The Empire of Korea had watched from afar the rise of a nation known as the URA in the nuclear holocaust and the chaos that followed. As these new people reunited themselves into a new nation known as the United Remnants of America or the URA, Korea watched with displeasure. It looked upon the vast space of land that was left behind and it's resources that could add additional fuel to the industry. It had supplied raiders against the republic with captured weapons for other wars in hopes of keeping the country divided. However the Korean government was surprised at the success of the URA to defeat it's enemies and it's continuing victories. As the nation began to prepare to intervene and invade the country other issues had arrived in the form of the Liberation of Kuwait from the Great Terran Republic. It was forced to turn it's attention to that matter and to push the issue of the URA back. With continuing issues such as the the Civil War of Marsisian the Great Korean Empire nonetheless began to prepare for an invasion of the URA.

However at long last the Empire of Korea was now ready for a full scale invasion and permanent occupation of the United Remnants of America. It would ensure the destruction of the URA and it's dream for freedom. It started with an assault along the coast of the URA which involved the denotation of multiple 1 Mt nuclear bombs which created an EMP which knocked out power and shut-down technology in the URA. This was followed by an invasion of Korean forces that pushed the surprised URA troops far back. With a base of operations established Korean troops were sent by air and sea and landed daily to keep a hold on the country. That was nearly three years ago. The Imperial Korean Armed Forces keep a massive presence with martial law and severe and strict rationing in play. The nation's resources are being stripped and Remnants are forced to live under a brutal occupation with new labor camps, a return to the ways of imperial ideologies. Resistance has proved fatal as the death of one Korean soldier can equal the death of a dozen to a thousand Remnant citizens.

However hope survives. The URA Resistance has slowly been building up its forces in order to launch a counter-attack to retake the nation and it has applied for military and economic help through diplomatic means in order to fight back. However by the time they arrive will it be too late? Is the war already lost? Only the future holds these answers and the resulting conflict will decided if the URA wins it's independence.

Seoul, The Great Korean Empire
The Blue House

Emperor Lee Hyunsik was to be found currently discussing the current matter of affair which was the invasion and occupation of much of the United Remnants of America. "So Jinheung what exactly is the status of the occupation of the URA"?

"Currently we are engaged into hunting down the remains of their navy using submarines. A naval blockade is currently halting most supplies from reaching the URA. Meanwhile on the land the situation in well under control. The border on our side is heavily fortified and we're just about ready for anything. We currently have air supremacy and can attack without restraint against enemy forces. Resistance is not yet strong enough to engage us in open battle," Minister Jinheung concluded.

"Any word of foreign involvement"?

"None as of yet. However we should remain on guard. There isn't much to fear from America, but other nations could be a worry in our efforts". Lee watched as Jinheung pulled out a folder which had classified stamped into it. "Your Majesty, General-Governor Lee currently has asked to station a nuclear warhead aimed at one of their most populated cities. He claims that it will prevent any "funny ideas. I haven't gotten back to him yet considering this needs your approval," Jinheung concluded.

Lee simply nodded at this once again. "I think not. Not yet anyway. We simply have to worry about them too much yet". He picked up a telephone and called the Head of the KNIA. "Yi, have you heard anything from your networks from any foreign involvement"?

"Nothing much and it looks like they won't get too much cooperation yet. But we've got to stay wary. We're keeping on eye on several of our old-times "friends" we've made. We've got a lot of networks and we haven't heard too much news from them. And not too much here since we cracked down on other foreign intelligence agencies."

"Anything different going on over there?"

"Well, no," Yi replied. "We're currently at a stand-still. Currently we're preparing to advance soon, though I'm sure you already know this. We already running some unscheduled combined-arms exercises. That will get our boys ready when they swing into the URA".

"How many forces do we currently have stationed there"?

Jinheung answered that one. "We currently have over 1,500,000 ground troops stationed there alone. Most of that came after the initial invasion. The purpose is to make the Americans think that trying to take back the country is suicidal and will have heavy repercussions. Which it will. Or until we take over and occupy the rest of the country anyway".

Lee nodded thought about it. They had crippled the URA and were now preparing to fully devour the remains of the weak nation. There military and economy was in shambles. And Korea was ready to pick up the pieces. He said "When will the attack occur again"?

"In three hours".

Occupied URA-URA Border

Governor-General Lee looked at the map once more. They had received another batch of Korean troops in order to supply the invasion. It was here and now. He turned up to look as the artillery guns and rocket artillery began firing raining down fire from the heavens down on the heads of the Americans. Automatic weapons fire heated up as the Korean troops opened fire upon the enemy. One of the finest main battle tanks in the Imperial Korean Armed Forces known as the Black Tiger was spearheading the attack supported by infantry and AH-21 Seth attack helicopters. The Black Tiger is armed with a 130mm main gun and had a powerful hybrid engine that propelled at to 60 miles per hour. Heavily armed and armored it was a force to be reckoned with.

In the air above Korean fighter-bombers and air superiority fighters were now bombing the air-fields and maintenance faculties as well as supporting Korean ground forces. Park himself was flying a Firefly-class stealth air superiority aircraft. He turned to look upon the receiving aircraft of the URA. He simply looked on as he upon fire with a array of missiles, rockets, and cannon fire. A strategic bomber force meanwhile was now dropping hundreds of thousands of pounds of explosives upon the bordering cities with everything from cluster bombs to thermobaric bombs.

