1 week ago, Petrokovian hospitals started receiving patients with symptoms of the flu. However, no known treatment of the flu provided any response from patients, and patients have recently started dying. Petrokovian hospitals are known for their unusually super careful procedures and precautions, but even despite that, some medical staff have recently become infected. Top Petrokovian medical researchers have been put to the task of looking into this. Airports and harbors are still open, but the Premier has sent a message out to all countries warning of the illness, seeing as it has no currently known cure. Possible later symptoms are as of yet unknown, despite 5 deaths confirmed to have come of this disease. Petrokovia urges the UMU and Kannap to aid them in research.

The UMU begins to research heavily into a cure. Trying various anti-biotics, medications, herbs, attempting to find a Vaccine.

The UMU believes they may have discovered a temporary treatment to slow evolution and quite possibly combat the Flu. The UMU sends Petrokovia this potential treatment (not a vaccine powerful enough to kill it off though) to try it. (It's up to Petrokovia as to how effective it is)

Petrokovia uses the vaccine, but to no avail. It only seems to slow down the disease for a short period of time, making it dormant for about a week. After this stage, it seems to hit very hard for about 3 days-some patients had horrible cases of dysentery, blood in their puke and diarrhea, and some even report having hallucinations and violent spasms. Seeing the increased number of people getting the disease, Petrokovia shuts down its airports and harbors, except for strict military and medical use. Petrokovia keeps trying to refine the medicine that UMU gave them, while also trying to create their own. They conduct tests, and notice that the disease can thrive in extreme cold, but not an environment with low humidity and high heat. They pass this information on to UMU and Kannap, in hopes of it being useful. The disease has since left Petrokovian borders by people who were infected who left before the shut down. Particularly infected flights arrive at UMU, Soviet Chernarus, and Chilokver.

The Serksis Federation closes its borders and notifies all nations that our airspace is restricted and anyone caught trying to enter the country will be killed. Patients diagnosed with the illness are taken to an isolated medical facility. The federation's military has been dispatched to patrol the border. The minister of the nations healthcare that's in charge of the facility made a public statement.

"So far we have not come up with any cure, no known cure exist in the worked today for this new infection. Our researchers believe this is from variants of the flu that have adapted to overpower our vaccines. Under orders of the government no one is allowed in or out of the country or they will be shot. Any aircraft flying above our airspace shall be shot down. We will continue to research and find a new drug for this infection. If the situation come that people are continuing to get infected before we find a cure all infected citizens will be killed and cremated to stop the spread. We promise to keep the population informed as we find out more"

The new dictator Zaserk Xihouan and his family have locked down the capital city,. All citizens are given a date for which they will get tested at their local hospital. Workers in the Capital building are routinely checked for signs of the flu. The dictator believes the quickest way to handle the spread of this infection is by killing them, but multiple advisers are convincing him to wait.

Petrokovian scientists do further research, and figure out that while not the only method, the disease seems to be able to transfer by food. Current tests are being done to determine if it can be transferred by plain water and air.

Microbiologists in the USSP have determined that it is a virus, but not related to the Flu in any way. It is a new form of virus.

New symptoms have emerged. As the virus progresses, victims grow delusional, and can become very violent, like savage animals. They do not seem to recognize friends or family, according to reports.

Petrokovia has issued a lock down on all governmental and military facilities, and opens specific hospitals that are meant to stay free of the disease, so that non-infected citizens may still get treatment.

Scientists in Petrokovia have refined the UMU's drug; it stunts the spread of the virus for about twice as long as before. It is the first step towards a cure, but it is also only the first step of a long journey.

The UMU attempts again for a stronger version of this medication, not only trying to stunt the virus' growth, but to also hopefully combat the virus, weakening it at the least. This new potential medication/vaccine is made up of various Antibiotics. They send this new vaccine to Petrokovia.

Chernarus, in a desperate attempt to contain the disease, closes borders to immigrants. All flights going to or away from Chernarus are cancelled. Chernarus's top scientists are being called to work on, at the very least, a vaccine for the disease. Hundreds of cases have been reported, with several deaths so far.

Troops in hazmat suits will patrol the border, particularly with Petrovokia and Egypt. The Premier has apologized for this seemingly hostile action, but its for the best if they want to contain the disease. The government has warned civilians to steer clear of hospitals, as they can be breeding grounds for the pathogen; face masks will be distributed to the population, particularly those living in urban areas.

Scientists believe that the disease's symptoms of insanity and paranoia may be a later symptom of the disease, and that it may be zoonotic, according to separate but potentially isolated cases of people claiming to have gotten the virus from pigeons. However, it is too early to make any assumptions - vaccine research is currently underway. The government heavily advises the family or relatives of victims give them plenty of food, water, and of course, rest.

Following the detection of the disease in Oatley,the miltary has been equipped with HAZMAT suits and all have been put under quarantine. The government has issued pamphlets to all citizens in an attempt to raise public awareness. Meanwhile, further research on cures or vaccines are taking place while the military secretly investigates into its suitabiltiy as a biological agent.

Further research indicates that the disease may also spread through air and water, although it is unconfirmed. Chernarus has proposed a worldwide cure effort for the disease. Chernarussian citizens also "celebrate" X-flu (name of flu given by Chernarussian scientists; I know, so original) Awareness Day, to mourn those who died to it as well as urge other governments to start cure/vaccine research.

Around 2,000 cases have already been reported, with several hundred deaths so far. Tens of thousands of cases have been expected to go unreported. The government has begun posting the list of names of the dead on the Internet. The Premier has commented on the pandemic, to reporters and government officials alike; "I assure you, the governments of multiple countries have already started working on a cure. The world's top scientists, experts, and doctors have banded together to fight this new and horrific disease. All we can do at the moment is maintain order...please, do not panic..."

