Description: The Magnar Corporation signs a series of security contracts subcontracting the security functions of various local star nations out to them. As a consequence, a high percentage of the GDP of the sector from security to manufacturing to trade now lies in Magnar Corporation hands. As a result of this mostly bloodless corporate coup, the Nocoma Courts send a messenger to investigate and meet with representatives from one of the 'independent' powers under the Magnar Corporation, the New Tulsa Colonial Authority.

Potential Greater Impact(s): Having secured their local sector in military terms, the fairly aggressive and amoral Magnar Corporation looks to extend its reach into other, even more profitable locations. Former diplomatic and trade ties with the local star nations are rendered largely moot, while they retain their autonomy on paper, any treaty signed that the Magnar Corporation disapproves of can easily be torn up.

Description: Some nations in the Perseus Arm have taken notice to the Perseid Federation's withdrawal from isolation and the reopening of the Sivulon Trade Network to all interstellar traffic — one of them being the Infinite Sith Empire. With the news reaching Xenia, the Organ of Foreign Relations has reached out to the Sith Empire's Sphere of Expansion and Diplomacy requesting that the two nations meet. The Perseids have sent a diplomat to meet with Darth Ravage, head of the Sphere, and perhaps with other high-ranking Sith officials, quite possibly including the Sith Emperor.
Potential Greater Impact(s): There is a possibility that the two nations may forge stronger diplomatic relations with one another, should the Omospondia's diplomatic mission be a success. However, political analysts say that if an alliance would be forged with the Sith Empire, the Omospondia may come under flak from criticism from more democratic star-states and organizations, especially from GESO.

Description: The Holy Star Empire of Varagoth, which is a humanoid civilization that rules under a cult of man style religion. It has recently decided with recent pirate and maurder activity happening in one of it's frontier systems has called for an all out crusade on a section of space which is reffered to as the Vespae Expanse. Currently it has already begun and the crusade has already claimed it's first system with two terrestrial planets falling to the Holy Star Empire. Any information that has managed to escape the carnage either refugees or some other unknown sort would report claims of out right genocide and ferocious brutality toward alien species which seems to be what the crusade has been fueled against.
Potential Greater Impact(s): There is a growing possibility and fear that the Holy Star Empire will continue on it's religious fueled crusade of hate across the Vespae Expanse and may eventually reach the northern fringes of Gamma and it's border with Delta, the success of the crusade may determine if the Holy Star Empire may continue it's crusade possibly into an entirely different quadrant of the galaxy and may cause even more influxes of refugees and overall chaos in these areas of space.

Description: Owing to the foundational limitations of faster-than-light communications and the complexity of Client minds, Clients of the Swarm need to be shipped between systems if they require travel. One such shipment, of 30,000 military Clients, has gone missing. The vessel carrying the shipment activated its Field Effect Drive (a non-linear form of FTL) in-system of its second to last port of call, and has not been seen since. The vessel belonged to {Sunder Interstellar}, a functional group specializing in interstellar transit with ties to organized crime.
Potential Greater Impact(s): Sunder's own technicians likely reprogrammed the transit ship to bring the minds to a port of their choosing - very likely Port Fracture in the Saggitarian Trade Junction network of the Alpha Quadrant. What they intend to do with the minds remains a mystery, but the fact remains that they now have 30,000 hostages at their disposal. Vulnerable to all manner of interferences, the military Clients aboard the missing transport could be repurposed to do any number of things for any number of people.

Consequently, the disappearance of so many minds tied into the military network has made the Administrators of the Swarm nervous. They are on the lookout for their missing persons and even more xenophobic than usual., since the final port of call was a fringe world far removed from the rest of Swarm space.

Description: Even as the flames continue to be fanned by several Gamman states, causing large waves of refugees and crises affecting neighbouring and far reaching star-states alike, the astropolitical atmosphere within Gamma has grown increasingly tense.

The Crux have become more aggressive towards non-Gamman actors within the quadrant, who're seeking colonisation and exploitation of the once uneasy Pax Gammana and many rumours have begun to carry with the wind. The Crux have allegedly started to take an interest into hired assistance, of groups less savoury than the usual political organisations; for more malignant purposes that've yet to take form.

The full-scope or validty of these rumours are unknown, however, further rumours have begun to spread of a growing apparition within the Dominion itself. The surface of the Crux has become an uneasy calm, as something continues to simmer just beneath the surface, creating inner-political tension throughout the Dominion, that has also begun to affect its subjugated constituent states.

The Crux are also particularily hopeful, after unveiling the finished Sagittarian Trade Junction, and announcing that the Alphene Hub was now fully operational. This new development has displayed the rather complex political atmosphere of the Crux, in contradiction to the rumours of the Dominion.
Potential Greater Impact(s):

- Sagittarian Trade Junction is now open, with the Alphene Hub being opened first.
- Crux will actively seek Mercenaries, potentially raising tensions around its controlled volume.
- Political tensions inside of the Crux over numerous things will begin to affect the Dominion's general 'attitude' and its policies.
- Tensions with the Crux and non-Gamman actors may begin to rise asnthe Dominion becomes increasingly unstable.

