Battle of Kolakovici, Southern Flank, Southern Baggnagia

As the separatist army was getting smaller and weaker with every strike from the Air Force, the Baggnagian troops had immediately began using an open opportunity to take the separatist-held part of the battlefield. Even though the enemy could launch a successful counter-attack or resist the Baggnagian advance for the matter, the troops could still not completely move safely across the battlefield, as the separatist resistance was still active, not to mention the risk that the soldiers might fall under attack from friendly Air Force fire, as the targeted separatist-held part of the battlefield resumed receiving mass bombardment.

Battle of Kolakovici, Southern Flank, Southern Baggnagia

The ongoing bombardment from the enemy Air Force, made the separatists abandon the primary grounds of the battlefield, being forced to only take cover in the secret small corners of the battlefield and attempt to perform strikes from there. However, it was not very effective, as the bombardment spilled over into those areas as well. The insurgent army was pretty much helpless at this point as well, as the separatist military was now only consisting of troops, while all weaponry and tech had been destroyed. The insurgents now only had to rely on their own strength not to win, but to survive.

Battle of Kolakovici, Southern Flank, Southern Baggnagia

Seeing that the current army, although being powerful, was still not enough to completely overwhelm the enemy, the local commanders were forced to call for reinforcements to assist in a complete defeat of the enemy forces. The reinforcements arrived after 30 minutes, from the nearby government-held areas. In the meantime, the local army had to take care of the fighting on its own. This was not difficult however, as the separatist army was decreasing and weakening every 5 minutes, as the battle continued.

Battle of Kolakovici, Southern Flank, Southern Baggnagia

After having already taken massive casualties from the Baggnagian army, as well as seeing that reinforcements had been called by the enemy side, the local insurgent militants had abandoned the battlefield, leaving their weaponry, tech and dead colleagues behind. The separatists had retreated to the closest insurgent-held areas for sanctuary.

On the Fornt
The Zorganese continued to fight alongside their allies, even disregarding their own orders. After heavy fighting in the mountains and seeing no clear end, the Zorganese started to realize the fight is a lost cause. They don't fall back with their allies, but continue to fight in the mountains against the Baggnagian government forces. The AA defense is still in operation, as aircraft occasionally get shot down by Zorganese troops. The heavy armor and artillery continue to pound the enemy, which are still trapped below in narrow valleys. Helicopters periodically arrive and take the wounded/dead away from the battle field and drop off various supplies. A telegram has been sent to the Southern Rebels;

To: Southern Rebels
From: Zorgan High Command
Encryption: High

We regret to hear your decision about not leaving the battlefield. However, we will honor it and treat it as a very noble decision and will not look at it twice. The last telegram we received from you was very gloomy. It sounded like we have given up the fight. However, that is not the case. Troops in the mountains have blocked the Baganggians from advancing a whole army of troops to your positions. We have them cornered and are currently killing them off. The war is not lost yet, so keep your heads up and continue the fight until the end. We will continue to drop supplies to your troops such as medicine, food, ammunition, and arms to help you win this war.

Another note has been sent to the Bagnaggian government;

This is an official message from Zorganese forces;

WE REQUEST THAT THE BAGNAGGIAN GOVERNMENT CEASE FIRE, AND STOP THE DEATH AND DESTRUCTION. WE BELIEVE THERE IS A FINAL DIPLOMATIC RESOLUTION TO THIS. PLEASE RESPOND.

To: Zorganese Forces

From: Government of Baggnagia

Unfortunately, we cannot comply with your request. We had attempted to negotiate with the separatists before and that only resulted in even more innocent lives being lost. We gave them several chances and they turned all of them down. If we cease military action now, even more lives, that could be saved, will be lost. We will not abandon our mission knowing that our people are still in captivity of cold blooded terrorists. They had shown themselves that negotiation is simply not the way that they want to go, meaning that force is the only tool left to solve this conflict. If you continue supporting the separatists, regretfully your soldiers will be viewed as terrorists as well and will be brought to justice along with other armed militants, while your country Zorga will forever be denounced. You still have time to make the right choice as it is never too late.

Sincerely,

Government of Baggnagia

As the Baggnagian Air Force continued weeks to month long bombing campaign, the surviving separatist forces that still managed to stay in the bombarded areas had used the opportunity in between breaks of the enemy bombardment and began setting up large collections of AA guns and other anti-aircraft weaponry supplied by Zorga. The anti-aircraft weaponry was being set up around mountains, in the forest, camouflaged in the fields and hidden in other areas. Although there was still a possibility that the wave of enemy bombardments might still be too overwhelming for the separatist anti-aircraft weaponry, the insurgents were simply out of options and thus had to use whatever tools and techniques possible to keep themselves on track.

