The Civil War in Avinaa has all but intensified, after a winter of quiet, with Catholic Forces attacking loosely armed Protestants in the Province of Lincourt and risking a massacre of minority protestants President Howe called for the international community(Dekarta, Acro, and Reichland) to assist in "returning the rule of law" to the streets of Avinaa. In other developments the Government of President Howe has recognize the independence of the Pearl Islands, but not hat of the Island of Vellentina.

In other military happenings the Army backed Catholic militias have begun landing forces on the eastern coast of Zabina pushing back defending troops 12 miles. The Protestant forces in the Avinaa Homeland are collapsing before the world's eyes as an increasingly sectarian civil war could turn into a genocide.

NEW AVINAA

In Nova Roma members of the National Transitional Assembly(NTA) condemned the Anqorkian attack of Ashunit, and recognized the independence of both the Republic of Vellentina, and the Kingdom of the Pearl Islands. The President of the Democratic Republic of Avinaa(DRA) Frank Good has asked the Peoples' Republic of Fawahim to assist in his governments' attempts to control militia power.
In the Protestant takeover of New Avinaa hundreds of armed militias control different parts of the country, each with their own goals and reasons for existing. Some formed to win independence for their region in New Avinaa, others wish to massacre Catholics, all have different views on how they think the nation should be governed. The most predominant of which are the Free Protestant Army(FPA), the NA Liberation Force(NALF), and the Communist People's Army(CPA). The FPA backs the Frank Good lead Government in Nova Roma with the NALF being its chief rival, but is supported by Fawahim, the CPA is supported by the Ionian State. Hundreds of other militias have their supporters both foreign and domestic.

Vellaletta

With President Howe's government collapsing more and more by the day authorities in Vellaletta have declared their intention to separate from the Avinaa completely. The Territorial Legislature declared the island independent and a representative democracy, with the legislature electing a new governor(HoS) and a prime minister(HoG).

The parliament of Vellaletta(known how as the House of Assembly) is made up of three parties, the Democratic Development Party(DDP), the Republican Front(the political wing of the NFD), and the Liberal Communist Party(LCP). In the 60 seat legislature the DDP has 34 seats with the Republican Front having 20 seats, the Liberal Communist Party has 25 seats, and 1 seat is held by an independent. The prime minster is a man named David Hands of the DDP, the new governor is Charles Gates from the ranks of the Liberal Communists. Already the Republic of Vellaletta is getting involved in international politics, Governor Gates has met King Xi and First Minister Andy Murns of the Pearl Islands, he has invited the King of Acro or a high ranking official to join them in the capital of the Peal Islands. The House of Assembly passed a resolution condemning the invasion of Ashunit with Prime Minister Hands making a public address to country of Vellaletta stating that "the government of the Republic will not accept the occupation of Ashunit in any form."

The Herzelein Uprising, or Zerscheleiben as the Levites called it had began the final stage of the horrors that fate had in store for them. They would not realize the extent of such evil until the entire ordeal was over, but that time was far from them. The prison camps had been turned into labor camps, and several large manufacturing corporations such as Bohr Weapon Works quickly built factories in the camps in order to take advantage of the free labor. The Landser Military was in the process of rearming and expanding, so that a repeat of the previous war would not happen. The Chancellor had filtered down an outline of what he had planned next on the world stage. The annexation had gone completely unopposed and now the second phase of his plan was about to be set in motion. The next target was the colony of Osterburg, and they would have it back, with or without the use of force.

The Chancellor has once again declared his intent to the world, in order to have justification for any further action that he may take. He penned a formal letter to the leader of Acro, who currently possessed the colony, requesting that the colony be returned peacefully to Landser control. The actual letter read like this:

To the Leadership of Acro,
On behalf of the Landser people, I humbly request that the nation of Osterburg be returned peacefully to us, for we are its rightful owners. The populace their has Landser blood running through them, which means that they are subjects of our government. I do not wish for any violence to erupt for we are allies, however we will not hesitate to take the required actions to reunite our nation. We will not suffer injustice, nor will be pushed around.

I am aware that you have been excellent caretakers of our colony, however the time of your governorship has reached its end. I assure you that your populace will not come to harm. You have five days to reply to this letter, and if this tenure of time should expire with either a negative or absent reply, then the Landser Military will have no choice but to take it back by force. You have been warned,
Chancellor Tirpitz, Leader of Reichsland.

The Chancellor's Office

The Chancellor looks at a map of the world. which is spread out on a wall. He turns around to look at the staff that he has assembled with him. He is outlining his new plans for two military bases and one naval/research base in the far north. This land of ice would provide Reichsland with an area free from the prying eyes of the world, giving them ample privacy to conduct their top secret weapon and equipment research. The Chancellor takes an ornate pointer and taps it on the outline of an area. [color=navy]" I have drawn up another annexation law which declares the outlined area here to be part of the Landser Empire. This law will become effective 5 months from now, after we have finished construction on these facilities that you see labeled on the map. I have consulted with many officials of both the military and major armament corporations, and they have all said that the benefits of having such a secluded research area would be great. They would be far from any nosy nation who would try to steal our research. It is from these bases that we will develop the weapons we need to secure ourselves as a major power on the world stage. Construction on these facilities began over a year ago, but due to the rugged terrain of the areas, progress has been slow. As I stated, these facilities should be completed within five months. The naval base has already completed its submarine pens, and 5 subs have already been tasked to the base. The research base is 82% complete, and we have also began to fly in several scientists. Goethe Energy Research has assured me that they have several projects they would like to have developed, and if they are completed then they will change the world forever. I look forward to seeing what results emanate from the research base, and I am sure that you do also. That is all for now, and I thank you for your time gentlemen."

With that the meeting was adjourned and as the staff members shuffled out of the Chancellor's Office, a young army officer stopped by to look at the map that the Chancellor had been using. He took a closer look at the area, and it sent a chill down his spine at the thought of what would be going on at those bases. He quickly gathered himself and proceeded on his way.

