How will Globus respond to the Otulian invasion of Andallion?

Merridell - Central and Legislative officials have heatedly debated during the past twenty-four hours on Globus’ response to the Otulian invasion of Andallion. Less than forty-eighty hours ago, the Otulian air force initiated bombing runs on Andallic territory. No casualties have been reported yet; due in part that Otulia is not bombing civilian areas.

Central Office Press Secretary, Remy Reid, told reporters that President Comte has deliberated with the National Defense Council. Reid told reporters that Comte had discussed options of support for the Andallic government. As we reported earlier this morning, two P-3 Orion’s and an F-4 Phantom II departed Dove Mound Air Force Base in a Southeasterly heading, towards Andallion and Otulia. When asked if the planes were deployed for reconnaissance on Otulian forces, Reid said that the planes were just flying their training routes as usual.

A source told Globus News Network that GNS Unity, one of the navy’s six hospital ships, is scheduled to depart to an unknown location tomorrow afternoon. We tried contacting multiple naval officials about this, and all denied that the GNS Unity would be departing. One stated that the GNS Unity is undergoing maintenance that will take another three months to complete.

Leyton Munro, a delegate for the Conservative party, said in a press statement this morning, “Otulia is grabbing land that they hold no rightful claim too, and using it to further spread their corrupt communist government. Every second we sit back and do nothing, communism spreads.”

Hassan Thomson, a delegate for the Green party, responded to Munro’s statement in his own statement. “[Munro’s] statement is preposterous. Otulia is not a communist government. Since when did an efficient social market economy equate to communism? The people in Otulia have the same opportunities that we have here. Justifying our involvement by saying that communism is spreading is degradable. Now, I don’t support the Otulian invasion of Andallion, as hardly any house delegates do, but I wouldn’t go as far as spreading rumors about a communist takeover just to gain support for the opposition of Otulia.”

Most House Trustees and Delegates oppose the invasion of Otulia, but are split on how, and if, Globus should respond. Secretary of Defense Jay J. Hughes said that Andallion would greatly benefit from any assistance, whether it be support by supplies or military support. “The Andallic Army is undersupplied, and militarily weak when compared to the Otulian forces. Any support given to Andallion could turn the tide of the war to favor Andallion,” Hughes said.

A small group of about thirty people protested in front of the Capitol Building this morning with signs saying “Aid Andallion, For the Good of People,” which is a reference to Globus’ national motto.

In our latest poll, 47% of respondents said that the Globus Defense Forces should aid Andallion by using only the air force and navy, while 19% said that the GDF should aid Andallion by sending ground troops into Andallion. As for supporting Andallion with supplies, 62% were in favor.

Police Strike in Dozens of Counter-Terror Raids Across Southern Cestyr

Police today embarked on one of the largest raids in the modern history of Cestyr, striking under the cover of darkness early this morning at twenty eight different properties across Southern Cestyr, arresting fourteen men and seizing dozens of illegal firearms in the process. The raids come on the back of heightened terror alerts placed on Cestyr due to rapidly escalating tensions between Catholics and other Christian denominations within the nation.

The raids took place simultaneously, shortly after 0300 hours, and involved more than 200 police using armoured vehicles and flashbang grenades as they forced their way into houses, warehouses and a Catholic business and religious center, much to the shock and confusion of residents in the area at the time. 17 of the raids took place in the northern suburbs of Eindhoven while another 9 took place in the western suburbs of Bellerieve.

Kathryn Del Mar, 23, of Springvale, Bellerieve told reporters how she awoke to the sounds of flashbang grenades detonating, breaking glass and the yells of heavily armed police.
"I thought I heard a noise so I looked out the window to see what was going on and there were cops everywhere, and there were all these flashes from the things they threw into the house"
"I ran outside to have a look and then there's this policeman who says 'Get back in the house and lock your doors', so we went back in and hid in the bedroom"
"It was really scary, my boyfriend and I had no idea what was going on"

Superintendent Melville Nicholls of the Southern Cestyr Police Command stated the raids were the result of a long and arduous investigation into a plot to bomb a number of churches and schools across the state. It was the belief of the police force that the state was in imminent danger of a terrorist attack with the potential to claim lives.
"This has been something that we've been looking into for quite some time, we've been well aware of this cell operating for the past few months"
"What changed last night is that we obtained evidence that suggested a co-ordinated attack had been planned and was about to take place in the coming days. We felt the risk to the community was unacceptable by allowing these people to remain in the community."

The fourteen men arrested, all aged between 17 and 34, appeared before a brief, special court hearing held at 7am this morning. All have been denied bail and will be held on weapons charges while investigators continue to build the case against them.

The arrest comes at a time where tensions between religious groups has reached a fever pitch on the back of international conflict abroad. The revelation about the planned attack comes only two weeks after a drive-by shooting occurred at a Catholic church in Alesso, Monaro. Critics of the government have urged party leaders to rest Cestyr's strict secular policies and deal with religious violence in the community.

Arrests raise support for new terror laws

Proponents of new terror laws, which would allow police to hold terrorism suspects without being charged with a crime, have used today's raids as an example of why the new laws are crucial to national security. CLP member for Eindhoven North:
"This is a raid which only took place because the police were able to charge these terrorists with other crimes. If they hadn't committed other crimes, they be back in the community right now and free to continue their crusade. How insane is that? We need more powers to police and we need to stop defending people who seek to abuse the rights we give them."

New Steps Taken to Combat 'Mega-Drought'

Ivana Ilotov - With water levels having reached critical levels last month, the Department of Agricultural Management today announced it is extending the estimated length of the drought by another year, and is officially declaring a 'State of Crisis'. for the western regions of the Empire.

"We've seen three more tributaries of the Krakartus dry up completely. The rate of damage is slowing, but the damage is still ongoing. We will have to extend the estimated drought time to until the end of 2015, at the earliest estimates."

The drought has sparked the "Crisis of the Krakartus". The Krakartus is the largest south-flowing river in Defese, with multiple tributaries and watersheds. It floods regularly, and has been used since the dawn of agriculture to irrigate crops and provide food for Aeynerilis. Moisture and wet air flowing from the north and north-west are blocked by the mountains that define the border of the Empire, meaning the river is the only reliable means of irrigation and fresh water.

The drought officially began in 2010, with water levels being at their historical lowest since measurements began in 1873. Since then the Imperial Government has taken steps to combat the crisis, and what it describes as 'dangerous and short-sighted policies of pre-Imperial administrations' that lead to the crisis growing exponentially, threatening the region that carries a share of 62.5% of the Empire's total food production.

Esperance International has sent a team of investigators and engineers to measure the current water flow of the river, while the Department of Agriculture has been granted authority to give employment to farmers who's farms have been forced to shut down due to the shortage of water, loss of topsoil, or the growing desertification. Communities in the affected areas are also now obligated to comply with strict water rationing, limiting their use to government-approved uses.

