A clear and present danger ( GESO ) FT. open

Postby Kornosia » Mon Nov 11, 2013 3:46 pm

OOC: I have permission from Hobbeebia to do this :)

///Hobbeebian Expeditionary Fleet Deep Space Outpost: 3 rd Detachment

It was a pitiful place, this outpost placed into the far reaches of the Imperium's territories. Barely able to service more than 5 ship at a time, it was figured to be the smallest of its kind. Despite its small size it still carried the Destinctive beauty of design and aesthetic appeal with purely decorative peripherals and archways, inlaid with the intricate golden carvings, a harrowing to it's ancient builders vanity. But to the Ventorie... It was a mighty prize to take.

Around the station sat the newly acquired Dreadheart destroyer, still fresh from it's sell. An attempt by the Hobbeenians to foster better relations with The Terran Alliance and the GESO. The Dreadheart was the only vessel on station this day... A day that would see Kraawl please with spilled blood. If no warning a number of Ventorie warships came out of warp space followed by a trailed of pale blue, pure ether of the at near suicidal ranges and wasted no time before opening fire on the station and the destroyer with thousands of anti-hull missiles laced with round after uncountable round of explosive shells.

Despite the best efforts of the Hobbeebian advanced point defense weapons and defenses, the sheer overwhelming force of an unending attack took their toll on both the stations shields and the destroyers as well, sending debris in all directions... On the station chaos had taken over as hundreds of live in crew scrambled to and for trying desperately to control the damage and the fires caused by the ever hot burning thermite forced its way through the sterile white walls.

This is Hobbeebian Deep Space Outpost of the 3rd Detachment! We are under attack by Ventorie Forces and have sustained heavy losses... Station systems are failing... (Static) have boarders!...(Static... then background noise)... Order the Destroyers crew to abandon their ship...I will do no such thing!... Then embrace your death and let your blood please Kraawl.

As the communications burst ended the few survivors on the station where rounded up and summarily... Consumed.

OCC: Not my greatest post ever, but someone needed to respond.

A.N.A.W Listening Post
Rytell System

Sergeant Tyrell was manning one of the listening posts. The A.N.A.W maintained many listening posts across it's realm. Mostly to keep tabs on it's neighbors but also to keep up on galactic affairs. Tyrell was expecting his shift to be boring, like always. He would sit down, listen for eight hours, and then his shift would end. He almost never picked up anything besides static. But a few hours into his shift he picked up a distress call.

Tyrell quickly called over his commanding officer. "What is is sergeant?" Asked the CO. "I'm picking up a distress call from an Hobbeebian station. They have been attacked by Ventorie forces." Tyrell reported. The CO promptly contacted his superiors.

A.N.A.W 3rd fleet
Task Force Bravo
Yelviss System

One battleship, twelve cruisers, and a frigate orbited the planet. They were completing final preparations before they would leave to help Hobbeebian territory. Admiral Fray was in command. He was one a Calolite and was very experienced. He strode onto the bridge. As he walked on, the crew saluted. The bridge was a hive of activity. His flag ship the A.N.A.W.S Paragon was one of the few Storm Class battle ships. He went to the Com station and sent a message to the Hobbebian government.

We have received a distress call from one of your stations. As a fellow member of the GESO we are compelled to help you. Please give us a rendezvous location to meet up with your forces.

The ships slowly moved into formation. The battleship lead the formation, with the rest of the ships following behind. With a blast, the ships were launched into FTL sped and were on their way to the station.

Supreme allied headquarters GESO

General Nicolas Ryanes was having a particularly relaxing day, the paper work , council meetings were finished, He was just putting his hat to complete black uniform with platinum lining with four star on each epaulette. Just as he began making his way out of the lofty office the GESO AI Shimmered in to existence . Nick snapped his head around a to look at the female air. Before he even had gotten a word in she began to speak. “Sir we have a situation unfolding in Hobbeebian space..” Situation?? Nick wondered aloud his eyes averting quickly to the large holographic display on one side of his office. The AI continued “Yes, several unknown contacts have attacked a deep space outpost I'll play back the distress for you now looks like we're in a heap..”