Petrokovia understands the militarized borders between them and Chernarus. Likewise, the USSP condemns Chilokver's tests of it as a weapon, but deems the situation too dire to respond to it accordingly. For now, Petrokovia will let it slide without argument.

The USSP also tells citizens to stay indoors, lock all doors and windows, turn air vents in the house off, and tape up cracks in window sills and doorways with duct tape. The Premier and the Cabinet are all transported to a secret facility built for them in case of major disasters (including nuclear strikes, disease, etc.).

The country has imposed a curfew from 10:00 AM EST (using EST because I'm too lazy to use my country's timezone) to 8:00 PM EST in order to quarantine the disease. The military and local law enforcement units will be patrolling to make sure no one violates curfew. Those caught doing so will be serving 6 months-1 year of jailtime, including a small fine.

The UMU continues their relentless search in finding a cure. They begin doing research into the virus heavily. After two months of experimenting, researching, and testing, they believe they may have found something to potentially combat the Virus. They send this new possible vaccine/treatment to The USSP.

Petrokovia receives the new possible cure from the UMU and begins testing. So far, tests prove somewhat positive, but further testing and refinement is needed. the USSP feels that they and UMU may be close to a possible cure.

[Soviet Chernarus]

Modern drugs are ineffective against the disease, as it is resistant to antibiotics and other drugs and medications. Scientists have begun labeling the stages of the disease as it progresses, in order to better understand it; the curfew that was recently imposed is somewhat effective in containing and quarantining the virus as the outbreak begins to slow down in Chernarus. So far, 30,000 cases and 5,000 deaths have been reported.

The UMU keeps on that same medication. They begin using other types of herbs and ingredients known to combat viruses with the medication. They also try other things with this medication, hoping at least one of the additions will help the medication kill the virus faster.

Again, Chernarus proposes a global cure effort involving scientists from all nations. Scientists begin working in underground labs. The Premier as well as other government officials have been evacuated and transported to a secure yet classified location. The upper echelon of the Stavka and Chernarussian military leadership have also been transported to classified locations. Propaganda leaflets promoting and applauding the scientists efforts are distributed amongst the population

Petrokovia also supports the idea of a global effort, and urges Chernorus to aid them and the UMU in finding and refining a cure.

After some refinement, the currently proposed cure appears promising, usually slowing the virus, but on occasion even killing it. Petrokovian scientists start calling it "Герой" (Geroy-translates as Hero).

Chernarus has launched project EXF - standing for Exterminating X-Flu - it will be directed under the National Chernarussian Health Agency (NCHA); over 10,000 scientists will be working on this project. The Head of EXF, Sergéy Mikhailvich has pledged to eradicate and purge the virus from Chernarus.

Scientists have created a list of stages, noticing that the disease becomes more severe as time passes:

In New Moscow alone, tens of thousands of troops are deployed in order to enforce the curfew. All imported and exported goods are to be examined by NCHA medical experts for the X-flu. The government urges citizens to cook food before eating in order to kill the pathogen; this is the same case with drinks.

Hospitals have completely shut down due to the outbreak; doctors must directly drive to the victims house as well as take excessive but necessary caution measures in order to ensure that they do not contract the disease from the victim. With no effective drugs or medications to combat the virus, most doctors order families and relatives to feed them with plenty of food and water, like the government has advised. Ineffective drugs and pills made purely out of sugar are also given, with promises of helping the victim to "cope with the disease"

In order to better enforce the curfew, helicopters have been utilized in major cities. Civilians are strictly advised to stay home, with, of course, some exceptions such as buying food. Government-made leaflets informing the populace about X-flu, as well as its symptoms and how to prevent contracting the disease, are in the process of being distributed to every household. The government slogan for this is to "Inform, Advise, and Prevent."

Several conspiracy theorists have accused the Chernarussian government collaborating with other nations in order to create X-flu, as to exercise more control over the populace.

The UMU increases some of the amounts of the known virus killing ingredients into the medication. Meanwhile leaving others for other refinements, searching for different ingredients to help kill the virus.

The USSP adopts the Chernorussian stage listing, but adds some more information, as 1 in 50 patients seem to have different last symptoms. As of yet, it is unknown why 2% of people infected show differing symptoms, as it has been confirmed as the same virus (Sacrovitosarciasis); it appears to be a differing strain. Petrokovia urges other countries to look into this matter as well.

Following military investigation into SVS, a surprising fact has been leaked to civilian researchers. The virus contains blends of RNA from different families of viruses, suggesting artificial influences in its creation. Using this knowledge, researchers have now created a new formula designed to prevent necrosis in victims. Batches have already been sent to Petrokovia, UMU and Soviet Chernarus. The disease appears to have been isolated to Oakley, and the spread of the virus has been slowed significantly.

The doctors inside the federation reported they have made no progress. With the nation on lock down and no communication with the outside world the order is given to kill the patients. Unknown to the doctors that work there the building was destroyed then burned with both patients and their caretakers inside. The federation launches more men to patrol its borders to make sure no foreigners into the country, there has been a few reported deaths of people trying to enter the country. Men in hazard suits are working to dispose of the remnants of the bodies and building.

Petrokovia thanks Chilokver for its contribution, and passes out the medicine to its citizens. Meanwhile, scientists have entered the final testing phase of the cure created by them and the UMU.

The Premier is worried about the idea of a country purposefully making the disease, and promises to launch an investigation as soon as Petrokovian citizens are cured.