The D.A.M. now also have authority to conscript unemployed farmers into a new Krakartus Reclamation Corps a civilian organization overseen by a Lieutenant General who will be appointed later this week. The Corps will be responsible for massive public works projects such as greenbelts, new canals, top-soil retention, and community outreach to ensure that even during this crisis all able-bodied are given employment and the opportunity to invest in a better future.

Officials remain hopeful that the united response to the crisis will lead to a halt to the desertification and loss of farmland by the end of the decade.

Five Months Til Council Election, Political Posistions You Should Knew Before Voting

With the Bi-party debate between the Government and Opposition leaders finishing last night with a very good performance from both leaders and while some of us enjoyed them let's face it, not a whole lot of people actually watch them but they know that it's almost exactly five months till its time to vote in Council of Common Elections. In five months we will be electing 210 Councilers from 70 districts with 3 representatives from each district as per the Single Transferrable Voting system. The current 11 parties in the Council go as shown.

With 106 seats the current Center/Center-Right Government lead by the Reform party they heavily outweighy their opposition 67 seats held by the Opposition with the Insaeldic Agrarian Party. The Crossbranchers (parties which opt out of coalition negotiations) make up 16 seats, and Non-Coalition Members (never entered any formal coalition negotiations) makw the remaining 21 seats in Council. Today will be taking a look at the politics of each party in each coalition to give you a breakdown of the current national politics.

In Government we have five parties the Reform Party of Insaeldor, Liberal Democratic Party, Social Democarcy Party, Civic Alliance/66, and Coastal Party. First let's look at the Reform party, the party has loose classical liberal standings with the general description being "left on on Social Policy ight on Economic Policy" but its a bit more deeper than that. We usually do see a progressive stand towards social issues yes but as far as being right wing on social issues while true is a bit more nuanced then that ranging from Supply-side economic theory to Keynesianistic economics. The Liberal Democratic Party is a junior member of the Government Coalition and is generally the catch all left wing party with center left social and economic policies with a strong base in just of age voters and university students. The Social Democracy Party is just as the LibDems is a general catch all party although is far more left wing and has a strong Liberal Republican base. The Civic Alliance/66 is a center-right party and one of the few Ibsenist parties still left with any

national representation, and the Coastal Party is a localist Conservative party which represents mostly districts which rely of fishing and other oceanic economic bases typically a free market and communal capitalist party.

In Opposition we have the Insaeldic Agrarian Party a center/center-left party party which operates as a Socially Conservative yet Economically left wing party that has its major hold in power in the rural midlands and south. The junior coalition member the Christian Left is in very much the same as the Agrarian Party but far more hardline in its ideological religious communalism. The opposition unlike the Government Coalition is far more united ideologically and has made them far more united in their causes which has been a fairly large headache for the current Government Coalition.

The Crossbranchers are constructed out of parties that had entered into coalition talks but for some reason we're not able to enter into the coalitions. The Christian Democrats are a Center-right political party based around Christian Democratic principles and base themselves more as "moral business Conservatives" while the Justice Party is centrist party based mostly around Government Transparency, Fighting for Social Liberties, and has a base of Gender, Racial, and Socio-Economic egalitarians and activists. The parties don't have major support given some of their more niche politics but have seen a rise in the opinion polls since the 2011 election.

The Non-Coalitionist are political parties which were for one reason or another we're not invited into any coalition talks and this group consist of the far-right Insaeldic Nationalist and the far-left Communist party. The Nationalist party is a far-right civic nationalist party which aims for a strong national infrastructure, increase of the National Military, and imposing strict immigration system. The Communist is what it calls a "unified Communist front" meaning it doesn't identify with any set

theory of Communism but most tend to be the the agrarian strain.

As per possible coalition building many thing the the current Reform party lead coalition will shuffle out the LibDems and SocDem's in of accepting Justice and the Christian Democrats into their coalition. King Varúlfer who is responsible for leading government coalition negotiations himself has said the current coalition is to diverse to get anything done in an effective manner and has said he also wants a more Ideologically narrow coalition.

So givin all this information even given our somewhat glossing discriptions we still feel this is a paper you should read. With 11 parties to choose from next October it should be a good and fun election season with a great dynamic.

Shahrbāni Promises Support to Otulia

DARYĀSHAHR - Following the breakdown of relations between Otulia and Andallion, and the beginning of armed hostilities, the Army of the Free Assembly has promised to aid the Otulian war effort. This is widely seen as an act of gratitude for the Otulian refugee program, and may be mostly symbolic; it is unclear what kind of aid the Free Assembly can render the Otulians, given Mediterranea's distance from Otulia and the current engagements in Siracusa and Nasirestān. Nonetheless, this may further cement the alliance between the Free Assembly and the Otulian government.

General Shahrbāni today released a statement denouncing the "aggression of the racist, imperialist Andallic state" and promised "the utmost cooperation of the Army of the Free Assembly with the forces of the Otulian Republic." He was joined by several Free Assembly delegations. Speaker of the Assembly and infamous opponent of Shahrbāni Roxana Kosmatos offered a cautious show of support, endorsing both the Otulians' efforts to spread democracy and their aid to the Mediterranean people. She added, however, that the Liberal Front would never support the use of Free Assembly armed forces for anything but the defense of Mediterranean soil and citizens.

Not everyone agreed with the pair of unlikely friends. The newly-admitted Association of the Believers, the party of controversial firebrand Āyatollāh Hushang Nasrollāh, refused to endorse either side of the conflict. The large delegation abstained from a losing vote to condemn the Andallic government, claiming that "Muslims have no friends in a war between racist feudalists and secular fascists." Many associations representing the mercantile districts of Daryāshahr and Shahr-e-Ketāb voted against the resolution itself, fearing the loss of revenue and jobs should Andallion close trade relations. Finally, the northern Workers' Republic urged soldiers on both sides to lay down their arms and join in international anarcho-socialist revolution.

The actual degree to which Mediterraneans may influence events in doubtful. The ports of Daryāshahr and Eskandariyeh (Alexandria) may serve as safe havens for the Otulian Navy should international waters become unsafe. If the war were to drag on, Mediterranea could provide an industrial base safe from the ravages of war, especially as arms manufacturers see demand from the Siracusa conflict die down and look for new markets. Finally, Andallic agents could support the Siracusa terrorist insurgency as a way of damanging Otulia's assets abroad and those of her allies. All of this is speculation, however.

Cestyrian officials deny any link between the developments in Carpathia and the arrest of several hundred, including some Mediterranean nationals, in anti-terror stings.

