The Sassinian fleet was losing ground, fast. Many ships were being destroyed by the incoming enemy missiles. The fleet was finally ordered to retreat, and the ships turned back for land. The jets, however, were different. They launched a kamikaze attack on all the enemy ships, flying down with speed.

After the launch of all the rods, each space station self-destructed itself, as there was no use for it anymore.

The general looked into the sea with disgust. The Sassinians were seen as savages.

"If you want to take over a country. Do it in secret. Don't just rush, plan for it and have the miltary and money to support the colonies.."

General Bando walks towards his soldiers. He orders the jets to fly into the Sassinian mainland. During his directions, Sassnian kamikaze jets flew into Caledonian ships. The submarines were informed to engage. Torpedoes were headed to the heart of the remaining Sassinian fleet. Caledonian jets fired heat seeking missiles and shot at Sassinian jets. The ships fired any ammo available.

The New Roman Fleet continued their retreat. The a few of the Kamikazes started to make their way toward the ships, but the anti-aircraft batteries fire upon the planes. Most are shot down, but one hits the NRS Apollo.

Space
The 3 nuclear missiles reached space. They begin to orbit. Command shifts the missiles into an orbit over Sassinia.

Situation Room, Praetorian Guard
"Caesar, the missiles are in an orbit over Sassinia." The Caesar walks over to the console calmly. To the others he looks very cool, calm, and collected. But inside, he is nervous.

"Put it on screen." The Radar picture is projected on the screen. "Once one gets over Terz, detonate the missile. The EMP shall knockout their defences. The second detonate over the landing zone, and detonate the third over the secondary landing zone."

"Yes sir. It shall be done within the hour."

The problem of kamikaze attacks on the Allanean ships would be, of course, the fact that the Sassinians inhabited the 21st century, not the 20th. As soon as the aircraft made it to within 380 kilometrers of Allanean ships, air defense missiles were launched. Over 300 SAMs were put in the air at once.

Meanwhile, Elsewhere

A new force of Allanean bombers had now deployed, and was now approaching the coast of Sassinia. This time Allanea had prepared an immense force, of over 250 B-22 Zeus bombers. They carried a massive payload, of about 12 Hellion missiles in internal revolver launchers, and three more on hardpoints on each wing, for a total of 18 per plane.

As the aircraft came within a relatively short range of 1500 kilometers from the enemy territory, the missiles started detaching from wing pilons and falling out of bomber bellies, their engines turning on and speeding them towards Sassinian ABM launchers, long-range RADAR and military facilities. Within minutes, 4,500 missiles were airborne, another blow against the Sassinians.

International waters

As the royal allied forces take all the chances as the Sassinians' attempt to expand her power is now beginning to be shown as the desperate moves of kamikaze dives were seen unsuccessful. The Panatian (former Pendragonian) anti-aircraft guns and missiles were fired at the incoming jets. Hypersonic cruise missiles were sent to the Sassinian retreating fleet, as the naval formations were surging forward until reaching the range between the Sassinian waterspace and international waters, where the latter is their mainstay.

The naval squadrons stopped after while firing CIWS and RAMs were fired within range until no Sassinian ship is seen in range. Though still detected, the missile salvo is still being continued and cruise missiles of vast speeds and velocity were released. Anti-ballistic missiles used to counter enemy guided missiles were launched as well. As these attacks continued, the computer virus was deemed a successful experiment after the Sassinian command had self-destructed such expensive weaponry into space. Still, the effect of the computer virus is unknown, yet the virus is deemed to haunt the computers in Sassinia for a longer while.

"That was only a few percent of the Panatian fury, the Quirinese might. How much more if Sassinia faces the whole Great Republic? How dare did these vermins challenged us?" one of the crew of a damaged cruiser of the 98th SATF commented on the news that had happened at the Sassinian forces.

The Second empire of heco awakens the war machine and soon they will be prepared for war.