Meanwhile out at sea destroyers and missile submarines launch hundreds of hyper-sonic cruise missiles rapidly. They were aimed at cities, communication centers, military bases, and industrial centers. It was mixed variant which included a 2,000 lb unitary warhead or bomblet munitions. The state-of-the-art design and use of composite materials is meant to give the missile sophisticated stealth capabilities. It could even make random maneuvers to stop enemy countermeasures or be re-directed to a different target in a operational range of just over 1,500 miles. The war would continue with a gusto.

Olympia, The United Remnants of America

President Gabriel Drake was currently very unhappy. He was currently seated at the head of a table inside of a conference room underneath the capital building. This was the unofficial "oh shit" room for emergencies. A third of his country under enemy control and his capital city currently a warzone was being counted as an emergency. He looked around himself. Amazingly, all the cabinet had survived the initial invasion. Seated around the table, from his left around, was the VP, Chief of Staff, SecDef, SecState, SecTreas, Secretary of Business, Secretary of Interior, Secretary of Development, National Security Advisor, Commander in Chief, both Directors of the Federal Bureau of Intelligence and Enforcement, and the Director of the National Intelligence Agency. The four commanders of the military, Army, Air Force, Navy, and Border Guard, and various aides of all present, were standing along the wall, each whispering quietly into headsets, phones, or minicoms. The rest of the government was somewhere else. Safe, and unimportant at the moment.

Drake smacked his hand on the oaken table and looked around the room, which was now deathly quiet as everyone looked to him. "Alright, can someone tell me what the fuck is going on?"

Secretary of Defense Konrad, being in charge of the military, looked around the room before looking at the young President. "Sir, as a summary of everything, I'll brief you. The occupied portion of our country is cut off. No communications, no technology, nothing. It's a dead zone. All population centers are being subjugated to the rule of the Great Korean Empire. We've gotten rumors, mostly from survivors who've gotten to the frontline and made it safely here, that a resistance is being organized, with small cells all over the occupied land. Here, things are different, but no better. The bases we still have, are damaged from bombings. We only control half of our nuclear fusion power plants, the other four are in GKE territory. The 1st through 10th Armies are all standing, but are fighting on the line and suffering staggering losses, but they're holding the line. The 1st through 8th Air Force are even worse off. Most planes are damaged and unable to fly. The ones that do are being used to keep fighters out of unoccupied territory. The 8 Fleets are doing the best, but we're cut off from them. They're scattered around the world, with only a couple nearby and being attacked, but they're holding their own against the GKE ships. The Border Guard has been nearly decimated, and is right now, fighting alongside the Army and defending our other borders. The FBIE has instituted martial law in unoccupied territory, and the citizens are abiding, with almost no riots and unrest. The NIA has been crippled and is recovering from the EMPs, their information gathering and information warfare is getting back to strength. Commander Wolffe, leader of the Rangers, is currently away, commanding all 8 Battalions, half of which are in occupied territory posing as very well-skilled and very effective guerillas. The other half is running raids against the forces on the frontline. The four Power Armor Battalions are fighting also on the frontline, and are faring the best, since it takes at least a .50 caliber round to pierce the armor and maybe injure the operator. The Freedom Star space station is surviving, but cut off in communications to us, so they're not risking a drop of the Freedom Star Combat Battalion. Satellite Operations Corps states that fully one half of our satellites are operational, with only one kinetic weapons platform able to fire. We're still getting reports from other branches and locations, but this is all I have for now." The SecDef licked his lips and drank from his bottle of water, parched from the long speech.

The President looked at SecDef Konrad, and then at each of the other men and woman seated at the table. "Alright. The outlook seems bleak. But we've pulled through worse. I want all forces defending against any incursions into unoccupied space. I want those fleets back ASAP. I want all point-defense systems that are operational activated against incoming missiles. And I want all of this done now." Drake looked at his Secretary of State, Jack O'Neal, "Jack? I want you and your people on the phone with the chairman of the Socialist Treaty Organization and the Parcus Bellum Alliance. We need friends, that's where they'll come from. I want too be briefed every hour, on the hour. Understood?" two dozen heads bobbed in response and muted "Yessirs" were heard all around. Drake stood, his hands on the table. "Good. You're all dismissed. We'll get through this."

International Waters

Aboard the aircraft carrier URS Twilight, two men sat in a small office. The one standing was the commanding officer of the ship, Commander Stephanie Johnson, and older woman in her late forties. She stood at ease as she conversed with her immediate commander, the CO of the entire 6th Fleet, Admiral Jack Kenseth, who was sitting in the leather chair behind the oak desk of the Admiral's office.

Kenseth looked up at Johnson, "So, what's your current report?"

Johnson shrugged and looked at her superior, "Sir, the Fleet is at full steam towards home. We'll be one of the first fleets there to assist the 1st and 4th Fleets in defending the coast and the Remnant waters from GKE forces. We're set up in a defensive formation around our hospital ships, amphibious assault craft, supply ships and our oilers. Our fast attack subs are further out than our surface ships and currently report no contacts yet. The other fleets will be showing up at nearest time 4 hours and at longest time 3 days after we do to support the 1st and 4th, which report taking light losses from initial submarine attacks and missiles. But their subs came out to play cat and mouse and our guardian point-defense systems came on, minimizing losses. Our two fleets and what they have seem to be stalemated right now, with both taking equal hits, but they'll no doubt bring in reinforcements."