Wahat Falls To Al-Husseini, Civil War Believed To Be At End

Under the cover of darkness, Nasiri Armed Forces battalions loyal to President Khaled Al-Husseini entered Wahat and by dawn, the Revolutionary Guard had surrendered. This comes as Emir Meshal Al-Subai is in Lyncanestria and as Karim El Basir, is currently comatose in the hospital. The Revolutionary Guard had recently collapsed after the defection of Aqil Hakim and 5,600 Guardsmen, the majority of the remaining guardsmen, to his own cause, which he calls the Islamic State of Nasiristan, and the breaking of the siege of Nasiriyah. President Al-Husseini is expected to move the capital to Bashir, a city untouched by the civil war, at least temporarily. The President himself was unavailable for comment at the time of writing.

Without the charismatic command of Karim El Basir, the Revolutionary Guard quickly faltered. As Aqil Hakim withdrew from Nasiriyah to southern Nasiristan, near the Mediterreanian border, the Armed Forces loyal to President Al-Husseini mounted a counter assault, capturing the key strategic cities of Al-Qubs and Nabil in a matter of days. Airstrikes have been routinely hitting Wahat since the start of hostilities. Proverbially, the war began with a bang, the attempted coup d'etat on then-Prime Minister Khaled Al-Husseini, and ended with a whimper, the statement of surrender by Talib ibn Jalal Friday morning in Wahat.

The war, which has been raging since February, has claimed the lives of approximately 12,500 Nasiris, many of whom were civilians.

Many forces initially supported El Basir's Revolutionary Guard, but such foreign and domestic support has waned as the war progressed. A vastly unpopular move by El Basir, was to declare an Emirate, which was seen as an undemocratic return to the monarchist policy that has afflicted Nasiristan for so long. The move was also seen as an act of blatant cronyism, as Meshal Al-Subai was notorious booster of the Revolutionary Guard. As for Mr. Al-Subai's whereabouts, he is suspected to still be within in Lyncanestria, where it is likely that he will apply for political asylum.

Foreign support was also great for President Al-Husseini, with the Federal Republic of Otulia going as far as to declare war on El Basir's government. Otulian involvement was limited mostly to airstrikes, but at times a ground assault was feared. Assistance was provided by Mediterreanian Shi'a militias, who are believed to be currently fighting Aqil Hakim, in order to protect Nasiristan's Shi'a minority who were being targeted by the Sunni Revolutionary Guard.

Karim El Basir was placed under house arrest in his hospital room, where he remains in a deep coma as a result of the Revolutionary Guard Headquarters Car Bombing on April 22nd.

While the war with Revolutionary Guard is over, peace is not yet certain for Nasiristan. It is a nation weary of war, but Aqil Hakim's sizable army of radical Islamists still poses a distinct threat. Tensions in Andallion and Otulia continue to threaten the stability of Carpathia as a continent. The surrender of Talib ibn Jalal, acting as commander of the Revolutionary Guard since the bombing, officially declared the Emirate of Nasiristan to no longer exists, which establishes the primacy of President Al-Husseini's government over Nasiristan. Although President Al-Husseini is yet to speak on the subject, there is no doubt that his words will be filled with both joy and vigilance.

Land development grinds to a halt in the road of economic activity, businesses stop expansion on their rotting tracks of prosperity, consumer confidence is low-to-nothing at all, unemployment takes the skies, and ships of prime real estate value sink.

For the first time in three decades and a half the Imperial State of Viridisolum will experience an economic mishap where the charts point down instead of up within the next two years. Stock markets, most importantly the Viridisian Stock Exchange, are in dangerous waters and investors foreign and local alike are starting to either withdraw trust or look elsewhere or both. Firms are losing firm grasp on consumers who are primarily concerned with their employment, finance, assets, family and future. North Minean Oil and Gas Company Stations in Central Viridisolum had to call in oil depots to re-supply after droves of people alongside lines of vehicles drained their branches of gasoline.

Imperial Crown Ministry of Economy calls for calm and order, to stand instead of sitting out the coming crisis, and to keep calm and look only at the bright future ahead. Economists although have foretold that the crisis will not be the same as what Viridisolum has endured to survive and thrive in the late 20th century. No further official statements on the crisis were made so far from Government Palace. Imperial Bank of the North Minean Islands anyhow gave their word to attempt reinvigorating the national economy in spite of inflation.

Threatened with encirclement, the 4th Army has been ordered to conduct a retreat to the north. After more than a week of intense fighting, the 4th Army alone suffered 45 percent casualties (around 45,000 soldiers) while dealing several thousand Otulian casualties and destroying many tanks and vehicles. However, the defenses made no differences to the outcome of the war, as the 4th Army has begun to shatter. With the 4th Army at the mercy of the Otulian forces, the possibility of encirclement at Yohannesbourg is almost inevitable.

By the morning of April 30 it was estimated that approximately 10,000 people had gathered around the Lyncanestrian, Lanosian and Sargossan consulates, while some 2,500 evacuees had already been accepted into the respective compounds. The crowds prevented the use of buses for transporting evacuees from the consulates to the airport and the Embassy gates were closed to prevent the crowd from surging through. Eligible evacuees now had to make themselves known to guards or Embassy staff manning the walls and were then lifted over the walls and into the Embassy compound. Among those arriving at the Embassy were former Lord Governor Anthony Lecreu, and Lieutenant-General Baptise Crusean.

Mass Grave Found in Vyborg

Yesterday the GNA liberated Vyborg from Imperial forces, who were force to retreat on saturday. When going into the town GNA forces discovered a ditch half filled with dirt, and unearthed several dozen bodies. The final count puts the number of corpses at 43, and identification has marked several of them as former GNA soldiers that were captured or MIA after skirmish or battles. GNA spokeswoman Lyubochka Lesya announce this morning that "this war crime must be met with a harsh response by the international community."

It is suspect that the GNA soldiers were executed without trial or respect of human rights after GNA forces were known to take the town, rather than let GNA forces liberate them. This theory is supported by the prison camp being only 500 feet away, and the grave being only half completed, and the bodies still being in prison garb or even GNA fatigues. As well as this, Aeynerilis has a long history of brutality against GNA prisoners of war, with captured soldiers and even their families being targets of retaliation by the government if identification is made. This is why all photos of GNA soldiers or affiliations are censored, even on this whistleblowing website.

We plead to the region to respond to the illegal actions of the Imperial government. The Gerlotion National Army has been fighting many years but cannot match the power or brutality of the monster we face. The Gerlotion Republic is being illegally occupied by foreign invaders and has been subjected to human rights abuses just like these for many years. Until world understands illegal and disgusting actions by Aeynerilis done to Gerlotion people and works to help GNA bring freedom and democracy to all our brothers and sisters then we will continue to be facing these brutalities.

REGRETS ORDERS HALT!; APPLAUDS FREE ASSEMBLY

REKO, Otulia- Following conversations with her top military staff, Chancellor Regrets announced today that all Otulian forces, who until recently were conducting a full offensive against the Andallic Royal Army, would surround the city and then cease all other combat operations. The Chancellor said that she was "incredibly pleased" with the success of the operation, and thanked "those brave servicemen and women who made such an astounding success possible for Otulia."

