USU Gazette
In the greater interests of the Union and the galaxy the USU council has extended a invitation to the galaxy to create the 1st intergalactic exploration fleet. This fleets only purpose is to find and explore new worlds and make contact with new civilizations. The USU asks that any nation wishing to join the fleet send a small number of vessels to join it, no military vessels will be allowed but ships are allowed to be armed. The USU will conduct talks with any nation wishing to join. The number of vessels the USU is sending into this fleet has not yet been made public, however it is rumored the the eon ship the USU Commander may be one of the vessels in this fleet now that it has been reclassified as an exploration vessel and many of the military hardware on the vessel has now been deactivated or removed. More on this story will be shown when the government releases it's expected official statement on what vessels are being sent.

[The Vizarian Union]

Overview

Vizaria. The very mentioning of the name brings galactic leaders to their knees. The very sight of the flag of Vizaria makes galactic citizens tremble. Known around the galaxy as an unstoppable 'apex race', Vizarians are a relentless fighting force, forged out of the bloody aftermath of the independence war. One of the forgers of the original mass effect relays, Vizaria has bared the grunt of fierce wars and invasions (notably: The Reaper War) and has rose to be one of the most superior galactic powers. It's empire, or 'The Vizarian Union' spans over 3 'home' systems (these are systems that The Vizarian Union hold which are close to Vizaria) and 7 'foreign' systems (self explanatory). While 'foreign' systems tend to be small/medium, these systems help the combat readiness of Vizaria (for the sake of fairness I will only be using my home systems).

Vizaria

Primarch Victus is weary of the rising power going by the name of 'The United Star Union'. Primarch Victus and his advisers are not too keen on helping the USU effort, but are ordered instead to keep a close tab on the USU. Primarch Victus secretly readies ODA's on the edge of Vizarian held-systems to engage any USU ships heading towards it. Within the Vizarian home systems, military production is at an all time high. Military production levels haven't been this high since The Reaper War and Primarch Victus' advisers are worried about what possible plan he may have in store, but Primarch Victus simply says "Peace through superior firepower."

[The United Star Union]

The United Star Union, an alliance of 16 colonial powers who declared independence from their former rulers. In the Union War following this declaration the USU surprisingly won its independence with a rather small force. Now, 30 years later, the fledgling nation seeks to make itself a galactic power to be respected as a member of the galactic community. Unlike the Citadel nations who can rely on one another, the Union is politically alone in the universe, with no allies or enemies due to its neutral stance on issues. Now under the leadership of Councilman Alder, the nation seeks to create allies and trade partners to create a spirit of cooperation throughout the local systems. The exploration fleet is the first of many moves which the USU has planned to try and build a friendship with other galactic powers. However, many nations such as The Vizarian Union, one of the leading Citadel members, are wary of the USU and wish to either end the nation or remain out of contact with it.

Defiance - Union Capital
Councilman Alder reclines in his chair thinking over the present situation. After just being elected to his second term a month ago he must now work on delivering what he promised: a Union that was involved with the other space faring nations and not isolated to them as the previous administrations had done. However, in order to gain a presence on the galactic stage one group of nations needed to be contacted, the nations of the Citadel. Their economic wealth was staggering, the space they controlled is immense, and their military might is nothing to take lightly. He sat up, thinking harder, then he had an idea. He stood out of his chair and walked over to his computer and began to tye a message that he was hoping would help the Union.

To the Nations of Space,

The United Star Union wishes to offer a hand of cooperation to any nation. The USU wishes to conduct the following with any nation who wishes to contact the USU.

If any of the following appeals to any nation the USU hereby invites you to the Stargazer Summit. This summit is being held as a display of the ability in all of the fields above. We know we are a new nation to space and we wish to prove not only we can be a part of the galactic community, but we can help make it an even better place. All nations are invited, none have to attend the conference but it will address the ability of the USU in all of the fields above. Other nations may also bring exhibits to show off their abilities. Overseer Chester Santori's holographic display on his desk suddenly flashed a message coming from some unknown space faring nation that desired to have contact with other space faring nations. This "United Star Union" is currently working its way to becoming a respected power, although not a galactic power yet, as Stormwrath has known true galactic powers, many of them within the Milky Way Galaxy. Stormwrath itself is a galactic power in the Tanabiku Galaxy, or what the Terrans call Pinwheel. However, Stormwrath's presence in the Milky Way would be relatively small compared to the powers that are currently crossing space like it is just a small river. Santori knew that.