Kenseth leaned back, "Which is why we're coming to the rescue."

Johnson nodded, "Yes, sir. We're going for blood."

"Good. Keep everyone in the Fleet at general quarters until we arrive, just in case. when we make contact with our fleets and their fleets, take us to battle stations. You're dismissed, Commander."

"Thank you, Sir." Johnson saluted, turned crisply on her heels and left the office.

Tervaĵ, USEADN

"General Ĵaanta!", yelled one of the IAAF's commanding officers as he burst into General Ĵaanta's office. "The URA has called for assistance from our nation! They've been invaded by the Great Korean Empire, and a third of their nation has already been captured. What do you plan on doing? We can't just stand by and watch as a fellow member of the Socialist Treaty Organisation gets swallowed up by an invading Capitalist force!"

"Officer, I want you to alert the Emperor and his cabinet. Tell them to meet in the Strategic Command Centre, stat. Get some scout planes to do a flyby of the warzone and bring back photographs", he replied. After the CO left, General Ĵaanta sat in his seat, stunned at what he had heard. I didn't even know there was a conflict going on between the GKE and the URA, he thought to himself. The old General soon realised he was going to be late to his own conference, and he quickly exited the room through another door in the room and headed for the SCC.

Strategic Command Centre, Military Headquarters

Emperor Ŝaalom Siidt-alas'teqiin sat at the head of the long table in the map room. General Stokiijal and Chief Commander Daaḱen were already there, along with several other high ranking individuals. Ĵaanta was the last to arrive, and sat in his designated seat just left of the middle. There was already a big commotion among the assorted cabinet members about what the Empire should do about this. Many believed that the IAAF should be deployed immediately, and some others, like General Ĵaanta, believed that the Empire should wait to strike back. Out of the twenty people in the room, only two thought that Alosteq Diin Nastja should stay out of the conflict all together, and three believed that the USEADN should aid both sides. Everyone suddenly went quiet. The Emperor had stood up to speak on the matter, and he had everyone's attention. "As you all know, the GKE has invaded the URA. We have been called upon to help stop the menace in their tracks by our dear ally, and that is why you have been summoned here today. I have decided to put it to vote whether or not we should aid the URA in their conflict or not", said Emperor Siidt-alas'teqiin. He motioned to a hat in the bak of the room and proceeded to say, "You will all receive a small piece of paper and a writing utensil. When you get these items, you will write your vote down on that slip. After that, you may put your votes in the hat and they will be counted. Is that clear?"

He was answered by a plethora of "Yes sirs", and the slips of paper were distributed. After everyone in the room had put their pieces of paper in the hat, the votes were counted. An unbiased homeless person the military took off the streets was brought in and the numbers were announced.

"Well, let's see here, ummm... For the ones that wanted no interference got two votes. The people that voted for... uh... Helping both sides out got three voters on their side. The ones who wanted a delay got eight votes. The voters that wanted immediate military intervention seem to have won with seven votes. Congratulations, folks! You're going to war!", the man announced.

"Well, you heard him! Go make your strategies and whatnot! mobilise the Army, Navy, Air Force, the factories, everything!", exclaimed the Emperor. The cabinet scrambled to do what the Emperor had ordered, and i just a few seconds, he room was empty.

New Soleanna City, Imperial Amaterasu States of Polaris, Special Administrative Zone of the Holy Britannian Empire

New Soleanna City, "The city of waters". "The Luminous city" , "The Asian Venice"! There were many names for it but all you need to know is that this city is different from the others.
This city is an ISSU economic hub. But that's not the problem here. The Imperial Chancellor of Polaris was on his throne. His Prime Minister had just left for Monochrome City, Unovia and his wife went to visit her mother in Pendragon , HBE! Napoleon vii Britannia , was a tall man, brunette , had a muscular fit , and could seduce a number of people to serve him.
The retired military General had just finished taking a shower when he heard a knock on the door.

"Who is it, I just finished taking a shower" said Napoleon

"It's the OSI( Order of Strategic Intelligence) director." He answered

"Hold on ,I will be out in a minute ok" The Chanceller

30 minutes later

"Ok so what do you need" said the Chancellor

"You the the GKE and the URA " the director said. "They are at war, Parliament wants to help the URA"

"And they want to engage because?" said the confused Imperialist

" The past years the Great Korean Empire has grown way to much. They could be a threat to the Holy Britannian Empire" said Director Yamanaka

"Yes, if we stop their growth, they will be no threat to us and the URA can flourish as the Dominant power" said the Chancellor

"Yes , you are catching on " the Director gladly declared.

"Tell the Parliament I will send a warning to the Great Korean Empire. " Napoleon sneered.

Dear President of the United Remnants of America,

We see that the Great Korean Empire has ordered an invasion upon your great land.
Until the Great Korean Empire attacks us , we will not join the war .
Just remember we condemn the actions brought upon by the GKE, we are on your side.
We will send arms and any other necessities to you. Together we can restore your beautiful republic!

Dear Administration of the Great Korean Empire,

We have been observing your actions in your nation,
We let go of past problems because they were for the greater good but now this is just for personal needs.
I warn you to stop these actions against the United Remnants or we will have no choice to declare war on you.
Can you see you have threatened the sovereignty of this prosperous and peaceful nation.
Any attack on us will be shown as a declaration of war.