The optimistic statement appears to be an attempt to overshadow what even some of Regrets' own Socialist Party call "atrociously high casualties." According to a Ministry of Defense briefing given this morning to Parliament and made public record, 6811 Souznik Militia and Federal Army soldiers were wounded, and 197 killed. The Right Party, which has called the Chancellor's free-spending habits "fiscally irresponsible and guaranteed to plunge this country into a mounting spiral of debt," filed a motion of no confidence against the government; Vice-Chancellor Breathless Cloud tabled the motion pending reintroduction. Cloud promised to bring the motion to a vote should the Chancellor restart hostilities with Andallion. Thousands of protestors marched on Reko to demand that the Chancellor resign.

Senate President Massimo Fagolio, whose powers include signing treaties with foreign governments, stated the conditions under which he would sign a deal.

Chairmanship: The Senate President said that talks would only occur if Esperance International agreed to host a conference between Otulia and Andallion. "We will fully respect and obey any decisions that Esperance International, as impartial arbiter, may have in these discussions, and will take them with the full weight that their well-respected organization has."

Territory: The Senate President wants Andallion to acknowledge that the territory occupied by Otulian forces is no longer Andallic. The Senate President said that such areas would become an "autonomous, republican territory" whose final government and constitution "would be left at the discretion of the people of that area." The Senate President even hinted that that area might be combined with Kazuma, a large Otulian province, to create a communist country of the unstable area. Such decisions would be "put up in a democratic referendum, overseen by impartial observers, hopefully from Esperance International."

Reparations: Fagolio stressed that no deal would be forthcoming unless Andallion "agrees to, very immediately, pay back Otulia for all its expenditures of war, plus interest." The Senate President hinted at a 10-year plan on 35% interest.

Prosecution: Mr Fagolio has asked Esperance International to set up a tribunal to try "all those parties who are suspected of systemic discrimination against Otulians." This would include most officials of the former Johannic Royal Intelligence Bureau, as well as most of the Crown Council and many police and election commission officials.

Army: The Senate President wants Andallion's army to be restricted to "under 20,000 total land forces, with a navy of similar proportion, and no air force." The Senate President has also said that Otulia should have the right to intervene in Andallion if any of the treaty clauses are violated. In an ambiguous statement that could either be a jab at the defeated Andals or a helping hand, he promised that Otulia would fund the restructured Royal Army for at least 10 years, provided it stays within treaty limitations.

The Senate President said that no preconditions would be required, but that "no government, foreign or otherwise" should be permitted from conducting troop movements or deploying to Andallion.

Concluding her separate press conference, Chancellor Regrets said that she was "extremely grateful" for the Free Assembly's pledge of support to Otulia, and that she would make sure that "such mutually beneficial deals would continue to be in the works." To that extent, she said that Foreign Minister Cautious Advance would be sent to meet with Free Assembly leaders and discuss possible aid to help expand the Free Assembly's power, especially in regards to the anti-Otulian Luscan Republic. The Foreign Minister would arrive after participating in peace talks with Andallion, if they do emerge. While some have criticized the Regrets Government of already getting the country involved in too many foreign entanglements, she hinted at military support "to combat the viscous, backwards, and utterly dangerous" Catholic State. While it is unclear what might happen, Parliament, currently controlled by a Socialist-Communist coalition with 375 of 750 seats, it nonetheless expected to back the Chancellor's agenda.

VICTORY FOR THE WORKERS?; PARLIAMENT CONSENTS TO KAZUMA REFERENDUM

KAZUMA CITY, Kazuma- Finally relenting to months of protests which turned into riots last month, Parliament, under heavy pressure from the Communists, agreed to accept a binding referendum on whether Kazuma should secede from Otulia or not. The Kazuman National Workers' Party, which has aggressively campaigned for legal secession, has support of about 70% of Kazumans, making the likelihood of a successfully referendum extremely likely. Parliament appears eager to allow Kazuma to vote, especially after May Day celebrations and a call by the Medditteranean Workers' Republic forced the issue to the front of several domestic discussions. The current vote would permit Kazuma, a province of about 1 million people but with 80% of its timber reserves, to leave Otulia and become a separate country, as describe in the Constitution. A parallel referendum in occupied Andallion would offer similar options, though, if Kazuma secedes, the Communists have promised to give the new country that territory, acting as an ultra-left-wing buffer state against Andallion.

Throughout the day, apparently spontaneous protests in support of the May Day workers' celebration happened around the province and much of the country, where employees were given the day off and as many as 180,000 workers are thought to have paraded through Reko alone. Several union and Communist leaders joined together to criticize the government's relaxed outlook on labor protection and their "bourgeois inefficiency in handling the global workers' revolution in such a way as to positively spread proper Communist thought and further democratic prosperity around the world." The Communists appear fed up with Chancellor Regrets, which many see as haphazardly bumbling from one diplomatic crisis to another, bleeding the country dry at the same time. Several union leaders lamented at the recent income and payroll tax hike, which they said "discourages the growth of the learned proletariat and slowly but surely is nothing but the bourgeois road to class oppression." The Communists, who, with 142 seats, are the third-largest party in Parliament after the Socialists and the Greens, have become increasingly more belligerent and extremist, probably fueled by discontent with Regrets' more moderate Socialist Party, which is attempting to distance itself from their leader.

Al-Husseini Addresses War Weary Nation

The tone of this morning's speech was largely triumphant, but at times the President expressed fears for the nation.

In his first address since the end of the Civil War and the capture of Wahat, President Khaled Al-Husseini addressed a hushed but eager crowd outside of Bashir's City Capitol Building, which has been serving as the seat of the Islamic Republic of Nasiristan since the attempted coup d'etat on 27 February 2015. His tone was initially greatly celebratory, declaring a tremendous victory for democracy and for the Nasiri people as a whole, and at times drifted into derision of the so-called Emirate of Nasiristan and the now dissolved Revolutionary Guard.

In his speech, Al-Husseini addressed concerns about the reconstruction of the Nasiri infrastructure which was greatly affected by the bombardment during the Civil War, as well as the restructuring of government after his government reestablished its primacy. "Today is a great day for the proud Nasiri people, for it is the day that we have become one people again," he proclaimed. The end of hostilities was warmly received by most if not all Nasiris, as stability was reestablished. Most if not all civil organizations have officially repudiated the Emirate of Nasiristan and denounced the former Emir, Meshal Al-Subai, who is believed to be in hiding in Lyncanestria.

In his speech, however, Al-Husseini failed to address the declaration of the so-called Nasiriyah Commune, by communist agitators, and the subsequent massacre of these agitators by government forces under the command of General Hussein Kamel.

