This day we begin our crusade. The demons of Aenoya shall feel our wrath. We work as one empire on a crusade against pure evil.

As we speak the NRR 1st Army, 3rd Marine Corps, and the 5th Legion of Jarl Ballin' are assembling an air base a mere 150 Dusseks away from Aenoya City. The base will be AA equipped and allow the NRR Air Force to refuel for strikes against the enemy. The base will also serve as a fallback position for the crusaders.

The remaining forces push on towards Aenoya City with courage in their hearts and determination in their souls. May God grant them swift victory!

A Statement to the Empire

Postby Ungodly Darkness » Thu Sep 25, 2014 9:40 am

The Justinian Empire has been warned. Any military actions that occur in Darkesian territory will be considered an act of war. Have your conflict with your own enemies, and leave those who wish remain out of it, out of it. Respect our neutrality and we shall respect your right to wage war with the Aenoyans. But it is inevitable that neighboring nations shall be affected, and so we are on standby. If forces from either the Justinian or the Aenoyan Empire enter our lands with violent intent, we shall treat it as an invasion and show no mercy. May the Deeps protect you all.

Balgruuf sits in a chair in an empty room, with a drink hanging from his hand near the floor. Lifting it up he starts to take a drink from it, someone knocks on the door.

Balgruuf: Enter!

General Sertorius: Good evening sir, we just got a report that the crusaders have completed the airbase.

Balgruuf: Good, how soon can the NRR situate their air presence there?

General Sertorius: They already have it underway. The Legions you sent and the NRR have reached the city. They're preparing to siege the city.

Balgruuf: Tell them to execute their operation as soon as they're ready. Once the city is take burn down any false religious churches and assist our Emperor in constructing his own.

The First Wave of the Attack on Aenoya city has begun!
A coordinated air strike by the valiant Robert L'Aigle has begun on Aenoya city. The NRR planes have been flying "low and slow" but the Aenoyan planes have not scrambled yet. The feeling within the NRR cockpits are tense, the men remain ready to abandon the mission and escape at any moment. Will the enemy engage them? So far no resistance. They carpet bomb the city with the most dangerous weapon. The Bible.

Initial damage assessment reports reflect that all hits were good on their targets. While most civilians stayed in their homes, fearing an imminent attack, some looked at the bibles curiously before dropping them back on the ground. The streets of the city are littered with bibles. Soon the populace will read God's truth and surrender to the Empire. Or that's the plan at least.

There was but one complication. The thousands of KHV (King Henri Version) bibles that were dropped were strapped together and designed to break apart in mid-air and deploy their own little parachutes. One palate of bibles did not seperate however, and nearly crushed a group of Aenoyan citizens that were watching the air raid from an apartment roof. Talk about bible beaters.

From a video posted on YouTube:

Three men are kneeling on a field, with sacks over their heads. Another man, in a golden robe, walks in front of the camera, and speaks. "This is a message to the heathens of Aenoya." He quickly pulls a pistol from the folds of his robe and shoots the hostage on the left. "This is a message to the heretics of New Aberdeen." The one on the right falls. "And this is a message to the fools of Darkesia, most unfaithful of them all." He shoots the middle man, the last one. Putting the gun away, the robed man turns back to the camera. "Now I address those who still remain true to the one supreme Lord. Rise up. Rise up in the name of your Saviour, and overthrow these heathen overlords. Help us reclaim God's world, and you shall be rewarded in this world and the next. Strike down the occupiers of your beloved nations, for they are Satan's puppets! Exterminate the nonbelievers, for it is they above all who sin the most! Fight, brothers, in the name the Lord!" The video ends.

Today it has begun.

A coalition of forces from the Justinian Empire including the NRR 3rd Army and 3rd Marine Corps as well as the Jarl's 1st, 2nd, and 5th Legions marched into Aenoya City with significant NRR air cover thanks to the Imperial airbase north of the city.

