Edward Kenway and his officers have moved from Great Inagua to the capital. They sit in the dark war room, with only one light shining above them. A map sits on a table. "As of now, the fleets are moving to surround the nation," Paulus said, "Combined with the coastal defence flak towers, we should be safe for now. The national air defence system has been brought online. Any enemy plane will be blown out of the sky." Edward stood up, and dropped his cigar. He ground it out on the floor with his heel. "We need to know what is happening on Sjealand. Don't we have some sort of spy plane lying around?" Paulus shuffled his feet. "Well, we do. But it hasn't been used in over twenty years." "Well haul its ass out of retirement! We need it back in service."

The skies over Sjealand
The peaceful night skies over Sjealand are a marvelous sight for the pilots, and so is the grand ocean view. But soon, that faded away at the sight of warships. As the black plane flew over the Sjealand beaches at mach 3, the co-pilot pressed a button on his control panel. On the bottom of the plane, a hatch opened, and a camera lens zoomed in on the beaches. The co-pilot began snapping pictures of the beaches, and the defenses around it. After dozens of high resolution pictures were taken, the co-pilot began observing them. "Amazing how, even at fifty-thousand feet, you can use a camera to see the sailors on the enemy ships," the co-pilot said. "Alright, the pictures are good. Mission complete, RTB." The pilot turned the plane around and began flying back to base. Due to it being a stealth plane, the jet managed to get in and out of enemy airspace with no interference.

ACOCS Kestrel
The black plane's landing gear and tailhook drop, and the pilot reduces his speed, the voice of the landing officer being the only noise he focused on. The intelligence they carried was too valuable to loose. Seconds later, the tires squealed as they hit the deck. The landing hook attached to the second landing cable, and the plane began to decelerate. The plane lurched forward as its speed hit 0. Minutes after, the pilot and co-pilot stepped out of the plane. General Schweinfurt was the first to greet them. "Evening, gentlemen. I trust you have the photo's?" The co-pilot handed him a bag, filled with the photographs taken. "Excellent. Very good work. I hope you enjoyed flying the SR-71." Schweinfurt then walked over to a transport helicopter, ready to take him back to Sudentor.

Alliance HQ

Chernarussian officials in the HQ has recently been advocating for the creation of an elite army between Sjealand, Chernarus, and other nations that may be willing to contribute troops. The elite army will compose of experienced veterans and soldiers from the Alliance nations and have the sole purpose of being a reserve/defensive force and used only when the situation calls for it. The government has also begun selling older models of tanks and aircraft to Sjealand at reduced prices, and has sent around 50 multirole fighters and interceptors to Sjealand, to be manned by Chernarussian pilots and to be used in case of an invasion. Morale is high after the failed Ukranesian attack, although the brunt of the attack and casualties came from Sjealand; the fleet suffered very minimal damage - only 2 slightly damaged destroyers and 1 cruiser which was moderately damaged in the hull. The ships are all undergoing repairs.

The sounds of thousands of boots filled the air as 10.000 veterans from the civil war were marching through the city on parade, before they would be flown to a secret location to join up with the rest of the elite forces. Magnus finished his cigarett as he walked back to his work coordinating fleet movements.

[Foederatio Hesperiae]

From the bow of the presidential yacht, the HN Hesperus, President David Sidas returned from Sjealand and was nearing Hesperian waters. He watched the waves churned as the ship cut through the water and also the rising sun, wondering what lay ahead. He yearned for peace, but he knew that there would be war, a war that the Federation had committed to fight through its involvement with the Island Alliance.

An aid appeared behind him, and said, “Your Excellency, they are ready for you.” The president went up to the main deck, where his staff had set up a desk, on which lay his holy book and a large sheet of parchment, and they had also set up camera equipment in front of it. Sidas initially sat down, but then decided that he should address the nation standing, so he got up and placed himself in front of it. The cameraman gave a signal, and the president began.

“Fellow-citizens, an uncertain future lays ahead of us. Our friends in Sjealand, the nation and ally from which I have just departed, have been attacked by its enemies, which are also ours. The aggressor, Ukranas, has shown itself dedicated to destroy everything that our Federation stands for and beliefs in. I do not want to lead our nation into war, but the actions of Ukranas has forced our hand. We are bound by treaty to defend our allies, and we, a Godly people, are commanded to obey our obligations.”