These are the arctic claims made by the Chancellor. Lavitz Naval base is the home of the main research base, however the scientists have set up smaller research stations at the other sites. These are mostly for gathering weather and astronomical data. Muller Naval Base at full capacity will be able to hold 5 destroyers, 2 frigates, 3 transports, as well as 8 submarines. Lavitz Army Base will house around 50 soldiers, and Von Kluger Army Base will garrison around 100 soliders.

Prime Minister Chramiec refused to receive the deported citizens due to the fact that they had also been causing trouble in Annopolite ports before they were allowed to sail to Soverith. They constantly harassed the government about how unfair Soverith was being. In truth, Soverith was sending sufficient supplies to Annopol. It was the distribution that was going wrong most of the time.

Chramiec sends a letter in reply to Corentin's saying,
"Annopol will no longer receive the prisoners. They will be returned immediately to Soverith where you shall be given the authority to decide on their punishment. We will also look into the issues concerning the distribution of agricultural products within our nation in order to prevent this kind of incident again.

Sincerely, Leslaw Chramiec, Prime Minister of Annopol."

June 11th, 1937

At a large public rally held outdoors at the FeldHalle*, Chancellor Tirpitz gives a rousing speech in which he announces several new laws and policies, as well as the fact that he would be personally handing out ceremonial awards to various citizens. The following is an excerpt of his speech.

"My fellow Landser, we have gathered at this magnificent place today to not only discuss our nation's plans, but to celebrate our people as well! Our culture is one of the most advanced in the world, and it is this way because we the people are superior! Do not be fooled, there are some that say we are a barbaric and warmongering race, but why? Because we strive to better ourselves and our nation? Because we fight for the purity of our culture and race? If these reasons are true, then by the gods I am a barbarian and a warmonger! What say you to that?! The Chancellor threw his hands up in the air to accentuate the question. The crowd of over 230,000 people roared in approval. Tirpitz looked around at the massive sea of people and smiled, throwing his right hand up into the air, he shouted "Allern Heil Reichsland!(All hail Reichsland!) The people responded by doing the same gesture and reciprocating the shout.

The Chancellor raised his hands to calm the audience. My friends, you have just participated in your first official party salute. After consulting with my advisors, as well as your elected representatives, we have decided that we need a way to show our political unity. We have created a new party known as the Zusalten Armen Hoschister Landser ver Reichsland Partei*, and every citizen who supports our government should join, for not only is it the right thing to do, but it will add a whole new visage of prestige to you. We will have rallies, parades, and sporting events. There will be community meetings and dinners, love and support. This organization will bring us all together as a true family! We shall find strength through unity, unity by patriotism, and patriotism through love. Reichsland has survived the test of time, and our empire shall stand for a thousand years more! Let the purification of our lands continue!

The Chancellor continued on with his speech, and when he was done the entire crowd once again erupted into cheers. They were enamored with their leader, and since he had come to rule, the economy and way of life had greatly improved so the things he said had to be right. The youth of the nation were growing up to become a generation of brutal and cold hearted people. Foreigners were being eyed with increasing suspicion as well, and now was the time that if you were not a Landser, then you had better be leaving the country.

NEW SMYRNA,NEW IONIA
Most immigrants in New Ionia were brought there from he mainland or had come there from other nations. Yet all of them, or almost all, had soething in common. They were kept in Temporary Holding Camps until deported. Some however did not wish to leave a life's worth behind.

Smugglign whatever weapons the could they revolted in teh THC of New Smyrna. The local colonial guard had a hard time and was unable to defeat the 20,000 immigrants. They were able to contain them in the district where the Temporary Holdign facilities were located.

The next day a Regiment of regulars arrived from a nearby Marine Base. Bombing the camp to a pulp, tehy moved in with tanks and military formations and equipment as well as air support from two fighter planes. The immigrants were butchered. Of the original 20,000 in the camp, 13,000 were killed while the others who surrendered were deported with all their belignings confiscated.

From then on all immigrants were heavily guarded. By The end of August of the same year Ionia was fully Ionian, and so was New Ionia, with the exception of some Avinaan, Landser and Federation citizens, legally restricted to 4,000.

A letter to Zakhar Gusin from Emperor Takeo Nagatako received on the 9th of April, 1937 read as follows;

Dear President Gusin,
Your aggression in Aushanit will not be tolerated by the Empire of Dekarta. Whether you plan to attack farther after Aushanit or not know this, the Imperial Military is being mobilized as I write to you. Your invasion endangers foreign Dekartan bases in the islands north of the Republic of Aushanit. Not to mention Aushanit is a large and long time trade partner of Dekarta, taking advantage of our vast fishing, automobile manufacturing, and weapons manufacturing industries. Noting this I am well aware of the pact between Acro, Anqoraknia, and Dekarta, but your invasion directly goes against the pact and threatens war with my Empire. If I hear of Anqoraknian soldiers assaulting more Aushanti towns and major cities, the civilians of Aushanit will no longer be your only enemy.

Near Osari, 1937

While doing routine training exercises in an air base 23 miles north east of Osari, a Dekartan Nakamashi Ki-27 flying for the Imperial Army Air Service intercepted a military aircraft flying into private airspace and after many warnings, opened fire and destroyed the craft. Upon impact, 4 died including the pilot of the craft as it crashed into a telecommunications building inside of the air base. The explosion and following fire destroyed any possible national markings on the plane and pilot. The man was disfigured beyond all recognition, leaving the plane's origin unknown. No nation has claimed responsibility as of yet, and the Imperial government is calling for an immediate explanation from whoever sent the plane over Dekartan air space.

Aside from the Anqoraknian threat and the Incident over the Osari air base the Empire of Dekarta continued to thrive, investing millions into weapons research, and all branches of the military. A military draft was considered but turned down by the Emperor as recruitment was continuing to rise. Nagatako saw the Imperial forces as the Jewel of his nation, challenging militaries from all over the world. But the resources in Vakarea began to dwindle, and soon the Empire would need more raw resources to fuel it's massive war machine. In late 1937 Nagatako invited the Gujiyan isles to join the Dekartan Empire on its path to becoming a world power by agreeing to join the Empire. If the rebelling colony of Avinaa were to agree, the Dekartan Navy, Army, and Marines would enter the Gujiyan isles as if they were their own land and defend it from the colonizers of Avinaa.