Al-Husseini also addressed the future of the nation under his presidential regime, which has been in place since the beginning of March. He discussed rebuilding and revitalizing efforts as well as his planned nationalization of Nasiristan's vast mineral wealth deposits. Al-Husseini also claimed that Al-Subai's confiscated wealth will be used to fund rebuilding efforts to repair damage caused by the war. Al-Husseini also reiterated his stance of current neutrality on the Otulian-Andallic Conflict. Overall, the tone of the speech was hopeful and triumphant, and projected a grand vision for a more prosperous and safer Nasiristan.

In related news, the Headquarters of the former Revolutionary Guard is scheduled to be completely demolished on 5 May.

Interview With Hýnrík Ölférn, The New Face For A New Generstion Of Politics

Hýnrík Ölférn or known better by his internet alias FaZeThEcLoKe is a former Systems Analyst and criminally convicted Computer Hacker turned Politician and all by the age of 27. He is the leader of the Pirate Party of Insaeldor and Chairman for the Free Information Network a group of intellectuals who support a free and open internet for distribution of information. He is also running for a Councilourship in Ýærdínbörg (District 17A) and to top it all off he was voted the third most eligible bachelor in Insseldor. Today we will be interviewing Mr. Ölférn on a wide verity of issues and subjects from his political leanings and his unsettling past as a convicted criminal.

Q: Hello Mr. Ölférn, let's get this interview started with a introduction of yourself.

A: Well hello Mr. Húrkrsen it's a pleasure to be here. I am Hýnrík Ölférn current head of the Insaeldic Pirate Party, Chairman of the Free Information Network, former Hacker and Computer specialist now I'm an aspiring politician.

Q: With that lets get this out of the way. Why are you running for office and what exactly is the Pirate Party?

A: The Pirate Party is a political party I started in 2013 while I was still for Computer Crimes and it is a party dedicated to the free flow of information and a ability of such to all, defending the rights to expression, communication, and education. We work to increase government transparency, Intelectual Property reform, copyright reform, and an Economy for the Common Good via a cooperative free market model. I myself am running because we have a young population that is ruled by an old government, the youngest member of the Council is 48 years old with the average age being 56 years old for a Counciler. I am running because the tought of this nation have policy concerns that the old generation has failed to see and identy this and young people are needed to have their policy concerns addressed because if we don't do so now we will be unprepared for them when they enter mainstream political worry. We need the politics today that will be standard ten to fifteen years from now today so we aren't caugh off guard when new techno-political situations pop up. That is why I am running for office.

Q: To dig further into the party, while you have stated several things the party stands for what is the parties general political leaning?

A: I wouldn't say we have a political leaning. I personally self identify as a radical centrist but we have people who are both a part of the party or have supported the party with left-libertarians, nationalist, techno-progressives, and anarchist but we generally try to keep a centrist image and stick to our core ideals while also allowing our members to house how they interpret other issues.

Q: But what's the point of these central policies?

A: Do you have a smart phone?

Q: Well yes but what does that have to do with anything I just ask?

A: The fact that you have that in your pocket means that these policies matter to you. You have the definition of knowledge in your hand. The Internet its the modern day Library of Alexandra and the corporation that provides you Internet if the government that has the technology to view everything you do on that can easily tell you no and reject you the greatest source of free education. You know the story of King Gylinharð? The King who saw the squaller and destitution of the thralls as victims of the ghastly feudal system set in place. After seeing this he declared the priest and the nobility to hand over books to the Thralls and the nun to teach them to read. No after that what happened? We went from a backwater patch of farm dirt on the map into a large merchant empire all because we had an educated people and a system that rewarded work yet helped equalize everyone the best it could. That might be nearly a five hundred year old story but it still holds true today but the values the story tells about how the powers that be will risk war to keep their power and that a nation can flourish with an educated population are still relevant to this very day. That's why I support open access and free source of information.

A: Okay I see now. Now why don't you tell us about why you were in prison for.

Q: well I had just finished up my time learning how to work with computers professionally. I had always worked with them since I got my first one at about 8 years old when I got an old Kamsa with 160 MiB memory chip in it. I started working with the Hackvatist group SOIFFE in my late teens just as I was finishing up secondary school and continued on with it doing ever more invasive things hacking into corporate and government computer systems. Then me and a buddy of mine who went by optikXfate hacked into some military commuters systems and found and found a finance sheet on that new fleet carrier that had been built just a year before hand showed that the ship coast nearly four times what the government had said it did. So we made digital copies and we published the findings. We kept coming back and coming back and taking out more finance information and we got careless and got caught. I got four years in a medium security prison and optikXfate got six in a minimum security facility.

Q: Do you think your criminal past is a hindrance to your success as a politician?

A: No, it wasn't like I murdered anyone I just released financial documents that proved the government was lying to everyone. I did something morally right however my methods were less than legal.

Q: So you don't feel any remorse or guilt about what you've done?

A: No not at all.

Q: well okay, we've been given the sign that we've got one last question. So if elected what would be your first order of business?

A: I would work to restrict and strip both the Ministry of National Communications and the National Institute of Information and Communications ability to censor any Intellectual Property or form of digital and electronic media wether it be television, radio, or the Internet. That would be my first order of business.

Debate over the constitutionality of the Globian flag heats up

Is the humanist symbol on the flag a violation of the 1st Decree?

Merridell (GNN) - Debate over the constitutionality of the Globian flag has heated up over the past few months. The debate is about whether or not the humanist symbol on the Globian flag is a violation of the 1st Decree. The 1st Decree prohibits the government from supporting or prohibiting any religion, and mandates a strict separation of church and state.

Those against the flag claim that humanism has grown to a point where it can be considered a religion and that by having the humanist symbol on the flag, the government is supporting a religion. While those in favor of the flag claim that humanism is not a religion, rather it is a philosophy. As for the separation of church and state, supporters say that there is no church of humanism, thus further disallowing it to be defined as or similar as religion

We turned to the Oxford dictionary for definitions of religion and philosophy:

Religion: “The belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods.”

Philosophy: “The study of the fundamental natures of knowledge, reality, and existence, especially considered as an academic discipline.”

Alan Watson, Secular Party Trustee from Redford, uses these definitions in his argument to defend the constitutionality of the flag. “Humanism does not believe in or worship a supernatural being. It is not a faith,” he says. “Philosophy is a system of beliefs, or ideas. It is a theory guided by principles…based on these two definitions, humanism is a philosophy and not a religion.” He claims that because Humanism is not a religion, it is within the boundaries of the law because the 1st Decree only prohibits the government from supporting religion.

Gabriel Maclean, Liberal Union Trustee from Harahan, argues that in the modern period, humanism has become similar to that of a religion, and that the definitions of religion and philosophy cannot be used to define what is and isn’t a religion. “A religion is a set of beliefs on how people should act, and why they should act that way. Christians believe they should act good because they are being judged by God. Humanists believe they should act good because it is their duty as humans. If Christianity is a religion, how does one say that humanism isn’t a religion, when the only belief that differentiates them is the belief in a God?” he says. “This is clearly a violation of the 1st Decree. It is unfair to non-Secular humanists, that the federal government is promoting humanism over all other religions. Globus is a diverse country, filled with many different beliefs. The 1st Decree is supposed to protect those beliefs by disallowing the government to promote one over the rest.”