Local Aenoyans took to the streets to defend their homes. Aenoyan laws forbid widespread firearm ownership, so the loyal citizens were armed with kitchen tools and farm equipment. The Imperial forces presented the civilian populace with two options: convert to Catholicism or die. Many chose to convert, many fled the city, and a marginal few were killed by the Empire.

That is to say nothing of the Aenoyan military which, despite no orders from their higher ups, were able to stage a respectable defense. Squad sized units were cut off in the city and a few guerrilla style attacks were successful in killing a few Imperials. However the sheer numbers and organization of the Imperial forces proved too much for the Aenoyan soldiers and they too failed to protect their city. They were presented with the same choice of conversion. All but a select few chose to honor their country in death rather than betray it in life.

The flag of the Empire now flys over Aenoya City. The Imperial forces are now focusing on searching the city for any remaining threats and building up defensive positions in the city. The NRR 1st Fleet is now being mobilized to protect the city. Travelling north through the Jarl's waters to meet their allies in Aenoya City.

"This is a load of bollocks, a blatant lie of Catholic slander! PROPOGANDA!!!!"

Grand Duke Arthur Wellesley of Trinity, a master strategist and general-at-arms of the Guard said, throwing his hands up in the air.

"An INVASION!?! They could not of slipped past us that easily, we had an entire Navy guarding our shores!"

He glanced at last week's news paper, looking at the bottom of the front page which said:

Aenoya wrote:In other news, in light of a plane crashing off the Western Coast of Aenoya, the Sixth, Seventh, and Twelfth fleet was mobilized to assist in the recovery which spans across the entire western side of the island.

"Do you REALLY think we care about the welfare if our people were to crash in a plane? Would we really send three fleets of ships to recover? Bollocks no, mate."

He later figured that the Justinian Empire had sent in multiple undercover missionaries and several special forces units to the city, and were preparing for an actual invasion that involves both the nautical and ground forces. He sent three spy planes over the staging ground and confirmed what he thought.

[OOC] you've gotta read everything. You got me with that during that one invasion before the big war in Peschici, remember? ricky sending his forces back and me forgetting about it leading to the whole "teleporting soldiers" debate

After a bloody espionage and assassination spree between the nations of Ungodly Darkness and The SDJB the leaders of Ungodly Darkness have ended up slaughtered across the nation. Jarl Balgruuf the Swag presides in the emergency room in critical condition from an assassination attempt. The Government of SDJB has offered an olive branch to show good faith, and now works with Ungodly Darkness to fortify a Union between the two nations.

General Scipio converses with representatives of Ungodly Darkness, by his side General Julius is beside him.

Rep: We understand the need to end this ridiculous bloodshed between our peoples, but we do not understand the need for our homeland to be a lesser member of a Union!

General Scipio: Please, you must understand that the lives of tens of millions rely on our cooperation with each other. If we do not unify our nations as a whole now outright war is inevitable. We need to relieve the tension between our peoples by working as one.

Rep: But why must we be a lesser partner? Why is such a thing necessary?!

General Scipio: After th-

General Julius- You lost the filthy little spy war our two nations had, your government is in ruins. And while your military stays strong like ours, do you really think you can take a full-out war with The SDJB? Because that's what the people will demand when they find out their leader is in critical care, and it sure as hell will be what the Jarl wants when he regains his strength. The only way to prevent the slaughter of both sides is to unite together.

Rep: You threaten my nation with war? How dar-

General Julius- I don't threaten, never. Threatening implies it may not happen. That was a promise. Here are the terms for our Union, this is not debatable.