Internationally, relations with Anqoraknia and Acro began to fall apart while relations with Reichsland and Ionia began to rise greatly. Ionia and Dekarta signed a trade deal in 1936, and Dekarta and Reichsland signed many deals having to do with sharing information in their rivaling weapons research departments.

President Howe's Bunker.
General Arihito sits patiently at the table while he waits for the arrival of President Howe. They were here to discuss terms of assistance. Despite Acro publicly declaring support for Howe's government until now little actual support had been given. However today under the instruction of King Fabius, General Arihito was here to change that. Arihito glances over the documents he had brought with him. President Howe enters the room suddenly, Arihito is shocked by his appearance. The past few months had not been kind.

Mr. President, honored to be here to make this deal. Arihito rises and shakes the mans hand. Howe takes the hand and shakes his before taking his seat and signals for the general to do the same. Fabius has authorized support for your legitimate government. In exchange for a few things. You must agree to support the independence of the Pearl Isles, the other republic we don't care about. In exchange we shall grant medical, financial support for your men, as well as weapons and tanks, planes, etc.

Dear Chancellor,
You seem to forget that the land that you call Osterburg was originally a province of Acro called Xing'Fen, and you were granted ownership of the territory in the mutual understanding that despite your occupation of the territory it was Acronese. You lost control of it and it has been returned to us. I might be inclined to return it to you if not for the barbaric treatment seen within Reichland of the Levite people. My council and I have received most disturbing reports from your nation about the appalling conditions. Osterburg will not be returned to you as you are a monster.

President Osburg, the leader of the Government in Rome(GiR) watches the events in Reichland with increasing unease. The invasion of the Keastral and the subsequent backing down of the Keastral government has caused the GiR to worry, but what could they do? Avinaa was not what it use to be, in middle of civil and sectarian war the country was to busy fighting itself. Thousands of ethic Levites have crossed the border into Northern Gual, and Eastern Lincourt. The Quorum of Thirteen, the de facto leaders of the GiR has ordered regional governors to treat the Levites like normal refugees. The refugee camps become so large the regional administrations can't cope so Osburg forms the Federal Ministry of Refugees appointing Army General Lance Furin as it's minister. But little resources are given to the new ministry has Osburg is busy destroying the Acronese funding Howe rebellion. Ousted President Howe also publicly stated that he will recognize the independence of the Pearl Islands

In New Avinaa the central government based in Nova Roma is finding it increasingly difficult to control the country as lawlessness and infighting between rival militias explode across the country. The Free Protestant Army(FPA) controls Nova Roma and is the official policing force of the capital, well as most of the southeast. The NA Liberation Force(NALF) controls the southwest and northern areas, with the Communist People's Army controlling the north by New Ionia.

Despite Acro's support for the government of President Howe King Fabius was also working with the other Avinian groups in an attempt to stabilize the shattered country, not to mention working to save the thousands of Levites who were flooding into refuge camps. In a Imperial Edict signed by King Fabius all Levite refuges were given asylum in Acro as well as limited citizenship, entitling them to many of the rights of Acronese citizens. In an attempt to deescalate the increasingly sectarian war King Fabius sends the respected ambassador Dorik Xanq to negotiate peacekeeping forces and other possible deals with President Osburg.

It would be my greatest pleasure to invite you to dine with me at my manor, I am under the authority of King Fabius to offer anything necessary to obtain a meaningful military or trade agreement between our two great nations. Howe and if these negotiations succeed they will be all to willing to join your government. I eagerly await your request.

The Chancellor happily agreed to sign a military technology agreement with Dekarta, for they were the other leader in weapon development. With both nations combined knowledge, untold levels of advancement could be achieved. The Landser Government hosted a formal dinner in which Landser officials met with Dekartan officials to discuss non-political issues. Seen here are men from both nations having a friendly discussion outside.

The weapons research agreement is hopefully but one of many ties that will help Reichsland forge a great alliance with their neighbors across the sea. The Dekartans also mention the fact that they have brought down an unidentified military aircraft that was flying over their sovereign airspace. The Luftwehr Commandant, Heinrich Ribbentrop, personally vowed that the Landser air force would do whatever was in its power to help find the culprit and destroy any other planes from the offending country that presents itself as a target. The Landser Military Command were notorious about showboating, and they constantly looked for ways no matter how benign to make themselves seem grander. The Chancellor wanted to leave an impression on the Dekartans that would show them how strong their military was, so he ordered that a honor parade be hosted which would feature the well disciplined and outfitted Landser military.

When the Chancellor received the reply from the leader of Acro he was furious. How dare they call him a monster?! They would pay for their insolence, and Reichsland would not stop at Osterburg, they would advance into the Acronese mainland until they sued for peace! However that would come later, for he had other pieces to put into play before he would begin an open invasion. He made two declarations that were to go into effect immediately. The first was that every Acronese person living in Reichsland was to be deported to the prison camps and or executed, including any government officials that may be present in Reichsland. The Acronese government would soon have something to complain about! The second declaration was a very important one. It could possibly upset the precarious balance of peace, and plunge the world into war once again. The Chancellor made no public announcement, instead preferring to play close to the chest. He contacted the Navy and told them that a policy of unrestricted submarine warfare would now be launched against the nation of Acro. They were to put to sea and destroy anything that bore the Acronese flag.

It was on July 16th that the first Acronese merchant vessel was sunk. The ship was travelling Eastward to its home port when Landser Sonar picked up the cavitation caused by the ship's props. The Landser gained ground on the unsuspecting ship and when they were in sufficient torpedo range, the sub captain gave the order to rise to periscope depth. As the sub rose and finally leveled out, the captain peered through the scope out at the Acronese vessel. When he was satisfied with their position he gave the order to fire two torpedoes. The underwater missiles sped toward their target, spewing out a large trail of bubbles behind them. It seemed like an eternity for the sub captain, and just when he was starting to think they had fired duds, two brilliant white bursts of fire leapt out from the ship.

This was quickly followed by the sonar technician confirming that their had been two detonations and that he could detect the sounds of a sinking ship. The sub captain continued to watch through the periscope as the ship quickly made its way to the bottom of the ocean.

