The ever present and ever growing problem of the SFE was only putting the council more on edge....

The room went completely silent for a few moments. Then some wicked smiles began to spread across the faces of the ministers.

Hernandez slicked his hair back as he waited to enter the Flaming Almighty's office. Shaler was up to something, and this raised considerable concerns. A secretary walked up and showed him into the office. He saluted as he stood before the Almighty who was lounging at his desk smoking.
"At ease," said the Almighty, "This visit is very sudden Hernandez, we could have easily talked over the radio so this better be important."
Hernandez nodded in acknowledgement to the subtle threat. "It's very troubling sir, the amount of Shaler's spies being intercepted at the border has started to increase some."
"Well that isn't very bad, doesn't that mean border control is getting better?" he replied with and edge that clearly showed he was skeptical about the importance of this, and Hernandez's life expectancy.
"That's what I thought as well sir, but it kept increasing to a point. Also the amount of captures inside the border started dropping, almost to the point of non-existence but for a few. We've also found a distinct lack of intel on recent captures and kills," replied Hernandez.
"Hmmm, this is very interesting," mused the Almighty, "Shaler wouldn't give up this easily on proving us guilty, so if they're withdrawing then they're up to something. Tighten security on all sensitive locations, especially here. I want every staff member in those places triple background checked for discrepancies. Kill anyone with connections to Shaler."
"Will do sir," replied Hernandez, "I also would advise we start sending agents into Shaler sir. They've been trained as much as possible on how to survive even our counter intelligence strategies. Very few will be captured if at all."
"Fine, send a small amount in. Advise them to always be ready to commit suicide if captured. No interrogations, no prisoners."
"As you wish," said Hernandez as he saluted and left the office. He needed to debrief the few agents that would be sent in. Only the best and most devout would go, and no one would be coming back until peace was made or Shaler was gone.

Back in his office, the Flaming Almighty decided it was time to call on the few allies he had. China needed to at least stay out of this, but help would be most appreciated.

"First, may I congratulate the Seneschal, for the annexation of Nigeria. Admiral Audreys Wellince has taken temporary control of the territory as the Supreme Representative of the Federal Government. However, we have hear the dispatch of the Ismeili Caliph, Süleyman. It follows as such.

We request you leave Nigeria, your incursions on the Northern States of Africa are not unnoticed and are not allowed by us, we will not stand for aggression on them, If you wish anything in return of this request except land we will arrange a meeting, but denial of our request will not go unnoticed, you have a week to respond to us or else...
We hope this does not degrade our relations as neighbors, but resolve this problem.

