GAY PRIDE BANNED!
CONSERVATIVE PROTESTS MAKE BAN ON GAY PRIDE!
Governor Murakami Taro on press conference.
Mikurajima - 27.06.2015
Today at 11.00 governor of Mikurajima prefecture, Murakami Taro called for a press conference about the gay pride issue that was touched in the city. On the press conference, with support of various conservative groups, Governor Taro declared that gay pride that has been registered on 1st July was permanently suspended and banned as being threat to public security. This made various conservative groups that were protesting the parade for at least two days celebrate. Meanwhile representative of LGBT movement of Mikurajima called the ban "violating of human rights" and stated that he will attempt to go to court with the verdict of local prefecture governor.
The whole issue begun four days ago, when Kiyabu Yuriko, leader of LGBT association of Mikurajima, registered a "march for equality" in local city hall. At first, it made no bigger problems, since the LGBT propaganda ban enacted by Shogun Maki Kojiro bans propaganda among minors and in media, and never banned gay prides in specific. Though two members of LGBT association of Mikurajima were already arrested for breaking that ban, rest of preparations for parade remained intact. Mikurajima prefecture is one of few that did not enact gay pride bans, because the state level regulations do not targeted the parades themselves and instead focused on what was considered "LGBT information warfare against Nihonese culture". Additionally, Kojiro never banned LGBT people serving in armed forces (as long as they do not go public with their orientation, sort of "don't ask, do not tell" policy) and allowed them to donate blood provided passing certain tests like all other citizens. Still, Nihon does not has any anti - discrimination laws (Kojiro stated that it is his personal issue if he feels offended or not, and that state does not care about that; if he thinks that state will care about his lack of balls to take an insult, he is wrong, and if there are serious crimes, they are regulated by other laws), ban on gender change and Nihon does not recognize same sex marriages taken in other countries.
As soon as the parade was announced, local conservative groups quickly seized the streets with thousands of people leaving their homes to protests against the incoming parade. Hino Rei, chairman of local office of ruling National Restoration Party called the pride an "abomination" and stated "it seems that cultural Marxism is coming to Nihon. How about we send it back home - to hell?" Local pastor of Nihonese Imperial Church, Shiro Katashi, said during his sermon "When our first shogun led his samurai on Shimazu against the pagan emperor and defeated him in battle, we were led by two ideas; honour and God. The same two ideas call us again today. Strike at plague that comes to our land today, and remember words of our Saviour: "whoever hath no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one." God be with you!" The thousands of people who protested for few days were trurly an enormous number, but the protests went mostly peaceful; partially because leaders of main nationalist groups promised to halt violence until the gay pride begins, but stated openly that they will not allow it to pass for the sake of "Nihonese national spirit".
The governor, however, learned about the planned parade from local sources and as soon as he learned he and members of prefecture assembly alongside General - Diamyo from local military district enacted first suspension, then infinite ban on the parade. In today press conference he explained why:
"It is in my overwhelming view that local people do not want this gay parade and minority will not enforce it's will over majority" he stated during his explanation "I am pretty sure that the moment the parade will come, various nationalist groups in this region will come with it - and considering how much they outnumber the 117 who so far signed up for parade, out of over two million people big city, I see only one result of that march, and I will not accept civil disorder in my city. Therefore, to prevent civil unrest and protect life and health of all citizens of my region, such steps will be conducted. I will not allow this parade to take place, for Nihonese people clearly stated that they do not want it. According to last poll results 87% of people said "no", therefore it is my duty to respect it. Minority will not dictate Nihonese how we should behave in our own home."
Governor Murakami already enlisted use of Prefecture Militia to help prevent eventual riots, and at the same time Kiyabu Yuriko stated that they will attempt to get pride going.Takara Akemi