Code: Select all
This is Hobbeebian Deep Space Outpost of the 3rd Detachment! We are under attack by Ventorie Forces and have sustained heavy losses... Station systems are failing... (Static) have boarders!...(Static... then background noise)... Order the Destroyers crew to abandon their ship...I will do no such thing!... Then embrace your death and let your blood please Kraawl.

Nick furrowed an eyebrow and briskly said to the AI. ..“Get the GRF commanders on the line. I want their asses there yesterday” Nick then quickly made his way down by grav lift to the heart of the GESO complex it was a massive command center as soon as one stepped off the platform they could see many staff from different nations at their holo console, and the massive map of the galaxy and the movement of all GESO ships. The distress signal came from in Hobbeebian territory indeed it was an attack, and now Article 4 was invoked, he thought a day like this would never come no one would dare attack an entire alliance and expect to win but in thought he remembered the stories about the war against chaos that had plagued and scarred the UTA a century or so ago. This made him doubt somethings, why an outpost.. How could they not have pre defined maps.. Or they did but decided to make a statement out of that system. For what ever reason for this attack was it was a threat to every GESO power if the Hobbeebian's capitulated.

“What assets do we have in the area?”

He asked the AI putting a hand on his distinguished beard pondering on what the next move or targets would be. He didn't want to take the chance in throwing in all of the GRF and local ships in to one area., his mind was still coming to terms with this event. This more than ever was now a test if anything of his leadership skills and organizational skills as well as his Will as a commander. Whilst looking toward the large holographic map of the galaxy.

“We've got battle ship group two, and several other ships on cross system patrols of the trade lanes, they are.. 6 destroyers, and 3 light cruisers..”

“Send them in...” He trailed off knowing these lives were in his and every other commanders hands.

“I want all GRF ships on station to be put on level one yellow, and to prepare a defensive initiative for any tempting targets.. I don't want to go on the offense just yet until we know what and who these Ventorie are..”

Battle Group two

The Jutland Class Battleship TAS Hornet And battle group two, by happenstance were conducting combative exercises. In the CIC of the Hornet things were somewhat lax, nobody expected anything of note to happen, nothing to fight other than one another in a simulation, each AI fighting each AI and each biological member of the crew taking turns on training with the manual fire control systems. The CIC of the hornet like its sister ships was lined across most of its walls with holographic consoles, auxiliary consoles all flickering and changed color to represent different modes and other such mundane things. Rear Admiral Patricia Hammond sunk in to her black leather command chair. Her eyes gazed about the room, nothing...nothing.. nothing . Then urgently Hornet popped up in her holographic form. “Rear Admiral Hammond, we've GESO alert codes that have activated Article 4. It is now in effect. A Hobbeebian outpost has been attacked several parsecs away by a yet unknown force. Allied HQ has instructed us to proceed to the location and offer reinforcements to N.A.W ships and Hobbeebian forces.

The large hologlobe in the middle of the command deck just above the general crew stations. control panels began zooming in on the system the distress call had came originated from, labeling it with a noticeable strobe of redish orange hue. It was less than an hour or two away at most. Thus the AI began forming up the 12 ship battle group light seconds apart from one another. As they entered in to a tunnel that hyper space that made the ships of the battle group shine and glow with blue white energies. Their gray hulls surrounded in waves of particles and energy covering almost every spectrum of light.

Patricia sat silently grasping the chair arms. The weight of the coming battle was gaining on everyone, and her. They didn't know what to expect, but they would have to adapt to the situation. and commanders cap upon her head. Those stars on her epaulettes on her shoulders representing the weight and command of authority beyond one mere ship. She and Hornet alike were responsible for the lives of every ally and every Terran that lived.