While war is a nasty business the subject of espionage is an even bloodier one. We do not wish to strip you of your freedoms. Let that be known. This document is nonnegotiable in the terms of modification. You will either accept it or have your peoples be damned. Ungodly Darkness will enter into a Union with SDJB as the lesser member. In this Union Ungodly Darkness will not be required to follow SDJB into war, and no one may declare war of Ungodly Darkness without declaring war against SDJB first. Ungodly Darkness will cut it's military size to a reasonable amount, and will hand over all foreign technology that is deemed advanced enough. The voice of Ungodly Darkness will be heard as they can continue to converse with other nations, as long as their conversations don't endanger the Union. Ungodly Darkness will receive it's ability to issue statements to the public and to fellow nations (so long as it doesn't harm the Union), and will be able to continue writing their history ***Factbook***. Ungodly Darkness' government will be under SDJB and will refer to them whenever something of international importance happens. The border will be closed to civilians on both sides, the border will also remain closed for soldiers from the lesser part of the union. Soldiers from SDJB will be garrisoned in Ungodly Darkness and will not intercede in politics unless ordered to. Religion in Ungodly Darkness is now free. The people of Ungodly Darkness are now free to believe in what they wish. However the official religion will be that of God's. Ungodly Darkness will not be required to join the Empire in the Crusade or any other religious war until they become a full member.

Discovery of the year.

Postby Swag Dictatorship of Jarl Ballin » Thu Oct 09, 2014 6:45 am

Jarl Balgruuf lay in bed, every so often coughing. His chest and arms were in pain. The assassin had shot two rounds into his chest, and one on both his arms. The doctors have been pleading for the Jarl to take medication for the pain, but Balgruuf would have nothing to do with it. Pain killers were a sign of weakness to be taken if not needed. And he would NOT should weakness, well, not anymore than is already shown. The Jarl looks up at the arch that leads to the other room and General Julius walks in.

Jarl Balgruuf: Ah! General! So good to see you. Scipio told me that he had created several more legions in my time ill. I'm sure your new job suits goes well?

General Julius: ***Julius looks at his dictator, he knows he must show loyalty, or death comes swiftly. He knows he isn't a god, and damned if he know Balgruuf is a chosen of god. All Julius knows is he wants Balgruuf's title, so that he when he gets it he can rule with a fist of steel.*** Yes my lord, the people of Ungodly Darkness were uneasy at first when we took command of their cities and bases. However they came more at ease with time and now find comfort in seeing our troops working with their officials and soldiers.

Jarl Balgruuf: Very good, now I will infer that since I did not call for you that you came here for a very important reason? After all, you are based a nation away.

General Julius: Yes sir, we were reviewing the messages and intel we took from the governmental buildings in their capitals. Most of the pieces were burned, however we did find this.. ***Julius hands Balgruuf a burnt piece of paper***

We trust that you will use these bombers to good use. I hereby sign the document granting the sale of three F-117 stealth bombers and Four C-17 cargo jets.

Jarl Balgruuf: Is this true?

General Julius: Yes m'lord. We found exactly that as we searched the facilities of the UD.

Jarl Balgruuf: Good, good.. Send them to our capital immediately. Send your two flank legions with them, and make sure our airforce has around the clock guarding for them. I want these planes researched, and make sure before you leave that there aren't any bombs or sabotage.

General Julius: Of course sir. They will be here tomorrow.

I, Emperor Iustus of the Justinian Empire, am calling all nations to join me in my capital of New Paris for a constitutional convention. The reasons for creating a constitution are self evident. We have turmoil and strife throughout the region. Much of it arising out of our state of utter anarchy.

As the leader of the largest community in the region, including NRR, the JB, Ungodly Darkness, Sicildegna, and New Aberdeen (unofficially), along with all followers of my faith within other nations, I am the logical choice for holding such an event. The event shall be held on equal terms and I will cease all hostilities with Aenoya and hold no grudge against them in the convention.

The convention will begin when sufficient world leaders have reached New Paris. All are welcome to weigh their concerns regarding the drafting of the document. To ensure that no hostilities arise out of the convention, I have contracted soldiers from the nation of Caput Ilevakam to maintain security. For this reason I ask that no leaders bring body guards, soldiers, or any other staff with them.

