CADI commander Natalya Vasquez, believed to be a key,
player behind the attack on the Bryistic Embassy in SantiagoBryistic Chaos Continues!
Breaking news on the hour! A recent video leaked by the technically illegal armed organization known as CADI appears to show what the group claims to be the two Bryton staff from the embassy being released somewhere deep into the Rio San Jorge basin. The footage depicts two blindfolded individuals, one with a make-shift cast around her arm, being ordered to run through shallow water, while the film quality deters as a result of the rain, a woman believed to be Natalya Vasquez - a known and wanted CADI mid-level officer - take control of an assault rifle and fire into the downpour. Reports are coming through that Commandante Cristoph Galvan was wounded somewhere in the shootout and arrested by Cuscatlani police - despite escaping shorting after his wounds were treated, and Vasquez is believed to have taken charge in his absence as evidenced by her giving the demands to the Bryistic State.
As of yet the video is unconfirmed to be legitimate, but CADI has a reputation for following their word in the past - again assuming the film was released by CADI.
Vasquez remains a wanted individual in Inyursta for her believed role in the 2009 Nuveau Coronés massacre of sixteen drug cartel members and the extrajudicial killing of Red Ocean leader Hugo DeLomba. All suspects involved in the shootout at the Bryistic Embassy in Santiago are wanted for questioning by the Cuscatlani police, including Vasquez, Galvan, other CADI members, Maggie Latrell and Daryl Wilson, and any information on the unknown Cuscatlani gunmen believed to be in assistance of CADI during the attack.
However, after the escape by Commandante Galvan and the belief that the two Brytons were chased into the jungle the whereabouts of all parties remain unknown until further notice.
Meanwhile, we have received reports that Agent Henri Melendez has been afflicted with an unknown sickness. No details on the cause or type of his illness have been released, but he is currently in quarantine aboard a Cuscatlani Coast Guard vessel and is being treated and examined by doctors and toxicologists from both Inyursta and Cuscatlan.
So far the threat of a biological agent is unlikely but has not been ruled, however military CBRN personel are monitoring him and taking precautions to prevent any further spread if this should turn out to be a contagious pathogen.

More troublesome news in this situation follows the fate of Colonel Retired Armando Nuelle, who stepped up to the challenge by queen Aoife of Dyflin, who is now confirmed dead after being gunned down in a shootout with the queen's henchmen. As evidenced by the video by the Flardanian news outlet FBC News, the queen dropped her pistol and proceeded to taunt Nuelle - while her gunmen kept their rifles trained on the former soldier. Instead of following the queen's threats and running the risk of being shot in the back or arrested on fallacious charges, Nuelle fired his gun against the 12 v 1 odds and landed a near-direct hit in Aoife's chest at a distance of what appears to be around fifteen meters before being gunned down by the overwhelming firepower of the Bryistic gunmen.
So far the queen's condition remains unknown but it is believed she unfortunately survived the initial shot by Nuelle's pistol...
Following the shootout various narratives have come forward, including one by the Bryton's which claim she was unarmed when shot - despite all the cameras recording her refusing to have her henchmen lower their guns - and since many debates and social media wars have ensued contesting the varying accounts and sides of the story.

Cucatlani Embassy, Ludene
Within a matter of minutes, every last Cuscatlani was dead. Still, they died a better death than they would have had they left and been either arrested and interrogated or simply gunned down in cold blood like the Inyurstans had. It also took these gringo thugs a lot heavier fire power to kill the Cuscatlanis than it would have.
They were dead none the less, but they died fighting, they died on their terms and no slithering elitist prick would get any satisfaction from deceiving and stabbing these true warriors in the back...
International Waters, Off the Coast of Gran Cuscatlan
Camiguana noticed its prey had gone silent suddenly - presumably as a result of it sending a comms buoy to the surface. Regardless, the Cuscatlani sub still held a number of advantages over the enemy vessel, and it had all the time in the world to exploit them.
If the Bryistic sub was trying to monitor its pursuer's position and movement, then it would most likely notice that suddenly a large mix of active sonar and acoustic activity kicked on directly behind it and was inching towards them.
While the Camiguana was playing a game of cat-and-mouse with its Bryistic counter-part, the two L8N aircraft were almost completely unaffected by the change of tactics by the enemy sub, and instead were more or less playing a game of predatory birds-and-doomed fish.
The first of the large aircraft pulled low and slow just ahead of the last known position of the CFS Eftwyrd, calculating for its last reported speed and the time since to leave a wide margin for which to drop its load. In a wide U-shape roughly 18nm around the sub's last location the first L8N opened its internal bay and dropped five sonabuoys, operating on active sonar, and continued its low circle around the wide possible location of the target.
It's twin instead pulled to a landing speed (it was after all a seaplane) and came down on the upper northern flank of the area of ocean where the enemy sub could possibly be. As it slowed to a stop, it's crew quickly deployed a long hydrophone and began lowering the device deep bellow surface and down past the thermocline.
From the shore, two more aircraft were deployed. This time, modified Bell UH-1 Huey helicopters adapted for ASW operations lifted off from the coast and began their exodus out to sea. The helicopters were not as fast as the sea planes, but we're still over three times as fast as either submarine, and were well within their flight range to assist the other assets at sea...
Gran Cuscatlan, San Jorge River Basin
As the parcos disappeared into the wall of foliage and rain the two 'released' hostages found themselves alone. CADI was no longer their biggest enemy, the jungle was. Every second spent stewing in the murky waters of some shallow, unnamed tributary of the Rio San Jorge legions of microbes were settling into Daryl's open wound and each different strain beginning to compete for the succulent sugars, proteins and minerals stored in the tissues of the larger organism. Of course, infection was no means an issue unique to remote wilderness regions of the tropics, even a minor scrape in temperate suburban environments could eventually begin to fester and become toxic without treatment.
So long as Maggie kept her arm out of water or mud she could escape with only minor swelling and raw edges of her injury - of course nothing was certain.
The water here was too shallow to house large crocodiles, and the ocassional caimans dwelling on its banks weren't large enough or aggressive enough to bother with humans. But again it was the water itself that was the biggest enemy here. Between the rain, the rivers and the soaked ground it would be nearly impossible to effectively dry their footwear, leading to blisters and eventually Jungle Rot (also known as Trench Foot) simply as a result of walking in wet shoes and socks.
However, to say the jungle was out to get them was misleading. As the rain slowed from a downpour to a drizzle a small band of Iron Macaws - a species of tropical bird endemic to Cuscatlan, Inyursta and the southern tip of Marahao which are known for their slate-grey, almost metalic feathers with a bright copper band around their eyes - could be spotted digging around in an exposed muddy hillside between the ferns and roots. Tangles of vines with vibrant white-and-blue flowers twisted around and hung down from the palm trees on the edge of the river banks.
And this was only the first day in the wild...