Then it is followed by his signature. Would the Government wish to state something before we proceed?"
The federal orators looked around and adjusted their seats. The room had become much more uncomfortable over the last minute. The Tribunes Consul had spoken in a clear voice, but even in her most declarative tone, there was still that hint of worry.
"Thank you, Tribunes Consul Roby," said the Seneschal, "for the compliment. And the matters of Nigeria and Africa, well, my government has discussed this matter for the last few days. For the most part, we've agreed on two things, I will meet with the Caliph and Nigeria must remain Rodrenon's." That's when the bickering began. Should Nigeria stay Rodrenon's, Ismeil had been a nation in that area for a longer time, do they have the right to say things like this, but then there's the oil, the trade, and the soldiers who died for the war.
"Yes, what about the soldiers, said the Leader of the Opposition in the Chamber of Tribunes, Hames Nolley. I understand they did a huge duty and honor for fighting for the Rodredt cause, but I'm not going to ask them to fight anymore than what they've done already."
"Are you suggesting," said the Seneschal, "that we just let go of Nigeria? I did not fight for our economic stability to let go of Nigeria." The Government and some supporters cheered, while others remained in their seat twisting around in discomfort. Some were annoyed by the Seneschal's stand.
"If I can address the whole of the Oratory, our Seneschal has held such fickle views on foreign policy," retorted Tribunes Opposition Leader Nolley. "To me, he has shown rude to near arrogant behavior within the area of foreign and even economic policy. Rodrenon, should be a guest in the Northern African countries. We're not conquerors, we were trying to attain economic stability. In fact, Seneschal Rydaye, I think judging on your policy in Nigeria, you're becoming as stubborn as your predecessor."
The entire room went silent. It was a heavy blow to the Seneschal and the whole room knew it. Nobody discusses the previous Seneschal. Even the Government began to grow uneasy.
"I am not here to discuss the ideologies and practices of Seneschal Lenhidam, I am here to discuss the current issue that we are in Nigeria, because it was necessary to gain economic stability through their oil, and now that we have the Equalsun Empire's oil partnership-."
"That's right!" Nolley interrupted the Seneschal and before the Seneschal could protest he stated, "we don't need Nigeria! The Equalsun Empire is giving us enough oil to sustain our economy. Any motion of sustaining Nigerian control is purely out of imperialistic attitude!"
The Seneschal winced at the trap he had made himself. However, he wasn't going down that easily. "May I remind you, Nolley, that your own daughter fought in the Nigerian War and kept her squadron alive and sacrificed herself as they took down in the Abuja subway. She sacrificed herself for the Rodredt Cause in Nigeria."
"Don't you dare, Sir Liamith Rydaye," the Tribunes Opposition Leader fumed. "My daughter has nothing to do with this-."
"Fine, your daughter has nothing to do with this, but the parents of the dead warriors, of the soldiers that took down Nigeria had fought well. They didn't die to one day see their footprints of bravery and heartache go back to Nigerian hands!"
The room went quiet. After a few minutes, the Consul of Prelates, Lizab Mylne, got up and spoke. "If there are no motions to be made by this joint session, then by the Federation, the joint session will be adjourned." Nobody made a word, nobody made a sound except for Nolley who was breathing hard enough for people to start staring.

3:08 pm, The Cabinet Chamber, the Federation Building - Ellethrond, Rodrenon

"Well that went well," said the Government Secretary. Rydaye just stared at his water bottle before he looked up. He stretched and his cabinet were taking small glances. The uneasiness of Oratory seemed to have spilled into the meeting of the cabinet.
"It seems to be the first thing on our agenda is the news from Ambassador Kaleyn Janset, our ambassador to the SFE," said the Government Secretary. "She has basically stated that Rodrenon is wanted to join the cause of the Flaming Siberian Eskimos. The Flaming Almighty had made it clear that he wanted our involvement. To SFE, Shaler's movements have grown to what Janset describes as being with 'hegemonic tendency'. If I may add to her, I would feel Shaler's policies have verged to near imperialism." The room grew quiet very quickly, before the Government Secretary made a save and stated, "There has been no talks from what we can hear from Shaler from Ambassador Ramlew."
"Are we able to provide a level of support and still maintain neutrality," asked the Seneschal.
"No, no, I'd believe it's not possible. The current atmosphere in South America is toxic," said Defense Steward Youncer.
"Seneschal, I'd believe that before we take any action, we try to urge contact with Shaler. They have not responded and I would advise us to urge them to respond to us. At the moment, all we know is that they're making moves on something and all we can confirm is that they they were trying to contact the Equalsun Empire. In fact, Ambassador Marget Jamer, our ambassador to the Equalsuns, have also confirmed that the Equalsuns were contacted by SFE, as well," said Foreign Steward Braymoor.
"Is this your advice, to urge contact with Shaler before we make a move?"
"If I could give a word on the subject, I would agree on this matter," said Economic Affairs Steward Chaiford. "I believe any move at the moment will be a costly one, especially with the backdrop of Nigeria and Ismeil."
"Well then fine, Braymoor, I would like you to go and contact Ambassador Ramlew and tell him to try for another meeting with the Shaler Government."
"Now on Nigeria, yes I'm talking about it. I will go to Ismeil and discuss the matters of Nigeria. Now, Youncer, I would like you to contact Cardinal-of-Arms Wyardaye, we have a new target. Also, I have a feeling I'm going to be contacting many foreign powers in the following days."