One representative from each nation will suffice, no others will be allowed into the convention and all will be searched for weapons. Others will be asked to wait in La Grande Hotel on the outskirts of the city, this facility will be guarded by my own troops. If you believe this poses too much of a security risk to your leaders, I ask that you still send a representative from your nation to the meeting. Regardless, I personally guarantee your safety at this event.

Please join me for the betterment of the Region.

In response to the Regional Constitution Convention

Postby Swag Dictatorship of Jarl Ballin » Thu Oct 09, 2014 7:09 am

This is a letter sent to Emperor Iustus from Jarl Balgruuf.

It is always good to speak to you my friend, it warms my heart to know that the Regional Constitution Convention is nearby. Unfortunately I do not believe I will be able to attend personally. With my current health problems it is impossible for me to walk little lone stay focus on a single subject for an extended period of time. That is why both myself and General Scipio will be attending. I will remain at the hotel and Scipio will be attending the meetings. If there comes a time when I feel up to participating in a greater way I will trade places with him. I hope that such a thing will be allowed. The political strife in UGD (OOC: New official way to shorten Ungodly Darkness, since UD since barbaric) is slowly coming to a close. The people are soon to vote on their representative for the Union. Once their leader is chosen I will request he or she come to the convention.

On a side note I am happy hostilities are coming to a close with Aenoya. The Third Fleet will be pulling out to transport us to the Convention, and will be docked with your permission at Toulon.

I give you my best,

Balgruuf

The Representative of UGD

Postby Ungodly Darkness » Thu Oct 09, 2014 8:09 am

After days of political votes and processes in the nation of UGD the people have decided on a direct democracy. In the direct democracy they have chosen, they will elect a representative that will deal with all governmental decisions of importance, and will choose officials that will deal with minor issues.

The voting of the people is over, voting for representatives is now labeled as compulsory by both the SDJB government and the UGD government. 50,023,912 people voted on Thomas Belby, a man who strongly opposes the Union. The people of UGD wondered why such a man would be allowed to participate, however it seems SDJB decided to keep its promise to try and not interfere with votes. 100,432,984 people voted for one Peatri Callium. Peatri Callium is a negotiator who is willing to discuss and compromise. The remaining 5,543,104 people voting for various public figures.

The majority rules, Representative Callium has been elected to office.

Terms for representatives have been canceled. Representatives will get progress reports from their people every year. If approval drops below 2/3 a new Representative will be elected.

Emperor Dimitri Fabrizzio, finally arriving to the Convention in New Paris, let out a sigh of great relief. Thinking that these nations, all under one district, have needed a Constitution for quite awhile. Head held high, thinking of the possible things he himself could contribute to the Constitution, he ordered one of his ambassadors traveling along to fetch him a cold glass Coca-Cola and rum.

Nathaniel Canin, still shaken by the tough truth recently revealed to him, arrived in New Paris for the convention, by orders of the Despot Knight. He had no notion of what was worked at the meeting so far, but he trusted himself enough to make the best decisions.

Peatri Callium walked off the transport ship he was on. Jarl Balgruuf had offered to take him to new Paris himself, but in the end Callium decided to take a trip down the river leading to New Paris. On the way they had seen Sarab soldiers facing against their own citizens. The rebellion still runs thick in their country, but it is hoped they can send an envoy for the talks.

Enter Emperor Dradan Wuda, the leader of the recently discovered Dradan Empire, patriarch of the Dradan Dynasty. He wears a cloak draped in silk and is accompanied by his Imperial Palace Guard along with his wife, Empress Jiu. He speaks softly, with a thick Dradan accent. Behind him was High Chief Sigurd Jormungandr of Vestur Osvigoth, a bearded man in his late fifties with a scar across his face, extremely strong and muscular, despite his age.

