ABOUT THIS RP
This RP shall take place starting in 1940 and will be a WWII era RP. Only WWII era and earlier era Technology will be allowed. A Real World map shall be used to make keeping track of this war easier. Participants may use cities, places, and events from their nation as long as it is still WWII era technology, realistic, and makes sense.

RULES:

• WWII Technology Is the latest technology allowed.
• No Godmodding.
• No Metagaming.
• All IC Posts must occur on the IC thread.
• No number spamming.
• No teleporting. transporting troops, assets, planes, and ships shall take at least three posts (on to send them off, one in the middle of transportation, and one to arrive). You may skip the second required post in transport if you make another post for other forces. You will also have to distance the IC times at a reasonable interval in transport (Going from London to Beijing will take more than a week).
• One may not retcon involvement (unless majority allows), as it would mess up the flow of the RP.
• Quitting the RP (unless otherwise retconned by dictate of the previous rule), shall be ICly taken as surrender/leaving the war.

OOC: Are we starting at 1940 historical starting? That is with all alliances, government types, wars etc currently in place? Or do we need to start those ourselves? Also how do we interact with NPC nations, or do we just ignore them as uninhabited?

London, UK, British Empire

The first task for the British government in the face of impending conflict was to re-connect with the Commonwealth nations. For the sake of preserving independence and sovereignty of the British Empire and her allies there were several ambassadors flown to the reaches of the Commonwealth. The ambassadors were sent to the following nations:
India (Kumbhalgarh)
Australia and New Zealand (Yevan)
Iraq and Syria (Amareval)

It is troubling times for the world and we stand upon the decisions that will shape the future of mankind. It is you, the delegation that this message is presented to, that must make the decision however. The United Kingdom and her Empire reach out a hand of mutual friendship in the form of trade agreements and formal military co-operation. For those that feel their interests lie in other places the British people extended the opportunity for a non-aggression pact between our sovereign nations.

We look forward to future co-operation in everything from commerce to military operations, training and lend-lease programs.



With the messengers sent the next objective was fairly straight forward. Britain was effectively isolated, even if these alliances went through completely there would be a massive physical distance between her and her allies. What was required was a massive build up of arms, vehicles and munitions to dissuade anyone from taking aggressive action against Britain. Most people believed Germany boasted the most advanced weaponry but this was a common misconception. The Matilda II tank was nearly invulnerable to just about every anti-tank weapon in the world just like the Soviet KV-1 was. The Lee-Enfield No. 4 was also a superior rifle in many aspects to the Mauser Karabinier. The issue was not quality, it was quantity.

Many millions of ammunition, tens of thousands of rifles, machine guns, mortars and artillery pieces were also ordered to bolster the conventional fighting forces for the defence of Britain. It wouldn't be for another month before the first harvest of the production line came through but from then on there would be a steady stream until the order was filled. It also set many industries into a war mentality which would make a future transition easier.

[Organized States]

Alaskan-Canadian Border, 12 Miles North of the Arctic Circle

A lone North American F-6A Mustang flew low through the ridges of the valley on the border with the Great Nation of Dan. The F-6A Mustang was a tactical recon aircraft designed to quickly take photographs at low level before returning to its base. The P-51A, was a perfect platform for this due to it's quite amazingly long range. The Mustang's Allison V-1720 engine purred silently as the cold of the Arctic Circle began to make itself known. 1st Lt. Harold Eagler, the Mustang's pilot checked his watch as he came up on the initial photography point, a few wooden shacks, thought to be a border guard post by Strategic Intelligence Service, the main OS Intelligence Service.

He looked down below as the three wooden buildings came into his view as his F-6A exited the valley. He pushed the nose downwards and dropped to 400 feet above the snow-capped terrain, revealing the Mustang's shadow in sharp contrast to the blank, pure whiteness below. Eagler tapped one of the buttons on his control stick as the camera mounted on the bottom of the aircraft began to snap pictures. One click. Two clicks. Three clicks. The camera snapped three photographs of the small border hamlet, before he pushed the F-6A around. He was now 6 miles inside of the Great Nation of Dan's Canadian territories. Shit, I'm too far inland. Time to go. Eagler thought as he turned the Mustang around towards OS-held Alaska.

The Tan House, Fairford, Columbia Commonwealth, the Organized States of America

President Gerald Franklin sat back in his chair and looked over another set of recon photos from the border with the Great Nation of Dan. A small village here. A small igloo here. His greying-brown hair was combed neatly and his rounded bifocal reading glasses sat on the edge of his nose, thus revealing the middle-aged and wise figure that had gotten this former Mayor of New York elected to the nation's highest office.

