Dr Joseph Florin steps ups threat in Moorburgh sea dispute
by Our Bob Kulirs
Atok President Dr Joseph Florin has thrown down the gauntlet to Moorburgh as tensions rise over a disputed maritime zone, declaring there will be "no compromises" and ordering an increased show of military force.
Moorburgh sent another warship across the sea border near southwest of Atok near Freeport Island on Tuesday, the 10th time it has done so this year, according to St. Lenkerville.
Atok responded by stepping up naval patrols in the area and ordering extra seapower to stand by at the main port of Woldsworth.
In Granda Lando for an two nation summit, Dr Florin declared yesterday that the oil- and gas-rich Freeport Island area, on the border between Moorburgh Rumada Isle and Atok Woldsworth was "sovereign territory".
Dr Florin, said he had presented his demands to Moorburgh President Tippingston on the sidelines of Konglomerat Regional Secretariat.

Moorburgh holds military drill as Freeport Island dispute widens by Ron Burfott
Moorburgh paratroopers recaptured an island from an enemy in a wargame as its Defense Minister vowed to defend a disputed Freeport Island territory. Atok’s ships sailed near the contested islets as St. Lenkerville reportedly expanded its air defense zone. Old Plainton’s military on Sunday held a military drill dubbed “Island Outlook,” in which the country’s elite airborne troops simulated the retaking of a remote island from an enemy nation. The plot for the annual drill, which took place at an exercise field east of Porthbridge, stayed the same for the second year in a row as the dispute over the group of tiny islets in the Tallfree Bay, claimed by Moorburgh, and Atok, showed no signs of resolution. |

Present Time
North of Rumada Island
'Come to periscope depth,' Commander Rosberg said. 'I want to have a quick look around before proceeding.' Moorburgh navy submarine Stormford class MNS Sickwind moved slowly from her current depth of one hundred feet beneath the surface of Tallfree Bay.
Rosberg had raised the S8700 periscope while Officer on the Deck (OOD) rode the leaner, less detectable TW8000 attack periscope. Two sets of eye were better than one. The weather on the surface was horrible, with violent thunderstorms breaking over the entire region. Unlike their surface counterparts, submariners were rarely affected by the weather, except when they need to go to periscope depth.
Three hours earlier, Sickwind had arrived at her RV point with Petra-class Frigate Cape Feich and Cape Callarcteos (known as Task Unit Kilo) 25 nautical miles from Rumada Island. Both frigates was now heading in the direction of the Freeport Island or Gondola in their codeword . Sickwind current assignment was to patrol the nearby water in search of any enemy submarines that might try to sneak up on the Task Unit Kilo.
