If one of the teams goes down, the ICE reinforces their objective. Otherwise, push on with the rest of the teams, towards the MIRV outpost. The teams are just in case we get separated *depending on how people want to do it, we could all land together or get separated and meet up with teams.

Seeing as I'm the only squad that hasn't been included in an Team, do I operate alone?

Nahp, anyone who was left out of the teams gets the jobs of pushing up if the others fail, or supporting the failing teams. Everyone should still work together, the teams are just in case of separation and who to link up with.

BTW, I'd strongly recommend *complete* radio-silence. As in, radios completely off unless you see a color-coded flare telling you what frequency to use.
The reason why, is because radio-direction finders can find those sorts of things, even when they aren't transmitting.

Hmm. That would be a good idea, but I already made the mistake so I won't take it back. The message is encrypted at least. Also, I assume we already have a frequency we're using.
Secondly, though, how could you locate a non-transmitting radio with a radio-direction finder?

In sort, internal electronic-interference cancelation gives-off just enough of a signal for a few germans to detect where the beachmasters are standing and giving orders... from far enough away and in realtime to give these coordinates to Anzio-Annie. (keep in mind, NOT EVEN TRANSMITTING)
Use of walkie-talkies at the beach was promptly banned after several men and tanks ate 300mm shells at the beaches, quickly reverted to signal-flags and blinker-lights. Ever since, use of the radio has been a specialty-profession only, and jabbering carelessly is likely to get you slapped upside the head and your radio smashed.
Right now, we're on an island, have no way of calling-in support from the carrier-group (even if we wanted to, heck, even an evac would be impossibru right now), and are probably outnumbered by bad-guys 1000:1 against. It would be most prudent to keep your voice down on all levels.
So, with everyone and anyone who can actually do anything about our situation being in earshot, turn that blasted thing off before I chuck a lit signal-flare in your ruck.
Edit: Sorry, after getting off work I'm about as moody as a drunk pirate.

Well, I don't want to act on OOC information in the IC. Tell me to turn off the radio in the IC.

P.S. I really think we should have a map. Just pick some real island with good rez on google maps, or find a good map of some island. It's just going to get confusing to make up the terrain as we go along.

In my days of attempted operation Flashpoint play throughs, never has the map ever been so useful to me. Other than my poor photoshop elements sketches, the Little Kiska island is the one we're jumping onto. Navy Cove is, you guessed it, the location of the cove. But it's not a Russian/Asian island, it's a very pacific islander one, and with that, it's got Philippines esc culture as well.
If you land quick enough, you may be able to purchase some Balut. [/joke]Congreveopia wrote:So, this has me wondering what the actual structure of this is going to be. Well, the populace is frenzied, and the military is focused on the main island with portions on the Little Launda one. They're not hostile to us. But the rogue element is. However, that's the double edged sword here, as radio contact is necessary for us to communicate effectively. But it could also give us away, like Hurt said. It's up to the IC Course of Action. Each Team's COA, really. Everyone maintain contact but move with your team. If you haven't found your team or any of the ICE units, use your flares/other form of non-radio communication.
Oh, and Chavez will be happy to see more Special Operations. They'll be appearing shortly. (They're pretty Elite, nothing on our level though.)

So, that's all good, but it doesn't address the question of how hostiles will work in this RP. Are you saying that we won't encounter hostiles until we reach the military base, just frenzied civilians?
Edit: So it appears that the best way for me to view a map of the island we're on is to reinstall Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising and view the map.