[SHIELD loyal]

The 3 Helicarriers and the 300 jets shoot down the Kamikaze planes before they reach the Helicarriers. They made a direct line, and didn't try to shoot down any SHIELD Jets. The Jets land on the Helicarriers to refuel, and the decision is made not to pursue the Sassinian fleet.

People were rioting across the streets, demanding and end to the war. The Sassinian police suppressed the protests, using violence, killing many protesters, and even innocent bystanders. The Republic entered a state of emergency, and the police patrolled the streets. Now was the chance for the long-gone monarchists to come out of hiding.* They held public speeches against the president, which stirred the population of Sassinia towards them.

Later....

"DOWN WITH THE REPUBLIC!"
"DOWN WITH THE PRESIDENT!", the protesters yelled. This time they were armed with rifles and shotguns, engaging in a battle with the police. Later, the military came in. Civil war had begun on the streets of Terz.

Monarchist rebels battle with Sassinian military in Terz

TERZ, PERSIAN STATE: Today this morning an all out war has begun on the streets of Terz, killing hundreds of protesters and police/military personnel alike. Innocent civilians were also accidentally killed in the fight.

Monarchist rebels attacked the police at 7:00 AM this morning, causing havoc in the city. The monarchists have finally come out of hiding after many years, primarily due to the ongoing war of Sassinia with Allanea and her allies. Not much information is available now, however, and our news station also probably going to be attacked in the next few minutes, so we need to evacuate now. I am Yuri Muzid, and that is all from us.

They did not expect the war to have caused this. Most of the citizens have been closely following the events of the war. Nationalism skyrocketed with this. They realised that victory is within their grasp now that Sassinia had to deal with a civil war along with a total war.

Conference Room, Praetorian Guard Building, 21:00
"...now. I am Yuri Muzid, and that is all from us." the transmission ended. "Gentlemen, this was aired on the 17:00 news. The entire nation knows about by now. We know have a choice. 1: we can go on with Operation Punic and EMP Sassinia, putting them in even more chaos, or 2: we leave them alone and make peace." says the Caesar.

"Caesar, perhaps we should leave Sassinia alone." suggests Consul Agrippa Lucius

"NO, NO, NO!" shouts Praetorian Consul Julius Iucundus. "We need to defeat the Sassinians once and for all! We need to defeat them! We have the advantage, let us exploit it!"

"Perhaps we should just EMP Sassinia and make peace." interrupts Consul Petrus Caecilius. The argument goes on for a few hours. In the end, they decide to go on with Operation Punic.

Space
The nuclear missile orbits over Trez. It nuclear bomb begins the descent, but it detonates in low orbit over Terz. The blast causes an Electromagnetic Pulse to descend upon Terz. 2 other EMPs explode over the primary and secondary landing zones.

Staging Area, Deutsch-Britannia
The order is given to launch the invasion. The massive fleets departs port. The troop transports are surrounded by the Naval Legions, and under the Air Legions. The convoy begins the 3 hour journey to Sassinia.

Terz

After the EMP exploded, the whole city became darkness, but the fighting continued. The military brought in tanks into the city, firing them at the rebels, killing hundreds. However, the rebels had a numerical advantage, as they won the trust of the people, and they together overwhelmed the military and police. After a few hours, the heart of the city was in the control of the monarchists. They launched rockets towards the government building, destroying it. The president was lifted in a helicopter, along with a few other important ministers, and they fled the city. Their destination was Egypt, as there the people were the most supportive of the president.

It was clear that the whole Sassinian mainland is surrounded by enemy presence, especially with the Allied Royal Forces wanting Sassinia burned to the ground. As the monarchist uproar grew more powerful, the Panatian naval units awaiting orders were now given a command as their awaiting pulses wanting to destroy or even shed a blood of their enemy from afar. The satellites provided clear picture of a group of helicopters escaping the capital Terz. Without any remorse, an air unit of 10 F/A-Wolfs multirole stealth fighters were sent to annihilate the said escaping helicopters. It was an overkill, but a salvo of LY4030 Extreme-range SAM were launched to make sure those helicopters won't leave. It was unknown to the Panatian command who were on board of the said helicopters, but it was something important that they are escaping from the city terror.