From, The Holy Imperial Chancellor Napoleon vii Britannia

Seoul, The Great Korean Empire
The Blue House

Emperor Lee Hyunsik was caught slightly off guard at the news. "So another nation by the name of the of the Imperial Amaterasu States of Polaris has decided to help the URA in order to fend of our attack"?

"Indeed sir the exact words were that they would declare war on us if we didn't withdraw," Minister Jinheung stated with a wolfish smile of his face.

"Well I send them a reply you won't have to worry about that. And authorize the attack on the nuclear reactors. Well take care of them all right".

"Yes, Your Majesty. And what should be done about the Polaris?," Jinheung asked.

Lee simply nodded at this once again. "We have nothing to fear. I want a attack launched on there most populated city. We will not fall away from duty because some foolish country thinks it can threaten us. Besides war is imminent anyway. Launch a preemptive strike"!

"Off course and what should be done about the Power Armor Units that the Americans are using?"

"You know what to do."

Official Communique From the Great Korean Empire

The Emperor and the government of the Great Korean Empire has been notified that you are currently condemning our nation. We are quietly warning you to stay out of our state affairs and to get out. Authorization has been granted and you have officially warned to cease any actions against the state. And this time there will be no turning back as the Great Korean Empire will commit its full power to your destruction. Starting now.

With Absolutely No Respect, Emperor Lee Hyunsik

The order was sent to a ballistic missile submarine in the middle of the ocean. Several conventional fragmentation ICBMs were launched at the most populated city in Polaris. It would disperse several thousand tungsten rods that would obliterate a vast area and kill everyone it. It was the Empire of Korea's answer and the entry of another into a war.

Occupied URA

Lee grabbed a civilian and watched as the man screamed for his life. He pointed his rifle at the woman and said "Grab your child and get back in there"! She obeyed with a horrified face. As he dragged the restrained man down the street before loading him into a truck. They would bring him and the other captives into a field where they would be shot. It was a punishment brought on the people for their disobedience. So smart alack had thought is was funny to set of a car bomb. Idiots. Moreover he turned to see thunder in the distance. More bombings. Those bastards were getting tens of thousands of tons of bombs dropped on them. And they'll be getting theirs

Occupied URA-URA Borders

On the borders things were holding up for the Americans. But hopefully not for long. Park watched from above at max ceiling height for his aircraft well above any known Remnant defense system which they had gotten from and studied during the invasion when they had captured it. He and his squadron opened up and unleashed their payload of smart bombs over the nuclear reactor. Elsewhere the same thing was occurring. Attacks on airfields, military bases, supply depots, power stations, communication centers, industrial areas, and political centers was ongoing through the use of carpet bombings and ground attacks. Tactical ballistic missiles were being fired carrying heavy warheads against enemy forces to deal some heavy damage. The few aircraft they had were being swatted out of the sky like flies.

On the ground however things were harder, but by no means difficult. The Black Tiger tanks were fighting fiercly supported by Seth attack helicopters which carried any enormous arsenal including a 30mm revolving cannon, two triple 20mm Gatling Guns, and several hundreds of rockets and missiles to fire against the enemy. It was a very effective ground-support weapon and was equally helpful against enemy forces and as the Black Tigers surged forward at 60 miles per hour firing several rounds per minute with their 130mm guns. Canister shots which were packed with vast amounts of of tungsten balls or depleted uranium perpetrators against armored forces. Anti-tank rockets and shrapnel grenades from the tanks also proved useful. Artillery and rocket artillery pounded the enemy around the clock while the infantry advanced with fierce tenacity. They were receiving some losses, but the state of the URA Armed Forces wasn't a big threat to them. But another surprise was waiting for the URA Power Armor Battalions. The Koreans had there own power armor and were sending it out. Many were either armed with rockets, 20mm Gatling Guns, or even rotating triple 40mm automatic grenade launchers using AP or HEAT rounds. Heavily armored and armed they were a force to be reckoned with. Meanwhile the Korean hackers were scrambling, bugging, and infecting the URA networks and systems to prevent any repairs from going through.

Occupied URA Coastline/Waters

At sea satellite images of a URA fleet was transferred and from the coastlines several anti-ship ballistic missiles were launched. Traveling at high hyper-sonic speeds, having sophisticated capabilities and advanced stealth materials, and flying just above the water-line it would hit the enemy surface vessels as the powerful warhead exploded. Meanwhile the 5th and 7th Korean Fleets under Admiral Peng was moving forward to coordinate the assault with the attacks launched from the ASBMs.

Admiral Peng watched the reports from the super-carrier Final Dawn. Intelligence had been received from satellites that URA fleets were moving in to stop the invasion of the IKAF. That was not to be tolerated. He had ordered hunter killer and fast attack submarines to combat any submarines supported by anti-submarine aircraft. Destroyers and Battle-Cruisers were to fire salvos of missiles, guns, and other deadly weapons such as the 155mm guns. The 5th Fleet had even a few battle-carriers which the fleet had one or two of, these were heavily armed with missile capabilities along with large amounts of fixed wing aircraft not including helicopters. However the main guns were a assortment of 155mm guns to the 20 inch quadruple-barreled main guns with a range of a 100 miles or so. It combined the capabilities of a aircraft carrier with that of a nuclear-powered battleship or battle-cruiser. The Korean Navy Pilots had been also sent out to attack the URA Navy from high altitudes to minimize damages and to coordinate the assault with the time the missiles hit. And if that didn't work they still other means to use.