Description:
The Gata'jan assault on these three nations has resulted in the butterfly effect with refugees spilling out into Gamma, exploding into a squall of pain and misery, begging the other powers for aid as they are consumed by their own struggles and conflicts. Resources are becoming strained as this has cut a major trade road in Gamma, and is adding more refugees as the Gata'ja tighten their grip on these sectors.

Cries for help, intermittent and weak but very real, have begun to crawl out of these three nations, as their homeworlds are under siege and static-filled transmissions of the running battles can be seen, entire cities burning, bodies lining the streets, camps constructed where the people are forcefully inducted into the Gata'jan way of life, the failures tossed out to the cooking pits where they are made into food fed to both Gata'ja and the newly intitated alike.

All three nations are begging for any help, any intervention that can save them from this force that is laying waste to the scraps of their civilization. Further, information has been found by SotG investigators that nations are beginning to approach the Gata'ja and some deals are being made.

Most worryingly, ships and supplies have been steadily flowing into these systems, where orbital structures can be seen in the early stages of construction. Orbital defenses, supply depots, ship yards, bases to house troops and vehicles. Even as war rages on the homeworlds, the Gata'ja move to solidify in anticipation of their next expansion. Where they will hit next, that is anyone's guess.

Potential Greater Impact(s): The flow of refugees is increasing, as those on the homeworld use cobbled together ships or stolen vessels to escape during the rare periods the Gata'ja fleet formations that let them escape. Oddly, they seem to be escaping at pre-determined times, as if the Gata'ja are /allowing/ them to leave. This will further exacerbate the refugee crisis in Gamma and put further strain on trade routes. As news spreads of their possible expansion and further military build is placing more panic and concern on the markets of Gamma, destabilizing stock prices and raising concerns and more neighbors have to invest in their defenses, forcing major changes to budgets that are increasing suffering. Some extreme options may become considered heavily if this continues on with no opposition.

Precise Locations (If Applicable): Axul System. A galactic frontier system at the edge of galactic space, the system itself is at a location of extreme south of the galactic disk.

Nations Involved: Federal Republic of Free States, Phoenix Conclave, and by extension Geanna [The Crux].

Description: Out far past the edge of galactic space a large vessel has spent the better part of a millennia crawling closer and closer to the Milky Way Galaxy. All external markings of where this vessel hails from have long since been burned away by cosmic radiation and by the deprecation of the passage of time.

Reaching an outlier system more so based upon luck than any coordinated predetermined effort, the breached the system and came into contact with assets of the Phoenix Conclave. Diplomatic Accords gave fruit to treaties and agreements of mutual benefit, and a gag order on humanities entrance within the Galaxy.

However, it is well known how hard it is to enforce a gag order across the stars. Some within the Republic had real fears that it would just be a matter of time before the nomadic fleets of the Phoenixi let word of mouth do its work among their trade routes and port of calls.

Potential Greater Impact:

With a fringe extra-galactic splinter of humanity emerging on the outskirts of the Galaxy, two main questions emerge. Just how widespread is humanity not just within the Galaxy but also in the observable universe. And why is this so?

A new human government and society enters the fray of the greater Milky Way Galaxy. With no allegiances to be upheld by valor and loyalty, and with no treachery to continue to dish out, this group of humanity can forge their own path in already complicated galaxy.

So yeah, it’s a soft, “I’m here”, plus allows Geanna to “receive” rumors from Phoenixi merchants of a unique find out in the far edge of the Galaxy. [She is after all the Phoenixi’s protectors].

Description: The R.u.B War Office released a statement today on behalf of the Admiralty declaring the re-organisation of the R.u.B Navy's Fleet Group Farlight into Fleet Group Talosia, with responsibilities expanding beyond the Farlights region and into the Talosian Expanse. Importantly, the new Talosian Scouting Fleet has been redeployed to the Duchy world of Eire in the midst of the Talosian Expanse. Several important fleet units, including the fleet carriers SMS Siegfried and Roland and battlecruisers SMS Kongo and Haruna have been dispatched, and other major units are said to be on their way to new fleet stations and naval fortresses throughout the Expanse. The expanded deployments of the the R.u.B Navy follows a massive expansion of the Military Frontier in the region, drawn on the influx of refugees from deeper within the Gamma Quadrant.

Potential Greater Impact(s): The forward deployment of the R.u.B Navy into the expanse represents the further strengthening of the Union's hold on this area of the Gamma Quadrant. Given the increased importance of this region of space, and its general status as a power vacuum, it is only a matter of time before R.u.B claims begin to overlap and conflict with other powers who have interests in this section of the galaxy.

