Overview
The Stonewall Alliance is an international organisation bound by a common Charter that strives to achieve equal rights for gender and sexual minority (GSM) peoples worldwide. By actively advocating GSM rights and issues, the Stonewall Alliance works towards ending discrimination against GSM citizens around the globe. The Stonewall Alliance is active in securing equal rights for those in the workplace, at local and national levels, and also in educating people about GSM issues. By seeking to improve the lives of the international GSM community, we reinforce our goal of achieving fundamental fairness and equality for all people.
Stonewall is headquartered in Rome, the capital of the Roman Kingdom, although some States-Party host other parts of the organisation.

Alliance Business
At present, all Alliance business is conducted in the discussion thread, although it is dormant. This thread is for general information (this post), and membership applications only. Depending on activity, other threads may be established; they'll be listed as needed.
Joining
To become a member (a State Party) a nation must accede to (i.e., ratify), at a minimum, the Core Charter without exception, omission, or reservation.
There are also five additional optional protocols, dealing with matters of finance, further legal protections, and defence affairs, that States Party can choose to ratify (or not) if they wish:
-The Optional Extended Legal Protections provides some additional safeguards for GSM people (strengthening further what the Charter requires), while the Optional Protocol for the Protection of Romantic Minorities extends them to polyamorous persons;
-The Financial Protocol handles raising of revenue - if you don't ratify this protocol, you don't have to pay dues to the Alliance, but you also have no say over how the money is spent; and
- The First Defence Protocol is a mutual protection pact, while the Second is a bit more aggressive in scope (be aware that action taken under the Defence Protocols is subject to oversight from the Collective Action Council).
Nations can also become observer-states, and non-government organisations are welcome to register in an observer capacity as well (fill out form 3).
If you want to include a cover letter with your application, please address it to Vice Secretary-General, Sir Septimus Aldrali, Head of the Admissions and Membership Office, Stonewall Alliance - a cover letter is optional. Messages addressed to the Federated Star Empire of Macisikan will get ignored.
