Master Corporal Soloslav was still spraying his SAW down the hallway, not seeming to care that he killed a couple civilians nor noticing that there was a concussion grenade only two meters away from him. With a loud bang and a small puff of white smoke, the grenade went off and disoriented Soloslav. Dropping his gun on the ground and falling on his side, he covered his eyes with his hands and yelled a couple times. Fegelein was still being treated in the classroom, and the Lieutenant was probably too busy trying to mend his wounds.

Higgins fired at the collapsed LRAF soldier. Not shooting an unarmed foe was one of the many rules they were taught, however the rage that Higgens felt, not only for watching his friend get shot, but for watching innocent civilians get shot as well, pushed him past the point of honorable marine behavior. Approaching the rifleman, who now was bleeding quite severely, he kicked away the MK46 SAW. Bratford ran up behind him, hearing this, Higgins put his finger over his mouth, gesturing to be quiet. He indicated that there were two enemies in the room on the left.

Higgens stood beside the doorway, and beside him stood Bradford. Higgens mouthed, "Three, two, one, go!"

Higgens burst into the room, Bradford closely behind him. Noticing the injured man, they did not shoot at either LRAF soldiers immediately as they entered. "Drop all your weapons! Now! Hands up!"

"We'll we are fucked..." King mumbled to himself, his hands still putting pressure on Fegelein's wounds, who was also beginning to vomit up some blood. "Look, I'm just trying to help my comrade here! Here, take my knife! My rifle is on the table to my right! Just don't shoot! Please!!" King pleaded to the Marines, still putting pressure on Fegelein's pelvis. At this point, it seemed like he was most likely to die from severe shock and blood loss.

"Aw shit, Bradford, pat him down." Said Higgins, gesturing at the man who was holding the other soldiers wounds. Slinging his M4A1 around his shoulder, Higgins quickly grabbed his medkit and went up to the injured soldier. Sticking morphine into the opposite leg first, Higgins pulled out a pocket of antihemorrhagic to help stop the bleeding, and asked the Lossessian, "Do you know if it hit the artery?"

As Higgins worked on the injured soldier, Rays proceeded down the hallway, pistol in hand. There were moaning injured civilians scattered around the hallway, but what concerned her most was the dead marine in front of her. Kneeling beside him, she immediately recognized him as Zelman. Silently getting up, she looked in the adjacent room to see Walshe having a fit. He had thrown his helmet off and was curled up in the corner of the room, crying. "C'mon marine, get up. It'll be okay, just come with me." She said as softly as she could while having to speak over the hysteria breaking out all over the school.

"I- I told him we would make it out, that - that we would grab a beer after this or something. We signed up together you know? A whole new adventure, just like when we - we were kids."

"I know, but we still have our job to do. He did his job damn well, and would want you to do the same. You with me Walshe?"

He nodded, grabbing his helmet. "Let's go get this done."

Leaving the room, they heard Higgins' voice yelling something about keeping the pressure on it. Not another injured marine! Rays thought to herself. Entering the room, she quickly discovered that that was not the case, "Need anything Higgins?"

"No, but this one needs a miracle." he replied.

"What happened to your shoulder Staff Sergeant?" Bratford asked, pulling a sidearm out of the pocket of another Lossessian.

"Nothing too bad, but I'm going to need help soon."

Just as she finished that sentence, the sound of uh-60 Blackhawks filled the silence. Moments after, 16 Red Angels, the elite of the elite, barged into the building, each wearing their trademark insignia. Two of them entered the room.

"Staff Sergeant Rays, support has arrived. You and your men are to be escorted to the blackhawks, and the 16 of us will hold here until we have the proper resources allocated to evacuate all the civilians. We brought 2 doctors, but by the looks of things it's not going to be enough. Do you have anyone trained medically in your squad who can stick around for a few more hours?" Asked the heavily armed Neo-Libralian peacekeeper.

"Corporal Higgens can stick around, he's trained." She replied.

Having finished bandaging the leg to the best of his ability, he turned around, "Yes I can, ma'am."

"Alright, hop to it marines. You'll be taking these POWs too, I assume?"

Rays replied, "Yes, as well as another injured marine in the building. And Zelman, we'll bring his body back home." The Red Angel nodded, before turning his back and leading them out of the building. Bratford and Walshe carried the injured Lossessian to one blackbird, whilst Rays escorted the uninjured soldier.

Several more Red Angels brought out the near-lifeless body of Private Smythe, and helped him into the helicopter, along with three more severely injured civilians, and six injured children. They took off, leaving 16 soldiers to hold the school until either the city falls to the coalition, or a large rescue mission can be organized.

OOC: and with that, I'm done for the night, sleep is an important commodity I should really try out some time. That better have been all of the scouts, or else I'll feel like a complete idiot. I'll deal with any errors in the morning.

"Hahaha! That's another one Dimas!"
Shouted an ecstatic Cpt. Roux as he looked through the
Targeting visor of his M1A5 Main battle tank.
They had just finished decimating another Lossesin road block unit
And we're well ahead of schedule in clearing out the
Major highway and reaching the halfway mark to their
Intended destination of Zappado.

"Hahaha. What is that? The 10th?"

His driver Pvt. Maco replied lol naaaa, we killed
The 10th one three hours ago." He said in slurred and bombastic manner.
"Haha, whatever! All I know is we've got 'em pretty good and
I don't want to stop yet."

The unit was part of the 10th Armoured Battalion
And was one of the forefront ground units engaging the
Lossesins. They had spent the entire night and early morning
Pushing forward and we're now roughly an hour or two
Away from Zappado.

"'right! That's it for now!" Said a screechy voice on the radio.
"Command wants us to hold it here until the rest of the unit catches up.
They say it'll take 'em about an hour or two."

Despite being a bit irritated, the facts were the facts and Cpt. Roux replied "Roger!
With their night of 'debauchery' they had spent much of their HEAT and ATGMs
And were running on fumes. Any further progress would be 'inadvisable' at the absolute least.
And with the air units still taking out targets in and around Zappado, the resistance was still
Sure to be light.
"Alright. All units keep the .50s on stand by with explosive rounds for aircraft and
Those units with remaining flechette rounds do the same."
After saying this the unit the took a much needed and we'll deserved break till the rest of the force arrived.

