The apocalypses and other Arab forces have agreed to start the offensive cross the border right at the same time as the Cedorian allies. The apocalypse division will be the thrust, following the Mamluks, the Mechanized Division and the group of field infantry. A total of 52,000 troops and 210 Arab tanks will participate the offensive. 120 aircraft will also provide fire support.

Cedorian-Maitean Border

The PRA's general offensive has begun, weakened by the failure of constant assaults on Cedorian positions, with low morale, the Maitean forces are nearing their breaking point. With their military airbases either destroyed or disabled by PAFC bombing runs, the PRA ground offensive should be unchallenged from the air, especially with PAFC fighter squadrons acting in close support from the air. The Cedorian, Brillnian and Arab troops launch their joint offensive at the Maitean lines, because the Maiteans are in offensive positions, they are Ill-prepared to receive an attack on their own lines. With the PRA tanks spearheading the onslaught knocking out any remaining Maitean tanks and driving the infantry before them, PRA soldiers and vehicles kill many Maitean soldiers. Heavily outnumbered and outgunned by the Communist forces, the PRA offers the Maiteans an opportunity to surrender. Giving the Maitean Commanders two hours to accept or refuse, on the promise that there men will be treated in accordance with international laws and conventions on the rights of POW's, the PRA hopes that this will force the surrender of the already exhausted and malnourished Maitean troops, thereby turning the war decisively in Cedoria's favour. The PRA requests that their Arab and Brillnian allies move their forces to encircle the Maiteans, thereby entrapping the enemy in their current positions, giving them no option but to surrender or die.

Following the directives of Chairman Vallance Vallen, the People's Intelligence Agency had discreetly made contact with a high-ranking Maitean general. He told the Cedorians that he and other senior military officials had advised the Maitean President to surrender, but that the President had refused this. When presented with the Cedorian proposal of seizing control from the President, the Maitean General had stated that the President was currently holed up in an underground bunker. However, he had also stated that if he and his supporters could move against the President, and seize control of the government on the surface, then it wouldn't matter whether the President was alive or not, as the Generals would be in control of Maitea, and the military would follow their orders. The PIA has advised the General to immediately gather his supporters and seize control of the Capital on the surface, dealing with any loyalists to the President, once they are in control, then they can announce Maitea's surrender, and then the PIA will move operatives into Maitea to help them root out the President. Even if they can't reach the President, he will not be in control of his country, and therefore will be powerless if the general can secure control of the capital. The General has accepted the PIA's advice, and indicated that he was willing to move immediately to seize control of Maitea and make peace with Cedoria. The details of the formal peace treaty will be discussed later, but for now, the People's Republic of Cedoria hopes that the General's plan will succeed, and that the war can be brought to an end quickly, once the mad President has been deposed.

OOC: The Coup is yours to RP Maitea, just make sure you RP it properly, since the President is underground, he is unlikely to have any control if the coup succeeds, because he has isolated himself from his followers. I'll let you RP what happens. Coup, Revolution, Army mutiny, or some combination.

The People's Republic of Cedoria states that if the Maitean Government is willing to lay down their arms, accept the peace treaty we have proposed, to end the war that they themselves have started. Once they have done so, Cedoria is quite happy to agree with the Arvenian's demands, but we will not compromise our own right to national self-defence.

The USSAJ also agrees with Cedoria's conditions, and urges the Maitean government to stop the unjust conflict, already caused woe to thousands of innocent civilians as well as people from all sides. Arab troops agree to withdraw from captured territory as soon as possible if peace is accomplished. We DO NOT ACCEPT armistices. We will not terminate our hostility against Maitea and its allies if the war as well as hostilities against Cedoria is not ended itself.

Cedorian-Maitean Border

With the encirclement of the Maitean troops complete, all the PRA can do is wait, the enemy soldiers are already fed-up with the fight and are tired. Even if there officers try to maintain some semblance of cohesion, the soldiers will likely ignore any orders to fight the PRA, as it would now mean suicide. Overhead, the PAFC fighter jets scream through the air, not firing, but covering their comrades from the air, and serving as a reminder that the PRA has aerial superiority now.

