After an IAIN training exercise provoked the Empire of Ukranas, tensions between Ukranas and the Empire of Sjealand have broken out into war. Ukranas calls for support from the IFCC, and Sjealand draws up help from the IAIN. Nations on both sides prepare for war.

Edward Kenway walks through the aisles of the New Ottawa Green Spot, finding the best flowers for his wife's and daughter's new flower garden in front of The Grand Parliament Building. Following him is his top military officers, including Field Marshal Paulus and General Schweinfurt. "These petunias will be great for the garden," Edward said, picking up a tray of pink petunias. "I agree sir," Schweinfurt said, "its nice that we are taking time to spruce up the GPB a bit." Paulus was getting a bit impatient. He wanted to talk about the war before buying flowers. "Sir, I know you came here for flowers, but we need to talk about the war. Maybe not here in public, but..." Edward stood up and looked at Paulus. "Yes, I know Paulus. And I agree one-hundred percent. But we can discuss it here, nobody is around to hear." "Right, anyways. I think the most important subject is troop movements. The problem is we don't know if we are starting on the defensive or offensive." "Agreed. The only one who will decide is General Zuraw. He knows the situation more than us." Edward paused. "The alert phase has been brought up to assault phase, correct?" Paulus shrugged, and looked at Schweinfurt. Schweinfurt was smelling the roses, and looked up at Paulus. He stood up, and dusted off his pants. "Yes. The nation is on assault phase sir." "Good. If Zuraw gives us enough information, we will declare war on Sjealand. Once we return from our floral shopping spree, I will write a letter to him. I would send a transmission, but even with our unbreakable encryption, I would rather not take the risks."

The letter wrote:

The condition inside the bunker was one of nervousness and anticipation. Nobody was sure who would make the first move, so when the plane flew overhead the AA guns almost fired until they realised who it was. Seeing the markings and the package dropped at the entrance through the camera system, the General grinned. He spoke with a harsh bark, sounding like a drill sergeant trying to have a conversation at tea.

"Attention! You, Komarek, retrieve that package at once and bring it to me!"

The young soldier saluted and did as he was ordered without question. The General read the message quickly, his eyes skimming over the letters and his brain arranging them into sentences.

"Ah, good. They're already prepared to unleash their power, now they need to know where to direct it. Komarek, transmit the following back to them in Cipher ENIGMA-III:"

Message received and understood. Status of war not currently fully understood - Reason to believe we are on the offensive. First act is annihilation of Sjealand - UK navy currently utilizing "Shock and Awe" tactic in this regard. Beyond Sjealand lies Exaequatio, classified as most major threat so far. Do not engage Exaequatio until necessary, lest the full might of their army descend upon us. Once initial assault on Sjealand is underway, we request military assistance - for the time being, we must retain element of surprise. Over and out.

Operation First Strike was underwat as the modestly-sized Ukranasian navy was making good time while it sailed toward the Sjealandian coastline, ready for a "shock and awe" surprise attack. Although the coast was heavily defended, it was hoped that the plan would minimize casualties on their end. Under an hour away from landing, about to be spotted at any second, the troops lined up for a final briefing before boarding the landing craft. The officer in charge of his squad yelled to be heard over the noise of the sea.

"ALRIGHT MEN, THE PLAN IS AS FOLLOWS! ONE, BOARD YOUR LANDING CRAFT AND START MOVING TOWARDS YOUR TARGETS! TWO, DO NOT LAND UNTIL OUR SURPRISE ATTACK COMES INTO EFFECT! THREE, CAPTURE AS MANY SMALL TOWNS AS FAST AS POSSIBLE, RAZE THEM TO THE GROUND, AND GET BACK TO THE CRAFT SO WE CAN HEAD BACK HOME! AM I CLEAR!?"

"SIR, YES, SIR!"

"EXCELLENT! NOW GET INTO YOUR DESIGNATED CRAFT AND GET TO YOUR OBJECTIVES! MAKE THE GENERAL PROUD!"