This success was soon followed by many others, merchant vessels were being lost at an alarming rate, along with the goods that they carried with them. The Landser subs were on the prowl, and they would not stop until their prey was completely gone.

In which all Dekartan citizens from Sanson will be returned to Dekarta, all News within Anqoraknia will stay within Anqoraknia, fortifications along Anqoraknia's borders will increase, East Aushanitians have been given freedom to progress within Anqoraknia and their own country freely, and a whole new public works campaign has been set to increase mining and farming output. Anqoraknia also will abandon aid in any International conflict. New funding into weapons research has brought out new weapons such as the Zorian Wolffighter IIB and the new Anq T21 Tank.

Chancellor Tirpitz has authorized the creation of a new branch of the military. It shall be known as the Reichswaffe, and it will be comprised of more highly trained soldiers than the Sturmwehr. The Reichswaffe will be less in numbers, but will have first access to prototype weaponry and equipment. They shall be responsible for assaulting and defending strategic areas and persons. The Chancellor has given control of the newly formed Reichswaffe to a Sturmwehr Colonel named Rhinehard Dietrich. He is a cunning and shrewd military tactician and thinker, and under him the Reichswaffe will flourish. Upon accepting his new post he was promoted to Reichsmarschall (Marshall of Reichsland), which is mostly a ceremonial title because this rank is actually equal in terms of authority with other heads of the military.

The Chancellor has approved the formation of two initial Reichswaffe divisions each consisting of around 13,000 men. Dietrich, with the support of the Chancellor, has appointed his own officers. They have started taking volunteers from the other branches, where they will be issued both mental and physical aptitude tests. Those who pass will be allowed to continue with their transfer. As an added requirement, potential transfers must also prove that they are of pure Landser decent, with no foreign or Levite blood in them from at least three prior generations. It will take at minimum an estimated two years to develop the new branch into its full force. The Reichswaffe will be headquartered in the city of Bronnenberg.

The new branch will also have new uniforms to denote their individuality from the other branches. Their uniforms shall be constructed of wool or sufficient substitute how they shall be imprinted with a camouflage pattern which shall enable them to more effectively secure victory in combat.

The Reichswaffe will come to be viewed with awe and fear, and its members will enjoy a level of prestige. Reichsmarschall Dietrich has also gained the Chancellor's support to create a sub branch of the Reichswaffe, which will be known as the Reichswaffe SS with the SS standing for Sektor Struppe (Sector Personnel). This sub branch shall serve as the primary guard and administrative personnel at all concentration camps. This branch shall also have their own distinctive uniforms. They shall be black in color with the Zahler Party Armband displayed on the left sleeve and each soldier shall wear a black nickel-steel helmet. The Officer's uniforms shall also come with a special ceremonial hat, with aluminum piping around the trim.

This new branch shall become one of the most feared and despised branches of the Landser Military in all of its history.

In direct response to Reichsland's show of strength in the streets of Weisiger, Emperor Nagatako ordered General Masaki to "out march" their new found allies. Masaki invited Landser officials to view the spectical. A show of 20 new Nakamashi Ki-45's and 15,000 Imperial soldiers from all 3 branches would march the streets of Fikotashi armed with the Type I Rifle, The new service weapon of the Dekartan Imperial Army and Marines. The Nakamashi Ki-45 would be making it's first public appearance at the Military Parade as well.

The parade was of course a "peaceful stab" at The Landser Military Command, not meaning to anger any officials in Reichsland, only meaning to begin a friendly rivalry between the Xiosaki sea militaries. Looking at the rather bored faces of the Landser officials, General Masaki knew that soon the true power of the nation would be shown regardless of how melancholy their looks are now.

July 19th 1939

DEKARTA ANNEXES KAYOTA.
This morning the world awoke to war. Dekartan soldiers marched east from Vakarea into Kayota, taking the nation without conflict as the military surrendered as soon as high command got word of the 50,000 man invasion force stepping into the streets of Kurikawa city, the new capital. All factories, workers, and rights to resources have been put under Dekartan jurisdiction. Those who fought were killed, those who were killed were burned or buried outside of villages and towns. Kayota may be full of untapped resources, but it can not last forever, and Emperor Nagatako knew this.

The War Thus Far
After months of guerilla attacks on Avinaan convoys, troop movements, armories, and vehicle and equipment warehouses, the Avinaan military was in full retreat across Gujiya. The small expeditionary force provided by Avinaa was not nearly enough to maintain order across the numerous islands. Their forces were stretched thin by an ever-expanding frontline with the rebels, and Avinaan outposts and bases fell more and more quickly. After learning that the rebels had two destroyers of foreign make that were escorting their supply ships and harassing Avinaan shipping, a long and costly effort was made to find chase the ships down. However, due to the lack of encrypted communication methods, as well as the fact that numerous Avinaan bases had to coordinate together to concertedly search an area of the ocean meant it was very difficult to keep the movements of the Avinaan navy a secret. Countless informers working as laborers, food workers, and contractors in military bases meant that the two destroyers avoided the searchlights by going out at sea or to friendly ports in Trandosha.
As towns, and later large cities fell to the rebels, a shift occurred in their regularity and strength. Initially, the rebels were mostly Bajelok tribal members, but conquered cities had large Kochian populations that welcomed the rebels. While some Kochians were suspicious that the rebels’ goals were to enforce Bajelok hegemony over cities, many were sympathetic with the GNC. The GNC leadership was mainly Kochian, and Kochians were confident that they would have a say in the new Gujiyan government. This led to many Kochians seeking a place in the rebel army, which initially caused a logistical nightmare for commanders that had to divide their troops by ability, and organize the training of the new recruits. The incorporation of Kochians into MAGIM was a blessing in disguise, however. Tribal lines in the army became less pronounced as Kochians, who were tied more to the land than the tribe that controlled that land, became more and more common in the ranks. Army divisions were better organized and coordinated with each other better once more communication infrastructure fell under their control. Additionally, Kochians that worked in the factories of conquered cities would gladly receive payment to make clothes, guns, and steel for MAGIM.
While Fodina was the priority initially, Songe was the first large city to fall. All trade ships entering the Bogul Bay area were then directed to Songe instead of Oreh by GNC gunboats and destroyers, and the lack of supplies meant Oreh followed Songe in defeat a few months later. With the steel and textile factories in Oreh and Songe secured, MAGIM was able to overpower the Avinaan division stationed in Fodina, and the city fell after being bombed by refitted Albatross bombers. At this point, almost all of Thoroche Island was under GNC control. The Avinaan navy tried to blockade the island, but because of Thoroche’s close proximity with Korthepare Is. and Mache Is., and the fact that the nearest Avinaan naval base was all the way in New Colvin meant that the blockade was difficult to enforce with the limited navy that they had. Meanwhile, blockading attempts by the GNC were much more effective, because they utilized small improvised gunboats that could intercept ships directly from nearby seaside towns very quickly and escape just as quickly if an Avinaan destroyer was spotted on the horizon. At one point, 73 cargo ships were sunk or diverted by the GNC or their associated navies and privateers over a period of three months. The same period saw only 17 ships destroyed for evidence of supporting the rebellion. Mache Island was the bane of the Avinaan merchant navy, as the island stood close to both the route connecting Nagota City (and Oparu) with New Colvin and mainlaind Avinaa, and rebels used the island as a temporary base to attack an unprecedented number of ships. Eventually, a rumor spread that the Avinaan army were planning to burn down the sacred forests along the northern coasts of Mache to root out rebels, which only cemented a hatred of the Avinaan military among religious Gujiyans.

