which either fungus or FoAS would likely catch up, and he didn't know what was worse.

Fungal lands outside Ville de Bruyère

As the professor lay there, bleeding out, she notices figures in the distance. Twenty Marines approach, half of them have plasma throwers. These plasma throwers burn the land around them.
"Look, over there!" One points towards Laurine
The group approaches and two of the Marines point their rifles at the her. As the group closes in they pass FAS war machines that ruined durring the invasion. A marine looks down at her and then puts his hand to his helmet. He begins speaking in another dialect that is unfamiliar to any native if this world, Federation Standard(Federation Standard is also units of measurement but ilalso is the standard language that is taught everywhere.)
He then turns to the marines,"Pick her up." As he says that a Talon dropship lands behind him and the door opens. A squad of marines rush out in deployment formation and a marine with a red downwards Cresent on his helmet approaches the professor and lifts her up carefully,"We need to get her to Si and So's Warship."
They quickly and safely transport her to the drop ship and a few marines sit on the edge of the doorway as Talon lifts off. Laurine can see the ship lift off and enter the sky . Federation warships glass the land in the distance to kill the fungus, and then darkness as they enter the belly of a warship.

Laurine wakes up in what is obviously a medical center. Fully armored marine are standing around the large room, tending to I armored and armored marines laying on the other hover beds. A marine approaches with two doctors wearing strange garb. She realizes the two doctors aren't human, but another alien race of the federation. The marine has no helmet on and you can see that his throat has been ripped out and a metal tube runs up his neck and a speaker replaces his mouth. Metal bolts are inside his head and his right eye has been replaced with a robotic spectacle that zooms in on Laurine,"You are aboard a federation warship. Let me be the first to stress how lucky you are we found you when we did. Before you sit up, we have stopped your bleeding and put you into surgery. You will never be able to walk with you legs again," he pauses before lifting her covers,"But you will be able to with these." The Professor can see that android legs have been surgerically attached to her,"These are federation technology and you will be able to walk within a day. They send signals to your brain and you will be able to feel your new lower half. Fleet Master Si will be with you shortly to have a word with you." The Marine leaves before she gets to say a word. The doctors stay and tend to the machinery around her.

Yolki Parliament

Postby Yolkia » Thu Jul 23, 2015 7:25 pm

"Gentle men, welcome to the first debate in parliament!" Neil Catalan pops some party champagne poppers, "Well, we are here to represent the will of the people and I know what that is! we have repealed the Federation from our capital and now have a strong hold in the area, Ana Maria has began moving to liberate Castilla, after this we should have a stable grip on the western shores, the cities there have held. Yet, we still have favors to repay, the populace hasn't forgotten those whom aided us when the world wasn't, the first friend of the republic, is under attack. It is our job as Yolkians and as humans to repay such token the only way we know how." the members from the TWCP stood up as the rest clapped sitting.
"He is right!" Leon Agrestre stood from his seat, "We must help those who help us, if not, then we won't be a good place for investment!" he pauses, "But i think we are to defend our trade friend before! Lichi Bando brings more bang from their buck than we've seen from the northern railway, after-all, they've made us use clean energy and damage our industry! Those nut jobs deserve nothing from us!" he still feels his pulse pushing against his wallet.
"This is what politics does to men... they forget who they are." an old but imposing voice is heard, the soothing tones come from Aldrian Montesinner, "You've forgotten who's north young man, there we have the Peruanans." they can't tell who he's talking to. "We just can't do what you say, and leave our brothers, sisters, family and friends there to die... They are us, and we don't like it when others forget about us, they must hate it as-well." he stands "we fought against each other for something that doesn't exist any more, we have been faced against each other for the will of people whom are the reason why this exists. The kings were to blame for the civil war." everyone in the Parliament had served in the war for the I.N.C.A. yet the feeling towards the Peruanans had always been a friendly rivalry. "I don't say we go north for the covenant, I say we go north for the other side of us, Peruanans don't deserve to be left alone to die, if they are to fall, so should we" he sits back down on his chair, silence rings around the dome as the representatives begin casting their votes.
Go north: 78%
Cross the seas: 20%
Do nothing: 2%

Warship of Si and So

Postby Federation of Aligned Species » Fri Jul 24, 2015 10:06 am

"The yolkia have pushed federation forces back out of their capital," says Fleet Master So as he enters the medical bay,"But we will be back there." Si follows him with Vixen and Iros behind. They are completely armored. Vixen approaches Laurine who is still in the bed,"Do you have a name girl?" She says quickly.