If there is any argument short of military conflict you can deliver, then we'll reconsider our current occupation in Nigeria. I'd urge these meetings to be a sign that my Government is not completely unwilling to cooperate with Ismeil.

First is first, in the next few days, I expect a Rodredt naval force to arrive in Panama and so I request that that naval force be allowed to go through the Panama. I hope it's not too much of a bother. I will disclose that our target is Hawaii. It seemed wise enough to gain a naval presence in the Pacific. In this way, our countries will seem closer as we'd might have a territory.

The second matter is I would like to request free trade between our countries. I would also like to request an open border policy. I believe that this would strengthen our countries and make it easier for our economies to grow with each other. It is also a sign of thanks in your assistance with the oil, which made it possible to secure Nigeria. Also, in this way, if Hawaii does become ours, your nation would be free to use the ports. In fact, the Equalsun Empire may have access to the Overseas Territories that Rodrenon possesses, which would make it cheaper to trade in the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic, for we hold the Rodredt Indian Ocean Territory (ooc: rl British Indian Ocean Territory) as well as numerous islands up and down the Atlantic.

The third matter is of the South American politics. I would like to hear what your stance on the whole South American political scene as I now trust your judgment and your country is much more experienced in the area. I hope it's understandable that I can trust the nations participating only up to a certain extent.

The fourth matter is the Nigeria and Ismeil. Since I can trust you, I will disclose that Ismeil wants my nation to leave Nigeria. I have no desire for armed conflict between Ismeil and Rodrenon, but I cannot just let go of Nigeria. My Government has given me the advice to just work with Ismeil to find a common goal. Honestly, I don't see much. Since there are few world leaders I can trust as much as you, I will ask as a friend, how do you suppose I handle Nigeria? Granted, if there ever was such a thing as casual politics, this fourth matter would be it.

Hernandez looked out at the training grounds from the balcony of the SFE Intelligence Center. The powerful program that he was now the head of had been made in the heat of the moment once the first Shalian spy had been identified. It had started as counter-intel, learning the ways of the Shalian spies, and eventually others around the globe. Intense analysis of global databanks had gone into developing what was now one of the most efficient programs for capturing, interrogating, and disposing of a covert enemy presence within a country. The combination of intense research and having complete control of the citizens daily lives had led to an extreme drop in stolen intel, no matter how small. Recently they had also started their own spy program. Using the same techniques as before, they had studied the Shalian counter-intel program and trained them for it. That wasn't all they trained for though. These agents had to be as good as possible, though, and so they had been trained to survive in the most hostile conditions imaginable for an agent. These men had trained for so long that they could evade detection twice as long a Shalian spy within the brutal conditions of even their own country, using knowledge that they were forced to learn themselves. After they had shown proficiency in learning from experience, a coach from the counter-intel program taught them all they had learned in effective counter-intel strategies. The agents studied vigorously for every scenario they might face in Shaler or any other county. Finally, some of them were ready. Hernandez walked to a lecture room within the facility as the selected agents finished the day's field exercises. They had recently returned from a final test of sorts, where they were forced to stay undetected or captured for as long as possible in a capital city environment. The exercise was meant to simulate their everyday life in the field, and it included forcing them to go to jobs, buy food, and be questioned on a random basis as to what they had been doing lately. It had gone on for an astounding 18 months before the 25 remaining agents had to be pulled out of it. The five that had been discovered before then would not continue on to the mission, the others would. As the 25 agents filed into the room, Hernandez scanned them over. None of them showed signs of fatigue or other weakness, none of them showed surprise at being seated in front of the head of SFE intelligence.
"Good afternoon agents," started Hernandez as he continued to scan the room. When no one answered he continued, "You have been training for many years. All of you recently succeeded in staying undetected in high profile positions withing a highly regulated zone for a year and a half. You will be using this in your first mission." Hernandez paused to see if any of them reacted. None did. "You will be going into the nation of Shaler to our south. You will be going there to secure intel on anything they are up to, and anything military they may be engaged in. All of you will be required to have cyanide pills on you at all times in case of capture. No one is to be kept alive by the Shalian government, no one is to be interrogate. In the case that you are captured somehow, you have been trained on how to resist any interrogation technique, no matter how brutal. Each of you will be placed in his own spot within the country and its society. Some will be spying on military, some on the government, and some may just have to listen to street and criminal chatter for whatever may come up. You are not to attempt contact with us unless you have found something of value, we have our own means of checking up on you. You will not change position until it has been approved by us, or you are in danger of capture. If you are detected but not captured, get an identity change within the country. None of you will come back unless ordered. Your mentors will fill you in on your specific mission, dismissed."
As the last agent filed out of the room, Hernandez smiled. Not one of them had seemed phased by this mission. They had learned well on keeping panic held down, it would suit them well in the months and years to come.
"Good luck Shaler," he muttered to himself, "you have your work cut out for you."

