Those assembled were the top men and women for the job. Govrnor Wisco had handed them the orders in manilla files. Upon reading them, they each incinerated their files in the paper destroyer at their feet. Wing Commander Scott was a veteran of the 4th Airwing, before being brought to the New Haven district to serve as head of Air defence. She was the focus of this mission, she was to direct a strike upon Whitshorian Interensts on the Isthmus. Nodding to Governor Wisco "Well, I think our people are well up for it" she said as she thought of all the revelant people she'd need to brief in person, without using any radios or telephones, no doubt the Whiteshorians were trying to listen in. Still with the times it was a great undertaking

Santiago Airbase 0330

The 16 Skylords at the airbase were loaded with 10 500lb guided Bombs and two 1200lb laser guided "Cookie" HE Bunker buster cradled under the wings and belly of each jet. heading off NWW, they clung to the terrain, using the gently rolling hills as cover.

Behind them, a rear guard of 4 I4 fighters followed to protect from any forbidden SAM systems that the Whiteshorians had

Chitre 0330

At the Chitre Airbase, 12 I4 Fighters and 6 Skylords were taxiing on the tarmac to the single runway, under their wings were 2 SR4 ASM and 4 500lb Smart bombs. One by one they throttled up their engines and ascended to only 50ft above the sea, heading for New Moscow

La Enea 0300

The military airstrip there hosted four I4 fighters today, under the cover of darkness, with 12 100lb bombs and two 5oolb guided bombs. Taking off was easy enough, they just hung low, barely 100ft above the sea, at Mach 0.9, it didn't matter if the Whiteshorians detected this flight, their aircraft were too slow in low flight.

"All units are to be aware a drill is being conducted in our airspace, please standdown all immediate airdefense measures, Air defense positions 1,2,4 and 9 are to remain of secondary alert, identify before firing" the radio alert was issued as soon as the aircraft entered the edge of the Restrictred Air Area.

The two fighters had been in the air 20 minutes, waiting to see if any active radar was detectable, senseing none, the 16 Skylords took off, some 48,000ft below.

When the sudden screech of the jet's rattled overhead, despite being warning just 20 minutes ago, it was enough to startle the men and women of the 1st Eastern Regiment. Still as the hour approached, they fueled up their tanks, trucks, jeeps, stocked up rations and made final preparations. They could be up to the old Canal by the time the sun rose on this auspicious day, if all went really well. Which knowing any sort of action, was really unlikely

It was now or never. The GPS locations had been loaded upon the SR4 missiles in the nose of the submarine. "Launch tubes 1,2,3 and 4" he announced in a voice a little over a conversational tone. Pressing the button, they launched out of the torpedo tubes, leaving a short trail of bubble before bursting to the surface,only to skim it as the guidance components seek out their targets at 200m

The small convoy had left Gronstburg last night, consisting of the destroyers RAS King Gusral I and RAS King Kaerl III, they were escorting RAS Stalwart and RAS Defender, two heavy LST's and ARAS Servant, the supply ship for the whole venture, codenamed Errant Compass. Steaming along at 22 knots, they had the entire ocean to themselves

"I don't know if this is exactly wise" King Kaerl IV muttered as Prime Minister Arra stood beside him at the window, overlooking a simple courtyard. "I know but the Tarkanese obviously know what they are doing if they can tackle the Whiteshorians, your highness" Arra replied courteously. "Even so, we haven't had an experience in this matter" Kaerl replied."Still, your , we could stay confined to these small islands, and stagnate while the others reap the benefits, is it not better to try and fail than to not try at all? " Without a further word Arra walked off, clearly happy to leave the King to ponder this poignant statement.

Built in 1992, the MV President Nascethawan was hardly a flash ship but she was the flagship of the TNL, the national shipping line. Among her decks crowded 500 men of the Tarkanese Defense Materiel Organization, 240 of the Tarkanese Special Operations Group and a few other civilians. Whilst mostly transporting things like farming goods and industrial machinery, she also was carrying 320 tons of munitions and three T2 missiles.

Pulling into New Haven Harbour under darkness, she disembarked her cargo to the quay.