"What is so special about these photos, General?" Franklin remarked, putting down the set of pictures back into the Manila Envelope. Major General Thompson, Commander of the OS Army's Alaskan Command, the headquarters in charge of all OS Army and Army Air Forces operations in the region, shifted before choosing his words carefully.
"Myself and the others at Alaskan Command do believe that they are our next enemy. They do hold a rather large portion of Canada and they do represent a threat to Alaska, sir." said the General, placing his green cap on the coffee table behind him. The ornately furnish room, decorated by the First Lady, Mrs. Franklin, was the so-called "Center Piece" of American Power. The tall walls and high ceiling created a bright room, which was only helped by the massive windows and the priceless 1831 Chandelier that hung from the ceiling. The center of the room was dominated by the President's desk, an imposingly-large maple construction that was built in 1799 as a gift to Jonathan Fairford, the first commanding general of the Continental Army and the Organized States' first President, from the King of France.

"I doubt it. How do they pose any threat to us at all?" asked Franklin, taking off his reading glasses. All I see are little godforsaken hamlets that we don't even know are inhabited!" he continued.

"Sir, I must insist..." the General trailed off as he was cut off by the President.

"If you insist, provide me evidence and I want it soon. Then, I'll make my decision. Dismissed."

"Er, Yes, sir."

Germania plans the take over of the island of Crete but the invasion is still being planned in secrecy.

The Dragomerian Islands has been building up its navy. It now has 450 naval ship* spread out among its naval ports. The Monarchy had wanted to gain more oil reserves for its military, so it set its sights on the territory owned by Vivoe and Yevan just south of the Philippines**. Dragomere, the monarch of the Dragomerian Islands had also sought out the areas north of the Dragomerian Mainland (Japan). He then gave the order for the second Fleet to head south with 50,000 troops and take the enemy territory south of his nation. He also ordered 50,000 men to invade the unclaimed territories just north of the Dragomerian mainland. King Drago Dragomere had decided against informing the targeted nations of any declaration of war, as he wanted them to figure that out on their own.

Second Fleet (Philippines)
The Second Fleet, consisting of 4 Battleships, 3 Fleet Carriers, 1 Light Carrier, 1 Escort Carrier, 5 Heavy Cruisers, 6 Light Cruisers, 30 Destroyers, and 30 Submarines, was now on its way to the enemy territories of Vivoe and Yevan on the islands just to the south of the Philippines. On the ships were 50,000 soldiers ready to invade and expand the territory of their homeland.

The 50,000 were making their way north by means of landing craft. They had their rifles ready for any resistance that they could meet. Nearby, Dragomerian fighters and bombers were flying to give cover to the invading ground forces. The goal of this invasion was to expand territory and to establish a base there for future military efforts.

The Germanian states have made the plan to attack Crete and the Germanian bombers are preparing for a mass bombing.

The Eastern Germanian States have launched a spy plane over to neighboring Organized States and planes were taking photos of cities like Istanbul and Bursa.

The Germanian Vice-Chancellor(yes our government system is weird) denies claims of these being spy planes and he claims it to be Crop dusters who lost their path. As there are a lot of Crop Dusters in the Eastern Germanian States it seems as a logical explanation as Germanian planes were still old and shabby Biplanes.

Germania again postpones it's invasion of Crete due to Suspicion of starting a war and the Generals agree as the world has turned it's eyes on Germania the country must act natural.

The Germanian Chancellor is dead from old age and died in his sleep. The Germanians hold a funeral as his younger peace loving sister takes power of the country and cancels the whole operation on Crete.

The Germanians now Like Käsefondue a cheese soup and Pasta is now 2nd most favourited meal followed by Wurst. The Germanians discovered Käsefondue when the Chancellor(now dead) went to Liechtenstein for a holiday retreat in 1935 and discovered their tasty cuisines which was brought back to Germania and everyone loved it saying it is a brilliant invention.

The Germanian military is now only 25.000 strong and only had 550 tanks and 250 aircraft but the Chancellor's sister insists no such attack can happen and tells them not to worry.

[Vikingardr]

The Vikingardr kingdom's prime minister of foreign affairs and Vionna-Frankenlisch foreign dignitary met in secret, in fear of the Third Reich and the Nation of Dan, proposed an alliance. Vikingardr began to build up armaments, in fear of possible conflict with Vivoe or some other nation. The Kingdom wished to keep out radicals, and had recently set up a few internment camps for political dissidents. While some nations were concerned, Vikingardr simply told them that it was for safety reasons, and that no minorities shall be held in them. The military industrial complex, while small in Vikingardr, was producing decent quality arms, and prepared for a war of attrition if worst came to worst...

Germania has kept its military in reserve as there seem to be no threats from nearby nations. The Germanians are now focusing on agriculture and advancement but has done little for advancement but invented Sewing machines.