The population is divided on the constitutionality of the flag. When asked if they believe the flag is constitutional, 48% answered yes, 43% answered no, and 9% answered as not caring. We found that the group most in favor of the flag were Secular Humanists, and those most opposed were Christians. Atheists, Buddhists, Muslims and Jews were generally more against the flag, though not as strongly as Christians. From the 2010 Census, 52% of people identify as a Secular Humanist, 27% identify as Christian, 11% identify as Atheist, 3% identify as Buddhist, 2% identity as Muslim, and 5% identify with other theistic religions.

The first attempt by The Chamber to alter the flag was in 1955 by the Christian Democratic Union. Since then, past Chambers have proposed to alter the flag 14 times. Delegate Donald Escoto of the Christian Democratic Union says that one possibility of altering the flag could be passing a new Decree that equates philosophy to religion by definition, thus putting philosophy in the same boat as religion in the 1st Decree. Although the likelihood of that happening is slim, as passing a new Decree is much more difficult than passing a bill to alter the flag.

Recently, a growing number of Secular Party members have spoken out against the current flag. The Secular Party is usually the party responsible for disallowing previous attempts to alter the flag. The Secular Party is generally the preferred party of Secular Humanists, though some Secular Humanists are beginning to doubt their own party because of the parties growing bi-partisanship in regards to the flag.

The flag was actually deemed constitutional in 1971, in the Supreme Court case Holland v. The Globian Humanist Association. With the debate about the constitutionality of the flag growing larger recently between citizens and the Chamber, it could be possible that the Supreme Court will allow for another case to be heard on the subject. If they deem the flag unconstitutional, the government will have no choice but to alter the flag.

Sacerdotal Restored

While the Second Reformation brought the old empire to the 21st century and the refounding of Aeynerilis, throughout the reconstructions many Defesians voiced concern that the Imperial administration was not paying proper heed to all aspects of Old Aeynerilis. This concern sparked a national debate on the role of religion in the Empire.

The People's Parliament last month brought this national debate to a head when they submitted 'P.B. 1823', "On Matters of Faith". The legislation was authored and submitted by Andrei Yostev, Shikovundr Colonel and member of the Old Guard party. The bill's goal was to restore the Sacerdotal, the official name of the Church in Old Aeynerilis, and outlaw the worship of other gods. The bill passed through the Old Guard controlled parliament, but was soundly defeated in the Grand Council upper house, which is controlled by several Reformationists appointed by the Emperor himself. The Grand Council has the authority to reject any proposal from the People's Parliament which is deemed incompatible with the law and values of the Empire. Councilmen have six year terms and must have ten years military experience as well as a noble title to be eligible for office. It is much more conservative than the lower Parliament, where can run for office with only 5 years of military service.

Andrei Yostev submitted an amended version of the bill last week. The new version refounded the Sacerdotal "As it was in the Old Empire", and outlined the role the organization would play in modern Imperial life. The bill directly cites the figures that over 30% of citizens follow Vinnispakkr, and worship the old gods as they did in the Old Empire. Another 27% follow the New Vinnispakkr, which was founded in 1642 after a split with the original church over a disagreement of the Church's policy on inclusion of other gods. The New Followers worship a larger pantheon of deities, whereas the Sacerdotal continues to worship the Great Five.

The bill passed with a majority vote through the Parliament, and after three days of debate narrowly passed the Grand Council with a vote of 7-5. The proposal by Councilman Ysviger that the legislation be challenged in the High Court of Tranquility has been rejected by the Court.

The Emperor announced his support for the measure and says he will not veto. The law will take affect tomorrow, but already moves are being made to ensure a smooth transition:

Yuri Oleksander has been named Head Sacerdotal by the Emperor. The 58 year old man was a well known and popular priest in a large church in Odintyr. He is an outspoken conservative and supporter of the Old Gods and traditional methods of worship. He will lead the Sacerdotal, and will gain a seat in the Interior Government to help guide the Imperial Administration on holy matters.

The Disciples are a small order, and are expected
to increase in size with this new legislation.

The Sacerdotal will gain control of all religious relics, places of worship, and idols within the Empire, and then be restructured by the Head Sacerdotal to ensure their proper utilization in the worship of the Gods as they were meant to be, and set Church policy.

The order of Sacerdotal Disciples is said to be absorbed into the Sacerdotal. The Disciples are an armed religious order who ceremoniously guard holy sites and relics of the Gods. They will be placed under the authority of the Head Sacerdotal, who has already announced plans to increase their size and legal authority. The full extent of their new powers has not been publically released.

The funding for the Sacerdotal will come through state funds, and the next bill on the legislative agenda is a proposed "Sacerdotal Tax" of a flat .2% on all Citizens that would go directly to the Sacerdotal.

Al-Husseini Announces Reforms, Projects, Legislation, And Resource Nationalization

Just six days after the end of hostilities, the city of Wahat is recovering quickly.

If there was a single word that could summarize the Islamic Republic of Nasiristan's recovery after the end of the civil war, it would be rapid. Nasiris have been eager to get back to work and normalize their lives that have been so chaotic for so long. As a new age of freedom and prosperity is heralded by most, few speak out against the Al-Husseini government, which has been succesfully orchestrating reconstruction efforts to repair Nasiristan's infrastructure, which was possibly the greatest non-human casualty of the war.

The seat of government has remained in Bashir, and it is believed unlikely to be returning to Wahat anytime soon, as in addition to the damage from the war, the city has been ravaged in recent months by a crippling drought. The port of Qarjah, located on the North Austerian Ocean, and a bastion of Nasiri wealth has been considered as a potential site for a new capital, but economic conflicts of interest may prohibit this.

President Khaled Al-Hussein, who has assumed high executive powers since the unification of Nasiristan, addressed a hopeful crowd Wednesday morning in front of the capital building in Bashir.

He began his speech by addressing the conflict in nearby Otulia and Andallion, and identified as a source of shame for all residents of the continent of Carpathia that Otulia be harassed enough by Andallion to warrant an invasion. He made a steadfast statement of support for the Federal Republic of Otulia, but stated that his nation was far too war weary to lend any immediate help. His speaking on the topic was concluded by a urge for the heads of state of either nation to agree to a ceasefire to establish peace and security once again.

Al-Husseini then moved onto the larger topic of reforms and new legislation. He announced several new executive legal declarations; most related to the reconstruction efforts, while the most noteworthy one was a piece of legislation outlawing all paramilitary groups such as the Revolutionary Guard or any other such groups, such as Aqil Hakim's Islamic State of Nasiristan, which he denounced as "baseless terrorism." The President also spoke on the topic of the recent Communist insurrection in Nasiriyah, the handling of which, by General Husayn Kamel, resulted in the deaths and executions of thirty Communist agitators and four Nasiri soldiers. He stated that the agitators were heard speaking in Persian and made an accusation against the Persian Worker's Republic in neighboring Mediterreania.

