Preface to the Intercontinental Trade Partnership Agreement
The signatory states pledged herein, in order to help preserve economic prosperity between themselves; to ensure the coexistence of the states in economic harmony and sociocultural equality, and to protect and defend the vested rights and privileges afforded to sovereign states both diplomatically and economically, have entered in concert with one another, in good faith, to establish the auspices of a working trade organization, henceforth christened as the Intercontinental Trade Partnership between the Nocturnal States [ITP-N]. The terms of such a body shall be prescribed hereafter.
Article I. On the Utilization of Protective Tariffs in Trade
The signatory states to the Intercontinental Trade Partnership between the Nocturnal States [ITP-N] shall refrain from engaging any punitive tariffs, or constructing any artificial trade barrier between one another while obligated to the provisions of the agreement. The following principles shall be applied uniformly according to this provision:
- Principle I. No signatory state shall prescribe a punitive tariff against another member of the Intercontinental Trade Partnership that exceeds other stated tariffs or port levies on similar goods manufactured in other signatory states.
- Principle II. The signatory states to the Intercontinental Trade Partnership shall create formal channels of dialogue, provided none already exist, in an effort to marginalize the necessity of tariffs through individual free trade agreements.
Article II. On the Sovereignty of Merchant Marine Vessels
The signatory states to the Intercontinental Trade Partnership between the Nocturnal States [ITP-N] agree to respect the sovereignty of merchant vessels from signatory states, and to not unlawfully seize vessels or their real property without due process. The following principles shall be applied uniformly according to this provision:
- Principle I. The signatory states to the Intercontinental Trade Partnership agree to recognize the sovereignty of merchant vessels from other flagged signatory states, and to not violate property rights without due process while in international waters.
- Principle II. The signatory states to the Intercontinental Trade Partnership agree not to enact punitive customs enforcement policies which exceed those standards lauded to other signatory states unilaterally against the individual signatory state.
Article III. On the Principles of Economic Investitures
The signatory states to the Intercontinental Trade Partnership between the Nocturnal States [ITP-N] agree to establish the ITP-N as a forum for further dialogue on the creation of bilateral trade agreements, including financial investment and trade partnerships. The following principles shall be applied uniformly according to this provision:
- Principle I. The signatory states shall utilize all means available to them, through the auspices of bilateral partnerships or regional forums including the Nocturnal Assembly or other multinational organizations to pursue economic cooperation.
- Principle II. The Intercontinental Trade Partnership shall be utilized as a forum in such a manner prescribed by Principle I, through which financial investment, trade agreements, and tariff reduction agreements might be negotiated.
Article IV. On the Eradication of Piracy from Nocturnalya
The signatory states to the Intercontinental Trade Partnership between the Nocturnal States [ITP-N] agree to take all preventative measures allowed under domestic law to remedy the existence of piracy from Nocturnal borders. The following principles shall be applied uniformly according to this provision:
- Principle I. The signatory states to the Intercontinental Trade Partnership agree to take any and all legal recourse to criminalize and prosecute the piracy of foreign-based goods from the signatory states within their own borders.
- Principle II. The signatory states to the Intercontinental Trade Partnership agree to cooperate with one another through the targeting of piracy in international waters, and further pledge never to sponsor piracy through state funding.
