Edges of Freedom Organization

Preamble

The Edges of Freedom Organization (EF) proudly stands in our world today to spread peace and freedom to all. We are not a military alliance, trade, but everything combined. The EF senate will decide on laws as well as assisting members in war. EF will stand tall and proud, and we shall not falter.

Article I

Section I
This concerns trade. In order to spread freedom of trade and knock down trade barriers, nations may not boycott foreign companies, unless approved by the EF senate. Boycotting not only hurts the nation's economy, but the nation boycotting economy. Nations may not boycott if they are boycotting over religion, race, etc. Before national boycotts, you must bring the boycott up to the EF senate.

Section II
Nations, however, may please embargoes against other nations for any case, unless there is no reason, race, religion, etc. Trade barriers are also to break down because they restrict our freedom of trade.

Article II

Section I
This concerns human rights. Nations that practice slavery are advised and urged to abolish it. Any nation violating human rights may be subject to EFHRA (Edges of Freedom Human Rights Activists) who may come in the nation and try to feed the people and save them from oppression. They will be transferred to a different nation that does not abuse them, unless the person would like to stay in his/her country. This is up to the person if they would like to move.

Section II
The nation, however, is to be dealt by the EFHRC (Edges of Freedom Human Rights Court). They will vote specifically on that nation and how to peacefully spread freedom. If the nation agrees, EFFO (Edges of Freedom Food Organization) will come and give food to the people starving. Nations violating human rights may be condemned by the Senate of the EF.

Article III

Section I
This concerns peace&military. Member nation may choose to have defense forces or not, they are not forced to. In fact, the EF will conduct peace talks between disputes before war. Peace before war.

Section II
The EF is as you know a peacekeeping organization spreading freedom. Within the EF there are many other different councils or courts. One of them is the EFPC (Edges of Freedom Peace Council). This council meets every day to discuss how to spread peace specifically. When a member nation or a foreign nation is in civil war, and if the nation in civil war or regular war agrees, the EFPC may send peacekeepers to that nation to care for the people and help them. Members of the EFPC may send peacekeepers to foreign nations if they are not in war also, or if the council agrees.

Section III
If a nation is attacked for no reason by a foreign nation, EF member nations have a right to intervene. However, this does not apply to all nations or cases. Nations may also choose to not help, but advised to help their fellow allies.

As said, not all cases give the right for EF nations to intervene. This applies if the nation in war is the aggressor, unless they give a good reason in the Senate for us to intervene.

This will not happen if the EF Emergency Council (EFEC) says this war threatens this alliance or for their reason. If the EFEC says yes, at least half of the EF member nations should intervene. This should only be used in extreme cases. This military pact is only for nations to feel protected in times of hardship.

The Edges of Freedom (EF) is an organization to spread freedom, peace, and human rights to the world. They have many councils, such as the Emergency Council (EFEC) and Food Organization (EFFO). This, however, is the main organization senate/assembly. Think of it as the WA General Assembly.

Each nation may bring 3 delegates to the meetings. The first meeting will be located on an island specifically for the organization. The delegates will meet up and discuss where future EF buildings will be and how the organization will be in the future to spread peace, freedom, and joy.

I. Location of Headquarters

3 delegates boarded a small private jet, which was bound to take off soon and land near the EF building, in preparation for the first meeting. On board were:

Leora Naples: Previous Ambassador to Eubatu, specializing in Diplomacy and International Trade
Sir John Howards: Previous Captain of the Rhodeve Army, specializing in International Conflict and member of the Emergency Council
Paul Stien: Previous Premier of Yztal Province, Rhodevus, specializing in Civil, Human, Political and Economic Rights and Member of the Peace Council

The Delegates will arrive under the Queen Diana's orders in 2 hours to the meeting.

General Bakersfield walked into his office to see General Ads standing next to his desk and General Rader sitting in behind the desk, shining his shoes. Bakersfield snapped a solute to Rader who returned it without hesitation.

"Bakersfield," Rader began, "I have some news. You are to represent us to the Edges of Freedom alliance. You will be doing this through a secure uplink on rotating frequencies, to prevent foreign intervention. You will rotate in with General Ads and our more experienced diplomat, our officer of foreign affairs. Good luck."

[Bentus]

Addressed to the Edges of Freedom Organization,
The Commonwealth of Bentus would like to express its utmost humility and gratitude for being accepted into this most prestigious alliance. We eagerly look forward to the mutual benefits which we can all gain from this new forum for international co-operation, and hope that through working together we can help make the Worlds safer, more secure, and more prosperous for all. The names of the official three delegates that have been selected to represent the Commonwealth Parliament and its constituent states in this assembly have been attached to this communique as requested, and they have already been dispatched to the conference location. The Commonwealth gives its best wishes to the Organization and all those individuals who find themselves writing the pages of history.

Robert Peck had taken part in many roles during his extensive career serving the Commonwealth. Coming out of high school, he enlisted into the Union military with dreams of being accepted into the CDA - the inter-Commonwealth armed forces. By the time he retired from military service, he was a highly decorated Colonel and in the minds of more than a few, a hero of Bentus. When he chose to enter into politics, his sudden ascent through the ranks earned him both recognition and threats. By his mid-40s Peck had taken on the role of Ambassador, Member of Parliament, Minister of Defence, and had even received requests to run as Vice Prime Minister on two separate occasions. Now, he was to represent the worlds of the Commonwealth to the EFO and try to get Bentus' foot in the door of international politics. Peck couldn't have picked a better team to help him with this monumental task. His fellow delegates - Mrs Weiss and Mr Russel - were both prominent names in Bentusi politics, with Mrs Weiss' reputation as a quick-thinking battleaxe preceding her, and Mr Russel an old comrade and ally of Peck's even from before his days as Minister of Defence. Now, the three of them sat at their designated place in the grand hall, waiting for their fellow nations to join them and commence the historic conference.