Tervaĵ, USEADN

The military council had come to a decision on the GKE-URA conflict, and brought the proposal to the Parliament of the USEADN. The two options were either to declare war on the GKE or keep the peace between the nations. The first option had won 134-46. Alos'teq Diin Nastja had declared war with the Great Korean Empire. There was a great rush among the military council as the final decisions on the strategy were made. The Emperor had to make a customary speech concerning the official Declaration of War.

"As many of you know, the Unified Dominion of the Great Korean Empire has invaded the Unitary Republic of the United Remnants of America", said the Emperor on the emergency broadcast. "The URA has called upon the Socialist Treaty Organisation's members to aid them in their brutal conflict. The Alos'teqiin Empire, as a member of the STO, is obliged to assist the Americans in their time of need. With the greatest of fears, and deepest of regrets, the United Socialist Empire of Alos'teq Diin Nastja openly declares war on the Unified Dominion of the Great Korean Empire. So help our nation against this deadly opponent we face."

Image
Official Letter from the United Socialist Empire of Alos'teq Diin Nastja

Dear Emperor Lee Hyunsik,

It has recently come to the attention of our nation that you have invaded the Unitary Republic of the United Remnants of America and taken a third of their territory. They called for the assistance of the members of the Socialist Treaty Organisation, and we answered. You will soon be faced with yet another opponent in your attempt to conquer the URA. We now have no choice but to take action against you. This is an official Declaration of War.

Across the Empire

Emperor Siidt-alas'teqiin had made the speech, and viewers were shocked. The drafts had begun, and many were taken into the military. They were to go through some of the hardest training they will ever face, and put into the Army or Air Force. Conscripts being put into the Alos'teqiin Navy, the pride of the nation, had to undergo some of the hardest training in the region, as to not shame the country. Some men and women died in the training program due to its brutality. In any case, the USEADN was ready for anything. Major cities had been armed with anti-aircraft and anti-missile defences in the event of an aerial attack. Major trade locations were heavily guarded and restricted by Naval vessels. Supply ships were packed with weapons and provisions while vehicles and troops were loaded into transport vessels. However, these preparations did not come great costs to the everyday people.

Food and water were already being rationed due to the large number of troops that needed the food, and many were going hungry. Families grieved for their sons and daughters who had left for war, and there was nothing to comfort them. Military vehicles, despite being largely powered by electricity, took up the little oil that Alos'teq Diin Nastja used for public transport, which made long distance travel out of the question. The public opinion was drifting largely towards peace due to the conditions, and protests ensued outside of government buildings every day.

Olympia, URA
CinC McAffee

General Benjamin McAffee Was sitting in the same bunker room that the President had given his orders in not so long ago. Now, the room was mostly empty, except for McAffee, a few aides and underlings, and the National Security Advisor, who was quietly taking notes in the background. The genera's official title was Commander in Chief. This made him the singular leader of the URA's military and security forces. His only superiors were SecDef Konrad and President Drake. Both of his civilian bosses were off doing something else, Drake most likely keeping the nation together with his bare hands and Konrad silently panicking as he reached out to military alliances all over the world for assistance. McAffee, however, was here. With an Overlord Tactical Awareness Headset and 5 screens on in front of him against the wall, each with either a different satellite feed, news feed, or comms channel open. His Overlord headset blinked in his right eye as he cycled through different command sectors for battlefield commanders and operators. He was, in effect, first-hand experiencing the war.

This was why he was having mixed feelings. Watching the men under his authority get slaughtered and killed was gut-wrenching. But he knew, as did every soldier, that they were fighting for the nation, not themselves. If he weren't so out of shape and if he weren't CinC, he'd be out there with his men and women right now, fighting the Korean bastards that thought it was okay to invade. But he was here, watching, the only thing taking his attention was the scribbling of notes, whispering between other aides, muted conversations on news screens throughout the room and other rooms down the hall, and, of course, the distant rumbling through the ground of explosions.

Front Line, URA
Simmons and Company

"This is Gunnery Sergeant Jeffery Higgins, over! Someone fucking respond! We're in need of backup. The 6th battalion is being cut up here!" All Higgins heard was static. He cursed again and hit his helmet with his free hand. Higgins was hiding in a foxhole as explosions and bullets went by overhead. He knew his situation was shit. The 6th Infantry Battalion of the 4th Army was in need of some assistance, and so far none would be showing up. Behind him, on either side were two of his closest friends and his only two remaining squadmates. Corporal Craig Simmons and PFC Gary Burns had been his friends since a small desert conflict that now seemed so far away. The Remnants had been holding this line for days, with both sides taking casualties. He'd seen dozens of his fellow soldiers, from almost every Army and even some of the Ranger Battalions. He'd heard that the Power Armor Battalions were around, also, and that they had been dealing heavy blows, but now they weren't doing so well. The comms had only gone out a half-hour ago, but it seemed much longer than that. He peeked his head out of the hole and glanced around: A few hundred meters away were the forward Korean emplacements. All around his dent in the ground were dozens like it. All filled with Remnant troops, living and dead. A bullet nicked the dirt beside him, and Jefferey sighed and sunk back down, his dark hand wiped sweat from his eyes and he looked at Simmons and Burns. "Well, boys. Looks like we hold out a bit longer. Our sitch isn't getting better, but at least we aren't Lieutenant Cortez." Cortez had been hit with a stray RPG round the day before yesterday. His remains had splattered half a platoon. "So, we keep firing till we run dry, then we sit here with our thumbs up our asses till someone comes to get us, aight?" Burns, grave face and all silently nodded while Simmons grinned, "ooo-ah, Higgs. I hope someone saves us. I'd rather not get run over by an advancing tank when the Koreans make a charge. And I definitely don't want to be sitting here when our artillery hammers that charge. We both know the artillery battalions can't fine-aim for shit." At that, all three of the 4th Army veterans had a quiet chuckle, then sunk down into a silence that only war could produce, each making potshots at invisible soldiers a few hundred meters away.