Patricia's XO captain Redok Zerk, a furred species of wolf like anthropomorphic beings that were recovered in the war of 2700 from genetics facilitates that were used to breed them. His brown eyes looked up to from the crew command deck to Patricia, he ran a clawed hand softly over his gray furred chin. His mind couldn't help fathom what was to come, the carnage the utter destruction..

Perhaps it was just a blip a fact that this was no simulation. Lives could be lost. How many he wondered. It was however to the wider galaxy going to be a blip on the map, even as many would have to perish on both sides, the UTA did not expect to have to extend the fighting to the four corners of the milky-way. Redok had taken an oath keep the stars of GESO states and the UTA glimmering brightly against the blackness of the void and to be stead fast in his dedication to that duty.

The battle group was well on its way. He stood up from his chair on the right side of the bridge and walked up to Patricia who was near the azure glowing holographic globe showing relative positions of ships and any incoming and out going FTL traffic in at least a six parsec three dimensional scan. Redok could clearly see the system that was in trouble, it was outlying system, but what didn't add up to either of the commanders was the fact that the engagement was focused on a minor system and not just a direct push of might in to heart of Hobbeebian space... Redok said in a gruff voice..

“Looks like we're in the hole now, I wonder what the hell will be waiting for us when we get there...

Patricia looked to Redok In the eyes and said with a plain voice.. “I don't know but this I do know, that many ships can only mean one thing. We are Now. At. War. And we know next to nothing about the enemy... This troubles me. Redok nodded in agreement. “I can guess, we're about to enter in to combat with an unknown enemy force... Shit that many ships... Well better get our guns going hot then..”

Patricia nodded, she sighed and replied calmly. “Lets hope its not the day of the rapture for us..”

Horent chimed in at that moment “We're now approaching the AO, all personnel general quarters, again general quarters...” Kalxons went off echoing throughout the ship, crew and drone alike rushed to their stations, internal defenses were active in case of boarding ..

“I'm sending out a drone ahead of us so we can get a clear picture on what we're dealing with.”Patricia waved her hand in a gesture of agreement... And with that a small spherical shaped drone with three spikes coming from its chrome body slipped out in to hyper space engulfed in a stream of colors just like the ships where. It rushed on ahead of the slowing fleet, it slipped through a bluish white portal in to the system just a few AU from where the battle was happening.... As the visual of what was going on came in to live sensor feeds both Redok's and Patricia's eyes averted toward it, the saw quite a horrific image.. An image of devastation and chaos, war and death. Ships locked in to deadly duels each sacrificing themselves for the cause.

Patricia said through the intercoms..

“Everyone remember, this day we now go to war. We go to war to defend our brothers and sisters in arms... Let us hope the blood shed here today will not be in vain.“Then she quoted the ships motto.. “Sic semper tyrannis!”

“Dear.. god.. that's a lot of ships.. “ Redok commented upon their arrival and followed by their subsequent attack

The hornet and her battle had group jumped in, and all ships were still a light second or so apart from one another and a light second and half from the battle. Right away the ships began maneuvering randomly, even the mighty Hornet herself jolted and banked. VLS tubes on each ship opened up with antimatter missiles and RKM's .Then following up with conversion beams that had a yellow white hue to them. Beam and pulse fire xray and conversion DEW alike sliced and gashed through space. toward the opposing ships. Hornet and the TAS James town one of the older Spruance class Destroyers fired on the dreadnought. Wave after wave of missile and beam crackled like thunder in the bowls of the ships as they fired.

Terran Fire was not directed randomly, beam weapons in particular as well as missiles targeted sub systems, mainly engines, shielding and weapon emplacements. And out right hull. There were also a few missile heavy destroyers hiding behind any planetary or asteroids in the area.

This was the first time the Jutland class battle ship was put to the test. Patricia waved to the AI and said. “Get me those NAW ships on the line..”

With a blip through the GESO combat communication links Patricia was now on the air.