However, he knew that this could be an opportunity to make new trading partners and maybe new alliances, provided that the new alliances do not entangle with Stormwrath's current alliances. In reality, this ambition of theirs may seem to be daunting, but not impossible. He proceeded to type in a response on his display to send to this "Chancellor Alder".

In recent years, Lexonia had been heavily advancing military wise and spending was on the increase.
Lexonian fleets had almost doubled in numbers and home production was on a dramatic increase.
The time of being pushed about are over, Lexonia was rising and it was rising to the top.

USU - Stargazer Elevator
Alder looks over the received messages and smiles. He actually received a response from several nations. There was still a few days until the Summit occurred so more nations could still join, but the nations attending were already impressive themselves. He opened a file on the data pad he was is holding, showing details of what each nation is expected to bring to the Summit. It looked like the Empire and Lexonia were going to use the Summit as a show of military power rather then economic or diplomatic reasons. However, Stormwrath was different. The nation appeared to have an actual desire to develop bonds with the Union, which is what Alder is hoping for. He stands up out of his chair and dials his phone, "Send the media the details of what the USU will be bringing to the Summit in all fields, it is time to show our guest what we have in store!"

Startower News
The USU has just released the Specifics of what will be presented at the Stargazer Summit. In Terms of Diplomacy the USU will be offering defensive pacts and open borders to any nation interested, as long as they are a non-aggressive nation. For economic display the USU will be displaying its ORIGIN system, a new mass production device created by Rezen Heavy Industries (RHI) which will be revealed for the first time at the summit. The USU Academy of Science and Particle Company will be present to try and talk to either governments or corporations to try and create a technology-sharing network to improve the sharing of information between the USU and other nations. Lastly, the USU Military is expected to make a display of several new weapons that the Union has developed, although most of the details on what the military is bringing to the summit is being kept from public eye at the current moment. Thats all for now, more on the Summit as information is released!

"…And we have to attend this convention of theirs, too?", grumbled a voice from the holographic display.

The Head of AE-Celestia's Milky Way Offices, Richard Elliot, was talking to another member of the board through it. Well, they're not in a meeting at the moment. He replied, "Well this convention could be an opportunity for us to attract new customers who would want to buy our products. I mean, our D12 Hover Tanks are practically going to be very useful for them to become a respected nation in the galaxy!"

"So? We have the Atmorans and the Northern Arcadians who buy from us."

"Yes, but just hear me out. Telling from the information given out from the Overseer's Office, companies that can showcase their products are recommended to attend. This could be an opportunity for us."

The man on the other end of the line sighed. "Alright, AE-Celestia will go. I'm sure you know what to do, Richard."

"Indeed I do. End transmission." The display suddenly vanished into thin air, and Richard proceeded to fill out the remaining documents in his data pad. He was in a good mood for today.

SXCV Ante Meridiem
1.4 light years from Stargazer Space Elevator

Three floating spheres were revolving around this certain diplomat with a short stature. He was a mere 5' 9", which wouldn't be considered short by Terran definition. However, Zeronian humans for a fact have an average height of 6' 6". The diplomat's name was Mn. Greg Pascal, the same diplomat sent to the Northern Arcadian Empire to form an alliance. One of the orbs pulled out a hairbrush and tidied up his hair nicely, while another one was giving a massage on his shoulders. The third orb just floated aimlessly. He was to be escorted by three other diplomats who will mostly observe the exposition set up by the United Star Union.

After a few hours of superluminal travel, the Stormwrathian starship reached Defiance, the capital planet of the USU. It docked on the elevator, and prepared to unload its cargo, which was full of what Stormwrath was going to showcase in the Stargazer Summit, although they have always thought that it was a convention, or an exposition. Pascal waited for the airlock to open up, with the three orbs floating by him. As the doors were opened, he stepped out of the ship and into the Stargazer Elevator. Elsewhere on the ship, large items in boxes were being unloaded and transported. Clearly there was a lot to show for.

We have received news that the first time in 57 years, our nation has received a request to go to a summit. The Empire is going to use this as a show of military power and are going to try and make diplomatic ties as well. We will be bringing several species from the breeding labs and demonstrate their uses and try to interest the nations at the summit with ideas of importing our Animals. The pride of our nation, the ES Honor will be the flagship of our nation in the demonstration and will show our almighty Purge Weapons to the nations, just as a deterrence. They say they hope to be able to get trade and research agreements as well as seeing if we can import some useful animals from the nations as well. All of the information from the Request is on our holo-sight, in other news, there are more and more people joining the Green Faction on the most western most planet. Paladin Armored Cores are being up-armored and being converted to Riot control. We at the OIBA hope that the conflict will end soon.