10 minutes later, the landing craft were on the move as the coastline towns they were to destroy came into view. While they could now see their targets, their targets could now see them, and this was proved by the hail of artillery that followed. Some of the craft were sunk immediately, but the majority stayed afloat long enough to watch the storm of conventional ICBM missiles that were launched many hours ago roar overhead and impact several major points in the coastline defense system. Crippled but still in working order, the fortifications were heavily damaged by the ongoing barrage as minesweepers disabled as many of the floating bombs as they could. Finally, the landing craft were through as the soldiers on board poured out onto the beach, rushing for any cover they could find. Amphibious tanks pulled up onto the sand and started firing at enemy bunkers while ships took up the duty that was previously performed by the ICBMs. The soldiers broke through the shattered defenses soon enough, reaching several towns and slaughtering the soldiers there, civilians were rounded up and marched away and forced to watch as their homes were destroyed. When they'd razed as many of the buildings as possible within the time constraint, the civilians were released into the town that had become a minefield as the soldiers stampeded back to the landing craft and headed home as fast as possible.

The attack had been a decisive success, and would serve as a warning to the world of the power of the Ukranasian Empire. The General was very proud indeed.

The Secretary of Defense sent out a message to all nations involved so far, it read:

"Exaequatio wishes to solve this peacefully. We invite all nations to a neutral territory and settle this like civilized people. Ukranas overreacted to this situation and may bring us into a world war. Planes and ships fly close to other nation's borders all the time. It's diplomacy 101. But instead, such events have been misconstrued and heavily propagandized. We hope logic will triumph and not your egos. Please consider this offer."

Meanwhile troops have been amassing on the various borders of Exaequatio. And all planes and ships ready for deployment. After several years, a defensive line between Exaequatio and the Nickel Empire have been completed, and similar to the Maginot Line, though technologically superior to its world war two predecessor. The nation is on high alert and is ready to send troops to Sjealand at their request.

High Sealord Peder Andersen was standing on Makalös, the first Leviathan ever to be constructed in Sjealand. He looked down from the bridge seeing the massive navy he had assembled. Flådegruppe 1 his division were getting ready to Operation Tyr. The first strike against the barbarian ukranesians. Distant sounds of vehicles signalled he was close. ''Allright men, now we strike back the people who would see our nation destroyed, the have made a terrible decision by invading, but we thank the for that! To glory!''

Planes started taking off from the 5 carriers that they had brougth with them. Within minutes the landing area was in sight. ''Bombs away'' the order went to every pilot as he realased his missiles and bombs, destroying the landing crafts. ''Engage enemy soldiers. We will take out the ships''

The leaviathans huge cannons made ready. ''Fire''!

In a shart moment everything was silent.... then hell broke loose as all the Sjealandian, Yashinese and Chernorussian ships opened ifre on the enemy navy, dealing a massive blow by destroying the soldiers way home. ''Mortars away, focus fire on remaining enemy ships, and on the enemy vehicles, we must be ready for when their army returns!''

Although the objectives had been completed, Ukranas had not counted on the speed of the Sjealandian reaction - Despite the heavy bombing of the shoreline defenses through ballistic missile attacks, the Sjealandian fortifications were somehow and mysteriously unaffected as they immediately destroyed every Ukranasian ship engaged in the assault. Reports of screaming, however, were nothing but fabrications as the shattered infantry regrouped and continued fighting, waiting to make their escape that would never come. The Sjealandian forces had not foreseen the sheer, mindless bravery of the Ukranasian infantry. With a borderline suicidal lack of fear, the soldiers would fight to the death for the glory of the empire rather than surrender and lose their honour. Their staunchness was partly because of their drilling, and partly because they would be killed should they ever be returned to Ukranas after surrender. The squadrons fought to the last and were ultimately wiped out. Back home, the story was told differently...

As the remainder of the Ukranesian soldiers were marched to POW camps, the millitary leaders looked up on the casualties of this attack. Thousands of soldiers had been killed in the atatck on the cities, and many ships were damaged. Besides that casualties came all the time from the mined cities as they didnt kow about the landmines. The millitary didnt even know where the landmines where, only a few area had been located

The Carrier Task Force, a detachment from the South Seas Fleet and sent to Sjealand under the guise of being under a naval exercise, had participated in the battle against the invading Ukranesian Fleet. The entire enemy fleet had been either sunk or rendered inoperable thanks to the efforts of the combined Allied fleet - and with this battle, war could no longer be avoided between Chernarus and Ukranas. A day after the battle had been concluded, a declaration of war was issued upon Ukranas by the National People's Congress, headed by Premier Nikoláy Medvedev.

