Maitean Southern Border
The Squadrons were able to avoid the enemy fighters, it was unknown what had become of the enemies, but that didn't matter. Task Force 108 was on the move. "This is Hawkeye, enemy tanks are off your 10 o'clock, suggest you provide fire support for friendly units in the area, over" the message came across their radios. "Kiev 1 copies, Hawkeye. Thunder 2-1, provide gunship support for friendly units, target enemy tanks, take Thor 6 and Thor 7 for an escort" Viktor ordered. "Thunder 2-1 copies" "Thor 6, roger that" "Thor 7, on station with Thor 6" the responses came. "This is Thunder 3-1, how are your fuel levels?" one of the mid-air refuelling aircraft pilots asked. "This is Thunder 2-1, running below half in our first tank, long distance external tank 1 is empty" "This is Thor 6, we're good for now, had a full tank before take off, but a top off wouldn't go astray" "This is Thor 7, same as 6 said, a top off would be nice, our afterburners ate a chunk of fuel up" the responses came. The four aircraft broke formation, Thunder 2-1 was first, as the AC-130 Gunship needed the most fuel, and finally Thor 6 and 7 got their top off. Thunder 3-1 returned to formation as the gunship and it's escorts flew towards the tanks. A radio message was sent to Maitea. "This is CNA Task Force 108, to Maitean Military Command, we are coming in from your border, slightly to the east of the enemy tank line, requesting an airbase to land at, over" Viktor said after Hawkeye patched him through to the Maitean frequency.
Note: When it comes to Thunder Squadron, since they are made up of various aircraft, they are numbered thus: Squadron name, Wing Number, Aircraft Number. For example: Thunder 2-1 is Thunder Squadron, Wing 2, Aircraft 1. Currently Wing 2 consists of Gunships and Bombers.
