Kaupunjohta, Independent Grand Duchy of Bethausia
The summer days in this former East Europan colony in Southeast Asianna were humid; the temperature in this month can reach a little over a hundred and six degrees Fahrenheit. There were people that even wet their clothings or even get tanned. However, at doesn’t mean that all people have to stay home all the time. On days in the summer, people would go to where the landmass connects the ocean and play with each other or even be lazy all the time. With that, smiles rose on their faces with luxurious mode being available to the minds of all people.
That was what summer has to feel like, but when it comes to the anticipation of an event involving the shedding of blood, the beaches would be filled with a little people or none at all. Hubrecht, the current Grand Duke of Bethausia, has seen this sight when he took a stroll down to the beaches. He wished he never had to experience this kind of anticipation. He never wanted to experience his land to be ravaged by the wrath of the metal weapons of the era.
Walking to the meeting hall of the palace, he scanned through the exquisite architecture before gazing his eyes towards the people in front of him. In front of him were a couple of generals of the Royal Armed Forces of the Grand Duchy of Bethausia, the Prime Minister, and his beloved sister, Judith.
“So, when are the East Europans due to set foot on our land,” asked the Grand Duke.
“Prior to the day before yesterday’s declaration of war by the East Europans, we would expect them to be here within two or three days, after they have prepared their assets for war,” answered a general.
The grand duke hummed in confirmation.
“Well, has the draft proceeded smoothly as planned?”
“Of course, Your Highness. They are ready to defend this land from those autocratic pigheads,” answered the Prime Minister
“Our men in arms will also initiate a preemptive strike against these Imperials once they've settled themselves down. By locating the nearby towns in which we anticipate where the Imperials will set foot on, we will evacuate them before we commence our move towards them,” said another general.
"Good to hear from you, gentlemen.”
The grand duke scratched his back head, prior to the sentiment of anticipating bloodshed of many people still running through his head. He let an exhale in an attempt to subdue the sentiment.
“Brother, I know how you feel. I know you hate seeing people die, even I abhor death, but it is a necessity to defend. Those autocratic bastards have come to take our liberated land by force and we should do something to defend our land. We must take action now,” said Judith.
“Thank you for that uplifting moment you brought upon me. I always appreciate you helping me out in times like these. Now, I must take another stroll out in the sun. Gentlemen, you may proceed with the evacuation of the towns and have this nation on alert. May God be with us all. The meeting is adjourned. You can enjoy these last moments of peace before they come.”
“Don't forget your umbrella,” chimed Judith.
“No need to worry, sister. I always know what I'm doing.”