“To all allied ships, I am rear admiral Patricia Hammond from terran battle group two and the sixth fleet.. I'm taking command of this situation, as such I order all ships to withdraw to the nearest system, its no use fighting here, when we can be used someplace else..We'll provide cover fire and take some of the heat off so you can start jumping out we'll follow through. “

The TAS Elmhurst the Ares class strike cruiser assigned to the battle group had immediately cloaked upon entry to the system. This was both to gain an element of surprise and to keep it from being spotted so it could rear its head against the enemy with its powerful spinal lance. Indeed there was no use fighting a battle in a place where there they can no longer do good.. It was hopped allied ships would get that directive.

Executive residence situation room Union City Neo Earth

President Sagen Sat at the head of a long black but glossy table ,at that table where all the joint chiefs of staff and Secretary of defense Linda McKenzie. He sat there placing his hands upon the table tapping away at the report. This silence was broken after a moment in review.

Sagen sat there, he took a glass of water in his hand put the edge to his mouth and sipped. He did not seem melancholy nor afraid, he himself was coming to terms that the nation now faced. War.. All out war.. He had to consider every factor, and considering it was election year, this threat was hardly ill timed. He was about to leave the presidency with in months. His hope was leaving with a legacy more of peace than of war. This was now dashed, as the people he lead were now going to spill their blood for their brother nations.

“Secretary of defense McKenzie, whats the status of our fleets, and the GRF?”

Linda replied in a plain voice, no one seemed visibly disturbed.

“Mr president, currently the GRF is mobilizing in a defensive posture pending the outcome of intelligence gathering on these... Ventorie.. As they are called. I've proceeded to issue the order to all forces to defcon 1. So far ships in every one of our systems and om patrol are going to defend allied and Terran worlds as much as they can.. Frankly sir I don't know if this will spread or stay in the or if it will stay localized..”

Richard nodded and gave a sigh, as the feeling of tension came about him and the wight of leadership burdened him.. Now more than ever, and seeing as the UTA was about to go to the ballot to choose another president, he needed to make sure the new Chief executive was well informed and advised on decisions.

“For now , until we find their nest, we have to keep this on our terms not theirs, they should lead us back to where they came from soon enough if we let them. The numbers we're receiving however makes the situation rather precarious.. Sir”

Said the racoon looking anthropomorphic person, he was the chief for TASF and his name was Reil- -Tempro-ascuka.. Sagens mind wandered on this event, as his eyes looked around the room and he replied..

“Very well, keep me advised as to the situation..”
Richards gaze looked to the holographic globe with a map of all GESO and Terran systems clearly marked on the milky way and beyond. He had to do two things now, address the congress and the nation,..

Capital building. Terran Senate chambers.

Richard Stepped up to the podium the speaker of the house Snark erm to his right and to his left Vice president Stabler.. Richard looked older than he had before he won the election to make him the leader of the mighty UTA.. He saw her throughout the brush fire wars that sparked across the galaxy, the cutting down of chaotic troops. And now for one last time in his career he would get the nation ready for war.. He cleared his throat, this was also being brodcasted live to every citizen of the galaxy that could hear him.

“Ladies and gentlemen of the Senate and my fellow Terrans, several hours ago. There was a distress call from Hobbeebian space, this call came from an outlying post, upon arrival of NAW ships they had discovered something most ghastly and abhorrent to the very ideals and very fiber of any moral, sane and civilized beings. It was a scene of carnage, devastation and a foreboding warning of an incoming invasion. Today I ask for the sake of our home worlds and those of our allies, that we declare that we will stand firm with our Hobbeebian brethren and sisters. Our allies may not and cannot be allowed to fall for surely we will be next. I appeal to everyone, and anyone who can see with plain sight the future clouds of destruction and death on the horizon if we do not use every bit of our strength, every voice in our nation and in the GESO. That the civilized worlds we inhabit now, will fall in to a dark age of tyranny, destruction and chaos.