200 miles north east, there was no time for geeks as the battle continued to rage.
Imperial Marines were busy racing down the roadways and engaging Lossesin armoured and
Infantry units along the way. The scene was chaotic as bullets and rockets raced across the speed way. The Iron Fist defence systems of the IAR tanks and IFVs continued To fire at RPGs and Tank rounds as the streaked low across the sky and troops scrambled for cover behind burnt out vehicles and bullet riddled medians along the street.
The furious sound of IARIN strike fighters constantly echoed across the sky
And with the cataclysmic sound of every bomb blast, brought a slight hint of joy to the steaming and sweat soaked faces of the Marines.
Slowly but surely, the Imperial Marines continued advancing, leaving behind a trail of destroyed Lossesin vehicles and lifeless, singed corpses.

In Lotep, the IAR forces continued to engage the enemy in a vicious and dogged scene of urban conflict. The Marines had taken to traversing the brownout metro system of city and took many key Lossesin positions and gaining much ground that way. Attack helicopters and drones were constantly overhead, saturating the enemy with 40mm rounds and precision guided munitions.
Slowly the Lossesins started to give ground and their defences in Lotep began capitulating.

Back at sea, the fleet was undergoing an arduous restocking mission, loading another 300 tomahawks and equipping more jet fuel and munitions for the air operations.
The spare parts which the ships carried were now being unloaded on the beachhead near Arnoldstein and Lotep and much of the space was being dedicated to extra munitions and amenitites.
Air operations were slow, but we're expected to pick up in the next 4 hours or so as the rearmament mission would cease. For now, the aircrews took to maintaining and repairing the aircraft and making the necessary calibrations to avionics and guidance systems.

As he stood on the bridge watching a team of repair personnel mindlessly
Toil away at fixing the air intake of a F-27, the Admiral was interrupted with his daily report.
So far the momentum was still great and the IAR ground forces were reporting numerous success.
Some units were awaiting their support units and ceased their advances and others were busy moving down the cratered roadways or entangled in battles in small towns or cities like Lotep.
In regards to the Lotep force, approximately 72% of the city was captured and
Casualties were "moderate". The IAR Imperial Marine Commander also estimated that they could claim the city and surrounding region by 4 PM today with "adequate" air support.

Reading this not the Admiral responded, "get the munitions and planes ready, tell the logistics corp to hurry the hell up, relocate available air units and begin focusing in western Pantair, and make sure to tell the field commanders to hold the momentum. I also want to speak with the Brigadier General."

Industrial area of Ratou, 21st Austzelandi Division - 5th Mechanized Infantry Brigade - Charlie Squad, 1:28 PM - 24/04/2014

Charlie Squad, along with November Squad, came to a halt in the industrial area of Ratou. They were all holding off an onslaught of about sixty enemies in a four way stop, maybe even more. Some small sandbag and barbed wire fortifications had been set up by the LRAF earlier on and had fallen into NADF hands as they were attacking. The real purpose of them holding off the enemies was because a convoy of several Navistar MILCOT support trucks were transporting equipment, ammo, and other means of supplies to a small FOB that had been hastily set up by friendly forces.

The area they were defending was quite complex. There were warehouses everywhere, some small factories, garages, and various other types of buildings one would find in an industrial park. Along with the infantry defending the position a T98MS Agila MBT was sitting back picking off any enemy vehicles, and occasionally making some shots against infantry squads. To top it all off, an MH6 Littlebird scout helicopter armed with M134s would sometimes come by and support the men on the ground, by engaging hostiles in the windows of buildings.

While most of the gunfire came from several Machinegunners with their M60s and Automatic Riflemen with their LSW Mares, there were still a ton of others firing off their N4A2 Carbines. The distinctive popping noise from Lossessian G3A3s and Galils could be heard as they were shooting at them, and the engine noise from the T98MS could probably be heard from at least two blocks away. One of the soldiers yelled to his Squad Leader. "Lieutenant! The convoy's almost done! We'll need to push up soon!" It was once again Master Corporal Jenko. "I realize that! We're gonna hold off for just a little bit longer and then we'll get our Agila to break through the wire fencing so we can get past! Just give it a second!" Most of the other men were yelling other things such as "Take that fucking guy out!" "Frag out! Frag out!!!" "They're moving up!!" All around, the situation was quite frantic.

Hopefully, either they would eventually find a Korongolese squad to link up with, or they would find the Austzelandi squad. Either way, it had to happen soon.

After a long and arduous campaign against the Lossesian forces in the cities of Zappado and Lotep. the IAR forces cheered and paraded down the streets as they had retaken the city.
Over the past few hours, numerous ground and Air assets which became available poured in to support the ground forces in each city and finally secured them after a heated battle which involved intense bombing and shelling of enemy positions and numerous squad and platoon level engagements from block to block in most of the districts.

As a sign of the cities' liberation, IAR forces hoisted up the Imperial American Republics flags in the bombed out city centres. Many men paid the ultimate price and a few civilians were found to be killed by enemy and friendly fire, but through these noble sacrifices and the tireless will to continue with their advance and rescuing the people of Pantaira, the IAR gained a significant foothold and helped in starting the massive Coalition counter offensive which was brewing.

Outside of the Cities, Fighting was still going on and IAR forces pushing through the major highways and other secondary streets were still caught in a bitter and relentless fight with the Lossesin forces. Most of the fighting had moved further west and as more and more Imperial Marines began pushing in from the shore, the lines became more and more conciliated in favour of the allies.

As of so far, 223 Imperial Marines, Imperial Navy Navy Seals and Imperial Air Force & Navy Airmen have been killed and another 138 wounded. 10 are missing and Armoured Command has reported he loss of 17 M1A4s and A5s, 25 M4s and M5 IFVs and numerous aircraft and drones; especially with the recent sieges in Lotep and Zappado.

