War on Cedoria and Syike {IC}

For support of Cedoria, in Defence of wrongful accusation, invasion, and threat of imperialist ideals, the Holy Emperor Elias has ordered the mobilization of 30,000 Imperial Rangers to be sent from the BT into Cedoria to support them. Along with 1,000 AA and AT guns, 250 Tanks and Armored vehicles. Being flown into the war zones through Manta Heavy Cruisers.

6 Hours Until Drop
The Imperial Ranger Battalion Sigma sat in one of the dozens of manta cruisers on route to one f the major battle zones. The ship full of 50 Soldiers, all armored in C-1 Combat Armor of A-2 Heavy Armor. Speaking quietly amongst themselves, waiting.

Due to an old friendship between the states of Serrian and Cedoria, and due to the completely unjust attacks being made by Maitea, the External Operations Force is mobilizing for defense, and 15 million soldiers of the EOF-OU, plus 400 MA-3203 "Durandal" artillery systems, are ready to be deployed on the Cedorian border if their government should permit it.

Additionally, Iron Fist MKII is ready in orbit, and targeting the Maitean capital. Should the conflict escalate, it will be fired.

Because of their newly gained and outrageous defenses, the 2nd invasion attempt is being delayed while generals think of new strategy. Meanwhile, soldiers left behind are left alone with nothing but everyone with them, and 90% of left behind soldiers are either captured, killed on sight with no problem, or die of starvation trying to survive.

Alpha Base, Maitea

Lieutenant General Wolfe Atkins, leader of the Techan task force, once again looked at the map. The front lines still hadn't moved into Maitean borders, but they were still too close. Techis could debate their stance on the war as much as they liked, he doubted that undecided was going to stop any bombers from hitting them. The task force wasn't a great threat, even after its growth they only barely counted as a Corps, but certainly were big enough to be a very big target. It had only been a matter of a few weeks when the situation went from assisting in finding a way to find "Snowball" to a major attack and planned conquest of Cedoria.

Alpha base had been a temporary base for the forces generously provided by the Maitean government, building off of the pre established infrastructure of an abandoned town. It was the only place the Techan government would allow him to hold his forces at, so every soldier was at this one spot. The base had seen many upgrades and expansions to accommodate and maintain the force, he wondered what Maintea's enemies saw when they looked there. The intelligence lackeys could say whatever they want, Wolfe would lead the men, front in line, towards a line of machine gun nests if they could actually tell bombing runs "Hey, we may be a huge military base in enemy territory, but don't bomb us! We're neutral!". So until Techis took a side, it was day after day of worry.

With the increasing lowering of morale amongst the Maitean forces following the disastrous failure of their attempt too attack Cedoria, the leading Communist Party officials are now discussing the best cause of action for bringing the Maiteans aggression to a decisive end. Whilst we cannot tell what is being discussed inside the People's House there should be a formal press statement soon...

"Comrade Chairman, there is no need to take any further action, we can just hold our current defensive lines and let the enemy batter themselves to death against our defences, their morale is so low anyway, I doubt the soldiers would obey their officers, certainly not in an attack like that.." The Head of the People's Intelligence Agency stated
"Comrade Chairman, it is my belief we must take further military action, we must take the war to Maitea itself, we need to remember that they are the aggressors here. Since the Maiteans have attempted to invade us, making an example of them now would be useful in deterring acts of future aggression from other enemies in the future." The Defence Commissar said.

As the arguments and ideas flew back and forth across the round table in the War Room, Chairman Vallance listened quietly, when the last person had finally said their piece, he finally spoke.

"Comrades, in February 1917, the Russian Tsar Nicholas II was brought down by a spontaneous popular revolution. Tsarist Imperialism was replaced in one swift stroke with Liberal Democracy. Most people were happy and content with that, in their view, the mission was accomplished. All people that is, except one."
"Was Comrade Lenin satisfied? Did he simply accept that the revolution had brought down the Tsar, and that was that? No, he was adamant about the necessity for a second revolution, to replace capitalist revolution with a socialist one. To give true power to the proletariat, Lenin knew that this was the only way."
"Although the Soviet Union is gone now, it's lessons can still be preserved. The same situation as the one facing Lenin now faces us, the Emperor which started this aggression against us has been deposed and replaced with a new government, which claims to be a democracy. We can leverage this popular discontent to our advantage comrades." Vallance Vallen's voice grew louder with excitement as his ideas poured forth.
"We currently are protecting Comrade Snowball, that is the first step, as he is critical to our plan. But more importantly, we need to take action that will bring about an end to this war quickly, in order for him and his Communist comrades still in hiding to return to Maitea."
"We must encourage a revolt of the proletariat in Maitea, the continuance of the war is unpopular already. I propose that we should mount a campaign of sustained bombing from the air on urban population centres within Maitea. Key infrastructure and production facilities should be particularly targeted. Factories, bridges, roads, railways, air control towers, oil wells and refineries, all of these facilities should be targeted. In addition to damaging the enemy's ability to prosecute the war effort, it will make the proletariat even more unhappy. Living under a campaign like this will mean the proletariat will put pressure on their leaders. Either they will force their new leaders to sue for peace, or they will seize power themselves in a revolution, either way, our goals will have been achieved and the threat from Maitea will be removed. Do you agree with this plan comrades?"

In response to nods and quick looks of excitement from the other people in the room, Vallance continued
"Very well, immediately order our air bomber squadrons on the airfields to take off for Maitea. Targeting the major towns and cities in the country, Factories, refineries, bridges and railways should be priority on this operation. Have fighter squadrons alongside them as escorts in case the enemy tries to scramble fighters. Good luck Comrades!"