The President moved onto the topic of large national projects, which he announced would bolster "Nasiristan's national pride as well as general welfare and prosperity." One such project is the diversion of the Lake Victory canal, which was built in 1957 by King Abdullah XI Al-Bandari and is located 100km north of Bashir, into the Asad-Babil river valley, in order to improve the drought conditions of areas lower along the river valley. The President also announced a new natural gas pipeline as well as a new state-owned freight railway, to serve Nasiristan's natural gas fields and mineral extraction facilities respectively.

Shortly thereafter, the President began speaking about the planned nationalization of all of Nasiristan's mineral wealth, and announced an initiative where the government will be rewarding entities that willingly give up their extraction rights with governmental bonds or other corporate subsidies.The move to nationalize all of Nasiristan's mineral wealth has been a controversial one, and was one of the major business reasons for the Subai family's backing of the Revolutionary Guard coup and the declaration of the Emirate.

President Al-Husseini also spoke about new educational intiatives and an adult literacy intiative.

Regardless of the governmental reforms, the walk to complete recovery from the war will be no doubt long and difficult, but under President Al-Husseini's leadership, Nasiris will not be walking alone.

Aurinsulan trading body now sole legal purchaser

KEINSTEINEM, REPUBLIC OF LANOS - The Lanosian state-owned oil company LanOil has officially concluded a deal that will make the Aurinsulan Petroleum Marketing Corporation (APMC) the official sole purchaser of all of LanOil's products.

The deal was concluded amidst great ceremony in Keinsteinem yesterday, as representatives of the APMC met with the CEO of LanOil to sign the deal.

"We are extremely pleased with the outcome of our negotiations," said APMC Vice-President for Price Structuring Bo Xiaokui. "This deal guarantees a good and stable price for all of LanOil's products, and provides the APMC with an extremely powerful marketing position."

Under the terms of the deal, the APMC is now the sole authorized purchaser for all of LanOil's products. With LanOil's exclusive monopoly on all oil and gas extracted anywhere in Lanosian territory, the APMC now controls the sale price for almost 30% of the region's crude oil.

"The petroleum refining industry has always been an essential part of Aurinsula's economic portfolio. Qingchen and Beigang are responsible for refining two-fifths of the region's petroleum, and with this move, Aurinsulan companies will now handle over a third of the region's oil activities."

"The move is also an excellent one for the Aurinsulan people," he continued, "because as part of our charter, all purchases from the APMC will have to be conducted on an Aurinsulan exchange bourse and will be subject to Aurinsulan taxes, thus providing the government with an excellent new source of revenue."

Increased tax revenues are estimated at around 648 trillion yuan per year. A spokesperson for the Executive Yuan hailed the move as "visionary."

"Lanosian oil is presently worth over a quadrillion yuan annually. By taking even a small tax on each transaction, we'll be able to substantially improve our government's financial section, and can approach all three of our priorities - capital reconstruction, debt restructuring, and lowered tax burdens - simultaneously, though of course further study is needed to see exactly how we will prioritize these three goals."

The APMC was created by investment capital from both Beigang and Qingchen holding corporations, as well as insitutional investment from eleven major Aurinsulan banks. It has not yet prepared an initial public offering.

The deal also holds great rewards for the Lanosians. In addition to answering political and diplomatic concerns, the APMC deal also guarantees a fixed price for all of LanOil's sales. This allows the country's economic planners an unparalleled degree of certaintly in using the revenue from what is traditionally a very volatile industry.

"We have planned this very carefully," said Bo. "After a comprehensive analysis of the region's markets, we have discovered that the optimal pricing points for both crude oil and for gasoline are both substantially above the current market prices. Our financial future is extremely bright."

In response to this news, the market price of crude oil soared as speculators reacted to increased seller power, with prices reaching as high as 8,374,000 yuan per barrel, up from the previous month's high of 5,354,000 per barrel.

Lanos Goes Into Andallion

As authorized by the National Assembly, the Lanos National Defense Forces began to deploy its forces in Andallion with the arrival of the First Strike Division and large elements of the 1st and 3rd Divisions and supportive Navy and Air Force elements. The commanding general of the Lanosian forces in Andallion, Army General Clinton Brown, addressed reporters today at the capital's international airport in his combat uniform and gear, laying out the basic mission of the Lanosian forces and what would be done in the coming days without breaking operational security. Amidst the backdrop of deploying military personnel and equipment, General Brown, in his Multiple Environment camouflage patterned New Battle Uniform and equipment, answered reporters' questions and was frank about the prospect of casualties and losses being subjected to the deploying NDF personnel. General Brown made no promises as he broke the press conference to head for consultations with Andallic commanders and his superiors back in Keinsteinem's Fort Kostov, the NDF headquarters.

The NDF's contingent of forces in Andallion consists of the 2nd Fleet and reinforcing supply ships, temporarily delayed by a couple of Estoni naval ships, the 3rd Air Force with all supporting combat and logistical units, and the Army's three combat divisions and all supportive units. While more units are on the way, it is predicted that a large majority of the combat forces are in Andallion and awaiting deployment to the front line. Lanosian forces are predicted to head to Yohannesburg to assist in the city's defense against advancing Otulian forces but the NDF nor Andallic sources have confirmed this. Back at home, military bases were milling about with activity as men and equipment were being prepared for reinforcement when casualties and losses begin to take effect as active personnel and militiamen work to support the combat forces in Andallion. Enlistments were reportedly taking an upswing as Lanosian men and women, mostly aged 18-25, were inquiring at recruitment stations about their options of joining the military.

Tagging along with him as NBS had done in the Second Chon War, First Lieutenant Jason Reynolds was with his platoon in an undisclosed military installation, ensuring each and every soldier under his command was ready to represent the Assault Brigade, First Strike Division, in combat for the first time in three years. During a short interview, Reynolds did not give details per regulations but was also intent on focusing the attention of the media onto his platoon mates, not himself, given his stature in Lanos as the Lady's consort. Regardless of his status at home, Reynolds made clear he was to be treated as an ordinary infantry officer, a reality enforced from high up in the Army's command structure, even though his platoon has a few extra soldiers assigned from the Army Rangers to help protect the Lord Protector of Lanos in combat. As our crew left Reynolds' platoon, he could be seen making sure his rifle magazines were properly functioning as he was loading M855A1 ball ammunition into them.

Keinsteinem was also discussing intentions of reforming the Army's structure post-war regarding the combat forces. It is rumored that the President will seek National Assembly authorization to permanently mobilize the five regular combat divisions and build up the two State Militia combat battalions that each state now has under its command into a full brigade combat team by 2017. In light of this, the State Militia may receive more support functions in light of the restructuring. No other logistical or combat elements are expected to be changed during and after the reforms.