A few blocks away, Governor Wisco watched the town, a dark shape as it was, blackout conditions had been called, as a result in a empty field 5km south, a few lights in a grid were lit up as a ruse. Commonly known in Tarkanese society as a firefly town, they originally been used in the 2nd Great Southern War to distract Dewhurst-Narculian Bombers to a fair degree of success. The town bristled with old 91mm anti-aircraft guns, a few 26mm autocannons and 12 SAM sites. New Haven was also guarded by two basic emplacements, one overlooking the only road in, the second guarded the inner harbour, both were armed with 91mm guns. On top of that a few mines laced the area.

North Western Strike Force 0420

Seeing the runway ahead, lit up, trailing from the edge of the island to the center of Bocas de Toro , as there were only 50ft above the water's surface they were a sleek line. When they were 2km, they rose to 500ft and begun raining the 500lb guided bombs on the length of the runway making sure there was hardly a section would be untouched. The I4 fighters had a much more basic job, they circled, keeping a radar eye out as the Skylords started dropping their bunker buster laser guided 1200lb bombs, some onto the basic hangar, others onto the runway where their heavy noses would ensure they would ruin the runway from underneath

South Western Strike Force 0420

Similar was happening over David, however some pilots were having a bit of difficulty lining up the service runway, parallel to the main runway. Also care was taken that a few bombs were released over the terminal and tarmac apron.

New Moscow 0424

The Four missiles were seen by the Skylords, whether they hit or not was uncertain but most likely given the fireballs's position seemingly at the Three airports serviced by the . Their targets could just be seen against the half moon's glimmer on the harbour's surface. Took a while for the radars on the missiles mounted under the wings of the Skylords to Identify the ships against the background image of the city and quay but they locked on to the familiar shapes and were fired, trailing a grey like of smoke behind them as they hung low. Having fired their missiles, they passed ow over the city, heading North.

Anton 0430

Forward operating platoons had moved forwards over the border, moving through the vegetation, already seized the Rio Hato Airport and the southern section of the Eagle line, behind them, 3600 men were crossing the border with 32 Crocdile LBT Tanks

Penonome 0450

The forward operating teams here had already reached the northern foot of EL Valle and the 2800 men behind weren't too far behind, moving through the forest with caution as they advanced


Lake Gatun

Skimming low the entire group passed over the Gatun Dam, before circling back and dropping their 500lb bombs onto the gates and dam face. Not hoping to stay in the air for much longer, they headed South East with all haste.

Damages in the Bombings
The Bombings caused less damage than what the Tarkanese had expected but the losses were still quite severe. In Bocas de Toro, the damage turned the airfield into a wasteland. In David, or Devid, there was one civilian casualty, but it was a maintainance worker, not a tourist and the runway was severely damaged but the damage was slightly less. In New Moscow, the airports were severely damaged and 7 maintainence workers were killed in the bombings. The city was in a panic as people thought it was a terrorist attack, only later will they learn it was a Tarkanese attack. The Gatun Dam was destroyed but in a form of bad luck, 2 maintainance workers were KIA due to the bombings as the people in the towns captured by the Tarkanese aside from the odd ultra-nationalist firing his gun at the Tarkanese soldiers reluctantly accepted the new masters.

Eastern Front 0900

The initial ground advancement had gone well, they were approximately 50km from the original front-line, the occasional potshot from the rare Whiteshorian Nationalists, so far the medics had to tend to 13 injured Tarkanese and about three dozen of Whiteshorian civilians. As the Crocodile Tanks rumbled along, the infantry mopped up, seizing towns, subduing or eliminating any threats. Up ahead, the Basilik Armoured Cars scouted, they were gradually pulling closer to the canal.

Colonel Mottell was gleaming, he knew he couldn't be too happy but at the moment field reports were reporting only 12 Whiteshorians dead and only injuries on his side, he knew the Whiteshorian figure was speculative but for 50km of ground, it was cheap. He moved pins by pins on the map on his wall, the sun was still rising and the Tarkanese flag flew a little higher. As the eastern front was going so well, he could advance the Western Front, he had 42 Crocodile Tanks and 4000 men amassed there, more than enough to seize Northern Whiteshorian Panama. Picking up his desk telephone "Captain, can you inform Lietentant Colonel Stepho to initiate the Golfo Run"

After Lieutenant had been told to move out, he had to get the word across to the two advance camps, Anson and Benham, both the groups were poised to go since midnight last night and now it had happened they had set off at his word. Within 10 minutes the first tank were rumbling across the border, Stepho following in an old battered jeep with his battalion, some 30 minutes behind.
