Ambassador Guiomar Jasso idly spun the pen in her hand. She had been waiting now in the meeting room for almost two hours and all the doughnuts that had once adorned the center of the hard oak table had been devoured long ago. As a result, Guiomar was feeling sick. The room itself was nothing impressive. It had a couple pictures of "The Flaming Almighty" on the wall across from her, and behind her the wall was completely blank. In the corner to her direct left sat a single sad looking plant, and to her right the wall was made of glass, giving a beautiful view of the Rio Orinoco, and the war torn buildings that surrounded it.

Her plane had arrived the night before, and Ambassador Jasso was given a relatively warm welcome by a chauffeur waiting with a placard bearing her name. The drive to her hotel was uneventful, largely due to the fact that most of the streets were empty. "That's weird," though Jasso, "it's only 9 PM."

The hotel front desk staff also somewhat kind, in the way that they didn't try to kill her. Not that it would matter, Jasso had been preparing for months for this mission and was a deadeye with her Glock 42. After the "warm" welcome, Jasso was escorted to her room by two men, a concierge who could barely contend with her treaty-laden luggage, and a burly SFEA soldier, decked out in SWAT armor and carrying a M4A1. All three, the diplomat, the soldier, and the civilian were dead silent the entire elevator ride to her room. After seeing her to her room, the concierge wished her a good night and headed back to the elevator. The soldier remained next to her room, rifle at the ready.

The room was nothing to scoff at, but at the same time wasn't all that nice. Fighting must've gone on recently as there were several bullet holes in one wall, letting in a slight breeze. The beds were okay and the bathroom was clean. Even though it was only 10 PM, Jasso decided to call it a night.

Back in the meeting room, Jasso jolted back awake. Through cloudy vision she deciphered that it was 1 PM. "I was only asleep for an hour?" she thought. At least the diplomatic meeting, scheduled for 1:30, would be starting soon.

El Presidente Jorge was just now waking up, still in his striped PJs and carrying his teddy bear, he stumbled his way to his computer. Rubbing his eyes a bit, Jorge read through the message. After taking a second to wake up, Jorge wrote his response.

Small time aspiring Eskimoian diplomat Pizarro Stepped into the town hall for the peace negotiations. He had been debriefed on the terms of the peace with Norga, and on demands required to keep peace with the Marijuana Growth. Sadly the Flaming Almighty had failed to inform him of the impending assassination mission that would be happening. If all went well, Pizarro wouldn't come out alive. Pizarro entered the negotiations without bodyguards, trusting that Norga would respect this temporary neutral zone and that Shaler would bring ample protection. As he came to the meeting table, the other representatives stared at him. Pizarro had decided to be fashionably late and was starting to regret it. When he sat down, one of the Shaler diplomats started the meeting.
"It appears that all representatives are here," he started,"let the negotiations begin."
With that, Norga's diplomat and Pizarro debated the new border between the two new nations. When they finally finished with that they moved on to trade and defense agreements to strengthen the countries bonds, and prevent further bloodshed. They decided that a long term trade agreement would suit both nations for rebuilding and that mutual defense would be perfect considering the new split size of Venezuela. The negotiations were surprisingly calm and smooth, not requiring much input from the R.O.I. or Shaler. As the group thought the negotiations were going to be wrapped up, and peace restored, Pizzaro broke in with a final thought.
"While the SFE has made peace with Norga, we still have yet to deal with the problem of the Marijuana Growth," he said, "The Flaming Almighty has informed me that he wishes for a simple transaction of land to repay for the lives lost, he would like the lands of Columbia."

A few hours ago in the jungle around Ciudad Bolivar.

"We have a few hours, so lets go over this one more time," said the commanding officer for the operation, "The town hall has 3 entrances; the main door, the kitchen door in the back, and a fire escape on the north-east side. After the meeting starts we're going to go in through the kitchen and fire entrances and take out the staff members and guards that are outside the meeting room. The doors to there will be closed, and no one is allowed in or out after negotiations start. Once that's taken care of, set trip mines outside of the fire and kitchen doors along with three guys on each with heavy FM SCAR's locked an loaded along with some frags. Kill anyone that gets past the trip mines." He paused for a moment, then continued. "The other four of us will go into the meeting room from the main entrance, we'll set C4 before we storm the negotiation room. We'll storm in, throwing some pot grenades to subdue and disorient them. They are completely legitimate and made by the Marijuana Growth, along with the rest of our weapons. We'll then open fire and throw some frags as well, making sure that Pizarro and the Norgan diplomat dead for sure before taking out guards and a few other diplomats. Remember, before we storm the negotiations, silence is key. Absolutely no non-silenced weapons before then. Everyone clear?"
"Yes sir!" replied the spec ops team.
"Also, a few suicides would be nice as well, give it that zealous stoner feel. Plus there's less bodies to examine."

Back in the negotiations.