Also, with the Maitean Army encircled, PRA light units are now beginning to move into undefended villages and towns near the Maitean border. Although initially fearful of the PRA due to Government propaganda, the citizens quickly open their doors to the PRA. Our comrade soldiers move freely amongst the inhabitants, distributing food, water and extra humanitarian and medical supplies. The PRA have also set up a makeshift hospital in an abandoned building, and are asking civilians to come forward for extra medical supplies and treatment if necessary. The PRA is greeted by cheering crowds from the nearby towns and villages, happy to be liberated from the yoke of their oppressive government. The PRA also distributes many pamphlets and leaflets of a propagandistic nature, educating citizens about the true nature of Marxism and clearing up any 'misconceptions' that had been left by the Imperialist Maitean regime. These PRA scout teams also take charge of the nearby radio station, and People's News Network dispatches a broadcaster there. Clearly the PRA has won the hearts and minds of these people at least.

OOC: Still waiting for Maitea to post the coup attempt or revolution or whatever it is. Once he's done it then I will respond. But we'd better wait for him first.

It should also be noted that I pulled out of this RP a couple of pages ago, it just seems that Maitea hasn't updated the thread title yet. I'm currently fighting a pretty drawn out war in my region, so if someone actually has interests in making war with me they will have to wait.

Skies over Maitea

Horten 229's and Canberra's are dropping propaganda leaflets over Maitean skies. The aim is to tell citizens and soldiers that the Maitean government is corrupt. They proclaim:
"Citizens of Maitea, you're government is lying to you! They may be caring for you, but their plans are to destroy the proletariat and bourgeoisie! They want to ransack every country, and turn it into puppet states! Many countries are against Maitea now, even their former ally. If you want a fairer Maitea, stand up against your government!"
They also drop leaflets about Market Socialism.
Back in Brillnuck

The final preparations are made for the assault on Maitea. The assault is in 24 hours.

Because of the upcoming situation, Westerburg is well aware that more than one person is going to try and kill him in the next 48 hours. As a result, he is hiding in a very deep bunker with high security and mines surrounding the top, unaware to the enemy. He plans to use the entire army to protect the country and win the war. If he wins, he will no longer allow children in the military and set the limit back to 18. Until then, the battle is going to continue to the last man.

As the Battle of Deuncshtenstein (capital of Maitea) comes ever closer, defenses prepare themselves with the last of the army's strength. Anyone still in Cedoria is evacuated and sent to Maitea to defend against the invaders. The entire army is positioned in the country, ready to strike when the time comes.

Meanwhile, a new rebel group is slowly forming. Their nickname is the Maicoms, as that's a quick way to say "Maitean Communist Liberation Army". They attack military positions, and despite having a lot of weapons, they're being pretty much destroyed by Maitean soldiers. They keep fighting, however, knowing that Cedoria will finish them off and liberate the country.

We're not fascist, we're a democracy unlike your "People's Republic" in which the people don't have a say. They are mindless drones gobbling up any propaganda you feed them. We're a constitutional monarchy, and heck, I bet Fascist Bosakia had more democracy than your regime.

After Bosakia abolished Social Welfare, we have been producing many equipment and vehicles. 300 Aircraft (175 Bombers 125 Fighter Jets) have been sent to bomb Cedorian positions in Maitea. 30,000 Bosakian troops have been sent to help prepare the Capital for the battle. The Sultan has sent a personal gift of 3.5 million Qunshahars to President Westerburg. 20 Bosakian officers have been sent to train the troops of Maitea.

Techis would wish to assist both countries in peace talks and ceasefire on both sides. The military is on standby mode while the garrison in Maitea works to repair damage made by bombing raids. Should attempts to reach peace fail, Techis is prepared to assist Maitea, but only to defend it, and wishes a promise that Maitea does not have any further plans of conquest