"Ever since the formation of the International Fasco-Capitalist Coalition, the nations of Inprobus, the Nickel Empire, A Colony of Canadas, and Ukranas have banded together for what unmistakably seems to be for the purpose of spreading and expanding their influence wherever possible, and by force if necessary. While we have previously chosen to ignore this and remain neutral in the conflict for the sake of peace, we feel, with the current state of affairs, that this can no longer be overlooked. The attack on Sjealand yesterday was a blatant act of unprovoked aggression, and in a situation where diplomacy and peace should have prevailed, it has not. They continue to remain deaf to our calls for peace, and Sjealand, having supported Chernarussian actions and endeavors in the past, enjoys good relations and trade with Chernarus. An attack on a nation that is so close to our soil can only be considered as a threat to our territorial integrity as well as our interests. In addition to this, the attack by Ukranas yesterday involved the razing of small towns, where they [Ukranesian soldiers] attacked and murdered innocent civilians without mercy. While the fleet there was initially destroyed thanks to the combined efforts of the Allied fleets, the Ukranesian soldiers still fought brutally, even in the face of hopelessness, as their only hope for escape had been destroyed. We gave them a chance to surrender and live, but they refused.

I implore the nations of the world to stand against Ukranas and the IFCC, whose capacity for aggression and violence is incorrigible. This latest act of armed force against Sjealand and Sjealandian citizens only proves that, and their actions in provoking the conflict and in rising tensions needs to be noted as well. Given the recent attack on one of Chernarus's friends, Sjealand, I, backed by the National People's Congress and the people of Chernarus, formally declare that a state of war now exists between the Soviet People's Republic of Chernarus and the Sovereign Empire of Ukranas. Their acts of merciless aggression will no longer be tolerated by Chernarus and her people, and any future acts of aggression against Sjealand or any of our allies will be met with force from the military."

With the declaration of war, the Combat Readiness Levels has been raised to CRL 02, also known as CODE BLUE. The military is undergoing the process of mobilization, and reserves have been brought up. The Carrier Task Force has been ordered by Naval Command to help patrol along with the Sjealandian fleets and engage with any enemy that dares to approach their ally's shores. Shortly after the declaration of war was delivered to the Congress, the Chernarussian ambassador in Sjealand informed the appropriate Sjealandian authorities of the new development. Chernarus was now in the war against the IFCC.

As a response to more nations joining in on the side of the Empire of Sjealand, an Alliance HQ has been established at an undisclosed location where, the foundation and, plans will be put fourth.

In other news the Sjealandian population are enraged after a brief Ukranesian attack on Sjealandian soil, and many right wing radicals has threatened to take action themselves if the government doesnt start an offensive.

Kenway Family Palace, Great Inagua, 32 kilometres off the coast of ACOC
"Sir, we have received a transmission from Zuraw," Schweinfurt said, "They are most likely on the offensive." A courier walked into the war room. "Mr. Kenway, I have news of a Ukranasian assault on Sjealand. Only a shock and awe attack." Edward looked up. "I see, go on." "Chernarus declared war on Ukranas shortly after. They also made the IFCC sound like an evil organization made up to merely expand our influence." Edward, who was drinking his morning coffee, nearly choked on it as he began laughing. The other officers in the room also began laughing. "That is usual. In this world, if you aren't a commie or a supporter of the commies, you are viewed as evil. Maybe they should see things on our side for once. Anyway, if that is all you have, you can leave."

Edward soon sent a transmission to Zuraw. While he preferred sending letters to avoid interception, Edward didn't have the time to write a letter.

Hello General. I hear you have performed a shock and awe attack on Sjealand. I praise you for doing that. Anyway, you will be glad to know that we have decided that we will be joining you in the war. Not right now, but within the next few days. Our military is nearly finished mobilizing for war. We are still deciding whether to start a full blown landing operation on Sjealand, or if they should follow your lead. Whichever one works best for you is what we will do.

Edward soon gave a speech to the people of ACOC. "Days ago, the IAIN had a training exercise dangerously close to Ukranas. Now, the IAIN blames Ukranas for this war. If the IAIN is brain-dead enough to have a military exercise near a nation who doesn't put up with that crap, then it is the IAIN who is at fault. Heed this warning, enemies of Ukranas. The power of ACOC will be unleashed upon your people if you do not yield."