The Third Campaign
While the campaigns in Korthepare Is. and the rural areas of Bhaloh Is. progresses quickly, another campaign is devised by the GNC leadership. Seeking to enforce greater control over the north-south trade route stretching from Acro to Aushanit, the GNC creates an expeditionary force comprised mostly of their most experienced Kochian forces. It is believed that forcing Bajelok fighters to leave their homeland and fight in a foreign nation will significantly decrease morale, while Kochian soldiers will not have such reservations. GNC chairmen Sho Bataya travels to Oreh to increase support of what is publicly called the, “Movement to Restore Cultural Unity”. History would remember the act as the “First Gujiyan Invasion of Trandosha”. The GNC leadership saw that Trandosha had coastal cities, towns, and entire states in near autonomy with little centralized control. Vast areas of Trandosha were in civil disorder and dependent on the Gujiyan Isles for trade and supplies; the invasion would only legitimize complete Gujiyan control over these regions. In many places, GNC rebel cells were already operating from Trandoshan ports, facilitating the invasion. The greater Shenzhou area is the primary target of the invasion, with other nearby cities and ports considered secondary targets.

It is simple religious discrimination, and it is so pervasive in Avinaa that they now fight religious wars! Before Avinaan rule, Gujiya hadn’t seen religious conflict for hundreds of years. We fight now to free ourselves from such conflict. Gujiyans will once again hold hands in unity! …
(later)… We must not be selfish. Let us reach out to our friends, brothers, our mothers, trapped in a life of uncertainty in Trandosha! They live in fear, with no protection from the government. Can we stand by and do nothing when their government has no respect for their lives, their property? Can we stand by while lawlessness abounds in the very country that houses the sacred lands and relics? Trandosha has proven it cannot protect that which is most deserving of protection, and so we must act! To protect our culture, and our way of life!”

November 27th 1939, Oparu City

On November 27th, 1939, Dekartan naval ships filled with Imperial soldiers docked in the ports of Oparu and in the blink of an eye were stepping through the streets of the city, taking down any and all Othahlan flags and replacing them with Dekartan flags. Many confused Othahlans refused to have their flags taken down and accept the new Dekartan rulers. Many of them were beaten into submission or executed on the street. Public businesses were ransacked and taken over by Dekartan soldiers who needed supplies. 2 hours after the lower streets were taken word got to Othahlan Oparu Defense command that Dekartan Imperial soldiers were in their city to stay. The 7,000 defense soldiers in the city mobilized from their base in the eastern area of the city and rushed to the Dekartan claimed area to see what was going on. When an Othahlan soldier walked up to a Dekartan soldier to ask what they were doing in the city. The Dekartan soldier tried to tell the Othahlan soldier that they were there under direct order from General Makashi, but the Othahlan soldier took the Dekartan's explanation as angry and pointed his gun up at him, prompting the Dekartan soldier to take the gun and shoot him in the heart. The Othahlans and Dekartans opened fire on each other and when gunfire echoed through the streets, fighting began between Othahlans and Dekartans all over the city. The soldiers fighting in Oparu fight with honor and loyalty for Emperor Nagatako. Their mission, Take the Othahlan Oparu provinces in the name of the Dekartan Empire.

Early December 1939

Emperor Nagatako awakes to the sound of a radio going off in his room. He is on holiday east of XiZi. The guards standing outside of his door open the door to see what was going on but are waved off by the emperor. "Makashi to Nagatako" "General Makashi, it is 3 in the morning, you better have a good reason for this" "I do my emperor, Gujiya has won their war for independence." "Yes Makashi I am aware of this" "They have invaded Trandosha, my Emperor..." Nagatako sits in silence, with a mixed look of anger and confusion on his face "My Emperor?" "They have beat us to it. Makashi, mobilize the soldiers in Kayota, XiZi, and Vakarea, March north and south through Trandosha and claim all land not already in control of Gujiya, they are taking our prize as we speak. Trandosha has no military and are a strictly religious country, they will not fight back" "Yes my Emperor" Nagatako drops the radio and readies himself quickly to return to Fikotashi to address the public on the sudden invasion of Trandosha, within an hour a plane is already flying over Trandosha and back to Dekarta's capital.

Greetings Good Emperor,
When I heard of the invasion of Trandosha by the people of the Gujiyan Isles, I was shocked, and am most glad to see that you have put your military to good work by reclaiming Oparu from Othala, this is a continent for Araki people, not for westerners. Know that I stand behind your actions 100%, and if any trouble you, Acro as always, stands beside you. But another pressing matter has prompted this letter. For several weeks the merchants of my kingdom has suffered increasing numbers of sunk ships, and only after one managed to return alive did I learn the truth. Reichland has ordered the sinking of all my merchants vessels along with any ship flying the Acronese flag. Not only this but it seems like he has given the order to kill Acronese inside his country. You may have a trade agreement with the Landser people, but we are Akari, and we must stand together. We have always been a shining beacon of civilization and the absolute brutality shown by Chancellor Geisler is unacceptable, I request that you join us as I mobilize my forces, war is coming my wise friend. And the people of Akari must stand together.