Battle of Milostruznica, Southern Flank, Southern Baggnagia

After having been bombarded by the Baggnagian Air Force for a very long time, the district of Milostruznica and all of its surrounding areas now seemed safe for the Baggnagian Armed Forces to move in and take. However, much to the surprise of the army, there was wide separatist presence in those areas, consisting of both the surviving insurgent forces and the newly-deployed reinforcements. This meant that the Baggnagian military would still have to engage the local forces in a series of battles before being able to fully take the area. Although all battles would be equally important, there was still always one key battle that would completely influence the entire course of further events. That battle was modestly nicknamed the Battle of Milostruznica by the Baggnagian Armed Forces. If this battle were to be won, a large chunk of the region in general would come back under the Baggnagian control.

Battle of Milostruznica, Southern Flank, Southern Baggnagia

The local separatist forces were aware that the Baggnagian military would be moving in with ground forces pretty soon. A signal that gave this away was the cease of the bombardment of the north eastern areas. Now that these territories were all turned into one big wasteland of fire, smoke and craters, the Baggnagian military thought that they had received an opportunity to safely move in and take the land as all enemy presence there was seemingly terminated. However, that was precisely part of the separatist trap, as the surviving forces had immediately called for reinforcements. Now the Baggnagian army was planning to take Milostruznica, a key city in the region and that was something that the separatists had to avert. Since the Baggnagian Air Force did not bomb the city itself fearing for the lives of the citizen population, the separatists were able to use it as sanctuary during the bombing, which meant that the city itself still had a wide variety of insurgent presence even now. All of them were preparing to fight the Baggnagian soldiers to the death, refusing to allow them to take the city by any means.

Battle of Milostruznica, Southern Flank, Southern Baggnagia

The Baggnagian Armed Forces had carefully entered Milostruznica with the ground forces carefully observing the perimeter, while the Air Force guards the skies above. Knowing that the city had not faced a bombing, the military was aware that the separatist presence here was definitely large enough to form a strong force capable to withstand the Baggnagian power and that is why the troops were prepared for attacks at all times. The local commanders had received reports via radio from their colleagues in the nearby Baggnagian battalions that were currently engaged in bloody battles against the separatists in areas around Milostruznica and thus received a warning that there was a possibly of new insurgent reinforcements arriving in the city to help their own brethren protect it from the Baggnagian military. Although the local Baggnagian army in Milostruznica was not yet engaged in combat like their colleagues in the surrounding areas, the military was still prepared for a separatist ambush at any moment.

Battle of Milostruznica, Southern Flank, Southern Baggnagia

The insurgents had groups of scouts on almost every building and skyscraper in the city. These scout battalions were observing the movement of the Baggnagian forces and reporting it to the grand separatist command, making sure that the insurgents themselves were ready to fight should a battle break out at any moment. Although the scout groups were ordered not to attack the enemy and instead allow them to advance to the city center, the scouts still had powerful weaponry with them should they require it for self defense, as the Baggnagian army itself might discover them at any moment. The scout groups had to especially remain stealth, as the Baggnagian army had jets and helicopters circling the skies above.

Battle of Milostruznica, Southern Flank, Southern Baggnagia

The Baggnagian military was surprised seeing how they had been advancing across the city for this long and had not yet been attacked by any separatist forces. Although the army was already aware that the separatist presence was large in the city, there had even been additional reports presented that had reinforced this. However, the city itself seemed abandoned, making it possible that the separatists had all taking hiding positions, preparing to unexpectedly ambush the enemy. The Baggnagian troops felt like they were being watched at all times, which made them uncomfortable and extra insecure. Despite this, the soldiers could not do anything about it, as they could not simply start havoc in the city just to force the hiding enemy forces out into the open. The Baggnagian military simply remained quiet and continued advancing forward, aiming for the city center.

Battle of Milostruznica, Southern Flank, Southern Baggnagia

The primary command of the local separatist forces was kept aware of the Baggnagian progress at all times. Although they were going to allow the enemy army to freely advance to the city center without being disturbed, the local insurgent commanders started considering that striking the enemy at any time might soon be required anyway, forcing the separatists to rethink their current tactic, making minor adjustments.

Meanwhile, in order not to cause to much suspicion to the enemy forces observing their movement, the local Baggnagian commanders had agreed on contacting Air Force jets and helicopters above, requesting for them to take a good look of the city from above, trying to trace out some hiding enemy forces. In addition, the local Air Force was encouraged to call for reinforcements in advance, should the enemy decide to unexpectedly attack from the ground.