Ambassadors Fred Fox, Harry Love, and Margo Obryan have all arrived at the EF Headquarters, waiting for the other ambassadors.

The three delegates eventually arrived at the headquarters. They got off at the runway and made their way towards the building. They arrived at the front door and saw the Smoyan delegates. Each of them said hello and shook hands.

IC: The plane carrying The Banjo Islands delegates land. They depart the plane, get their things, then continue on their way to the main building.

The biplane, a TPT-476, touched down on the runway. From it, emerged three people. Keyson Jones, Dayson James, and Henry Turret. Slowly, they walked towards the meeting place, looking at the scenery.

[Smoya]

Fred pointed to the airway. "We have guests," he said, walking along the tropical sand to the planes. Harry and Margo looked. "We can finally begin," Margo said with a smile. She walked over to the diplomats to greet them.

Inside, the security had finished doing its security check. A meeting could now take place.

[Bentus]

As the meeting came into session, Peck stood up to address the forum:

“Fellow delegates, the delegation of Bentus am honoured to be present amongst such a prestigious conference and esteemed individuals. We currently have an ongoing issue which we would like to put forward to the Edges of Freedom Organization for a resolution before this meeting is adjourned, however before we do so we feel that it is prudent to first reach a consensus on creating the foundations of this organization. First on this list we feel, should be the location of the headquarters of this organization and also the possibility of any troops from member states to be stationed under the command of the EFO so as to form a rapid response group for the purposes of this alliance.
With regards to this, the Commonwealth of Bentus feels that whilst the EFO has already stated that it is willing to engage in peacekeeping operations, the full mandate of these has yet to be fully delved into. Furthermore, we believe that a standing army for the EFO is not necessarily essential to fulfil these goals, but may well help make them achievable. Consequently, the Commonwealth of Bentus would like to propose that a joint EFO force be stationed at the yet-to-be-decided headquarters to start off, to serve as a test-bed on the sustainability of joint military command and co-operation, before possibly committing to larger co-operation on a wider military command structure.” At this point, Peck resumed his seat.

Sir John Howards stood up. "I have fought many battles during my military days." He motioned to the Delegate from Bentus. "As my delegate friend has stated, we need a test run for the EF's joint country military. I for one know that nations who have international military alliances generally have better relations, not just with each other, but with their allies, allies as well.
I agree with the stationing of the EF Forces at our soon to be discussed Headquarters. I also ask to create a round the clock Military General for the forces. So, every half year, the army will be lead by one General, from a country in the Emergency Council."
he sat down and sipped his glass of water that was next to him.

The Anollasian delegates took a seat. ''Hello everyone. We are the Anollasian delegates, John Springfield (which is me), Ali Tosun, and Emily Villeroy.'' He gestured toward the two other delegates. They smiled. ''It's a pleasure to be here in the Edges of Freedom Main Chamber.''

Shamur, Shamah, and Qammar got out of their plane and walked to the EF headquarters. Upon entering, they greeted the Smoyan ambassadors by shaking hands.

The ambassadors shook their hands. "Hello," each one of them said. They turned to the Anollasians and said the same thing.

Margo and Harry greeted the other ambassadors, while Fred stood up in his seat.

"Welcome everyone!" he said, excited to kick off the first meeting. "Thank you all for coming. Before we begin passing any legislation or officially begin the side councils, we must decide where our buildings shall be, discuss our schedule for the future and goals."

I also say that for the time being, the side councils should be here as well, until such time as space become limited, wherein each council should move to a specific country that has a permanent or near permanent place in it.

I would also like to share some simple ideas for scheduling. Such as meetings start at 11:00am every other day, with a set schedule of resolutions and debates discussed the meeting prior."

Peck listened intently as the other delegates made their statements before responding, "The delegation of Bentus wholeheartedly agrees with the statement from Rhodevus and believe that Smoya is the perfect place for the HQ of this alliance. As that appears to be the majority consensus on the matter, we would like to put forward a question to the assembly: where shall we decide the jurisdiction of this alliance ends?" Peck allowed the question to hang for a moment before continuing, "We believe that it is a given that the EFO has jurisdiction within the borders of its member nations, as is implied by the signing of the charter. However, Article III Section II of the EF charter seems to indicate that we cannot become involved in nations without their prior consent. We feel that this will inherently bind and limit the capabilities of this alliance to fullfil its goals: what dictator or tyrant will allow foreign peacekeepers to enter his or her nation when they can just say no? As such, we propose that the EF's jurisdiction be extended to include all cases brought to the assembly's attention by member states." (OOC: naturally IRL we won't get involved without consent, but IC it seems off :3 )

The three delegates from the TRST whispered for a second, then had Dayson stand up and speak.
"We vote the main building be on this neutral island." After the other Tribean delegates started affirming the statement, he silenced them, the continued, "And that our powers should end at unnecessary control."