Description:Recent pressure from the gamma quadrant refugee crisis has caused an overload on the waystations in the Swift Winds Trade Route from refugees seeking shelter as well as an increase of pressure from pirates on merchant ships that have purchased protection and services from the Consortium’s trade route. In response the Consortium has doubled its current warship production and is planning an expansion of its shipyards. Five more Warrior House Fleets have also been sent to the Swift Winds Trade Route to reinforce current Warrior House Fleets with a contingency to send five more Warrior House Fleets if necessary.
Potential Greater Impact(s):With the increase of Consortium warships the Swift Winds Trade ROute and the areas of the Alpha and Gamma Quadrant that are around it should see a decrease in brigand activity due to the large amount are Avan warships hunting them. However the sudden increase may also be viewed as a covertly hostile action that may not be looked upon favorably by other nations that are within the vicinity of the Swift Winds Trade Route

Description: A stand-off was developing in the Thalassa Apophones region of the Sivulon Reach between a Crux warship, a Betrican refugee ship and two Perseid patrol frigates. The Crux warship had warped into Perseid territorial space days after a Betrican refugee vessel arrived. This recent development in the Betrican refugee crisis may have spurred the refugee ship to react by launching two torpedo charges at the Crux vessel, one of them was intercepted while the other impacted the ship's energy shielding. As the Crux vessel retaliated by firing a barrage at the Betrican ship, the Perseids had fired warning shots at the Crux ship — warning them to turn back from Perseid territory or else be fired upon.
Potential Greater Impact(s): This stand-off was what perhaps the nightmare that came to pass for many sophonts in the Alpha Quadrant, according to a previous State of the Galaxy issue. It is unknown if tensions will escalate rapidly in this fringe region of the Omospondia's territory, but so far it is not looking good for the Perseids and this new third party. However, what may be of certainty would be a future update of the Omospondia's heightened alertness levels after news of this incident would reach Xenia.

The USC 3rd fleet has been given the mandate to seek out and resuce any and all refugees and migrants in the Beta Quadrant and render assistance if needed and escort or transport any and all Migrants to the safety of the USC.
Potential Greater Impact(s): Potentially an over all reduction in migrant vessels wandering the vast void of the Beta quadrant, with the encouragement by the USC for migrants to seek asylum and refuge on many of the USC's colony worlds. As a side affect the patrolling of space in the Beta Quadrant by the USC could potentially redice pirate activities in the regions affected.

Ozlukar raiders attack the settlement of Pontorson-sur-Ciel, under the nominal protection of the World School, and are driven off by uulchi forces, spurring diplomatic contact between the two species.
Potential Greater Impact(s):
Should these two species fail to come to some sort of arrangement regarding the territorial status of the swathe of systems surrounding uulchi space, conflict could disrupt trade and add new populations to the tidal wave of refugees currently overwhelming galactic institutions. However, if an agreement is reached and war averted, there still remains a threat- flourishing trade between the two species, or between the Ozlukar and the various polities of the Huañak Cluster under uulchi influence, could lead to an intensification of the young species' interstellar raiding and perhaps even pass on military technology that they might put to use.

The Dear Leader's Farming world of Krobol has only a limited defense force which is under assault by the vandals. The Raider-Xeno Coalition has suffered losses but still have more strength than the defending militia units, if Krobol falls then the Raider-Xeno Coalition will have acess to a world of food-stuffs which could keep their forces well fed indefinably.
Potential Greater Impact(s):A larger increase in pirate activity and in general quadrant crime, a new pirate stronghold

Given the nature of December and the holiday season as it is, being prevalent not merely in the United States but throughout much of the world and through a myriad of cultures, I think it should come as no surprise that the December 30th, 2015, deadline will be extended to January 7, 2016, to not apply undue pressure to Editors or submitting parties. A lot of people are traveling this time of year, busy with gatherings of friends and family, and otherwise have a lot on their plates to begin with; giving a bit of slack in this month's deadline, much like we did during July 4th, will allow the Editors to more thoroughly review submissions and grant those interested in submitting a bit more time to submit. As such, for this month, submissions will be accepted as late as December 31st, as well.

Hopefully everyone understands the reasoning for this. A new year is upon us and we're all looking forward to greater contributions and involvement from the community.

Description: Due to the Royal Navy being engaged in the Alivant against the Zarithians, piracy has spiked in Taledonian space. After locating a small nation in the Alpha quadrant, Taledonian pirates have repeated raided Krosanan shipping, taking slaves and merchandise for sale in the black markets of the Kereth system. Following the trail of the most recent pirate activity, the Krosanan military has arrived in Kereth, and mistaking Royal Navy vessels for pirates, have opened fire upon them.

Potential Greater Impact(s):With an international incident now occurring as Taledonian and Krosanan warships battle it out, the event could gain momentum into a full scale war between the two nations, leading to a battleground stretching from the Gamma to Alpha quadrants.