Stargazer Elevator - High Orbital Station Starward
Councilmen Alder steps out of the Maglev train that had just transported him to the planets surface. He walks into a room filled with activity. Corporations from all over the Union have displays set up, trying to attract other nations to do business. New tech and other marvels are being displayed all over the room, including the RHI ORIGIN Device, which Alder personally helped fund. He looks over to the far side of the room, already seeing Stormwrath representatives mingling in the crowd. He smiles. Although the official summit has not started yet, it was nice to see that at least one nation was making an effort to do business with he Union. He looks over to the star dock, seeing crates of goods with Stormwrath logos on them being offloaded and the ES Honor being guided into the dock. He looks at one of his aides behind him, "How long until our fleet arrives, they don't want to miss the show!"
"ETA of the fleet is any second now."
No sooner had he said that then a massive warp portal opened up near the station. The activity stopped as people all over the station look out the window. The fleet comes into view, many famed vessels join the showcase at the summit such as the USU Enduring Hope and the USU Victory, but that's not what is catching peoples eyes. Its the Union's newest and largest warship, the 36 mile long USU Commander. The massive vessel causes many to gasp in awe and even some representatives to look a little impressed. The Commander was another one of Aldars projects, and it was an icon of not only the power of the Union but its engineering, technological, and economic might being trillions to build.
Alders smile stretches from ear to ear, "Prepare to officially start the Summit!"

ATTENTION THE USU STARGAZER SUMMIT HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN
Nations will will be allowed to put up displays and exhibits in the following areas:

Stormwrath - Blocks 3-6 and Orbital Dock 2 and 4
Empire of the Rising Moon - Blocks 7-9 and Orbital Docks 3 and 6
USU - Blocks 1-3 and Orbital Dock 1, USU Commander will also be open for tours along with the 1st fleet.

Nations will be assigned areas as they arrive. Please keep all animals out of restricted areas (Yes you Empire!). All diplomatic meetings will take place on deck 5 in the 12 conference rooms scattered throughout the deck, details on what is in each room or who wants to rent each room will be released. Military maneuvers can only be conducted in USU approved space.

OOC: Its a summit/expo/convention all in one. Also you can post multiple or one post(s) for different exhibits and displays, whatever you want to do.

[Stormwrath]

Several autos (that is, self-moving transport robots) brought many of Stormwrath's technologies over to the nation's assigned block, Blocks 3 to 6. Many companies were attending to get more customers, and were looking forward to showcase the scientific and technological innovations that Stormwrath holds. Some may even say that Stormwrath is pushing itself too much for this convention, especially with the Infinite Improbability Drive and the Metaverse being two of its most prized creations. Hopefully the showmen don't get too cocky.

Pascal was going to first get a drink on this station, but so far there weren't any pubs for the diplomat to be viewed from his current location. He asked a few people, who directed the Stormwrathian to a certain pub which happened to be near Block 4. The orbs followed along, conversing with each other as if they had the bodies and consciences of humans. In truth, they were comparable to the Three Stooges.

"One round of beer please", Pascal said to the bartender.

"Sometimes I do not understand why you humans love to drink bitter liquids", commented the first orb, who had a cocky attitude.

"But you do notice that they get used to it after some time, right?", countered the second orb, who was the strict one of the three.

"There you go again with y-your goody t-two shoes act", said the third orb, who had a terrible habit of stuttering.

"Seriously though, you do realize that you are going to be meeting with other representatives in the summit, don't you?"

"Yes I am", replied Pascal to the second orb. "I do know that I should remain sober."

"And you always seem to forget that tiny detail", remarked the first orb.

"Oh, come on. You don't have to be a dick all the time to him", rebuked the second orb.

"Try saying that with your mouth a little cleaner."

Apparently that sentence ticked the second orb off. "What was that you GLaDOS ripoff?"

The first orb was just as short-tempered as the second orb, and much more likely to curse. "Oh, you should've never said that in front of me, Guilty Spark."

Now the two orbs were just about ready to tear each other apart, and they just happened to be in a pub while Pascal was drinking beer and simultaneously reviewing his notes at the same time. It wasn't particularly the best way to prepare for diplomatic talks. The third orb stopped the other two and said, "Hey, no fights you two. W-we don't want any chaos to h-happen here while we are h-here."