The Commander of all IAR Ground Forces has ordered all IAR forces already on the offensive to continue westward and to continue advancing upon the retreating Lossesins while forces in urban areas hold their territory and establish themselves.
The Naval Air element is currently preparing to conduct Operation North Tide and with the resupply and rearmament finished, are more than capable of sustaining the operation.
Another 6 MQ-13 Recon drones are being prepared to depart from the naval vessels and scour the north of Pantaira for enemy strong hold and Supply & Command Hubs and the 30 manned aircraft taking part in the mission are having their refurbishments completed and are being fueled and armed

1st Armoured Battalion, 18th Mechanised Regiment - Industrial Area of Ratou, Western Pantaira
The 1st Armoured Battalion and the 1st Mechanised Battalion of the 18th Mechanised Regiment had successfully broken through the outer defences of Ratou several hours ago alongside allied forces. Casualties had been light, with fifteen killed in action and another twenty eight wounded. Now the dismounted Korongolese infantry, supported by main battle tanks and the infantry fighting vehicles that had delivered them to the battlefield, were pushing through the streets. The 1st Armoured Battalion had on its left flank the forces of New Austzeland, while the 1st Mechanised Battalion advanced on its right. Progress was slow, captured buildings had to be thoroughly cleared before the unit could move on, but it was steady. Allied forces were continuously pushing the military forces of Lossesin back. General Holland believed that victory was assured, and was already preparing two other regiments for an assault on Chernogorsk that would bypass Ratece entirely. He did not, however, wish to launch the attack prematurely. He recognised that Ratou had to be captured, or supplies would never be able to reach his forces when they moved on Chernogorsk. Ratou, then Chernogorsk, was his primary objective.

In Ratou, many kilometres from Holland’s headquarters at Main Operating Base ‘Artemis’, two squads of Korongolese infantry were advancing along a road on either side of a BCV-96AM Jaguar main battle tank. At the end of the end of the road, around three hundred metres away from the small unit, was a large warehouse which served as a distribution centre for a supermarket chain. Intelligence suggested that it was being used by Lossesin troops to store supplies. It was, therefore, an objective. The warehouse was surrounded by a chain-link fence with razor wire on top. The only gap in the fence was large gate which sat next to a guardhouse. “Sir, I do not see anyone in the guardhouse.” Corporal Samuel Deacon said as he watched the prefabricated structure through the M150 RCO optical sight fitted to his Sheffield Oxford Mk. 18 assault rifle. “I don’t like it, they would not leave the place unguarded.” He said as he lowered his rifle and looked towards his commander.

“Neither do I, but we cannot halt our advance across the city.” Sergeant Robert Parker replied as he walked over to the Jaguar main battle tank in the middle of the street. He struck the side of the vehicle twice with the butt of his rifle and then turned to address all of his men. “The rest of the company is advancing along streets parallel to this one towards the warehouse. Lieutenant Somerville will be very disappointed if we do not participate in the assault. We are just going to have to keep an eye out for the enemy as we move.” He said in a loud voice as the engine of the main battle tank behind him roared into life. The two squads and the main battle tank continued down the road towards the warehouse. The automatic riflemen, who could deliver the most firepower at a moment’s notice, were positioned at the front of the formation. Each soldier kept his rifle shouldered and cautiously walked forward, contact could be made with the enemy at any moment.

Contact was made two hundred metres away from the warehouse. “What the hell. Oh shit. RPG! RPG!” Private Bryan Stein shouted as a Lossesin soldier suddenly appeared in the guardhouse with an M47 Dragon anti-tank weapon. The man had been hiding beneath the window, waiting for the Korongolese soldiers to get closer. Stein desperately pulled the trigger of his light machine gun and a burst of 6.5 millimetre ammunition flew up the street to the guardhouse. He saw the Lossesin soldier drop to the ground without firing a missile at the Jaguar tank, and that was the last thing he would ever see. Lossesin soldiers hiding in a two storey office building on the right side of the street cut him down with rifle and machine gun fire. Their bullets smashed through his ballistic vest and his blood was splattered against the grey concrete wall on the left side of the street. He was dead before he hit the ground.

“Jesus, return fire!” Sergeant Parker shouted as rushed to a car parked on the side of the street and took cover. The other Korongolese soldiers did the same, firing their weapons as they went, while the gunner of the Jaguar main battle rotated the turret to the right to engage the enemy in the office building with his coaxial 20 millimetre autocannon. Tracers darted back and forth across the short distance between the Korongolese troops and the Lossesin troops. The Korongolese soldiers did not back down, every ten seconds or so each one popped out from behind whatever cover they had found and fired off a burst towards the enemy. Chunks of concrete and specks of paint erupted from the walls of the office building as Korongolese rounds slammed into it. An anti-tank missile, launched by another soldier with an M47 Dragon standing on the roof of the building, shot down towards the Jaguar tank. The radar of the Rapier weapon systems quickly detected the incoming missile, and less than a second later the remote weapon station on the turret roof of the Jaguar jerked upwards and fired off three 40 millimetre airburst grenades in rapid succession. The exploded around the missile, destroying it in mid-flight. Shrapnel rained down on the Korongolese soldiers, lightly wounding two of them. The man with the launcher was quickly taken down by one of the designated marksmen.

“This is Ironside Four, we can’t fire our main gun while you are in close proximity. Fall back and we will deal with the hostiles. We will deploy smoke to cover.” The crackled voice of the commander of the Jaguar main battle tank announced over the radio. Two of the tank’s smoke dischargers fired and soon the gap between the Korongolese soldiers and the office building was enveloped by thick white smoke. It did not stop the Lossesin soldiers from firing their weapons, who had a good idea of where the Korongolese soldiers were, but Sergeant Parker gave the order to fall back. The two Korongolese infantry squads moved back down the street to a position forty metres away from the Jaguar tank. Parker noted that five of sixteen men and women were missing. He knew what that meant, and looked back up the street desperately hoping that he would see some more soldiers appear. He could not see anyone or anything, the tank had been completely enveloped by the smoke. Suddenly there was a loud boom and a silhouette of the Jaguar tank momentarily appeared in the smoke. The Lossesin gunfire fell silent, only the noise of fighting in nearby streets could be heard. “Ironside Four again, we have cleared the building. You can now continue your advance.” The commander of the tank said over the radio. Sergeant Parker and his men did not waste any time and began moving back up the street.