As the whole formation is only composed of warships and cruisers alike, the Panatians relayed orders to few naval units patrolling at the international waters to set navigation course to Sassinian coastline and conduct an air cavalry assault. Only one amphibious assault ship, IPS Macklemore, responded to the relay. As of this moment, the Macklemore will arrive in Sassinian territorial waters within ETA 0200 hours. On board is an air cavalry battalion of 1,000 men, it is clear enough to make sure Panatia can gain sufficient foothold at the beachhead, thanks to the technological backing, electronic warfare, allied EMP assault, and the internal chaos happening in Sassinia. WIthin days, it is assured, according to the report to the King-Emperor Victor Emmanuel VII, that Sassinia will become a monarchy under Panatia's umbrella.

The warships continued targeting anti-monarchist positions and sent cruise missiles fit to annihilate them. Never had Panatia been to a conflict this long and deep, and this must end successfully and fast.

Sassinain Coast
The taskforce has made it to the Sassinian coastline. The Air forces begin bombing targets such as airfields and railroads. The New Roman forces prepare the troops to make the landing. The Air Cushion Landing Craft are prepared and loaded. The 5th Legion and 3rd Armored Legion shall make up the first wave.

The landing force heads to the beach. The target is near the area of Minab. Paratroopers are dropped behind the beach to capture bridges, and begin to eliminate any resistance.

The invasion has begun.

The 500,000 strong force spotted the enemy forces in the sea, and the Roman paratroopers. They brought out their guns and rocket launchers, shooting at the paratroopers, while the rest began building some defense with rocks lying around in the area. This was a last stand for the Sassinian republic. If this failed, then the republic would fall at the feet of the enemy.

in the courtyard of Fort van Holdeek while Major General Nimenje briefed his troops on the peacekeeping operations in the Vionnan City of Kamley, the populace had rose up in riots against
the local council because of the wars against Belvania and Sassinia.

The paratroopers came under fire by machine guns and rockets. Though many were killed, most survived and began to fire on the Sassinian troops defending their homeland.

The landing craft makes landfall. Troops begin dyeing as the resistance is fierce. The tanks roll off the landing craft, and begin to fire on the entrenched Sassinians.

The carriers also launch their aircraft, Harrier jump jets, and they begin to bomb the Sassinian troops.

As all of this is happening, the second wave of Roman troops begin to make their way on the landing craft.

In the seas

“Freemen officers. Sailors of the Allanean Navy. The Sassinian enemy is shattered. The President of SAssinia has escaped. The banner of a new monarchy now rises over the Sassinian capital city. In other terms, victory is at hand. Now it is time for the Freemen to carry out their strike. Now it is time to attack.” - the Admiral paused. He had been trained in rhetoric from school, as most educated Allaneans. As such, he understood quite well the art of public speaking, of moving a crowd or a military formation with word and intonation. Even now, he saw in the eyes of his officers that they were excited for the fight, ready to finally engage the enemy.

“Men and women of the Free Kingdom Navy! The Sassinians decided that they would attack an innocent country, back a terrorist organization - not even through some ideological opposition to monarchy, but merely out of a desire to subjugate and coerce others. They believed that they will live in a world where their republic dominates the world. They will not live in this world. The Free Kingdom Navy has prohibited it. Arm the strike aircraft. Burn the land. Shatter the sky! For Allanea and for freedom!”

From each of the carriers, armed hastily by the deck crews, a pair of strike aircraft took off, and then another pair. They flew towards the Sassinian shore, and then, within a mere fifty miles from it, released their cargo - each pair of aircraft carried six gliding bombs, which sped down towards the shore from range, and detonated in mid-air over th enemy positions.

But they were no ordinary bombs. They were cluster munitions, showering the enemy in hundreds of bomblets each, each having a combined incendiary and fragmentation effect, and even capable of damaging light armor.

The bombings occurred every hour or so, dozens of bombs being launched from a range of 50 miles off shore each time.