Front Line, URA
Stewart

Captain James Stewart was famed in the 9th Army for being the CO of the failed mech project. Now he led a small company from the 9th Army's 2nd Armored Battalion. As he stood out the turret of his Schwarzkopf MBT, his fiteen other tanks, all in his company, opened fire with his tank. All fifteen rounds each hit thirteen GKE tanks, which all erupted in flames, but one of his tanks exploded moments later. "Fuck! Onyx 1-3 is down, I repeat, Onyx 2-2 is down. No survivors." He didn't have to inspect the wreckage. Since only half the tank was left to burn. The enemy tanks may have been faster, but his R11s were more durable and more advanced. The difference balanced out into a deadly cat-mouse game. Especially as both sides' aircraft took shots as they came close enough in the loll of aerial combat. That's how he'd heard that Captain Reid and all of Marble company had been lost, from a air-to-ground run from GKE planes. Meanwhile, as he screamed into the radio about Sergeant Dulles and his crew being killed in Onyx 1-3, two Remnant R-6 Fighters screamed overhead, chasing and being chased by GKE fighters. Stewart knew this war was a clusterfuck, and the URA was doing all it could to defend itself. He was going to make sure that, if not the URA, than most of his company, would survive this living hell.

URA Territorial Waters
Vince

Admiral Vince Armstrong was standing on the bridge of the URS Kratos, the 2nd Fleet's Olympia-Class Aircraft Carrier. This was his flagship, along with the captain of the carrier, who was busy giving orders. Armstrong was on a tactical headset, following the commands and reports of almost every ship in his fleet, minus the ones that had been sunk. He knew the other fleets were on their way, and that Admiral Cossak's 3rd Fleet was somewhere a couple hundred miles to his East. That didn't matter. Not now, though. All that mattered now was playing Dodge the Missile with the Great Korean Empire as they rained hellfire in missiles and bullets. For most of the ships, the Guardian point-defense system was working out, protecting them with laser defenses. For some ships, like the cruiser Amos and the destroyer Curiosity, there was too much incoming for the point-defense systems to save them, and the ships were lost in clouds of destruction as they were struck repeatedly. Vince had just ordered all ships to open up with their 135mm main guns or their Archangel anti-ship missiles. His frigates had opened up with 18 inch guns. His destroyers were trying to reach out with their 8 inch rapid-fire cannons, but the GKE was just too far away. So heavy main guns and anti-ship missiles it was. The Logistical Support ship was directing all the fire of the fleet as it floated behind the carrier. The carrier itself was launching off flights of fighters to go after the ships and the few enemy aircraft in the sky. He couldn't reach his fast-attack subs, which were playing with the Korean subs at about a half-way point between the GKE and URA fleets. He couldn't even reach the mainland, which was having it's own fun.

Vince grunted to himself and leaned against the glass porthole of the carrier's bridge. This war was starting to suck.

The Imperial Palace
Phandong
02:44

The servers of the Imperial Palace hummed and beeped, alone in their dark rooms. Inside them, tens of thousands of artificial intelligences worked diligently, combing servers and websites the world over, quietly hacking the secure databases of dozens of nations to keep the Empire up to date. Others dissected and analyzed this information thousands of times, pumping streams of information to higher and higher levels, where policy decisions were rapidly decided on by the most powerful, sophisticated aeais in the world. The Empire, despite its massive and fantastically corrupt government, was largely run by these computers, and others at various secure locations all over the hegemony. Without them, the whole nation would likely crumble, as the bureaucracy and government simply would be unable to do anything.

The Empire was, quite simply, the world's first de facto cybercracy. The Empress and First Minister and others still wielded tremendous power, but there was simply too much happening in the world for them to keep close tabs on everything. Humans were not capable of processing the vast amount of data that was poured onto the Internet every day, or even the tiny fraction of it that pertained to international affairs. But on occasion, they did take an interest in some of the larger events, and then the aeais that ran the Empire played second fiddle to the Phoenix Throne.

Now was one of those times.

The Jun-ling Empress, resplendent in navy blue formal robes, bedecked with jewels and all manner of ornament, sat on the Phoenix Throne, sitting straight as a ramrod against its unforgiving jade face, and the Prince-Consort, dressed less overbearingly, stood beside her. The full glory of the Imperial court was gathered in the throne room, with hundreds of courtiers and guards bearing ceremonial fans and spears, and just as many civil servants, their positions distinguished by variations in color of their clothing and small, seemingly insignificant alterations to their small black hats. The Imperial ministers and a few high priests stood below the Phoenix Throne's platform, and hologram projectors had been discreetly inlaid in the walls, displaying the avatars of the highest-ranking artificial intelligences of the military and the diplomatic service.