As they reached the tank, the smoke began to clear. The entire wall of the office building was perforated with holes. Around the windows of the building there were dozens of small holes. It was clear they were caused by the small arms fire, they were not much bigger than a coin and did not penetrate all the way through the wall. Then there were larger ones, around the size of a man’s fist, splayed in a grid pattern across the entire wall. These were caused by a single canister round fired by the Jaguar main battle tank. 1200 tungsten balls had slammed into the office building at of velocity in excess of a kilometre a second, tearing apart the Lossesin soldiers inside. As most of the soldiers stared in awe at the damage, Corporal Samuel Deacon shouted “Medic!” at the top of his lungs as he rushed over to a fallen Korongolese soldier on the street. Private Jessica Grant was sitting against the concrete wall on the left side of the street. Deacon first noticed the pool of blood which had formed beneath her left leg, a Lossesin round had torn through her leg and shattered her kneecap in the process. He quickly applied pressure to the wound, which caused Grant to scream in pain. He then noticed that blood and some kind of fluid was dripping out of her ears. The overpressure caused by the firing of the tank gun had ruptured both of her ear drums. When the medic rushed over, another wound was discovered. The medic saw that the bottom of her ballistic vest was quickly becoming stained with blood. The two men worked to quickly remove the vest, and discovered that another enemy round had pierced Grant’s abdomen. The medic pulled her body forward, causing another burst of screaming, and saw that there was no exit wound on her back. He lay her back against the wall, and Grant calmed down again even though she was in constant pain. “Sergeant, call a field ambulance!” Deacon shouted as he continued to apply pressure to the leg wound, allowing the medic to do what he could to the abdominal wound. The hands and sleeves of both men were now thoroughly soaked in the blood of a women who had been fighting alongside them only a few minutes earlier.

Sergeant Parker looked over to his wounded subordinate, and the two men under his command who were attempting to provide her with assistance. The situation looked grim, he could see that Grant was growing weaker as her breathing was slowly becoming less noticeable. He doubted that Grant would survive, but he called for a field ambulance anyway over the radio. It would arrive in ten minutes. “I want you two to do everything in your power to keep Private Grant in the world of the living.” He shouted over to Corporal Deacon and the medic. He then turned to the other men and women under his command who watched silently, shocked by the scene before them. “The warehouse at the end of this street still remains uncaptured!” He shouted, quickly capturing their attention. “We have lost four good men and women in this firefight, and another has been severely wounded by the enemy. We must persevere in the face of the enemy because of this loss, or all those who have perished on the field of battle will have done so in vain. We must continue our advance across the city, and show the soldiers of Lossesin that we will not be deterred as a fighting force. I cannot promise that we will not lose anyone else in the battles that follow, but our continued action will provide meaning for their deaths. Let us move upon the warehouse and capture it with a renewed ferocity.” He said and the remaining members of the two infantry squads let out a grim cheer. With only ten soldiers, including himself, Sergeant Parker advanced towards the warehouse and joined in the assault being carried out by the rest of the company. The medic and Deacon remained with Grant as ordered.

Sergeant Parker’s unit and the Jaguar main battle tank accompanying them soon found themselves alongside a 180 strong Korongolese infantry force bearing down on the warehouse. Five BCV-98AM Cougar infantry fighting vehicles were providing fire support with their 30 millimetre autocannons as the Korongolese troops advanced against the Lossesin troops guarding the building. Overhead, A-10C Thunderbolt II roared overhead providing whatever close air support they could in the streets of Ratou. Due to the threat of civilian casualties, most of their support was delivered to gunfire from their GAU-8 rotary cannons. The rest of the 18th Mechanised Regiment was advancing across the city in a similar manner to Parker’s unit before it had encountered the enemy. Similar encounters to the one Parker had just had were a common occurrence across the Korongolese frontline in Ratou, though casualties were normally fewer. For the United Provinces Armed Forces, it was the first major battle of the conflict. The Lossesin troops in the country, though outnumbered and outgunned, were determined and it quickly became apparent that the war would be very bloody.

West Ratou, Building known to the RIC(Ryccian Intelligence Center) by its Ryccian codename, Warspot...
"Okay, you ten come with me. The others, with their orders and groups". General Mantos was in his group, Group South Tower A2, which comprised of 10 soldiers and 2 medics. "Here, we are in Warspot. Go to that window over there and start shooting with your sniper, Gonzalez". "Okay, I'll get into position, chief". Gonzalez aimed and shot a Lossesin Soldier on the head and went out of the window. "Okay, I killed 1 enemy chief. Just as ordered. Without suspicions". "Good. You, Marcin. Look at that little hole in there and see what's happening". "Yes chief. Oh my gosh! They killed another civilian!". "Oh no. Well, what are we going to do about it". "But the civi...". "Shhsh! Okay, so here's the plan. We move through the streets, seeking shelter to shoot. Now, let's go. This street is now dominated by Coalition Troops so we'll go to the other street, in codename, Fire Street". "Okay chief. Let's go". The group moved to the street in codename, Fire Street to show up to attack the LRAF Troops.

OOC: Everyone, please read.

I will sadly be unable to make any posts this weekend until Sunday afternoon, since I will be going to a camp for Cadets.
I may or may not be able to moderate at particular times as I am there, but I will for sure not be able to make any RP posts. I hope you understand. By all means, keep posting. Thanks.

OOC: This has been going on for far too long now, gonna end this here.

2nd Royal Fusiliers Division - 1st Infantry Brigade - Command Squad, Northeast Ratou - Western Pantaira, 8:43 PM - 23/04/2014

Night had just about fallen on Ratou. Out of the 3300 LRAF soldiers defending Ratou, 496 had been killed, and 925 had been wounded. Rubble from destroyed buildings and other structures, mostly by some forms of explosives and wreckage of vehicles on fire littered the streets like a landfill, and in some area bodies littered the streets. As usual, the commanding officers that were organizing the battle were refusing to back down; in accordance with a long lasting Lossessian tradition. However the men being commanded by them didn't even dare to questions their orders, as that could most likely land them in a ton of pain. The situation so far however, was looking like a lost cause.