I shall not lie to you, the foe currently attacking Hobbeebia is unidentified, we don't not know where they came from or where they're headed. We can only assume the worst, that these beings, calling themselves the Ventorie, are such of a nature to warrant a full declaration. That we will stand tall with our allies and, that we will fight back. We will fight them every way possible, from guns, to ships, hands, and our very souls. We will not yield to these tyrants, we will not be dissuaded and dispelled from our systems. And if anyone thinks they would instill the fear of their gods in to the United Terran Alliance and her allies they are not only wrong but have cemented our commitment to destroying their vial machines of death. I..No we will not rest until this foe is vanquished, and once again the galaxy remains free.

We will show other powers that the UTA will not bow to their whims under any circumstance.. We are unto our selves and allies have a pact and this pact will be sealed by blood, this is an unfortunate fact of sapient life. One must fight for liberty and country, nor everyone of us in this universe cant and will not be branded as inferior because some dictator or empress decides to do so in a whim. So this I must ask of you my fellow citizens and senators A wish to formally declare war against the Ventorie empire.. I do not seek war, none of us do. But if we must fight it, we shall fight it until the bitter end and until our foes vanquished under our heels and stricken down by our swords! Stand with me stead fast and stand with our allies, for now in a time of their peril they need us. I cannot in good spirit let our allies down, and their innocent lives taken from them by force. A force that knows little of our indomitable spirit to be free, to make all life free, fair and safe. Until we do this, we cannot eliminate war, and death, destruction and carnage.. No- sane people would relish war or condone it under many circumstances but here and now we MUST fight for everything we hold dear....”

President Sagen walked away from the podium, he walked down the steps on to the blue carpentered floor and began walking down the aisle members of the senate comprised of many races that in and of itself displaying the liberties of the union he was leading. He walked looking confident and collective, the presidential anthem was presented

So with a vote of 85% to 15% the Terran senate officially declared a state of war better the United Terran Allaince and the Ventorie empire and her allies. This was the first time in one hundred or so years the UTA actively declared war..

(Onboard the Destroyer "Dreadheart"- minutes after the attack)

Hull Breaches on decks 5-7! Fires through out the ship! Automatic suppression systems are offline! MasCas units are all full capacity! Engines are offline!" exclaimed one of the few uninjured crewmen onboard the Dreadheart during the assualt. The ships Captain, a man named Eddard Elderich staggered to his feet after removing some debris off of his body and finding a stable platform to grasp ahold of.

"Send out a distress call to anyone in the area... Mass broadcast!" Eddard ordered while helping another sailor to his feet only to find out a leg had been severed by an explosion. "Damn it all!"

Others who had not recieved as many injuries attempted to help their far more seriously wounded brther and sisters as best they could.. still... some could only comfort those who could not be saved. The extent of the damage on the vessel was extreme, as many sections had many visible breaches, fires and small jets of leaking atmosphere letting loose the vital and limited oxygen onboard the ship. Signs of rapid decompression where everywhere. Amid the untold debris where the bodies of the less fortunate, some with peaceful faces as their life was ripped from them so fast they had no chance to change their expression, others still grasping their throats forever, trying to gasp for air where none can be found... atleast not for normal beings.

If one was to look closely at the hull they would see the still living bodies of Ventorie Boarding crews searching for accessable points onto the ship. This was of course unknown to the remaining crew inside the vessel, still trying to stabilize the ship as best they could with what little they could; or it was until a small group of Ventorie for an access port. With a series of breaching charges they port was blown open sending more air into the vaccuum of space along with a body or two. As more and more Ventorie entered the ship panic once again set in as the bewildered crew attempted to resist the incursion. The sheer force of will of the Ventorie saw round after round from Hobbeebian Mass Driver Rifles flow thrugh their bodies only to have their suits pressureize the wound.

Shot for shot the two exchanged fire within the halls of the crippled vessel, time after time Hobbeebian sailors fell to the Ventorie gunfire leaving a trail of carnage and blood where ever they had been.

"Attention all hands! Attention all hands! Enemy Forces have boarded the vessel and are moving through corridors 54- 56! All security teams within the area prepare for immediate contact!" called out the Captain just before the sound of gunfire erupted after a sudden burst forced a shudder from the crippled ship.