My Emperor! I have a direct message from The Roman Intelligence Agency for your eyes only. Can't it wait I'm busy. My Emperor, The RIA intercepted a message stating someone is planning to attack Dekarta... Impossible, Who? and from where will they be making first landfall? My Emperor I can not be certain. Well if this ring true, then You shall put our military on the defensive in every square inch of the Empire, Baya Liris, Din'yan, Dailan Island, Fauxlung island, Vakuo (Vakarea), The Xizi provinces, Sanson, all of our bases in Shintenchi, and especially our protected mainland. Set up defenses along every beach and cliff side, line the islands with battleships, carriers, and submarines, AA guns in the cities and planes circling them at all times. Make this nation a floating fortress. No invader has stepped boots on our land and lived, make sure this stays true. I will inform the masses via radio, Dismissed. The informant bows and runs off to send word to his peers. The Emperor calls a press conference with active radio's transmitting on almost every frequency in the Empire.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and people of our divine Empire. Today I received word that may shock you as it shocked me. The great Empire of Dekarta was threatened by an unknown assailant. They threaten invasion of our islands, land that is rightfully Dekartan by history. Please, I ask all able body men to walk to you're local recruiting station, and join our empire in the fight to endure our right to rule and reign free. I ask of every woman to supply our nation well with the food and clothes we need to survive. I ask of every child to seek training in the ways of martial arts and weapon wielding. If this be true then the death toll will exceed the million man mark within a month if they get a proper foothold. But they will not. We will fight, my fellow Dekartans, In the streets and in the seas we will fight for our Empire. By the land we live on, the history we have made for our children to stand in awe and revel, by the blood of the men who fight to keep it this way every moment of the day as we speak, WE WILL FIGHT! Nagatako steps back from the mic as not only the room erupts in applause, but the nation. He walks out of the room and is told he has received a letter from his long time friend King Fabius. He knew very well what it entailed. And he knew war may come to his empire in more ways then one if he made the wrong move. He walks to his quarters to prepare a reply.

President Osborg was happy to accept the offer from King Fabious and ordered Avinaain troops supported by Ionian forces to launch an all out attack on Howe forces. Acronese troops then betrayed their allies and managed to capture President Howe and take him to the Government of Rome. The RIA then managed to intercept a message from an unknown ally of President Howe it stated that an attack on the homeland of Dakarta was in the works, President Osborg wanting to secure the support the Empire of Dekarta and so ordered the information to be shared with Dekarta only.

NEW IONIA
An Ionian Expeditionary Force of 250,000 Colonial Regulars, 100,000 Colonial Guards and 50,000 Marines, alongwith the Colonial Fleet Force and AIr Force Forces stationed in the colony attacked the Communist Revolutionary Forces in North New Avinaa. The news Keravnovolos Polemos (Blitzkrieg) tactics and modern equipment proved extremely effective. The better equipped colonial guard started qeighing down the Rebels. A fake retreat was staged and after the Communists started chasing Regulars and Marines, supported by Ships and Air Craft attacked routing them. Prisoners were executed or force to walk through the Great Ostmarshi Desert.

The Ionian troops started oushing southward. The navy enforced an embrago an areas held by the Rebels while the Air Force and Artillery bombed areas and cities held by them.

Early-December 1939:

Despite the best efforts of the Avinaan navy, a rebel blockade of the narrow strait at the mouth of Kochi Bay shuts down Bhai city. Battleships and destroyers sit idly at port without fuel. Electricity is provided to houses for only a half hour a day to keep enough for the street lights at the docks. The governor’s palace is desolate, as a plan to renovate its air conditioning system was halted due to lack of funds and fuel shortages. The governor, living in a guest house for foreign visitors, receives a knock at the door. His assistant runs to get the door, and returns looking worried.
“Well, what’s the issue? Who’s at the door?” the governor says tiredly.
“Let me bring him in, he may be able to better explain the situation.”, his assistant hurriedly manages to say. A few moments later, an army general enters the spacious living room. The governor motions him to sit down, but the general declines.
“What is the nature of your visit, general? Why was I not informed of your arrival?” the governor asks, visibly annoyed by the unannounced visit. A general arriving without warning was always bad news.
“I’m not sitting because I don’t intend to stay long. I’ll cut to the chase. I think we’re finished.”, the general says.
“What’s all that talk? Are you announcing your retirement?”, the governor exclaims. The general begins speaking at a frantic pace.
“You misunderstand me, sir. We have received reports that the eastern side of Kochi Bay is under rebel control. Roughly five to seven thousand men made their way by boat to Bhai from Manosh, and there are a few unconfirmed reports of other survivors of the battle. Combined with the fifteen thousand men we have stationed in and around Bhai City, and the roughly one thousand sailors that know how to fire a gun, we have about 24 thousand men at our disposal. The rebel forces approaching Bhai from the south number at least 75 thousand. We can’t call in reinforcements from New Colvin, because those boys are the only thing preventing the rebel force on this island from being over 150 thousand. Korthepare is marginally less strategically important than New Colvin, so it’s estimated that with the roughly 100 thousand rebels that left for Trandosha, we could maybe take another twenty thousand from Korthepare to bolster our defenses. There’s no guarantee that they wouldn’t be intercept…”
“Stop. Give me a moment to think.”, the governor interjects, looking visibly shaken. After a pregnant pause between the two men in the room, the general speaks.
“With all due respect, sir, I believe that the war is lost.” With our current forces, it isn’t poss...”
“That’s easy for you to say! You would get to go home a hero, while I don’t get such a luxury! I will not be remembered as the man that lost Gujiya! The man that rendered all the wars to keep hold over this territory pointless! The man that squandered any chance of civilizing this country for the benefit of Avinaa!” The governor points to his assistant, who had just entered the room. “Show our friend the general to the door, and inform the other generals that I want a meeting organized here in an hour!”
A meeting of the top brass confirms that what the general had said was true. The governor had to face facts, and the facts did not lie. The Gujiyan War was effectively lost. Just a week later, it was reported that the rebel advance had halted to allow troops from the captured city of Kikore to join the main group. After two weeks of heavy fighting in Bhai City suburbs, numerous civilian uprisings, and heavy bombing and strafing of docks, warehouses, and convoys, the rebel forces emerge victorious. The rebel forces marching into Bhai City’s main street are met with thunderous applause. The captured Avinaan troops at Bhai are loaded onto transports in anticipation of a formal end to hostilities. New Colvin is the only remaining Avinaan-controlled outpost, but with no support, no supplies, and surrounded by nearly 200 thousand rebel fighters on all sides, both sides agree that battling over the island would constitute an unnecessary loss of life. A request for peace negotiations is rejected, as Avinaa denies recognition of the independence of the Gujiyan Isles, but agrees to an armistice agreement. The agreement states that Avinaa must evacuate troops from all of the Gujiyan Isles except Colvia Island. Avinaa is also forbidden from using the port in New Colvin for military purposes, and doing so will equate to an act of war.
Festivities occur across the Gujiyan Isles. All 60 GNC chairmen attend the celebrations in Bhai, the first time all are present in the same location. A balmy December 15th is declared the Day of Victory by most Gujiyan Islanders, though many point out that the war has technically not ended, according to the definition of an armistice. The arduous task of nation building begins. The first act of the GNC headed government is the declaration that congressional members will commence once a census of the country is taken, and congressional district lines are drawn. It is anticipated that elections will occur in August of 1940. Among the GNC's promises are greater investment in new technology, infrastructure, and trade equipment upgrades, as well as a complete overhaul of the welfare system, and a crackdown on racial and cultural discrimination. The public is wary about the lack of transparency in government, and are worried that the country's first elections will be fraught with fraud.