"The Flaming Almighty has informed me that he wishes for a simple transaction of land to repay for the lives lost, he would like the lands of Columbia." As these words left Pizarro's mouth, the doors of the meeting room burst down. A disguised SFE soldier yells, "Death to the Venezuelans!" as he lobs a pot grenade into the room. The plan had gone perfectly up to this point, no one had been able to warn the diplomats of what was on the way. Pot fumes clouded the room as the grenades went off, disorienting the guards in the room. The two frags went off next, killing several guards instantly along with the unfortunate Pizarro. Bullets streamed into the room from the main entrance as the assault team mowed down the Norgan diplomat and several more guards. The defending military squad and Shaler body guards finally get their act together, and start returning fire. An unfortunately cocky SFE soldier is killed with the first volley of return fire. Another chooses to end his own life, unpinning two frags and running into the fray, killing more guards and a Shaler diplomat. Half of the remaining guards stay to hold the remaining SFE soldiers off as the R.O.I. diplomats, and the remaining one from Shaler take a fourth of the remaining guards each, and split up toward different entrances. A few more guards are dispatched defending the R.O.I. diplomats at the kitchen entrance by the trip mine, and one of the more eager diplomats is taken out by the ensuing machine gun fire. After much fighting, the remaining R.O.I. diplomat is rushed out after superior numbers and a well placed frag take out the men at that entrance. The remaining Shaler diplomat meets similar resistance and is badly wounded by shrapnel from a frag, but makes it out alive for the time being. The remaining guards in the meeting room manage to kill another SFE soldier as the last one starts to retreat. As they run in pursuit, they come to the main entrance as he stumbles past the C4, detonating it and collapsing the town hall lobby. In total all SFE assassins were killed and appeared to be from the Marijuana Growth, one diplomat from the R.O.I. survived with minor injuries, one surviving Shaler diplomat survived but has possibly fatal injuries, and only 13 guards survived.

OOC: I would like to say that for the guards surviving number I accounted for guards killed outside the meeting room with silenced weapons. Also my forces only fought at well defended choke points that had explosives on them.

He smiled, then prepped helicopter flight to the scene of his great accomplishment. It was just as bloody and ruthless as he had imagined, perfect for his needs. He stayed in the local hotel, and set up shop to send a condolence letter to the families of all lives lost after attending multiple ceremonies and expressing his extreme sorrow to the R.O.I., Shaler, and Norga. He vowed to take immediate action against whoever was found responsible for these crimes, and set up an "investigation" to find out the perpetrators. He now looked at the message Shaler had sent, and frowned. While he was glad that the Marijuana Growth had been blamed, he definitely wanted a cut of the land.

3. Shaler has been orchestrating a program to get the small amount of Shalian civilians out of the Free-Lands (Should be complete by 23:00; UTC-6:00 central American time)
4. Shaler is commandeering the farming equipment that the settlers were bringing into the country.

Ryan Kelly was beginning to feel flustered. It was the day before the first of the peace talks and he was not on top of things like he usually was. His head was burning up and his sinus' felt like they were about to explode. Damn foreign countries with their new sicknesses. His co-workers, whom he considered some of his closest friends, were trying to pick up the slack but the entire team was feeling quite ill. They decided between themselves that they would only interfere when totally necessary during the peacekeeping operations tomorrow.

The next day started off early. The team went down and had a long breakfast going over the final details of what they would be focusing on in the debates. The sickness had gotten slightly better but everyone was still feeling under the weather... Little did they know they'd be feeling a lot worse in only a few short hours.

The first few hours of peace talks seemed to down without a hitch. Agreements were being made on both sides and real progress was being taking place, that was of course, until the SFE diplomat Pizarro asked about a land transaction between them and Marijuana Growth. Ryan was preparing to step in when the doors to the conference room crashed open and all hell broke loose.

Several smoke grenades, with a few side effects, filled the room but inhaling the fumes seemed to decrease the sickness Ryan was feeling. Bullets began to fly as soldiers in Marijuana Growth uniforms shot down several people right in front of him, including one of his most trusted partners, Ambassador Truman Henderson. Ryan acted quickly and gathered up 4 of the security staff and yelled to his other peers to try to escape. Looking back as he ran out the door he saw all of them, and the rest of the security squad, shot dead. Explosions continued in the background as their heavily armored car drove quickly away from the now burning city... Ryan didn't know exactly what to do. He was dumbstruck... What he'd seen... Blood so much blood... Soldiers... That strange smoke... He had smelled the fumes only once before. It was burning marijuana. That coupled with the uniforms pointed to one thing and one thing only. Marijuana Growth.

It made sense to Ryan, they wouldn't have wanted the two fighting Venezuelan sides to unify as they would represent a real threat. Plus, the recent attacks on SFE by suspected Marijuana Growth soldiers only confirmed his suspicions. He had to contact the President. There was something in the air, and this time it wasn't pot. It was war.

Xi turned off the TV; that was the fifth time this month they were talking about those thrice-darned fairy circles. He needed to supplant the editor of that station. But for now, South America required his attention; their trade partner Shaler, ally Voltris, and militant barbecued snowmen had all been affected. And, after all... it was never a bad time for a land grab in any corner of the world, if it presented itself. Closing the economic tabs, which had been monitoring the growing numbers of planes, tanks, and oil platforms, Xi opened his E-mail (Emperor mail) account and started on the needed Causus Bellis.

The first and second line of tanks were also rolling off the factory floors and President Anit was happy. Damion White drummed his fingers on his desk as he read over the recent reports from the Indian border, it seemed as if the Indians were heeding by the Tarazedian request and were demilitarizing the border - pulling away the bulk of their army but leaving a force to monitor the border. It was a respectable move, that much was clear.

The ball was now in Tarazed's side of the net, Damion thought over his actions...the embargoes had resulted in little-to-no effect as much of Tarazed's trading was focused westwards in Europe and various companies were beginning to open up trading networks in Ismeil. However, retaliating to the embargoes against Canadian Hunsha with further sanctions against India would only instigate a Cold War between Tarazed and its allies and India and its allies - a Cold War that Tarazed certainly did not want nor need.

After a long session of brainstorming, Damion came to the conclusion that an olive branch was required to de-escalate the crisis. He drafted up and sent an email to President Abhay Anit of the Republic of India soon after.