Wuda: Who have you to invite me to this convention of Kings? This land, "New Paris", is unknown to our people. We have never formally introduced ourselves. I am Emperor Dradan Wuda, protector of the Mandate of Heaven, leader of the great Western nation, and formal dignitary of the Vestur Daoyu, the great alliance between Vestur Osvigoth and Dradan. We have been called here to start these "constitutional conventions." Your people are savages and we do not come here peacefully, if it was not for the intent of freedom of the world, and the great beyond would our representation be present.

I King Prospero Salandi am going to New Paris for the constitutional convention. It is high time that my nation takes an active part in the goings on of our region. We are not simply a satellite state of the NRR! (OOC lol) We have our own goals and aspirations as well. Sicildegna is not simply a holy land of Catholicism. We are a thriving nation and are working to better ourselves and our community.

Domestically I would also like to announce that Sicildegna shall be undergoing a few changes to better ally ourselves with the modern world. I am beginning a Frenchifycation of life in Sicildegna to work better with our partners in the empire. That way we will begin to create our own stake in the world. We will continue to host the holy sites of the Lord, but we'll make a little money on the side too.

High Chief Sigurd Jormungandr steps forward. His demeanor is cold and callous. He smirks.

"You've built an empire beyond imagination. The pinnacle of human achievement and the envy of the world."

He pauses to approach the table in front of him and rests his hands on it.

"Did you think it could last?"

He shakes his head and laughs. His hands push him back to an upright position

"The city of light. A symbol of power, culture and learning. Now an old wolf, wounded by jackals and circled by vultures. Worried to death by a thousand, tiny, vicious mouths, brought lo by your own armies. These are the death throws of Justinium and the eastern world."

Sigurd closes the flame of a candle sitting on the table in his fist.

"The light of civilization dims."

Sigurd The Scourge takes a long breath.

"You have not the time to hide your women and your children. For even at the moment of your defeat, you will take no comfort in oblivion.

He stares for a moment and studies the world leaders now gathered about him, their mouths now agape. He says quietly and calmly and rests back against the table.

"For I am coming for you."

The High chief suddenly stands upright and begins shouting.

"I ride with a million warriors! I bring the end of days! I am the scourge of the gods!

Sigurd Slams his fist into the table. He looks down now breathing heavily and says:

"And I will watch your world burn."

Emperor Wudi stepped up from his chair, unstrapped his cloak, and began to speak

Before my grandfather's grandfather was born, this was our land. These are our good places; our gods live here, in the trees and the rivers. They watch over us. We are happy: we hunt, we love, we have families, homes, a good life.

Wudi paces back and forth, looking angry, the faces of the world staring curiously into his cold, crimson eyes. Then, in a fit of rage and anger he shouts

But sometimes we must fight!

He looks down, then back at the crowd. Slowly, as if it pained him to do so, he took off his gem studded helmet to reveal a burned, bald head.

The Justinians disturb the gods; they burn the forests; they take what is ours, wives, children, land! And the Justinians talk of how they will 'help us and protect us'. They put us to sleep with golden promises: when we wake, all that we had is gone-stolen!

He pauses, takes a deep breath and utters an ancient Mandarin curse.

Gah! So we fight to keep what is ours, what must stay ours! There can be no peace, no peace with the world, men of stone, and iron, and lies! There can be only war.

He walks slowly, very slowly back to his seat and sits down, his cold eyes now burning hot.

Roused by the speeches given by his fellow leaders Sultan Bayezid Al-Ghazi stands

"The desert is ours. It is my home. Invaders go there, but they do not leave. They do not understand the desert; they do not understand how it gives life, and how it kills. So they die, and we grow stronger. The dead, now, the dead cannot pass on their new found wisdom...so invaders keep going, keep trying to take our lands and our wealth. But then, wealth flows through my land. And if my people have one thing, it is the love of wealth. It is sweeter than water, it is more powerful than the sword, for any sword can be turned aside with a gold coin. Gold will buy a thousand warriors...and a thousand warriors, why, they are the start of an empire!"
