Also, Vivoe, You do not own the Strait of Gebralter. Technically, Nivok Baves asked for the entire peninsula which kind of includes the Strait of Gebralter. Since you applied after him, he recieved the Strait as part of his claim, therefore you could not receive it. I actually forgot that the Strait was considered part of the British empire in RL (which is what your claim was).

Umm did you just make a whole bunch of flak proof aircraft? Cause that's pretty much what you just said. An early war Panzer 2 couldn't take a direct hit from 20mm autocannon and that weighed 9 ton. A fully loaded hurricane weighs less than half that. It is beyond stupid to think that a 9 ton aircraft could hope to dream of coming even slightly close to the turning circles and speed of a dedicated fighter aircraft. There was no aircraft in the entire war and there is currently no aircraft ever in human history that could be armoured to such an extent that flak would not harm it. Don't go and say "Well it's only reduced how much damage flak does" because that's still fucking dumb

No, just flak resistant. Essentially, armored aircraft that are less affected by flak (unless some hit the propellers). All flak is, is shrapnel, so armor would make it less susceptible. Also, I did not claim that flak does not affect them.

I said, reduce the effect of flak, not eliminate the effect of flak. It can still be very much shot down. It just has a thicker armor/fuselage.

The concept works out by reducing payload, range and speed/maneuverability. Armor is a viable way, but a bit costly due to the need for more of them to deliver the same payload as regular models.

Flak works in two ways, either direct impact or bullet sized fragments travelling at 6 times the speed of sound ripping through your plane and killing your crew with shrapnel. What you are saying is ridiculous, assuming you could armour a plane to that extent with WW2 engines and have it actually take off then you would burn through so much fuel you wouldn't make it ten miles.

It's not just 5mm steel that you're throwing up, it's 35 or 40mm steel plate. The sort of stuff you'd find on a Panzer IV and if you haven't noticed, panzers can't fly. Even the A-10 Thunderbolt II's bathtub of 540 kilograms of TITANIUM has trouble absorbing hits from anything larger than 23mm cannon. You would need twice the thickness and probably eight times the weight in steel to do the same job and even then you're only covering the pilot, nothing else. Wings, fly-by-wires, fuel tanks, engines, the rest of the plane are still exposed just like they would be normally

Also, When will you read it correctly? It clearly states "more heavily armored against Flak and other AA fire", and not "Bullet proof".

Besides, you forgot to take into account that the exploding of the flak actually slows down the impact speed of the shrapnel.

Except it was never built. And never flew. And never was approved by the Reich Air Ministry.

You know, and the fact that the sound barrier wasn't broken until 1947, and was done by Chuck Yeager. In the Bell X-1. An American aircraft.
