Hang on, The smallest eyes are still around 20 miles across. If the map you gave is the right scale than the eye would cover all of Little Kiska, and a fair portion of the main island. The eye would be the size of about a quarter of the map. If Little Kiska's in the middle of the eye, then we have about twenty minutes until the eyewall hits Little Kiska.

I know, I mean we're dropping near the center.

I was going to post but I decided to nap. Stupid me however, watched five nights with freddy's and now I can't sleep. So I'll post.

I'ts of the Kiska sub-group of the Aleutian island chain.

Other names of the island are Tanadak island, and Little Kiska.

Prominent RL locations are: Nazi Creek, Neck Lake, Newlin Ridge, New Lakes, Yug Cove, Loin Cove, Beaver Inlet, and Orient Point.

I'm figuring we're going 'backdoor' from Yug Cove/point to Navy Cove to north.
*Exactly 1260 meters to our north.

This means that Seken nearly landed as far away from the rest of his squad as he is from the objective, and very nearly landed in the Pacific Ocean.

I know what it's called and I saw the names of the locations on Google maps, but I can't find a detailed map of it anywhere online. The best I can find is the one Emmeria linked, but even in that Little Kiska is only about 150 pixels long. Have you found something better?

Only other way is to tip-off/pay-off someone to send a high-end spy-sat to cartography the place. Pretty sure those Global Hawk pilots gonna get bored someday...
-Sadly, Little Kiska actually already has such sat-maps... There just REALLY isn't anything there, just a lone hut (the black speck at Orient Point) and some rusted munitions along Newline Ridge.

Devoting 150 pixesl to the place is actually pretty good, as that's only 20 meters to the pixel.

Got a post in even during my busy welcome/move in weekend.

NEC said I can haz drone, so I will make full use by using one of he heaviest drones in the URA arsenal, the N2 Rhino. :P

The logic was, that when the storm picks up, airborne drones would be destroyed, and wheeled drones would be swamped, so a nice legged drone with heavy ordnance and a cover plate on its side would go nicely with the team.

Upside: Drone can be mobile cover, drone an go nearly anywhere, drone has big weapons, drone has onboard camera with several optical functions(NVG, Thermal, Optical, Scope), is heavily armored.

Downside: The drone is slower due to it's mobility type, the drone is not independent and must have commands for anything other than finding a safe route to follow the team, it has issues with hiding, have I mentioned it's not agile?
By any means necessary. Call me URA

Other downside, is since it weighs nearly three tons when caked in mud,and because we'll likely exfiltrate on assault-boats of one sort or another, will have to be rigged with a demolition-charge.

You will not be able to take 'freckles' home with you.

I'll also quickly point out, that at 3 tons, you could have just as easily dropped a land-rover.

Well enough, though it would much rather stay on roads. Since it can pick a following route, it would only go through mud if there can't be a path nearby.

Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

I never understood the logic behind the ice bucket challenge. It seems like it offers you two choices:

1) Donate to charity.
2) To something unpleasant and donate less to charity.

By taking option two, aren't you saying that you are so opposed to donating to charity that you would rather put yourself through physical pain than do so?

Wow, that's a lot of antarctic RPs, what do people like so much about snow?

Freckles, from Red Vs Blue, seasons 11 and 12... we kinda blew him up, but in an awesome way. Is a tad more autonomous than anyone wants it to be, though.

And I figure half a cubic meter of caked-on mud adds half a metric ton to your mech.

Also, I'm pretty sure my standard assault rifle can and will pen your Rhino. (which I'm not using, unless another Hurti merc company was bought by the enemy) And I've got shitloads of companies willing to make less-than-legal exchanges.

Ahh, I stopped at S10 of RvB. I think they just uploaded S11 to Youtube though, didn't they?

Depends on the kind of mud, like the composition of the soil, probably.

What, do you use .50 cal assault rifles or something?

EDIT: Fuck. I just realized that, if my soldiers and vehicles have advanced materials, why wouldn't my drones? The URA uses specialized alloys and cloned organic materials that are stronger than titanium and a fraction the weight, so why wouldn't my N2 be armored in that? I mean, it'd still move slowly and heavily, but it's weight could be halved from the conventional idea.

At one time, I fielded anti-mecha rifles.

Rough practical estimate of what [the 6.5x55 round] would do to your mechs
-the maths it took to start developing the load, in short it can pen chunks of the M3 Bradley IFV.
-Just a coincidence it matches the dimensions of the venerable 6.5x55mm Swede round.

STANAG II = proofed against a twelve pound AT-mine at point-blank (starting to surpass EOD-suits here).
STANAG III = Proofed against anything short of a .50-cal, or sixteen-pound satchel-charge to the face.
STANAG IV and V = Proofed against a 155mm artillery-strike (again, I used to field several rifles capable of penning this for several very good reasons)

In the meantime, we get this POS

Aside from intended grenades, it also is issued with a stock-mounted shell-carrier of blanks to lob RPG-6 a bit farther out.

Anti Mecha Rifle is a little over kill for Emmerian mechs.