Late December 1939:

Reports come flooding into the new GNC Headquarters that Dekartan planes are spotted above Gujiyan-controlled Trandosha, as well as numerous troop carriers entering Oparu and Dekartan Vakarea. Conflicting reports abound, but reports all agree that Dekarta has initiated a massive campaign in Trandosha. It is the decision by the defense committee that elections for congress be postponed, as the government enters emergency status. The GNC government releases the following statement, here paraphrased:

“The Gujiyan Isles recognizes Dekartan authority within its lands, and grants Dekarta the ability to engage in acts of war as it sees fit. Dekarta has been a supportive ally, and any Gujiyan government does not seek to belittle the influence Dekarta has had on the success of the Gujiyan Independence movement. The Gujiyan government believes that the invasion of Oparu should have been avoided, as it has led destabilization of one of its major trading partners, but accepts that Dekarta had laid claim to Oparu, and preventing the invasion would have constituted an act of war. However, recent actions taken by the Dekartan government in Trandosha are perceived by as antithetical to the Gujiyan governments own efforts in Trandosha. The Gujiyan government does not recognize the pretense for invasion provided by Dekarta, and views the recent incursions Trandosha as an act of defiance. As a result, the Gujiyan Isles will deploy 100,000 troops to Mainland Gujiya to support the already present force of roughly 80,000. The army will be split into three groups. The objective of the first group is to push north from Shenzhou to protect refugees from Shengshi and to protect Gujiyan trade interests in the region. The second group will push east from Shenzhou to contain Dekartan military incursions in the area, and to protect culturally significant artifacts and locations, as well as protect Gujiyan trade interests.The third group will head south from Shenzhou to counteract the Dekartan army moving north from Oparu. Addditionally, all Dekartan military advisors in the Gujiyan Isles will be placed under house arrest until the conflict is resolved. The Gujiyan government also calls upon Anquoraknia to utilize its naval base in the Gujiyan Isles to support the campaign in Trandosha, now formally known as Operation Broken Shield.”

The loss of the Gujiyan Isles was a significant development in the gradual collapse of the Avinaain empire, but Avinaa had more pressing things to deal with than try and suppress a rebellion in a little know group of tribal islands. The civil war was coming to an end. Ex-President Howe has been captured and his followers arrested by Acronese and Ionian forces, all but dooming the revolt in the homeland, but in New Avinaa the rebellion was alive and kicking. The rebels once at the brink of a shooting match suddenly snap back into line, they form the Supreme Rebel Alliance(SRA) and elect a man named Kristopher Lion as the Supreme Commander, while the National Congress will remain the political face of the movement the SRA will be its armed wing fighting Government troops.

After the first bloody riot in Corellia City, nationalist militias had ravaged Scandinavian troops and forced them back to the sea from which they came. Tanks, planes, and vast numbers of small arms left by the former occupiers were now in the hands of Corellian militias headed by Dorian and his supporters. The militias that had been denounced as rag tag peasants by many of the Federations leaders had instead proved to be dedicated, courageous and incredibly skilled at defeating a numerically superior and better trained army. Now with peace having come for now, Dorian was unanimously chosen as ruler. However despite wide spread popular support he refused to be crowned as king, and instead began instituting a republic, which he would be the first president.

In the short time he was president Dorian began instituting multiple reforms and began building a basis of government. He created a parliament consisting of 200 seats. And in quickly organized elections a party called Corellian Workers Party (CWP) won 115 seats, helped by the fact that many leaders of the CWP had been prominent leaders of the rebellion, including a close personal friend and well known rebel leader Leonard K. Dorian however was not a member of this party and instead joined the Corellian Nationalist Front (CNF) which won 65 seats. The remaining 20 seats were won by a collection of smaller parties (Monarchist Union [12], Socialist Party [5]Federation Loyalists [3])

To show unity between the two largest parties and as to pay respect to Leonards excellent organizational skills Dorian gave the post of Vice President to Leonard K. of the CWP. However it was not just to show unity that Dorian appointed a brilliant military leader to high office, but for the fact that despite Corellia having forced the Federation from its borders, they both knew that one day the Federation would return, and a united nation must stand against them.

Chancellor Tirpitz knows that Acro is undoubtedly contacting it allies requesting that they come to their aid in defending their homeland. He decided that he had better pen a short letter to his friends in Dekarta, assuring them that Reichsland had no quarrel with them. They were well respected allies, and hopefully they would stay that way. The following is a brief summary of the letter, which was full of the usual diplomatic jargon.