Sidas picked up the parchment, revealing it to the camera: “This is an executive order, issued in response to a recent petition by the Hesperian people who wish to fight in the armies of Sjealand. Given the strenuous times we live in, I have decided to grant the request of our people.” With that, he bent over and signed the parchment, poured a small portion of wax, and then stamped the document with his signet ring bearing the emblem of his office, making the order official.

“With the cooperation of our allied, I am confident in our ability to defeat our enemies. The attack on Sjealand this morning is a blatant and unprovoked act of aggression by Ukranas, and Sjealand needs our help. We have no choice! What else can we do? The Hesperian Federation is now in a state of war against the enemies of Sjealand!”

“This is not an offensive war, for I would not permit our youth to fight a terrible war over the seas should it not be in defence of our homeland. Our allies are under attack and, by extension, we are under attack. Let us then fend off the aggressors!”
With that, the broadcast ended.

Schweinfurt entered the war room, with the photographs taken from the SR-71 Blackbird. Edward and the other officers were too focused to notice. "You know, somebody could bomb this place and you wouldn't take your eyes off that damn map," Schweinfurt said. "Sorry," Paulus said, "we are a bit too focused." "Well, focus on this." Schweinfurt tossed the bag of photos on the table. "Courtesy of our reawakened blackbird." Edward took one of the photos out of the bag, and Paulus took another. The rest of the officers also took some. "These photos are crystal clear," Paulus said. "I know," Schweinfurt replied, "Isn't modern technology amazing? And speaking of modern tech, where is Manstein? He is scheduled to check up on the new FV215B's." Lieutenant General Guy Simonds looked up from his picture. "He is already at Jilachi R&D labs."

Field Marshal Erich von Manstein walked through Hanger 12 of the Jilachi R&D labs. He was soon in the presence of ACOC's newest tank destroyer. "Here it is sir," a sergeant said, "the FV215B." Manstein was clearly impressed by the vehicle, mainly its cannon. "Ah, yes. One-hundred eighty-three millimetres of pure destructive power. I imagine it will also be outfitted with AT missile systems?" "No," the sergeant said, "that is reserved for the LAV-25's. This vehicle wont need the AT missile systems anyway." "I see. What are its specifications?" "Well, it has excellent range, damage is unbelievable. Its penetrating power is unmatched by anything we currently know of. Armour is, well, decent. However with its range it wouldn't be a brawler anyway. Speed isn't top priority either." "Fair enough. Anything else I need to take back to Mr. Kenway?" "Yes. Tell him that the T92 SPG's are nearly completed. The U-Boat MK. X''s have just been put into phase one testing as well." "Alright. I should be back within the next few months. And I want to see this TD finished by then." "Yes sir. Take care sir."

Within days, Manstein had returned to Sudentor, and informed Edward about the FV, U-Boat, and T92.

Marcus sat down on his table in his governmental building in ArmaSimplex in an undisclosed location. He thought a little, before grabbing a pen and started to write a letter.

To the Premier of Chernarus,
I understand that our relations may not be good at all, in fact it is hostile at best and with the armistice, you are able to help Sjealand, I wish you luck on that. But for now I wish to discuss or to talk about another matter, it is about the Sjealandian tourists currently in my territory.

Before that, however, I wish that you would keep this a secret letter and destroy it after you've read it, as I do not want to be found out helping out either side in this war I do not wish to be intertwined with.

The aforementioned Sjealandian tourists had gathered in their embassy in my capital, rallying and requesting that they are allowed to go home and fight the war for their nation. I had sent a letter to Frederik, and had promised him that I would return him his civilians.

But to do that, I would have to send them over to your territory and would like to have you escort them back to Sjealand since I do not want to be found out contributing to either sides. I know our nations are hateful and hostile towards each other, and I know our ideologies vastly different. But I am sure that we both have our moral compasses that we will have to follow aside duties from time to time.

I hope you understand. We have counted the tourists and it came up with 121 of them, we will be sending them by 3 civilian busses. If you do not trust me, you may send your own transport vehicles for the transfer, or the civilians can cross the borders via the bridge by foot.

"Grab a white flag and head over to Chernarus border guards via the bridge with your squad, keep your weapons away and do not fire at them at all. If they should shoot at you simply retreat back to our borders. Your squad will act as a messenger in this mission." Marcus passes the letter to the sergeant, "and this is the document you must deliver. Dismissed."

The sergeant exits the room and gathered his squad before leaving for his mission.

The General was relaxing in his office, looking extremely pleased with himself. He was not happy when his secretary Komarek barged in, waving around some sheets of paper. The General almost fell out of his wheelie chair as it teetered precariously, but managed to save it in time.