In the basement of the Ratou town hall, an entire FOB had been set up, radios and everything. Although bombs were constantly dropping and gunfire could be heard from over 4000 meters away, everyone was mostly continuing their own business. However, in the main command room, a situation was arising. Over the radio Gunsche was handling, a voice could be heard even from across the room. "Surrender? Never! That's shameful! Two god damn months ago, you defended many towns from those pricks, and you sure as hell are going to defend this town until the last drop of blood comes out of you! In the short time you have left as commander, you are never going to surrender! I will have you shot if you disobey my orders, you hear?"

The operator, Captain Kanareth, replied; yelling back at the commander on the other side of the radio. "It's for the sake of our men! Why the HELL am I taking orders from a fool like you either way? You're god damn crazy if you think we can still defend this hellhole of a town!" Everyone else in the room simply stared in silence at the fight that was currently going on in this room. "I fucking repeat, I am not taking any more foolish orders from your ass anyways! Consider me as a bloody defector if you wish!" Kanareth nearly punched a button on the ham radio in front of him and turned around in his office chair. "Everyone, get on the radio channel for all soldiers in the town." One of the men stammered while attempting to ask why, shaking uncontrollably in his chair. He must've been afraid of what would be done to him if he were to be caught for some reason. "B... b... but why sir? Why?" Kanareth replied, calming down for once. "We're surrendering." Almost instantaneously, one of the other captains rose from his chair and pulled up his M1911 pistol with an angry look on his face. "Then I must kill you. The President forbids any surrender!" Right as he was about to fire at Kanareth, one of the Lieutenants behind him at the time grabbed his arm right as he pulled the trigger, and a loud bang rang through the make-shift bunker. Everybody simply stood around, in both silence and awe.

After about ten more seconds of silence, Himmler put the handgun under his mouth and quickly fired. "Everyone god damn order your men to surrender. Tell the Coalition forces operating in Ratou that we've lost this battle." Everyone turned, or walked back to their locations and continued with their business as two medics carried out the deceased captain.

ATTENTION ALL COALITION FORCES IN RATOU! ATTENTION!

This is a message from the Lossesin Republican Armed Forces in Ratou, 2nd Fusiliers Division.
We would like to officially surrender our remaining 1879 soldiers. Although this is an extremely dishonorable decision we have made, your forces have bested ours. Defending this town is more like a lost cause so far, and we have ordered all our men to cease fire and drop their weapons, and at the same time raise their white flags. We certainly hope you understand us.

14km from Tarvisic.

With the situation in the east coast being handled by the other Coalition Forces, the Countesian army marched from the liberated city of Podagorsk and towards the city of Tarvisic, which still was occupied by Lossesin forces. The plan now was to help liberate the south of the country and eventually force the Lossessin troops to flee to the capital, where presumably a large scale siege involving the entire coalition would take place.

Unfortunately for the soldiers, Lossessin had gone on the offensive, and clashes with resistance had claimed the lives of 4,111 men and over 50 vehicles had been wrecked. These casualties had mostly been caused by artillery, since it seemed the enemy couldn't handle the losses of drawn out skirmishes. However despite their tries to avoid loosing more manpower, naval support balanced out the losses, with equal damage being dealt to the Lossessin army.

25 Km from Zappado, 3rd and 4th Marine Brigades/1st Marines, Operation Late Strike:
Operation Late Strike would consist of 4,000 U.S.D Marines from the 3rd Brigade/1st Marines and 4th Brigade/1st Marines attacking the LRAF occupied city Zappado. The marines had been in Aronldstien for at least a week before moving south through coalition controlled territory, Till they where exactly parallel due west of Zappado. They had seen limited action due to arriving in the nation later in the conflict. A total of three marines had been wounded so far in skirmishes with LRAF soldiers who had held out.

Avenger Stealth Drones and RQ-7s had been flying recon on Zappado and the surrounding areas for some days, Also SNC and Marine Force Recon operatives have been doing the same thing. They would attack the LRAF forces when land ops commenced, Collecting enemy troop positions, facilities, etc. They numbered forty.

Once at there positions the first phase of the operation started one E-3 Sentry and one E-2 AWACS flying near Zappado in coalition controlled airspace began jamming LRAF radar and electronics. Then artillery mobile HIMARS and M109A6s and the M777s began to pound lightly held LRAF positions near allied controlled territory using mostly precision guided munitions, With them AH-1Zs and marine and navy fighter jets, F-35Bs, F/A-70s, and F-35Cs, All 5th generation began there bombing further west on Zappado joining Emarian Republic jets in there attack on the city to the south, Twenty F/A-18Es kept the air above the naval task force in control. The Avenger Drones with there strike capabilities where tasked with taking out known officers of the LRAF forces in Zappado. While twenty marine F-35Bs and twenty F-35Cs began precision striking any enemy positions inside Zappado, The other twenty marine F-35Bs and twenty navy F-35Cs and begun precision striking any reinforcements coming into or advancing to support the LRAF soldiers already there. They also would help strike area's marine choppers would land later on in the operation.

Next, the land component started. As mechanized infantry marines came rolling west towards Zappado using the highway and off road capabilities much of the way they're was already struck by aircraft or artillery. The mechanized component of the marines used LAV-25s, LT90A1s, M1A2s, ABVs and L-APCs, Very fast and maneuverable vehicles with enough armament to protect themselves, Especially the M1A2s. They would employ a new weapon, Pysch Ops using speakers on there vehicles, Convincing enemy forces to surrender not fight. In there support where twenty marine AH-1Zs. The main body would consist of M-Raps and logistical vehicles. Mobile artillery will also be in the main group ready to support marines at any moment. A series of logistics bases and medical hospitals would be set up as the move along. Not to mention the Hospitalship USDS Revive and Northdiego Coast Guard hospitalships CNS Sadie Roulston and CNS Shenandoah. The hole land attack force accosts for 1,800 marines and 180 naval personnel.

At the same time about half of the total marine forces, The air component would head to two positions 25 kms north and 25 kms south of Zappado to attack the LRAF forces from the north and south. The southern force would link up with Emarian troops already attacking the city. While the north force will set up a firingbase centered around twenty M777s that will provide firing support for the north force as they move into the northern portion of the city. Transporting them will be twenty V-22s and twenty Ch-53Ks, Supported by twenty F/A-70s. The north force accounts for 1,200 marines and the south force 1,000, Totaling 2,200 marines and 220 naval support personnel .