The meeting was about to conclude, and the chief military aeai was finishing its closing remarks.
"... forces are simply not yet in place. NBC capabilities are secure and ready for use, but their use in this situation is banned by international treaties to which we are signatories, and they would simply be rather excessive, so they are out of the question. Orbital assets would fall in the excessive force category as well, as we simply do not have the necessary precision to perform the correct surgical strikes to halt the Korean advance. Air units could either be put under URA control or directly used to sever GKE supply lines and such, but despite the havoc a few well-placed Skysharks could wreak, no soldiers from any part of the Hegemony are prepared to launch a full-scale and likely two-front campaign."

The Empress looked down at them from the Phoenix Throne's massive bulk, her petite figure looking like a child's doll against the throne. She looked from the battery of aeais, to several various members of the nobility, to her cabinet, and finally to her commanders.
"I have made a decision. We will sell the URA several Skysharks, and perhaps a few of those new Hailstorm missiles as well. This will be at a discounted price. Our agents in Korea will spread antiwar propaganda and take whatever action they feel necessary to destroy the Korean populace's will to fight. I am sure some of our sleepers in the bureaucracy can create irritating rationing programs and such. We will follow Councillor Linh's plan: approximately three-quarters of the necessary soldiers will be moved to their attack points immediately, while the rest will be put on standby. I am sure the Korean high command's satellites will find images of our movements, and they will swiftly realize we are not yet in position, nor do we especially want to attack."
Linh, the chief military aeai, bowed slightly. Several of the humans cast it irritated glances, but it was not smug or gloating, merely floating and waiting for the Empress's next orders.
"This meeting is over."
The holograms blinked out, the courtiers and musicians stood to attention, and the Empress and the Prince-Consort, to the fanfare of horns and drums, swept through the assembled advisers and down the throne room's long main walk, past the thousands of courtiers and bureaucrats and soldiers who bowed before them.

Short Summary

-Around 4 million Senkakan soldiers have been deployed to various Imperial bases in North America and East Asia. Eleven carrier battlegroups and six electronic warfare strike units, totally over a hundred and fifty ships, have also been moved to naval bases in the northern region of the Home Islands, and just over a thousand aircraft have been repositioned all around the globe. Additionally, Skyshark drones and Hailstorm missiles have been suddenly offered to the URA military by the Senkakan firm Diaz Industries for a surprisingly low price, and it is implied highly trained Senkakan operators can also be contracted to use these weapons systems.

Seoul, The Great Korean Empire
The Blue House

Emperor Lee Hyunsik was in a mixed mood at the moment. Two nations had joined in the conflict, but he wasn't worried about that. Instead he was worried about Senkaku.

"Jinheung, do you think this was a wise idea? Because the last time Senkaku got involved I had to get myself shot".

"Sir, we have new checks and balances in place. Senkaku agents can't simply walk around in public so carelessly anymore. Besides the attacks on Polaris have been a success," Minister Jinheung stated with a worried look on his face. It wasn't like the Emperor to question his own decisions.

"Well I want our forces to be ready for a conflict with the USEADN and Polaris. I want to begin some talks with the Jun-ling Empress. And on the battlefield have Operation Obilivion begin. We need to end this war quickly before any hositilies begin with Senkaku".

"Off course Your Majesty and should there be anything else?," Jinheung asked.

Lee simply nodded at this once again. "Release HADES on Senkaku as a message. However don't make it obvious. We don't need them involved. However position troops in order to be ready for a conflict with Senkaku".

"Off course and if that should fail"?

"Kill them all."

The Emperor and the government of the Great Korean Empire has been notified that you are currently moving vast masses of troops and from our intelligence sources have been offering the URA weapons and equipment. We simply ask that you stop and that you do not spread the conflcit even greater. For the URA may not last long enough. We would be willing to engage in talks to... normalize relations with your country. We do hope that you take this in consideration before any regrettable actions occur in any of our sovereign states related to previous incidents. After all we are always watching.

With Respect, Chancellor Jinheung

Occupied URA-URA Borders

Lee stood near the foxholes where URA and Korean soldiers were fighting a increasing more violent conflict and they were preparing for a new offensive. The authorization was given to blast a hole through the lines of URA soldiers with tactical nuclear weapons. He watched as a Korean soldier knelled ready to fire a tactical nuclear warhead from a missile launcher with the range of 3 miles. The warhead had a yield of 20 tons to 1 kiloton depending on the setting and would be devastating. Across the entire front-line this would occur. They were taking casualties, but they could easily shrug it off with there massive military and manpower. The question was could the URA survive? As the Seth attack helicopters surged forward with there massive arsenals onto the convoys of URA tanks and soldiers in foxholes, enemy aircraft would have to deal with SAMs as well as auto-cannons designed to take down aircraft. Rocket artillery began firing rockets loaded with various blister and nerve agents as Korean soldiers wore their masks. Any head that would stick up was making themselves to be a target for snipers.