"What in the god da -Komarek, what do you want!"

"My deepest apologies sir, I have some important news. Good and bad news."

"Well, spit it out then!"

"The good news is that the assault phase on the Sjealandian coastline was an overwhelming success! Everything went like clockwork! The bad news is that the escape phase didn't go so well. Less than a hundred of our men got back, the IAIN somehow managed to mobilize all their forces simultaneously in under 5 hours and destroy nearly every one of our troop carriers. Our men did us proud, completing the objectives and taking as many of those bastards to the grave as they could, but I dare say that the attack was a failure overall."

The General groaned. This was not welcome news.

"There's more bad news, sir.

"You're kidding, right?"

"No. Soviet Chernarus has joined the war on the side of the IAIN. Exaequatio is also mobilizing. At this point, we only barely hold the balance of power - Our main worries are Chernarus and Exaequatio, but there's a ton of smaller islands that could pose a problem united."

The General stayed silent, thinking lots of clever things. After 10 minutes, he decided on a solution.

"Alright Komarek, the battle was lost but it has by no means cost us the war. Contact all our allies - Nickel Empire, Inprobus, ACOC, I want them all to be messaged as soon as possible. It may be time to add some more land to our respective governances."

"Here is the legend," he said, "Yellow is the beaches, green is the fields, and red is the cities and towns. Pretty simple." Paulus rubbed his chin. "Ukranas and Inprobus are probably thinking about winning the war by submission. Submission of the civilians, that is. And unless we are desperate, I will not condone killing civilians." Field Marshal Manstein walked into the room. "Sorry I'm late." Edward nodded. "Its fine. How are the tank destroyers doing?" Manstein sat in a chair in the corner of the room. "They are nearly complete. Once they pass the trials, we will be pulling them into active service." "What model did they go with?" "They decided on the FV215B over the FV4005. The 215 is shorter in height, and has more armour." "How much armour?" "I don't know. The Sergeant said decent, but the tank developers version of decent is 20 centimetres." Schweinfurt looked over to Edward. "What did Zuraw have to say?" "He wants to meet the national leaders of the IFCC in person. If I do go, I'm leaving Paulus in charge of tactical decisions." Chernarusso-Armacian Border

The border guards were surprised as the Armacian rebels slowly made their way up the bridge, waving their white flags. No weapons were visible, but some of the guards were convinced that it was another dirty rebel trick to catch the Chernarussians off-guard while the withdrawal was still going on. However, the commander of that section of the border ordered the guards to hold their fire and see what the rebels wanted. As they approached them, the rebels handed them a letter, addressed to the Premier. In the next few days, the letter would work its way up to the government; first it had to pass the censors to make sure it didn't contain a hidden bomb or perhaps a lethal virus. When it was finally deemed safe, it got into the hands of the Premier, who promptly sent a reply back. The letter was given to a group of border guards who were instructed to leave their weapons behind. The leader of the group would have a white flag and the letter from the Premier. In case the situation got out of control, they would have hidden snipers positioned strategically near the bridge, where they could get good shots at the Armacian guards if they were to fire back. While they probably wouldn't, it couldn't hurt to be cautious. An entire infantry company was also on standby near them, to help them if the situation called for it.

Following the revelation that ArmaSimplex was a member of the International Fasco-Capitalist Alliance, Hesperia has been in a tight spot, having supported Armacian interests in the past. Today, the president issued a declaration addressed to the Armacian leader:

"My friend, I cannot believe that your nation, which has long had the full support of the Hesperian Federation, would ever think to betray the trust and confidence of my government. Do not war against the IAIN, for that would be war against Hesperia. If you side with the defenders, with the IAIN, then the possibility exists of kindling a friendship with Chernarus. Remember this, friend."

Excellent. My friends and allies, it is time to consolidate our resources. Operation First Strike was, I admit, a catastrophic failure, but I did not count on how fast the IAIN would mobilize their military. Most of the IAIN do not pose a threat to us, and our main concerns here are Exaequatio and Soviet Chernarus. We cannot act against them as of yet - But what about the Hesperiae Federation? They are threatening our allies who choose to stay out of war. Their army is weak, their defences paltry. With our combined might we could crush them in a few days. The IAIN does not know our next move, and that is an advantage. They can only expect where we will attack, and as such they seem to focus on Sjealand. Exaequatio would take too long and ridding the other islands would provide no real advantage, so we will have to go after the smallest member and destroy them before they can react.