OCC: Sorry, I usually do a first person style of writing. But here is how my nations operation on Zappado is going to look like.

Postby New Korongo » Mon Apr 28, 2014 7:03 pm

3rd Attack Squadron, 18th Tactical Operations Group - 30 Kilometres South West of Chernogorsk
General Holland, the supreme commander of PANFOR, was surprised by the outcome in Ratou. He had incorrectly assumed that the Lossesin forces in the city would withdraw temporarily before returning to confront Coalition forces, rather than surrender outright. As a result of this, the two mechanised regiments which he planned to attack Chernogorsk with were not fully prepared for combat operations. It would take another hour for these regiments to depart from their bases, and then it would take several more hours for them to reach Chernogorsk. He could not use the 18th Mechanised Regiment to assault the city either. They had lost some eighty men and women in Ratou, and had their hands full dealing with the Lossesin prisoners of war who would be flown to prison camps in New Korongo. The air units assigned to PANFOR, however, were ready for action. Holland decided that he would use them to soften the defences at Chernogorsk until the two mechanised regiments arrived. He had dispatched forty SF-27 Thunderstorm air superiority fighters, twenty A-10C Thunderbolt II ground attack aircraft, and forty Type 20 Ghost tactical strike aircraft to bombard Chernogorsk from the air. This force of aircraft had taken off almost half an hour ago from bases in New Austzeland and were now thirty kilometres south west of Chernogorsk and closing on the city fast. He had also ordered a smaller force of twenty EADS Barracuda unmanned aerial vehicles to be deployed ahead of the main aerial force to provide targets. These small grey jets, controlled by personnel at Main Operating Base ‘Artemis’, now circled five kilometres above the city. Several military targets had already been spotted in the city below.

“All aircraft, this is Artemis Control, our operators have spotted a number of ‘Gainful’ surface to air missile systems along with associated radar systems in the city. Thermal imaging also indicates several observation posts surrounding the city, similar in nature to the one which guarded Ratou.” The crackled voice of a man announced over the radio. Squadron Leader Edward Holst, the commander of the 3rd Attack Squadron which operated all of the Thunderbolt II ground attack aircraft heading towards Chernogorsk, did not recognise the voice. It did not matter though, this stranger had authority. “Curtana Squadron, engage and neutralise the enemy air defences. Valkyrie Squadron, destroy the observation posts surrounding the city. Our operators will paint them for laser guided ordnance. Claymore Squadron, intercept any hostile aircraft over the city and the area surrounding it. Over.” The main said, explaining what each unit should do. ‘Curtana Squadron’ was actually two squadrons, both of which operated the Ghost tactical strike aircraft. ‘Valkyrie Squadron’ was Holst’s own squadron operating Thunderbolts. ‘Claymore Squadron’ was, like Curtana Squadron, was composed of two separate squadrons which operated the same aircraft type. In this case, the Thunderstorm air superiority fighter which could easily outmatch the Eagles, Skyhawks, and Mirages operated by Lossesin.

“Artemis Control, this is Valkyrie One. Understood, engage and destroy the observation posts surrounding the city. Valkyrie One, out.” Squadron Leader Holst replied over the radio, indicating to Artemis Control that his unit had received their orders. As he reached down to change frequencies, he heard a roar in the sky above his Thunderbolt II. He looked up through his canopy and saw trails of smoke beneath the wings of the Ghost tactical strike aircraft. They had already detected the emissions created by the Lossesin radars which guided the 2K12 Kub surface to air missiles and had launched a salvo of AGM-88E AARGM anti-radiation missiles. ‘Damn, that was quick.’ Holst thought to himself as he completed switching frequencies to the one used by his squadron. “Valkyrie Squadron, this is Valkyrie One, we are to engage the observation posts around the city. Each one will be painted by unmanned aerial vehicles operating above the city. Follow me down to the deck and then we will break off to engage separate targets when we come within range of the city. Valkyrie One, out.” He ordered as he shoved his control column forward and sent his Thunderbolt II into a dive towards the ground. The nineteen other pilots of his squadron followed suit and descended far below the Thunderstorms and Ghosts. The twenty Thunderbolt IIs levelled out near the ground and proceeded towards the city at low altitude. Within five minutes, they would be engaging the enemy.

Each aircraft type which had been deployed to attack the city had been loaded with a different payload based on their traditional roles and what was likely to be encountered in Chernogorsk. Each A-10C Thunderbolt II was equipped with two IRIS-T short-range air to air missiles for self defence, two LAU-61 rocket pods carrying nineteen Hydra 70 rockets each, four GBU-12 Paveway II laser-guided bombs, and three AGM-65K Maverick air to surface missiles for armoured targets. Every Type 20 Ghost tactical strike aircraft was armed with two IRIS-T missiles, four AGM-88E AARGM anti-radiation missiles which had already been partially expended, and four GBU-31 GPS guided bombs for use against the surface to air missile launchers themselves as opposed to the radars which guided them. The Thunderbolt IIs and Ghosts would operate at low altitude against ground targets. If they had any ordnance remaining after destroying their main objectives, the UAV operators would guide them to attack other military targets. The SF-27 Thunderstorm air superiority fighters, which would operate at a higher altitude than the Ghosts and Thunderbolt IIs, were equipped for an air to air mission. Each one was loaded with two IRIS-T missiles and five MBDA Meteor beyond visual range missiles. They would provide cover the other Korongolese aircraft in the air.

Operation Spearhead
22:21 hrs, Zappado
USD aircrafts have joined with the ERAF aircrafts to bombard the city as ground units from south and the north surrounding the trapped LRAF forces in Zappado. Emmrian M-1 Abrams and LAV-25s in the center continues to hold their positions to prevent any means of escape between New Skooma and Zappado. Joining with the USD, the 3rd Mechinized Battalion spreads out to engage the trapped LRAF forces in Zappado, taking the south side of the city as the USD forces closes in at the north.

Battle Captain: Command, the USD ofrces have joined with our military in Zappado.
Command: I see, very well then, have 30 tanks from the battalion surround the city and the LAVs move in to eradicate enemy force, if surrendered, dont not execute, bring them out of the combat zone alive.