The separatists immediately became suspicious after seeing the enemy Air Force above maneuvering. The insurgent army immediately took it as a preparation for strike and did not hesitate to take immediate action themselves. The separatist command was contacted by the scout groups and thus the local insurgent commanders issued for all forces in the city to immediately attack. The insurgent army then immediately open fire on enemy jets and helicopters with AA guns, rocket launchers and other anti-aircraft weaponry from the building and skyscraper rooftops, while the separatist ground forces all immediately rushed to the same spot, where the Baggnagian army was located and were all ready to attack the enemy forces with a tsunami of destructive man and military power. The Baggnagian army was outnumbered at this point.

Battle of Milostruznica, Southern Flank, Southern Baggnagia

As the local army was immediately forced to defend itself by engaging in combat with a larger enemy army, the commanders had called for ground and air reinforcements in order to even out the number of the warring armies. The Military Command immediately deployed fresh forces to the designated area to reinforce the outnumbered army. The new forces were primarily deployed from the nearby government-held areas, however, there had also been additional units sent from the military bases in other parts of Baggnagia.

Seeing that they had the enemy outnumbered, the separatists had decided to use the opportunity and lay as much pressure on the Baggnagian army as possible. The separatist forces from all over the city rushed over to the same location, where the Baggnagian military was situated, hoping to surround and neutralize the enemy from several directions at once.

Meanwhile, at other nearby parts of the region, the Baggnagian Air Force was carrying out mass bombardment of the separatist positions, cleansing the path for the Baggnagian ground forces to move forward. As the separatist troops, tanks and missile batteries were getting swept off the ground, the Baggnagian soldiers moved in and finished the job, thus taking new ground. Their effort was reinforced by tanks that provided cover fire. The soldiers and vehicles soon changed places, with the war machines taking the frontline, while the troops stayed behind and provided cover.

Battle of Babic, Southern Flank, Southern Baggnagia

As the separatist army was massively loosing forces due to bombardment by the enemy Air Force, the insurgents were forced to call for additional tanks and troops to reinforce the separatist positions in the area. Since it is going to take a long time for reinforcements to arrive, the local army had to hold off the Baggnagian military on its own, making sure that the enemy does not take the area. In the current battle, the key location was the smaller city of Babic, the loss of which would mean an enemy victory and another blow to the separatist progress in the war overall.

Battle of Babic, Southern Flank, Southern Baggnagia

The local army was suddenly distracted by a plea from the Baggnagian forces in Milostruznica. The army in that key city requested reinforcements, as they were losing to the overwhelming massive separatist army there. Since the Air Force was doing the primary work in the current battle, the Baggnagian army fighting near Babic decided to donate some battalions to the army in Milostruznica and deployed forces there. This was not a big loss, as the local army was holding up against the separatists pretty decently. The Baggnagian forces in Milostruznica required assistance much more, as they were surprisingly losing to the separatists there. However, with a decent number of reinforcements, the army there should be back on track in no time.

Seeing that the enemy ground forces were decreasing in number, the insurgents decided to attack them immediately, viewing them as the weak link in the current situation, due to the decrease of their power. The enemy, however, seemed to be aware of the separatist assault and thus quickly delivered a counter-offensive. As the ground forces of both warring armies were engaging in combat, the Baggnagian Air Force seemed to be increasing in number, as additional jets and helicopters were arriving at the battle scene.

The newly-arrived attack and bomber jets, with addition of helicopters, joined the Baggnagian Air Force in bombing the enemy positions and thus cleansing the path for the Baggnagian ground forces, giving them an opportunity to safely move forward and take the separatist-held part of the battlefield.

As the bombardment continued, the separatist troops kept getting killed and the tanks continued getting damaged or destroyed, the separatists understood that remaining in an open field would not bring any good to them, but would only inflict more casualties on their side, thus making them only weaker. Thus, the separatist troops started hiding in whatever spots they could find, as well as making craters in the ground using grenades. The craters were used as hiding spots, as well as comfortable shooting spots. From those craters the separatists were firing with AK-47 rifles, rocket launchers, grenade launchers, machine guns and other weapons.

The separatists were now a more difficult target to hit, as their troops were effectively blending in with the environment, while still finding time to deliver counter-fire at the Baggnagian ground forces. Although the Baggnagian army was still able to keep up the firefight with these forces, they were still not completely reachable and furthermore they were being defended and covered by the remaining separatist forces on the frontline. Thus the commanders were forced to request that the Air Force target both the remaining enemy forces on the frontline, as well as the craters used as hiding spots.

As the enemy attack and bomber jets started striking the separatist positions and their crater hiding spots, the insurgent crews started setting up AA guns to fire at the enemy Air Force. Although this did not bring much effect as the number of jets was too massive and the aircraft was moving too fast, the insurgents were still making all attempts possible in order not to lose the battle.