First is first, in the next few days, I expect a Rodredt naval force to arrive in Panama and so I request that that naval force be allowed to go through the Panama. I hope it's not too much of a bother. I will disclose that our target is Hawaii. It seemed wise enough to gain a naval presence in the Pacific. In this way, our countries will seem closer as we'd might have a territory.

The second matter is I would like to request free trade between our countries. I would also like to request an open border policy. I believe that this would strengthen our countries and make it easier for our economies to grow with each other. It is also a sign of thanks in your assistance with the oil, which made it possible to secure Nigeria. Also, in this way, if Hawaii does become ours, your nation would be free to use the ports. In fact, the Equalsun Empire may have access to the Overseas Territories that Rodrenon possesses, which would make it cheaper to trade in the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic, for we hold the Rodredt Indian Ocean Territory (ooc: rl British Indian Ocean Territory) as well as numerous islands up and down the Atlantic.

The third matter is of the South American politics. I would like to hear what your stance on the whole South American political scene as I now trust your judgment and your country is much more experienced in the area. I hope it's understandable that I can trust the nations participating only up to a certain extent.

The fourth matter is the Nigeria and Ismeil. Since I can trust you, I will disclose that Ismeil wants my nation to leave Nigeria. I have no desire for armed conflict between Ismeil and Rodrenon, but I cannot just let go of Nigeria. My Government has given me the advice to just work with Ismeil to find a common goal. Honestly, I don't see much. Since there are few world leaders I can trust as much as you, I will ask as a friend, how do you suppose I handle Nigeria? Granted, if there ever was such a thing as casual politics, this fourth matter would be it.

Xi sat at his desk, literally banging his head against his desk. This was just ridiculous. And he was sick of it. He was starting to draft an angry reply siding with Shaler to take down the SFE, but then Feng ran in. "Sir, the Great Nova Roma has fallen!" He exclaimed, skidding to a halt by the desk. Surging to his feet, Xi raced for the Military Command Center, Feng in tow. Arriving within 2 minutes, he found his general staff had also hurriedly gathered, smoothing out uniforms that had obviously been thrown on. However, as of now Xi didn't care. Examining the digital map before him, he began giving orders.

"Shui, move your carrier groups to Indonesia right immediately. Feng, patrol the skies and drop propaganda leaflets saying that we're restoring order to a nation in disarray. Zhou, move into Thailand and Malaysia immediately and get troops en route to Indonesia, we're taking the islands. Use 10 armies to secure them. Go!" The great generals set of at a run, grabbing their subordinates and phones as they ordered an offensive.

Meanwhile, Xi drafted replies for the numerous nations requesting his assistance. First, his good friend Rodrenon deserved a reply:

On your first request, feel free to pass through Panama! I'll also provide an escort of 10 Panama Coastal Defence to escort and observe your conquest, and assure any of my vessels that you are all friendly. In regards to the free trade agreement, I accept wholeheartedly! That can only strengthen both our great nations, and deepen our friendship.