LanOil, Aurinsulan Petroleum Marketing Corporation sign major deal

The Aurinsulan Petroleum Marketing Corporation and LanOil, the government-owned oil and natural gas corporation, signed a major economic deal guaranteeing a stable price for all Lanosian oil and natural gas products while making the APMC the sole legal purchaser of all LanOil products. Signed and ratified during a ceremony with much fanfare attended by executives from both companies and the Lanosian president, the deal guarantees Lanos stability in the oil market and in the political and diplomatic world by fixing a stable price for all products, giving the government an unprecedented degree of profit certainty in future budgeting. In an industry marked by volatility, the business move guarantees Lanosian stability in the long run while Aurinsula profits as well. Despite some domestic grumbling of having to buy back Lanosian oil from the APMC for domestic use, the move would cost Lanos less than other purchasers. As a result of the oil deal, regional oil prices have soared, guaranteeing a rise in oil prices for everyone in the region except for Lanos and Aurinsula.

Six days ago, Friday the 1st of May the La Soirée Landres Tribune reported that the 4th Army of the Andallion Armed Forces, the Andallic line of defence against the Federal Republic of Otulia, has retreated to the North after losing more than 45,000 servicemen following a week exchanging brutal force through the use of guns, air assault, artillery, and tank shells. The Otulians so far has lost thousands of servicemen including heavy armoured and combat vehicles but no more further than that. There are defences that were prepared and ready to take the 4th Army's place although it all failed to fulfil the responsibility. The 4th Army is starting to fall apart as it retreated. The retreat made the outcome where the Capital of the House Johannes, Yohannesbourg, occupied by Otulian forces rigidly ineludible.

The Republic of Lanos is expected to defend the Andallion Capital. The President of Lanos David Becerra announced that he will send three divisions along with air and naval support of the Lanosian Armed Forces. Most of these are now in Yohannesbourg waiting for the Otulians to arrive and keep the city's inhabitants safe until they are evacuated though the Lanosian forces may not be enough to hold the city under the Andalls for good. Nevertheless Lanos will increase time to use for Prime Minister Ihmaner Kolsop's bold and unforeseen response, resolutely held up by his Progressive Conservative Party, on the Andallic-Otulian War.

In Yohannesbourg when the news of the 4th Army's retreat spread citywide its citizens commenced panicking and unintentionally destabilize public order. They looked to leave the city for places far behind enemy lines while another looked to foreign embassies to seek refuge. Most embassies took in Andalls nonetheless those that are considered eligible before taking them to the airport in order to be sent away from Andallion while others refused and are now doing their best turning them away. Out of all the consulates in Yohannesbourg the Consulate of the Imperial State of Viridisolum has treated the city's inhabitants seeking refuge differently.

Ambassador to Andallion for His Imperial Majesty's Government in Viridisolum His Excellency Reiks Barndar "Barney" Himat Zarad J. Powwst received the news about the 4th Army's retreat in the dawning sun of May 2 at his bedside from his personal secretary, the day when hysteria emerged in Yohannesbourg. Everything in the morning came by like the usual days that have gone past however when midday approached the locals were very worried for themselves and their families when the 4th Army's retreat circulated completely around Yohannesbourg. Their fears overcame them hence they concluded to rush for the embassies to find shelter from the impending Otulian attack hoping that they will also be sent out of the country afterwards to escape the sufferings of war. The scene outside the Viridisian Consulate is alike those embassies that refused the city's scared populace. Gates were to be closed unannounced and consulate officials were persistent to not officially refuse Yohannesbourg's citizens from having the safety of Viridisian extraterritorial shield. Nobody from the consulate directly addressed the Andalls outside the Consulate. Just as His Imperial Majesty's Foreign Service Security guardsmen closed all the consulate's entrances Ambassador Barney Powwst suddenly ordered to open the gates and let those who seek protection enter the consulate compound.

Adding to this joyous course of action taken by His Excellency Barney Powwst the Right Honourable Leader Prime Minister Ihmaner Kolsop phenomenally advanced His Excellency's generosity by granting asylum to all Andalls hiding in the Viridisian Embassy and in the consulate in Yohannesbourg. They will be transported not costing them a single coin to Viridisolum without any visas or passports. His Imperial Majesty's Personal Flight Service will bring them in the Nation starting from tomorrow until all Andalls registered in Viridisian diplomatic mission headquarters and facilities have evacuated Andallion. Upon arrival they will be sent to asylum reception centres located in every international airport in the Nation where they will be granted residency and stay until they can afford to reside in their own houses. If the reception centres cannot accommodate more those who will not be able to stay in the reception centres will be moved to imperial residences such as Pariad Huestek Palace, Government Palace, Verdlan City Palace, Garhm City Palace, and Bared House since Emperor Edric Skaran III and the Imperial Family usually don't spend their time here except Prince Sven who is currently living in Yimard House. Grand Secretary Lord Ablright Hoffenir, the Vice-Regal Consort, and his family occupies only three imperial residences and all are in the Capital of Imperial Henstrakon, Government Palace first and foremost.

Never before a Progressive Conservative government made a step this far that it is seen by the Confederation Legislature as sensational. The move of both the Prime Minister and the Ambassador was received by the public favourably well. Others simply disagree, some strongly arguing that the Prime Minister's latest deed on foreign policy is the most ridiculously ambitious provocation to dare pervert Viridisian migration politics.

Head of the Imperial Household in Viridisolum Yasuko Takase elaborated that the Andalls will not be allowed to roam freely in the imperial domains and premises and will stay only in areas designated by the Imperial Household for the Andalls use. Meals and snacks will be provided three times a day. Hygiene will be arranged and appropriated. Several imperial residences that cannot be open to tourists, visitors, and Andalls at the same time will be closed to all guests and solicitors.

We still hope for a dialogue between the Governments of Andallion and Otulia regardless of what has been done.

For now Our Imperial Majesty in Right of Viridisolum would like to disclose and describe the following:

So far there are 6,843 people registered for asylum in Andallion, 2,953 refugees are in the Embassy of Viridisolum while 3,890 refugees are in the Yohannesbourg consulate. 2,391 refugees are children, 1,961 are women, and 2,491 are men. 2,009 refugees are in need of constant medical attention and assistance.

We assure the public that these people will be immediately evacuated to Viridisolum secured by the watch of Our Imperial Majesty's Foreign Service Security from there and on the way home.

We would also like to reassure that all Viridisians registered in the diplomatic mission that are overseas workers, residents and tourists in Andallion before the war and when it started have been evacuated last week and last month after we have given notice to each and every one of them without any mistake. The only Viridisians in Andallion are those within the premises of Our Imperial Majesty's diplomatic mission.