Deutsch-Brittannian Invasion Force, Sassinian Coast

The Deutsch-Brittannians had been quietly building up an powerful invasion force. 300 destroyers, 20 hospital ships, 10 supercarriers and 20 stealth corvettes carrying half a million troops, 50 tanks and 500 aircraft. They were 10 miles away from the Sassinian Coast when the order was given to scramble the aircraft. They took to the skies, and once they were over the coast they began to bomb the Sassinian forces. At the same time, the Black Watch Infiltration teams launched strikes against key Sassinian officials and buildings.

Sassinian coastline

The whole coast was decimated by the oncoming enemy bombs and missiles. Thousands of Sassinian soldiers died, and the rest either fled or were captured by the Roman paratroopers, taken in as PoWs. The tanks, however, resisted, still firing at the enemy. The Sassinian jets engaged in a dogfight with enemy jets, but later almost all of them were destroyed.

Terz

The banner of the kingdom flew in the skies of Terz, and the new monarch, King Ireni Murd entered a remaining government building, which would serve as his temporary palace. Meanwhile, a force of about a 1,000 soldiers with a few tanks and jets was formed, and set off for other cities, to expand the kingdom.

Cairo, Egypt

The president arrived in the capital of Egypt, after a long journey. The people treated him like royalty, giving him whatever he wanted. He entered the government building of the Egyptian state, and declared himself the president of the New Sassinian Republic. He also raised a force of 1,000 brave soldiers, complete with 15 tanks and 5 fighter jets. He sent the force to cities all around Egypt, to form a new republic which would fight against the monarchy.

OOC: Wow, I can see a cycle of what's gonna happen next: All of the Allied Royal Forces will turn to Egypt, smash your forces, leave to Libya, then declare your president the new ruler of the asylum you sought from, and the Allied Royals will come to Libya an defeat you again. Cool story, bro. I really wondered how presidents entering government buildings can make them the new rulers of a foreign country in a realistic manner.

Did Sassina considered surrender for the war he sought against a powerful country packed with strong allies or was just fooling around with the lot of guys taking this RP as realistic and mannered as possible? How can some foreigner who escaped from his homeland be treated with royalty despite being a republican (given he's a president)? How come entering government building can make you a president? Does government staff supposed to be presidents also for entering the buildings they are working in? And how can you even raise an army in a foreign land? Wow, I can see a cycle of what's gonna happen next.

I don't want you to be defeated but you gotta take things realistically. I let the president's escapade went off, while it is virtually impossible for a helicopter's passengers to survive a missile from a stealth fighter chasing them with fast missiles, but letting your president usurp over a country of not his own makes this RP sinking deeper. I'm pretty sure pro-Egyptian loyalists in Cairo and even all of Egypt are protesting, now violently, in the "New Sassinian Republic" that was radically installed without the Egyptians, or even any citizens, knowledge.

Well, ICly you lost the Sassinian republic. OOCly, you lost your small reputation for just trying to save face ICly. Hope you learn soon (though I really thought you're a noble RPer seeing that you started an alternate history RP that still stands till now, but this RP changed how I see you now).

1. History shows us that all sorts of bizarre things happen (including a poet capturing a city, entering a government building and proclaiming it independent, people declaring independence of parts of a democratic country by capturing government buildings, Napoleon declaring himself Emperor, etc. So I don't frankly see criticism of people's realism based on what their societies do as a reasonable criticism.

2. I don't view realism as an important part of being a good roleplayer. It's not even, frankly, top 3 on my list of what makes a good roleplayer.

3. Frankly, we are invading Sassinia's nation. It's long-standing custom that he gets to claim any defenses he likes, and the only choices we get it is either to accept them, or not to invade his nation.

4. I am OP of this thread. I think if we've accepted things as unrealistic as giant orbital bombardment stations with kinetic weapons weighing dozens of tons, people in Sassinia acting a bit unreasonably is nothing. Certainly I would prefer it if the realism discussion ceased.

5. Sassinia has so far been very cooperative and taken large casualties, there is no need to badger him about the realism of his RP.