"Sir! Breach Charges detected! Local Security teams have engaged enemy forces within the Administrative Hall! We have Visual confermation of enemy forces!"

The Captain looked to one of the few viewing screens still operational and got his first look at the new enemy.

Ventorie Boarding Trooper

We have one team sending images of the being inside now...

Ventorie Without Armor.

The images where almost surreal, never before had such a being been encountered, yet they bore such feriocity against them. The bridge crew began loading weapons themselves prepering for the eventual attack against them. The camera's outside remained active for sometime and gave witness to the extreme bravery of the Hobbeebian Troopers of the Expeditionary Fleet. The bright white streaks of light from the Mass Driver rifles created quite the display as the returning fire bore a deathly deep red as the burning hot rounds from the Ventorie struck and warped the very walls of the ship and cover being used. Many times it would push through the cover and into a soldier's armor knocking them to the floor, searing the flesh beneath the armor as the round stopped just shy of peircing the skin.

Then it came in...

The Captain took hold of his mic and gave a resounding reply...

"Mayday! Mayday! This is the Dreadheart! WE are dead in the water and have no means of propulsion! Enemy forces on board! I say again..."

Then the line went dead as the communication system started to fail as well. Outside the few smaller frigates still within the area where mounting the best defense possible... atleast until news of boarding teams breaching them as well began to circulate within the Fleet Network. One such ship also started to list to one side before it accelerated and rammed another allied vessel forcing both ship's hulls to ripped, crack, then shatter with an explosion at the point of impact as the internal atmospheres of the ships ignited, sending flames out in a globish shape sending debris out in all directions, some striking Ventorie vessels, some striking the wounded station.

On the Dreadheart, the Captain slumpted into his chair slowly before giving his final order.

All hands... Abandon the ship and direct life-pods to Terran forces... All hands... Abandon ship."

Third Fleet
Task Force Bravo

The ships entered the system a little bit after the Federal Union. Instantly the sensors went crazy, sensing the vast enemy force. Admiral Fray stood up. "My God." He said. He almost went into shock. After a few moments of silence he finally recovered and started analyzing the situation. Looking at the holo displays and sensor readings he could tell that the Hobbeebians were abandoning ship and were heading toward the Federal Union fleet. He also received the order that their allies would retreat.

Fray wasn't expecting the enemy to have these kinds of numbers. "Fleet, prepare to make the jump to the nearest star system. My ship, Fog of war, and Vengeance will help cover the Hobbeebians retreat with the Federal Union. Once their safe we will start to pull back. Open fire with all batteries and launch an initial volley of warheads." He ordered. In this situation he was outranked by the Federal Union commander, but he felt the need to contribute and do his job.

As the rest of the fleet started to pull back, The battleship and two cruisers opened fire. Fifty rail guns opened up fire, their projectiles leaving white streaks in their wake. Then an initial wave of twenty five nuclear warheads were launched at the enemy. They looked like fireflies glowing in the night as they headed toward their respective targets. The Flak guns opened up fire. They didn't aim at specific targets. Instead, they created a area of denial, which would keep some of the enemy projectiles from hitting the ship. Fray knew their was a good chance he wouldn't survive. His ship was hardy, but the enemy greatly outnumbered his small force.

This is Admiral Fray of the Alliance of Non-Aligned Worlds Navy. I will assist you in covering the rest of the fleet. It is my hope that we can hold out against them long enough. I wish you the best of luck in our shared endeavor and if we are fortunate to survive this, I will buy you the finest barrel of Woko Ale. May the Creator be in our favor.

The three ships continued their grim advance. Knowing that the chance of survival was slim in the wake of such an overwhelming and merciless enemy. Under A.N.A.W doctrine, the enemy would be classified as a Tier three enemy. Which meant that the enemy would receive no quarter. This was due to a number of reasons but mostly due to the fact that they showed no mercy themselves.