As Command gave the order, 45 M-1 Abrams halted south side of Zappado, spreading across the boundaries of the city as the LAV vehicles moves into the city, bringing out infantry units to engage the LRAF.

22:32 hrs, New Skooma
While the 120th Armored Battalion closes in at Zappado, the Emmerians started to move in at New Skooma. The 120th Armored Battalion moves west from the blockade between New Skooma and Zappado to cut off and escape and supply routes towards each other. 20 V-22 Ospreys flies above New Skooma as anti-air guns fire upon them. 6 Ospreys were shot down, killing 48 Army personnel while the rest landed southeast of the city and departed immediately to avoid any further losses of aircraft. ERAF F-35A fighters continue to provide cover fire for the squadron of 14 QA-10 drones to strafe-n-run targets marked by Emmerian Ranger special forces.

Gover: Command, we have Lossesin tanks firing on Granite's position. Requesting fire mission!
Command: Solid copy, Delta Seven, the air corridor is clear for our QA-10s to commence gun-runs.
Valkyrie: Delta 7, this is Valkyrie 2-6. In the airspace and at your service. Standing by for you to mark the first target.
Gover: Hit the tank on the street!
Valkyrie: Solid Copy, beginning strafe n run, better duck your heads.

Valkyrie coordinates the drones towards Gover's position as 3 QA-10 drones lighten up at the Lossesin tanks, destroying 5 in the process as 4 F-35As drop JDAMs at the building marked by Spec ops for enemy positions. As aircrafts flies above the city, 53 M-1 Abrams and 21 LAV-25s rolls in to take the city, spreading widely to avoid concentrated fire.

Somewhere in the Wilderness of Western Pantaira, 13th Infantry Division - 75th Seraja Highlanders, 4:29 PM - 30/04/2014

A fireteam from the 75th Seraja Highlanders sat in a dried out river bank with in the mud, grass, and even snow. In front of them was a hill covered in both knocked over and in tact trees, even more snow, and more mud and grass. The area they were operating in was recently hit by an onslaught of snow, unusual for the time of year but normal for the area. Being assigned to attack a hostile camp near the mountains sure as hell wasn't fun, but it was necessary. They had earlier staged their miniature base near an abandoned wine farm, fitted with medical tents, command centers, and other means of assets. Unlike most other divisions in the NADF, the 13th ID were one of the first to gain the CXM-40 Assault Rifle in a program to replace the N4A2 Carbine, which has been in service with most divisions for about 15 or 16 years.

"Yeah, we've seen a team of about fifteen of those boneheads. They've got an antenna up and running, a large tent, some old camping tents and a Pinzgauer parked in a camouflage net. They're mostly armed with LAR89s and they even got a four man patrol around the camp." a man spoke over the radio of Lieutenant Brotislav. "Okay. Thanks. We'll send two squads to attack from either side and investigate the area. Over." Some of the men were putting on their face paint, although most were sitting down in the mud. One of the Corporals was eating an energy bar. "OK, everyone eyes and attention here!" The fireteam's eyes almost instantly shot towards Brotislav. "The recce team's done their shit, now's our time to attack. Sergeant Nivvin, you're gonna be leading Bravo, while I lead Alpha. If you need me, my call-sign will be 1. Nivvin's call-sign will be 1-2. If you have any questions, sucks to be you. Should've asked them in the briefing. Oh, and one thing. Do NOT fire unless I give you the god damn order to. Got it?" All of the men said agreed in a quieter tone of voice. Stealth would be heavily utilized in this mission until they went loud.

Everyone stood up and wiped off dirt and snow off of their clothes. Their weapons had already been readied. Alpha went to go straight up the hill, while Bravo went around it. The soldiers were all wearing their typical gear, but all of them wore winter clothing, warmer gloves and toques under their helmets. Alpha, the ones who had to go through the worst terrain so far, were practically forced to side-step in the mud and snow. Even though they did this, slipping and almost falling was common.

Finally, Alpha had made it to the top. Brotislav ordered his squad, which was currently in a column formation, to take a knee. "Aight men. Listen. We seriously need to be as quiet as god damn possible right now. They could only be about seven hundred meters away by now, and they may still have that patrol going. After we pass this fence we're using stealth. Yes?" Everyone in the squad quietly acknowledged. Approaching the barbed wire fence, Brotislav held the middle wire up with his left hand and pushed down the bottom wire with his foot. The entire squad of nine men went through, and he went last. Most of the razors on the fence were rusty, since they were at least 30 or maybe even 50 years old.

Fallen over branches scattered the forest area, most of them covered by snow. They didn't seem to cause too many problems, but every now and then one of the men tripped on a branch. Suddenly, Brotislav raised his hand with a fist, and afterwards made it go flat and go down. Everybody did the same in a chain reaction, and immediately dropped to the ground. "Got movement ahead! Possible hostile!" he alerted the squad in a quiet voice. Immediately he pushed down the speak button on his radio and spoke. "Bravo, we have eyes on enemy. Are you in position yet? Out." It took about five minutes for an answer from Bravo. "Fuck! Help us! God damn help us! Special F- AHHH!!" All he heard was a scream, and then static. "Fuck!" He wanted to yell, but he simply couldn't. He heard Sergeant Moj say special. But why? He gave out an order for everyone to continue watching the enemies they had just spotted. Despite the snow and temperature not being terribly cold, it still was a nuisance to the men.

It took at least twenty minutes for Brotislav to order his squad to move again. This time, they moved back. If at all possible, he wanted to avoid confrontation. Everyone crouch ran back onto the hill they were last at. Turns out, the camp wasn't as far as they thought it would be. In fact, it was only about 50 or 90 meters away. This could quite possibly be a problem.

Lieutenant Brotislav radioed the HQ they had started at to report what the situation was like and in less than a minute they got a response. "Copy that, we acknowledge. Possible POWs take-" Brotislav instantly tried to turn down the volume of his radio, but accidentally shut it off. The volume was at its highest level, and could probably be heard at least twenty or thirty meters away.

