Well as I get much advise from you guys against the personnal laser rifle, I changed my old post and will use ballistic from now on. But as other nations and I begin to move in and get our gifts from the departed Betazoid player, we should be able to have some limited FT. Just so we can at least have a chance in the fight against gigantic space beasts and possible orbital bombardment from the enemy.

I think you're overblowing the technology gap a bit. While the aliens (Kiwis and I) are greatly more advanced than Earth, we are not omnipotent. Far from it. And, to boot, I'm on mankinds side, so there's no real need to lessen the tech gap.

For one, nations like mine have extremely high tolerance to EMP blasts. You could have hit my ships with one of those blasts on the hull and I would have seen nothing more than a power surge and maybe a small hull breech.

Also, I came back to explain my leaving. Pretty much the same as Betazoid. Third year engineering is "The Gauntlet". I'm charging head first into it right now... OC, I'll be sending a raptor loaded with information and some tech down to one of the primary nations blaring a distress signal so it doesn't get sot down.

This winter, when break rolls around, I would enjoy another RP with you fine fellows. (Also, from the raptor, you guys should be able to reverse engineer jump drives, start charts to my homeworlds, and effective artificial gravity... Did I just open the door for the humans to return to the stars? Yes I did...)

Eh, my aliens aren't exactly helping the humans. The first wave is the group that only seeks capital gain, but they have already had problems with the local religion and this will eventually cause a cleansing to be called and bring a war fleet into action against the earth. I was trying to draw it out in a way that looked much like the colonization of the Americas. Small group comes in first and does a little damage, but nothing dramatic, then they get in trouble so they have more help come. That eventually leads to the crown getting interest in the wealth coming out of the colony or that there are too many citizens at risk for a small independent colony to defend. Either way a real army will arrive and decide that they should be in possession of the planet.

Technicaly, even if humans does know about FT tech, most would be hesitant about using it, since it's not proven it's worth yet. Also, building FT tech stuff usually costs much more then building PMT stuff. I think.

That would be my argument there as well. Just because they have the blueprints, doesn't mean that they are technologically capable of building the things they have there in front of them. Those FTL drives will only do so much against some alien races who could stop them from working, Interdiction fields for example. Or for aliens who don't hail from the same universe and thus require special technologies to traverse the multiverse to reach them. After all, this is aliens invading earth not Humans invading the stars.

I'm giving them theories. Not tech. Tech would be "LOL HAVE A BATTLESTAR". Theories are that, theory. Just because the humans can now look at my information doesn't mean they'll have any idea what to do with it.

The humans are still stuck on their one little rock in space. Your IC nations should be looking at humans the same way we OOC look at insects. Relatively harmless, but they might spread disease or they could kill you if they swarm you.

The shielding or armour plating your ships need simply to travel FTL should be enough to not even need a paint job after the humans hit you with their best weapons. You should be on the verge of godmodding simply by your nations existence. The only reason I joined the humans side was because if this RP were to have gone anyway realistically, following Kobolian defeat, the standing armies of Earth should have been wiped out in less than 24 hours.

Why would then humans be any different? The Embrion Empire has enslaved dozens of races with hardly a problem at all.