"Says the orb who has a chaotically designed mainframe", the first orb snidely remarked. The three were now so angry that they began to bump and ram into each other. This happens almost all of the time when the orbs get into an argument. Once Pascal was finished drinking, he paid the bill using his currency rod and then said to the three orbs, "Enough goofing around. Let's head to the conference rooms."

The three stopped fighting and proceeded to follow him all of the way. By now the exhibits have been mostly set up in Block 4, with the Metaverse hardware on the left and the Grid Energy reactor mock-ups on the right.

Orbital Docks 4= Converted into a Traditional Imperial Festival, With stalls with Traditional candies and foods are everywhere, along with charms and a Full Moon Priestess in a Shrine Ship.
Orbital Docks 5= Allowing Citizens into Training Armored cores and showing them how to pull off basic maneuvers and showing them how to shoot.
Orbital Docks 6= Solely used for the amount of cargo coming off of the carriers for the Festivities, and the Corporations.

Inside the Exhibits
Admiral Hide is accompanying Leo, the heir to the throne, "Isn't This the loveliest thing you've seen in a long time, Several nations all in one station, trying to get on good terms with each other. Our Festivals are looking like a hit and it reminds me of when i was a child and my Father took me to a festival. Just Lovely isn't it?" said Leo. "It's really nice being able to enjoy these thing like this. It beats being on a ship any day of the year. Now make sure your white hound doesn't go into restricted areas and just keep him under control." responded Hide. Leo says in a sheepish voice, "Yes i know, and her name is Dri. Remember that okay?" "Sure,sure, just make sure he stays close to you, we don't want this convention to go to hell because you get shot or something okay?" "'kay."

[The Systems Alliance of Humanity]

Admiral Hackett of The Systems Alliance has announced that he will be attending the stargazer summit.
The Alliance Navy and Alliance Marine Corps had more than doubled in size since their fight against the Reckoning.
The Alliance was on its way to meeting and passing the superiority of Vizaria, its closest ally and spearhead of Citadel Space.
Many humans and Alliance officers, including Hackett, were still mad at the USU for essentially summoning the Reckoning.

The complete destruction of Cerberus, the recapturing of Omega and the neutralization of the Omega 4 Relay had been massive wins for the Alliance.

Admiral Hackett wants to show the nations of the world that the Alliance is no longer a pushover and will destroy everything in its path.
The entire Alliance 1st Fleet jumps through a Mass Relay, backed by Marine F-61 Trident fighters.
And none other than Commander John Shepard...

[Stormwrath]

Now Stormwrath had a small fleet to guard the Ante Meridiem, only a mere two frigates and three patrol ships. It was considered enough for the Stormwrathians to only bring a few, since too many warships would cause a false sense of insecurity among those who are attending the convention. The Luce government only gave them just enough for the security of the Stormwrathian diplomats and expositors. They were quite adept in doing their job, especially after the split second detection of warp drive anomalies somewhere near Defiance. Unlike in the Tanabiku Galaxy, where Warp Drives were considered to be relatively unused, they were commonplace all over the Milky Way.

Meanwhile, Pascal and the three orbs were now heading to Deck 5, taking the elevator there. As they were inside, and as the lift was transporting them, one of the orbs asked Pascal, "So is this diplomatic relations thing supposed to be genuine, or is it going to be an excuse for us to show our stuff excessively?"

"We aren't all like that", the Stormwrathian replied. "You all know why Overseer Santori sent us here."

"Yeah, but I doubt our diplomatic talks would actually mean something compared to what the expositors down there are doing", said the second orb. From the elevator they could see the convention below, with the booths being quickly put together by nanobots.

"True, but even the most miniscule of things can leave the biggest impact on the universe", Pascal calmly replied. By the time he finished saying that, they have arrived on the designated floor.

[The United Star Union]

Stargazer Blocks 1-3
Inside the station was bustling with activity in all of the blocks. The USU had put up displays it the three assigned blocks and everything from technology to art was on display. In block one the Particle company was displaying it Particle Engine, an engine which requires a top secret power source that never runs out. Biotech is displaying some their new creations such as the X-Class hydroponics bay and their habitat technologies. Stargazer corp, the builders of the elevator, are displaying everything they have on the structure and how they built it.
Block 2 is filled with tech from RHI, SAL Shipping, and GMI. SAL is displaying the abilities of their transport fleet and warp drives while GMI is showing off several convenient household devices like ion powered ratchets. The big show in this block is RHI unveiling the ORIGIN system. The massive machine takes up most of the company's designated area, but it was worth every inch. People are flocking to the machine as it begins to construct anything and everything from screwdrivers to a mock armored core in a matter of minutes. The device is supposed to be a mass production device the removes the need of a factory.
Block three is where the military showcase is being held. USU armored vehicles and vessel models are on display and several Union Brass members are there mingling with other commanders of different nations, discussing tactics and old wars. In the center of the exhibit is on of the Union's prized weapons, the Standard. Standing 8 meters tall, the red and white mobile suit is one of the machines that led the USU to victory in the Union war and is a symbol of freedom for the nation.