Airspace over Maitea 2140 hours

The huge, dull roar of fighter and bomber squadrons could be heard over the towns and cities of Maitea as night fell over them. The Cedorian squadrons had their orders and went on to fufill their mission. There were sudden, brilliant flashes seen on the ground below as the dropped bombs exploded over their targets. The factory districts, bridges, several railway connecting points and military airbases have been the main targets of Cedorian bombs. Although enemy fighters do not seem to have scrambled, several bombers are downed by AA guns. As the first wave of bombers completes their payload, they can see huge firestorms down in the city below, caused by the destruction of key infrastructure assets by Cedorian bombing. Most of the targets appear to have been hit or near hit, but the huge fires make it impossible to tell for certain. As the first bomber squadrons head back towards their base, the second wave comes in, fighter escorts in tow.

This could go on all night....

Cedorian-Maitean Border
Although the enemy has not yet decided to attack, PRA forces are calm and relaxed, they are confident that they can repel a second attack from the Maitean forces. Just to be sure however, PRA artillery batteries stationed behind the lines move forward slightly, and begin launching long-range strikes on the Maitean formations, particularly their tanks and transports. Whilst not expecting to destroy the force, the constant barrage should keep the Maiteans stationery and further lower their morale whilst their commanders dither and debate what to do.

(OOC: Decided to expand the war hehe, intending to get the Maitean people to revolt against their government, October 1917 style. Maitea, feel free to RP the battle from your perspective, AA guns, try to launch fighters etc, just remember that I'm bombing your airfields whilst your trying to do so. That was only the first wave, so you can RP the rest of them, within reason.

Santiagan forces try to evade the enemy bombing run, but many are killed or wounded. The Santiagan troops don't see how the battle can go on much longer. They still fight, however.

Because of the consant air raids, foreign invasions, and minimal support, generals agree that there's no other time than now, as if they take too long, they'll be too weakened to fight by the time they have an unbeatable strategy. They've come up with a quickly designed plan titled "Not silent but deadly", which goes as follows.
1. With as much support as possible, spray toxic gases over Cedorian defenses while keeping the planes that spray heavily protected in the process.
2. While the defenses are busy supplying themselves with the equipment to fight off the gas, send in as much as possible from each direction, leaving at the least one side loosely defended.
3. Fool the support by sending a lot of planes in the east and west sides of the country, making them think we're doing a split-up attack, and while they use everything they have on these two sides, we charge in from north or south, depending on which one is the least defended.
4. By the time the enemy has gotten used to the gas and are pretty much immune, we've already made a foothold.
5. Send extra troops to the foothold areas, and once everything's done, abandon east and west and begin the northern/and or southern charges.

This plan is started immediately and troops are on their way, for this is Maitea's last resort.
We either gain the upper hand in this battle, or lay in ash.

"Comrade Leader, there are a group of unidentified Maitean planes currently vectoring towards our PRA comrades positions along the border, escorted by fighter jets, vector to intercept and shoot down as many as you can"
"Roger Tower, but wouldn't it be better to continue escorting the bombers of the second wave?"
"This take precedence Comrade, we don't know what's in those plans, but it certainly can't be good."

The PAFC fighter squadrons caught up with the Maitean 'gas planes' and their escorts before they reached the border. Although the gas planes are escorted, the PAFC's superior combat experience proves to be more than enough to deal with their escort fighters, either by destroying them or keeping them engaged so that other comrades can slip through. Most of the gas planes appear to have been destroyed, however, a few have made it through to the border, and the PAFC took some fighter losses in the engagement.

Cedorian-Maitean Border
Temporary confusion, and then brief panic reigned over the Cedorian line as the gas was deployed. However, quickly, the officers realised what was occurring. Shouting to their soldiers to equip their gas masks (like most modern armies, a standard issue gas mask was given to all infantry in the PRA) they themselves also equipped theirs. In all, the gas attack is largely ineffective. The artillery guns are too far away to be affected by the gas, and continue pounding the Maitean positions, and the armoured tank formations are still in reserve, waiting to make an armoured counterattack if necessary. Although the gas masks themselves are uncomfortable, and some soldiers did not put them on in time, the PRA lines hold. More significantly, PRA Commanders also realise that their enemy has made a tactical mistake. They were expecting their own soldiers to charge through the gas cloud to get to the Cedorians!
Unbelievably, the Maiteans had shot themselves in the foot, figuratively speaking, as most of their soldiers would probably be unwilling to charge into the gas cloud to engage the PRA. Even so, officers are preparing their comrade soldiers just in case they are needed to fend off a final attack.

Skies Over Maitea

Burst of flame erupts on the ground of the cities and towns below as thousands of bombs being dropped on Maitean population centres creates an ironically beautiful flash to light up the night sky. The second wave of PAFC bombers is even more devastating than the first, targets given priority were arms factories, AA Guns, bridges and several key railroads leading out of the cities. Although the AA guns do again take out some bombers, the PAFC bombing campaign seems to have inflicted heavy damage to infrastructure in Maitea's population centres, particularly the capital, which has been extensively bombed by both waves. As the second wave of bombers begins their RTB processes, leaving a burning trail of flame, smoke and destruction behind them, the third and final wave begins it's ascent towards Maitea.

With the Maiteans needing to charge a gas cloud, and their cities being bombed to rubble from the air, things do look bleak for the Imperialists. Maybe next time they will learn not to mess with the People's Republic of Cedoria.

(OOC: Seriously, why do you think most gas attacks in WWI failed miserably? You are expecting your soldiers to charge straight into a gas cloud that they have created. I've no problem with you having this in the story mind you, just so long as you can think of a creative way to motivate your soldiers to try and charge into a cloud of poison gas against determined enemy positions, your morale is pretty low anyway.