The Black Tigers were playing a cat and mouse game with the armored forces of the URA. New tanks would be rolled in. The M-439 Vanguard II was often referred to as the world's premier main battle tank. Armed with one of the most technological advanced and thickest armors in existence and have a vast arsenal of weapons and defense systems including a 150mm main gun, 20mm auto-cannons, nanite chemical lasers, anti-tank missiles, and a anti-personnel CIABM system. With a engine that propelled it to 57-60 miles an hour it would work together with the Black Tigers to surge and crush the enemy Schwarzkopf MBTs. Modern doctrine also called for and reiceved infantry armed with anti-tank weapons as well as Seth attack helicopters supported by infantry fighting vehicles. They had recieved more losses than expected from the Black Tigers, but this was only counted as mere luck. Inside occupied territory stealth bombers equipped with 100kt nuclear gravity bombs were prepared to drop them on major cities. And all this due to arrival and movement of large amounts of Senkaku troops. However this would be a message to state that the GKE was ready to do anything to win this conflict.

Occupied URA Coastline/Waters

Pend watched the explosions of the missiles and artillery shells watch. Three frigates and a destroyer had been sunk at this unexpected turn of events, but they were prepared. The ZEUS and ARES systems were a wonderful pair in providing defense. Together with SAM systems, auto-cannons, and other powerful weapons they could minimize their losses while on the coast they rained hell-fire without worry. Any new fleet that approached there waters would get the same warm welcome. That didn't matter. Not now, though. The full arsenal of the naval task force was engaged in open warfare with the enemy fleet. Cluster missiles were being fired instead due to the lack of effect single warhead missiles were doing. Their fighters were engaged in fierce dog-fights in the skies using various weapons such as the new Orion cluster micro-missiles. This war was only getting uglier.

((OOC: quality is bad, due to the fact that right before I posted it originally, I his a back page and lost it all.))
Olympia, URA
President Gabriel Drake

Drake sat in his office, getting reports from his advisers and secretaries, until Secretary of State O'Neal came barging in. "Sir, a business firm in Senkaku sent us a proposition for military drones. They all but said we'd get contractors to pilot the drones as well." Drake leaned back in his seat, "Hmm... Well, sure, why not? Not like we can use the money for anything else. I'll give the go-ahead if you can get in contact with them. Now, I've heard the reports, everyone. Back to your jobs." Drake was met with a chorus of "yessirs" as his aides turned and filed out of the office.

Front Line, URA
Simmons

"Hello, this is 4th Army Headquarters, what is your report?" Higgins jumped and cheered. "Yes, this is Gunnery sergeant Higgins with Corporal Simmons and PFC Burns. We don't know the status of anyone else, Over." As this was said, Burns was at the front of the fox hole, firing on advancing troops with a light machine gun. An explosion on a nearby fox hole caused him to curse and sink back down. Burns saw the explosion had come from a passing helicopter. Behind the two of them was Simmons, sitting no a small bank at the back of the hole, using his sniper rifle to pick off enemy snipers. The radio chirped, "Yes, we've heard reports of assistance and such from the front lines. Support is on it's way soon. However, you three seem to be the ranking soldiers in that area. Congrats, Master Sergeant, Sergeant, and Corporal." Master Sergeant Higgins looked at the radio, "Well, whoopee-fucking-doo, we got promoted, boys...." As he said this, the signature whomping came from behind him...

Front Line, URA
2nd LT McCormick

Air Force 2nd Lieutenant Jerry McCormick was one of twenty AH-80 Blackfoot attack Helicopters coming to the rescue of this section of mud grunts. He had seen soldiers, tank, and even wingmen fall to the GKE, and it was his squad's turn for revenge. He and three-quarters of his squad shot over the front line and opened up on all the ground forces with rocket pods and rotary guns. The remaining five helos stayed back and locked on to enemy aircraft with radar-guided missiles, opening up on any locked-on jet of helo.

Enemy-Controlled Territory, URA
Tony Childress

Captain Tony Childress was currently in a grove in the forest with almost a thousand Rangers. This was his 3rd Battalion. His and 3 other Battalions had crossed a weak spot on the front line. The 1st was supplying Rebels while the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th assaulted Korean supply lines, killing the soldiers and pilfering supplies and weapons to pass on to the 1st Battalion. So far, his force had hit 3 convoys with guerilla tactics and had only lost 4 men and women. That's how guerilla warfare went, fast and hard.

URA Territorial Waters
Vince

The 2nd Fleet was putting up a Hell of a fight. Even now, as they stood their ground with minimal losses, the 6th and 7th Fleet had come up behind them and was withing long-range missile capabilities, which they gladly opened up on. Admiral Vince Armstrong was excited, even after a cruiser to his port side detonated after a cluster of missiles hit it. The air war out here had become a stalemate, but the naval war seemed to be falling into the URA's favor. Even now, Admiral Armstrong had ordered two destroyers out front. these destroyers were armed with the 275mm rail cannons. As each ship reported they were locked and armed, Armstrong gave the fire order. Two magnetically-launched rounds fired straight at the enemy fleet's ships. In another minute, two more rounds would be fired on top of the 135mm main guns and 18 inch guns. The fleets were still too far apart fro the 8-inch rapid cannons, but that meant nothing. Most rockets and missiles were being deflected with small slivers of laser-interception while the cluster missiles were actually hitting Remnant ships. Hopefully, the Remnant Navy could score more mission kills or total kills than the Korean Navy...