Commander Svend Andersen burst into the room to deliver the news to the officers of the alliance, currently watching the seas. The top leaders have approved the list. We now have the two things to focus on. Send out the message to all battle stations

1. Defence of our nations, we are not to open any fronts, and are to focus on the seas. Our huge navy should be able to protect us.
2. Instigating unrest in the hostile nations. This will be done by covert agents.

All men are to abide by this and make sure no hostile craft reaches our shores.

Petrokovia condemns the actions of Ukranas, calling their actions trigger happy and irresponsible. It has made plans to send humanitarian aid to Sjealand. The USSP as of now claims neutrality in the war.

Soon after the list of the main goals had been approved and sent to all battle stations, an order was sent from Naval Command to the Carrier Task Force responsible for guarding the Sjealandian islands.

1. Your utmost priority is to help guard the Sjealandian Island with bravery and valour along with the rest of the Alliance fleets and navies

2. The fleet is to be ready for battle, day and night; not being prepared in the case of an enemy naval attack may result in great loss of life.

3. Enemy submarines may be encountered.

4. The failure of a ship's crew to carry out their assigned task may also result in great loss of life; it is imperative that the individual ships of the fleet work closely and cooperatively in battle.

5. The officers on each ship must remain vigilant and wary for any signs of incoming enemy forces.

6. In the case that an incoming enemy force is sighted, an order should be issued for all ships to immediately begin preparing for battle. In addition, contact should be established with the navies of allied countries.

Meanwhile, an additional carrier fleet has begun deployment near Sjealand's coasts, and the carrier in that fleet will launch Beriev A-50s in order to be able to warn the fleet of a potential incoming force. An order has also been directed by Alliance HQ for the immediate deployment of up to 100,000 troops to Sjealand, as well as advice from Chernarussian generals to begin construction of coastal defenses and fortifications to resist an invasion. Thanks to the Armistice, troops have been freed up from the Chernarusso-Armacian border, many of them veterans from the various border skirmishes and experienced. 5,000 of these will also be in the 100,000-strong force that has commenced deployment in Sjealand; they will form the United Chernarussian Sjealand Defense Force, or 11th Army.

Emperor TonyDimes was walking around the Golden Palace which covered 120 hectares along with his Chief of Staff Erich von Falkenhayn and Chief of the Navy, Grand Admiral Wullf Yularen. "So how are things going with the small fleet we sent to Ukranas?" TonyDimes asked Wullf as they walked three abreast down the hallway. "We have sent the convoy like we requested along wit the battleships IMS Nickel and the Löwe along with a battle cruiser, 5 destroyers and 2 submarines." "Erich tell me about the ground forces and mobilization?" "Well we have the tanks you sent to Ukranas along with other minor supplies and the 3 battalions (3,000) of Imperial Bodyguard were sent along too. Also the forces manning the Panther line will increase to around one million after we have mobilized 22% of our total military. As per your instructions Army Group Inprobus was cut from 300,000 soldiers to 150,000 and Army Group ACOC from 130,000 to 65,000." "Good, good, you gentlemen have done a fine job, now leave me for now I have to send a message." The two military commanders continued to their rooms while TonyDimes turned around to his room and started a letter he would send to the coders afterwards.

Exaequatio also sends several Aegis guided missile cruisers, which are capable of countering short, medium, and intermediate ballistic missiles. In order to avoid another ICBM attack from Ukranas, Exaequatio is willing to help build a similar Exaequation Ground-Based Midcourse Defense system. However, Sjealand should note that a construction on such a project will take a very long time and will be very costly.

As for land, ten thousand troops and two hundred Leopard 2A7 tanks will be deployed on the Sjealand islands. Anti-satellite missiles, anti-aircraft weapons, the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense system and other missile intercept systems are put on standby.

"General, Admiral." Eichmann nodded at them. "I am glad you finally arrived." His eyes beamed of hatred. But then again, that was a normal look of Eichmann. "Leave us slave." The slave left the room. "As you know, we are at war now. I want you to send some troops and ships to Ukranas."

"I don't know. You're the general. I have you so I don't have to figure it out! You're lucky you are a brilliant military tactician, or I would have killed you years ago!"