I am sure that by now you have received word of the Landser naval campaign against the nation of Acro, who at this very moment is undoubtedly contacting every nation around him in order to strike an alliance. I will say that to date our campaign has found much success, however the only reason that this was chosen as an option is because of Acro's uncooperative nature in returning our former colony back to our control. That is all Reichsland asked for and they were denied, and to make matters worse, I suffered an egregious attack on my personal integrity and character. I am sure that if such slander came against yourself then you would retaliate accordingly to strike respect into those who condescend and insult you. I have sent this letter to reassure you and the nation of Dekarta that the nation of Reichsland has no quarrel with you. I and all of the Landser view your nation and people with respect, and it shall remain so unless you choose to shatter the bonds that bind our nation together. The trade and research generated by our nations is greatly enjoyed and it would be a shame to lose such a lucrative agreement, that goes for both of us.

So I implore you to consider your options carefully, and weigh each one with the wisdom that is befitting only of an Emperor of Dekarta. I trust that you will not side with the Acronese in our conflict. I await your reply.

The Chancellor eagerly awaited the reply of the Dekartan Emperor, but right now there was more pressing business. Operation Tidal Wave was officially green lighted and Landser troops and equipment were being prepared to deploy. This end goal of this operation was simple...establish a foothold in the nation of Makria. Recent expeditions to the nation had revealed several oil deposits buried in the rainforests as well as large amounts of copper and gold. If Reichsland could take these reserves, then if would grant even more resources to fuel the Landser economy as well as finance any military campaigns that they might choose to pursue.

Tidal Wave would be Reichsland's first invasion on a foreign continent, and the military high command wanted this to go well. They would also be making use of a new type of soldier, the Fellschiltjager or paratrooper, as soon as Landser forces capture an airfield. The Order of Battle for the operation is as follows...

November 22nd, 1939

The soldiers and there equipment are packed tightly into the large transport vessels as they make their way across the choppy sea. The wind brought the smell of brine and seaweed to the noses of the men, and they could not help but feel a sense of smallness as they looked out across the open expanse of ocean. They took comfort in the fact that their sailor brethren commanded some rather powerful ships, and that their submariner colleagues had their back down in the deep dark recesses of the sea. They also felt a sense of pride knowing that they would be the first landser soldiers to step an invading foot in a foreign continent, and every one of them realized that failing would bring shame to Reichsland on the international stage.

They were two days away from the coast of Makria, and once the great battleships were in position to bombard the coastline, the first wave of men would go ashore to scout out any defenses that might be in place. Hopefully they would find little resistance, however that was hardly ever the case. If enemy positions were present on the coast, then the battleships would begin its barrage. This would be followed by another wave of men, and if they met little resistance then the rest of the force would come ashore. Some of the more wizened soldiers found themselves thinking of not their objectives during this mission, but of the reaction that the international community would have in response to their little excursion down south.

The operation proceeds as planned, and the units will arrive off of the coast of Makria in two days. Back in Weisiger, the Chancellor waits anxiously in his quarters. He is waiting not only of news from the soon to be battlefront, but also of news from other world leaders.

October 5th, 1939

On Thursday October 5th, the Chancellor signs a new decree into effect. It is known as the Reichsfestung Ordnung (Reich Fortress Order) or more simply Order 73. The order mandates that new coastal, offshore, and border defenses be constructed as well as the upgrading of existing structures and equipment. In addition to the aforementioned, it also calls for the construction of a more comprehensive radar network across the nation. Now that the old Hindenburg Line is back in control of the Landser, it will be used once again to pose a significant defensive barrier around Reichsand's landlocked borders.

These improvements will be completed using forced labor, which will significantly reduce the cost necessary to complete the project. Work details are already being commissioned in the concentration camps, and they will be under the direct supervision of the Reichswehr SS. The estimated completion date of the project is mid 1941, if progress is not impeded. The total cost of the project has not been released to the public, however initial funding is estimated to be between 20 to 35 million marks with incremental increases over the next two years.
As an addendum to the order, two new airbases are set to be constructed as well. One in Beiersdorf, in the northern tip of Reichsland, and the other in Jagarheim. These new airbases will be the new homes of the Fellschiltjagern battallions. These are slated for completion in late 1940, and once again they will make use of the newly found slave labor therefore reducing construction costs.

The new radar installations will implement a newer more accurate array developed by Goethe Energy Works at their research base in the Arctic. This new technology allows for increased detection range of both sea and air targets. The nation of Reichsland is preparing itself for another great war, for a war with the nation of Acro will be a great one indeed. If the other nations of the world choose to fight then it will not be merely another great war, but it shall be a magnificent spectacle of terrible beauty wrought with the blood of men, the charred steel of machines and the sorrow drenched tears of orphans and widows.

With tensions growing across the globe, Corentin Guiraud decides to fortify and renew Soverith's defenses. The old systems were formidable, yet not as well armed as most newer bunker systems. The Assembly called for a renewal of the Soverithian Air Force as well, because according to Five Star General Drahos Slavicek, air superiority in battle is key. The SDS, The Imperial Navy, and the SAF would be the largest operators of the new planes, should they arrive. At the moment, all the research teams had were blueprints and useless prototypes. However, one aircraft fielded by the previous regime was being worked on to serve for the defense.

Aside from that, another goal was achieved by the advance research program consisting of both Soverithian and Annopolite scientists. The plane would serve both Air Forces, and was never to be for export. Because it was such a great aircraft, it was used extensively against extremist forces in the North of Soverith and in the Southwest of Annopol.

Soverith's tank force continued to grow as the occurrence of another war came. By the time it did arrive, Soverith would have the largest operating tank force in all of Aysling. Research on new armored vehicles was constantly observe by the Prime Minister who seemed to like such weapons. He also took interest in the use of aircraft, but gave it less attention. His ground forces were to stand out amongst all other militaries. Lately, another descendant of the Strv-50 was given a chance. The Strv-50-II, was to serve as an even better tank killer than its predecessor which would definitely still be used thanks to its superior design.