Now, as for South America and Africa... I suggest that you do not involve yourself militarily, and only diplomatically. That is the stance I'm going to take as well.

After writing that sentence, Xi deleted the previous draft before continuing

As with Ismeli, it's not reasonable of him to simply demand you give up hard-won territory to him. Take a stance of passive opposition, and if he threatens force I will come to your aid. You have my permission to tell him this.

The conquest to revive and recreate the Roman Empire has begun by order of the Emperor himself, King Julien Brovar VI. The King is now issuing a report telling the worlds countries to his plans. King Julien plans to take: Spain, France, Israel, Libya, Egypt, Greece, and Turkey.

Looking down at a map, the Flaming Almighty frowned one of his advisers explained the obvious situation to him.
"We simply have no more room to expand," explained the adviser, "I'm sorry, but there's nothing we can do."
"What about Cuba?" asked the Almighty, "Norga doesn't own it and it's not that far away."
"But what if Norga complains? This could re-spark old tensions," said the adviser.
"No matter, they won't care about it," he replied.
"But how can you know? We have no spies in the area, there has been no-" started the adviser.
"They won't care," said the Almighty as he slammed his fist onto the table, "Now get Cortez on it before I have the janitors clean this room again, and they won't be happy about it. I hear brain matter is very hard to get out of carpet."
The adviser blanched at the threat and nervously scurried out of the room to radio Cortez with the orders. The Flaming Almighty sat back at his desk as he took out a new cigar. Soon he wouldn't need to import the damn things from the Caribbean, and he wouldn't have to worry about a split Venezuela causing tensions. Soon, soon.

The Flaming Almighty looked down at the map before him as he discussed with Cortez. Without their leaders and with the loss of Columbia, the Marijuana Growth was starting to crumble. They had already decided that taking the route through Panama would be too slow, so they sent multiple detachments of transport and military craft over the ocean towards Central America. Air transport vehicles would also send in troops to clear a landing spot for the fleet. Anarchy was already consuming the stoned nation, and now the fleet would move in to wipe out the greatly weakened and divided defenders. They would restore order and start working on new factories and vehicles for their forces. It wouldn't take long for it to all crumble. With these plans made, the Flaming Almighty looked up at Cortez.
"There is still one matter to attend to," said Cortez, "Our spec. ops team failed to take out the Marijuana Growth leaders. Their parachutes failed to deploy properly during the HALO drop and the all died."
"A shame," replied the Almighty, "I will go in myself then."
"What? You can't go in, you're our leader!" cried out Cortez in protest.
"I have to, they must die by my hand," said the Almighty. With that he left Cortez sputtering to his personal transport vehicle.

Jamaica, a few hours later:

The Flaming Almighty's vehicle landed at the runway. Everything was tense, as the Norgan invasion of the island was about to begin. The Jamaicans wouldn't last long, and their furious prep had led them to ignore the small plane when it entered a secluded airfield on the edge of the island. The Almighty boarded a jeep that was waiting for him along with a small team of six spec ops men. The Marijuana Growth leaders were being hidden in a geothermal plant. As they rode up to it, they found the remains of countless rioters. Their agents had done well with weakening the defenses. The jeep smashed through the makeshift gate that had be erected at the front of the facility, machine guns firing at everyone in sight. The guards, weakened by the need for more soldiers to prep for the invasion, were caught off guard by this and fell quickly. As they moved into the facility they met minimal resistance, and eventually found a conference room that contained the leaders. The Flaming Almighty came in with his desert eagle drawn.
"What are you doing here?" yelled one of the startled and bonged leaders.
"To finish what I started," replied the Almighty.
With that he quickly fired a shot into each leaders head with ease, his precision astounding. The Marijuana Growth leaders were now dead, and no one would be able to contest his right to the land. Not after what happened at the peace talks.