The LRAF team was most likely coming for them already, and they could quite possibly be the 2nd Red Knights. The 2RKs had training identical, if not better than the infamous Russian Spetsnaz GRU, truly making them one of the best SOF groups in the world. He knew what was right for his squad at this time, or at least he hoped he did. "Everyone, spread out in groups of two. Stay the absolute fuck away from that camp and only engage if spotted or fired upon. Understood?" Everyone seemed to be scared out of their minds, but they all nodded in agreement either way. Soon after everybody went into their groups. Most of them went with their friend, some didn't.

Brotislav got on his radio, and attempted to call the HQ. Absolutely nothing. Did the 2RK just attack them somehow and wipe them all out? "This is just looking more and more like a shit storm each minute..." Bratislav thought to himself. "Uhh... sir? Shouldn't you do a radio check on the groups?" his wingman, Egri, informed him in a quiet vocie. Corporal Egri was the machinegunner of the fireteam, and was armed with an M60E4 GPMG. "Well, I suppose. I can just bet you that at least one of the groups ignored my orders and went directly into the god damn camp. I can just bet." Brotislav radioed in to all of the groups, and all but two actually replied. Continuously attempting to get a response from the two, there seemed to only be three groups left. "Don't god damn move, you shit. " A voice came from behind both Egri and Brotislav. Behind them were two LRAF soldiers, both pointing HK53 rifles at them. They seemed to be wearing tiger stripe camouflage, and gear one would see on a Somalia-era U.S. Delta Force soldier. Sure enough, they were the 2nd Red Knights.

"Who the fuck are you bitches? Why are you here and what are you-" Egri attempted to ask and taunt the men behind them, but got cut off with a shot to the opposite side of the heart in the chest. Then, Brotislav felt a surge of pain in his neck, along with what felt like a plastic buttstock of a weapon.

The C-110 transport plane flew in a scattered formation overhead. Inside sat Century II of the Sixth Cohort, Legio XLIV Tonitrua Airborne. The soldier sat, wearing their unique uniforms, carrying a large load of equipment, including specialized ACS-6 assault rifles, and PIL-V carbines.

The dark interior of the plane's troop bay was illuminated by a crimson light. The paratroopers stood up, and made a ready turn to the bay of the plane.

The jumpmaster, standing at the end of the bay, shouted out: "Equipment check!"

The paratroopers began to check that the soldier in front of them's gear was all ready, and good to go. They then turned around the other way and checked the other's gear, making sure everyone got checked and more thoroughly.
A dim orange light shone now, indicating little time was left. The men then faced back towards the door, preparing to go.
"All ready?" Asked the jumpmaster.
"AYE!" was the general response.
The sound of hissing air escaping the troop bay was heard as the bay door opened, revealing a grassy landscape, relatively untouched by war.
The orange light retreated, and the green light shined.
"Three, two, one!"
"GO!" The jumpmaster yelled, urging on the men, doing windmills with his arm. The men, one by one for row, ran to the exit, jumping out of the plane. In front, behind and around them, the men in the other planes did the same. A mass of green parachutes opened up, as a huge delta-formation of F/A-008 Peregrine fighters and A-9 Boar attack planes bolted in below them, opening up to distract anti-aircraft fire. Both wings eventually split up, and went separate ways to engage targets. Thankfully for that ingenious tactic, the airborne were spared.

The paratroops landed in an open area, as the Boar aircraft dropped a heavy smokescreen to the front of the troops, as Caestus helicopters flew in to deposit the vehicles the troops would need, including M82 Taurus tanks, Pylon IFVs, and general purpouse vehicles such as the PTTV.

****

Centurion Aurelius Vicorus paced back and forth, his right hand to his helmet's communications uplink, with command, listening to orders, about the request for the A-9's to make another smoke drop to reorganize, which was denied.

"Negative on last. Riverine assault teams are already in place, they will sustain casualties if position is held. Carry out, over."

The Centurion cursed, and moved his way through a weave of tanks being rolled off their platforms to his Century, in a huddle, across the large field which looked like a military picnic area. If you counted different shades of green for checkered pattern colors, of course.

He quickly put his hand to his helmet again, relaying to his superior Centurion; "Six Actual, this is Six-Two-One. Request information regarding CE/CO op, over."
"Roger that, Six-Two-One. CE/CO up for discretion by OPCO, we're going by CO. Over."

"Roger that, Six Actual, acknowledged, will comply, over."

"All callsigns, operation is a go, repeat, REDCON 1, move out, over."

The smoke up front began to fade, as a few Taurus tanks increasingly fast rumbled towards them.

"Go time." Decanus Leo called from the Century.
"Alright, gentlemen, let's hustle!" The luckier men got to ride on the powerful Taurus tanks, although bearing the jet engine housed in it's rear was less than pleasant, it kept them from having to run along the tanks. The others ran alongside the tanks, as the massive force began to enter the city.

Radar Station Echo - Tarviso - Pantaira, 03/05/2014 - 5:00 PM

"Sir, I got some squares on my screen. All are orange. Can you check on the situation and see if those dumb shits from the Fusiliers are doing their usual again?" Lance Corporal Kaz, the operator of the L87N/890 Ground/Air Radar System asked the commander, Sergeant Himmler. "Aigh'. I'll bet you anything that you're right, heh." He got on the radio attached to the control panel in front of him, dialed some numbers into a keypad and held down the speak button. "Unknown contacts, this is Falcon 1-1. Please identify your allegiance, division, and so on. Out." Right after he said that, Kaz spoke again. "Uhhhh.... sir, they're entering the city. What should we do?" Kaz began sounding worried. "Just give it a second. I'm waiting for a damn reply from these idiots." Himmler replied. Nearly everyone in the station was getting worried by now. "Unknown contacts, this is Falcon 1-1. Identify your allegiance and tell us what you are doing right now. Out." Himmler began getting angry. Putting down the radio, he began dialing a different number. "Any units in the south and south-east area of the city, unknown contacts entering the city. Either the Fusiliers or enemies. Just prepare some defenses. Out." His idea was that they would be attacking from those directions, if they were to be enemies.

"Attention, Falcon 1-1, this is the Legatian Imperial Armed Forces. I suggest you stand down, or else you'll be obliterated. LIAF forces are moving into the city, and will not hesitate to return fire."
