R/D is, IMHO, disruptive and rather dumb, and if a region wants out they should bloody well be left alone. Whole hearted support on this.

I do understand where the mods are coming from, I really do, but the answer tends to translate out as, "Nope, there can only be one special class, and that's the R/D people." When it threatens their game, it can't be done, when it threatens other's, they just have to buckle down. The statement half-way admits that the stance R/D'ing has is in fact, unfair, but that it's easier to have one sect being unfair than many being unfair.

I think an important realization to have is that any optimal solution is not going to be easy to achieve, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth trying to achieve. Fris does have a point. The moderation's job is to try and make sure they can get things as close to fair as possible, and as things currently stand, this is what they've come to... no matter how bad it is. This is precisely why it's important to have this kind of discussion open, so that we can try to reach some sort of redrawing of the system that has potential to be better than the one we have now. We do need to keep pushing for change, but we need to push in directions that keep in mind the challenges those responsible for executing the change are facing.

And that's what this is, because at the end of the day, the mods have the redtext and the banhammer and full access to the rulebook, while we're stuck on read-only.

Yet it will fall apart, like it has in the past. There will never be a RP Region Opt-out, and RP regions will begin to die. The best thing to do now is save all of your RP info and other things to your computer so you have them.