[Yevan]

Yescow, Yevan 1500 hours

10 PB4Y-2 Patrol planes fly over the capital, the patrol comes at an uneasy time for the Yevani government and the world as a whole. The patrol is looking for any sort of foreign reconnaissance spy planes looking at the capital which lies at a crucial spot on the Kalimantan Island(the big island) near the Yeani-Vivoean border. Relations with Vivoe have been rumored to be rather chilly lately as the Yevani government has made a few past attempts to try to capture Vivoe's spice islands territories which Yevan says is rightfully thiers. Rumor has it that Yevan has been secretly sending military forces to the Yevani-Vivoean border recently and may attempt to take the north portion of the Kalimantan Island, although these are just rumors.
Flying high up to get a good vantage the patrol continues, they fly fast yet vigilant trying to cover as much ground as possible. If a plane is found they are ordered to shoot it down without hesitation, it could led to an international incidents but its a risk the government is willing to take to protect their sovereignty.

[Vivoe]

British Armed Forces

The Royal Navy was the largest, most sophisticated and arguably the best trained naval force in the world, a reputation it had held on to since the battle of Gravelines. Unfortunately those numbers were split between three main theaters of operation, the home fleet, the Mediterranean fleet and the pacific fleet. Of these the Pacific fleet was the most numerous, the recent expeditions into Korea and Manchuria had not gone unnoticed and the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, felt that the Empire's interests in Asia were threatened. For this reason in the recent weeks the Pacific Fleet had been bolstered along with the garrisons in Burma, Singapore and Malaysia.

In the face of the an ambitious Japan the garrisons in the east were ordered to go through several bouts of war games in order to better their fighting capabilities. The British Empire was still awaiting the reply of three offers of co-operation and was currently standing alone. The Prime Minister issues an announcement that Britain looked forward to a peaceful future but would fight tooth and nail should they be challenged for territory already claimed by Britain. Upon recent events in the Scandanavian nations there was some issue with how they were dealing with their people. Winston Churchill offered the following:

To the nation of Sweden and Finland (Vionna-Frankenlisch) as well as Denmark and Norway (Vikingardr) we extend the hand of friendship to reinforce a historically peaceful relation between our people. We propose the formal alliance, both military and civil, between our nations for the betterment of our people. Should you agree both nations would be bound to the agreement to come to the aid of the other should war be declared against one or the other.

There is a single condition to Denmark and Norway's (Vikingardr) agreement. The government must cease all prosecution of people deemed "radicals" and must immediately dissolve all internment camps. The British Empire offers to accept all those considered as "political dissidents" to instead be transported to Great Britain where they would be granted citizenship.

We hope to hear a reply as soon as possible.

Upon reviewing this tempting request from The Free Land of Vivoe, the Yevani congress in a close vote of 96-84 has voted to accept Vivoe's proposal to sign a non-aggression pact and would be most delighted to expand diplomatic relations with Viveo and do a better job to forge a strong alliance between Yevan and Vivoe instead of continuing the decades long rivalry. Using this non-aggression treaty Yevan hopes that both Yevan and Vivoe are able to protect both their citizens and interests in the region from growing instability in the region.

In light of new threats posed by Dragomerian Yevan will be stationing troops and navy fleets in the northern port town of Greytia. About 65,000 troops are planned to be stationed in two navy bases around Greytia. 6 Battleships and 2 Aircraft carriers will also be stationed in the bases. Units are expected to arrive shortly

The British Empire is pleased to announced the implementation of a non-aggression pact between Britain and Australia and New Zealand (Yevani) that will hopefully mark the start of a prosperous future for both nations.

There are currently four still pending offers for a peaceful future to the following nations:
India and China (Kumbhalgarh)
Sweden and Finland (Vionna-Frankenlisch)
Denmark and Norway (Vikingardr)
Iraq and Syria (Amareval)

The war games involved the garrisons in Singapore, Burma and Malaysia. Specifically the soldiers practiced the technique of penetrating extremely thick jungle in low numbers and out flanking enemy strong points. It was a slow and difficult process but one that was essential to jungle warfare, flanking and maneuver was the be all and end all of infantry combat. Through the dense and sometimes impenetrable jungles any force who did not use these cornerstones was doomed to fail.

More importantly to global politics the fleets stationed in Singapore and Malaysia were operating to the west of the Philippines and to the east of Vietnam. This task force was the combination of two of the three eastern battle fleets and were scouting, play-fighting and exercising in that stretch of ocean. Germanians have heard rumors about Southeast Asia being rich in Spices and have always wanted it's bountiful resources. A small expedition ship named "Gallant" was sent out to Southeast Asia but it may take some time for it to arrive in designated Malaya(present day Malaysia). Having no knowledge of the Garrisons there.

The option for the Royal Australian and New Zealand Navies (Yevan) to participated in these exercises is extended with the hopes of reinforcing the recent progress made towards mutual co-existence.

The Germanian exploration vessel has docked in South Africa for engine repairs and resupply. The sailors are confident if bountiful spices there all for them again unaware of the British fortifications there. The locals tell us of large fortifications there but we refuse to believe them and think it is just a small settlement.