Outside the Station
In dock one several merchant ships have come into port to show off their vessels and goods to the summit. The 1st fleet and the Commander wait a little ways from the station and shuttle craft are going to and from the fleet, giving tours on board the warships. As people enter the Commander they are surprised to find a massive colony on the inside, showing the ship was no built for war but for exploration. Warships like the Savior, Victory, and Enduring Hope are moving toward Defiance's Moon, Veda, where weapons testing, displays, and mock battles are going to be held.

An aide looks at alder, "I don't know about you but I am very impressed by many nations exhibits, the Hover tanks and Hounds of war are very interesting. I think the Particle Company may be booking a conference room with AE Celestia to try and make either a trade or Technology agreement with them!"
Alder smiles, "That would be good, the Particle Company is one of the nations largest corporations, it would be great if they could trade with outside nations. I just hope the same can be said about the nation itself."
As he finished speaking the door buzzed and opened and three arguing orbs flew in followed by the Stormwrath Representative, Pascal. Behind him walks Admiral Hide from the Empire. As the two enter the room Alder walks forward and shakes their hands, "On behalf of the United Star union I welcome you to the Summit and My nation. We are extremely grateful for you presence here and look forward to seeing more about your nations in the next several days. For right now, let us sit and talk of what each of you wish to address here before we begin to get into diplomatic talks. I want to get both of your views on the state of the universe and what you think of this Summit." Alder and the two representatives sit down and begin the conference.

Admiral Hackett sits down patiently and waits for someone to start Diplomatic speaks.
He is not interested in all the useless side chatter between nations.

[The Vizarian Union]

1st Fighter Group, 11th and 12th Air Wings

The 1st and 2nd Fleets which belong to the Vizarian Navy 1st Strike Group, accompanied by the 11th and 12th Air Wing of the 1st Fighter Group carry on as normal. Suddenly, they receive orders from Vizarian High Command. They take a sharp left, and head for the Kalakia Relay. "Sir, unknown ship approaching our vicinity, and it doesn't belong to the USU." said the CRO.

Commander Xelious responded "Coms link established with the unknown vessel?"

The Coms Link Officer jumped in "No sir, they have blocked off outside chatter!"

Commander Xelious frowned before saying "Send them a signal transmission, if that fails prepare the 11th Fleet for engagement. Ready the 12th Air Wing and have the 12th and 11th Air Wing on maximum alert. If these guys don't state their intention soon this will turn into a painful battle for them!"

"YES SIR!" The CLO responded before sending this signal transmission to the unknown ship (HMGS Roma):

this is King Lorenzo I of the Genoan Star Republic, captain of the starship HMGS Roma, we are on a test run of the roma, which is a prototype for a new battleship we are designing, our intentions are to analyze the planet and return home, we were unaware that it was already occupied

Alarms blared on Highgates orbital defense perimeter as several unidentified vessels warped in. The defenses came online and the planet's defensive stations all pointed their main cannons into space. The USU 5th Fleet stands by to engage.
"Unknown fleet, identity yourselves immediate or we will open fire due to you invasion of the Unions defensive perimeter of the Planet Highgate."
Another set of warp signature appear, Vizarian Union vessels. This fleet is ready for war, unlike the other fleet. The Union fleet prepares to intercept the vessels should they attack and the planetary defense units point their guns at the fleet.
"Vizarian Union fleet please state your intentions of being in this system and power down your weapons."
The Union forces around Highgate prepare for the worst.

Alder looks at the assembled delegates and stands, "As the host of this summit the Union would once again like to thank all who attended. Now to the matters of Diplomacy. The USU is looking for allies, as you all know we stand alone in this universe being a new nation by galactic standards. We wish to offer trade agreements, open boarders, defensive pacts, and cooperation to any nation who wishes to interact with us. The Union wishes to enter the community as an equal and is willing to comprise to make that happen. We also wish to expand out trade system and grow our markets to systems outside of Union control. The USU is also looking for military aid, as we have a decent military but we cannot stand against galactic superpowers as we are. If any nation wishes to take part in any of this, I am open to suggestions or treaties."