Alliance Naval Command

The room was tense. The Alliance had never officially been at war before. The dim lights hid most of the other faces of the Admirals and Captains. The room had a faint smell of alcohol. A few holo displays were showing logistical numbers. The head Admiral, Emar, was wrapping up his presentation to the High Naval Council. "In conclusion." He paused and looked at the eyes of the council. "We should not take the Ventorie threat lightly. They will attack us if we are weak and they will show us no mercy. I propose this dear friends. We must mobilize the entire fleet and ready reserves. The army is already preparing some of their forces. I also believe we must secure the Kingdom of Lillian's planet of Carda. They are one of only two planets with access to the rare element of Hypesium. Right now we have only one system to get this crucial system. By taking control of the planet for the duration of the war we will make sure we can keep the war effort going." Emar sat down.

Many of the Admirals were confused. "The Senate will never approve of this. We have been at peace with the Lillians forever forty years. They are a neutral zone. They buffer us from the Imperium and the galactic eastern side of the galaxy. It would be crazy to attack them." Said a Josillian Admiral. Many others nodded in agreement.

"That is where your wrong." The Admiral said. The Senate has taken interest in increasing our presence there. The Lillians are an affiliate member of the Alliance. Eventually they will come under our sphere of influence and like it or not, we need what they have. Now, any questions about the Ventorie?" He asked. A Jonite stood up.

"What do we know about the Ventorie? Have our intelligence found out anything about them?" Asked the Captain.

Out of a dark corner a gruff looking Graz stepped out. He was missing and eye and had a scar running across his face. "I believe this is where I come in." He said to Emar. Emar nodded. Yarz went to the center of the room. In his mouth he was chewing a stim. "The Ventorie are a nomadic race. They have no home world. This is what will make them a difficult opponent. They have no home world or capital. They are also totally dedicated to war. They warship some blood god. Their religion resembles the Marlok old gods. Nothing like our God. They also have a vast fleet. We predict that if they invade us they could do a great deal of damage. We have a sizable fleet, but we predict that our fleet alone could not stop them. Especially if we send a fleet to Carda. They couldn't wipe us out. But they could definitely cut a swathe in our holdings." He stopped and waited for the inevitable question about the reliability of the Intelligence network.

"How did you acquire this info?" He asked. Yarz stared at him. It was always a Marlok who asked. "We've looked into them as a possible threat. We've seen them overrun entire worlds before. We are everywhere. We are always watching out for threats to our alliance.Trust me. It is reliable." Yarz then backed away.

Emar went back to the front. "So that settles it. We will mobilize the reserves and propose an invasion of Carda." Emar said. The council agreed and his plan was set in motion. Emar smiled. The Ventorie couldn't have come at a better time.

One by one the derelict vessel Sprouted its pods and guided them as best it could towards the UTA vessels awaiting them just beyond the battlespace. Their tiny figures bearly visible and hardly something that the enemy vessel would be giving a second thought as most likely the larger peices of debris floating about would be masking any scanner in the area. For now the crew that had esaped was safe from the slaughter which was still being wrought by the savage and deadly Ventorie warriors. On the Dreadheart, the crew which was unable to escape continued to fight a desperate battle for survival as one by one they where cut down by the unstoppable juggernaught that was the boarding parties.

On the bridge, or what was left of it, the few surviving crewmembers fought a deperate battle to keep the reactor system stable so the quantum foam from which the ship drew power did not ignite and take everyone with it to hell.

"Captain! Reactor core tempreture is reaching unstable levels! Thermal venting has lost effectiveness as the cooling tails have suffered extensive damage. Main hull vents are expelling as quickly as possible but without those tails being brought back online the foam will ignite! Engineering is not responding and localized I.F.F. singals indicate enemy forces are closing in on the area. I have rerouted a few squads to attempt to lead the boarders away from the reactor systems so a few technicions can begin work on stabilizing the foam cooling system!" called out an officer as she waved her hand from her face as to not breathe it in anymore than she had to.

Others where busy working on plans to re-direct power flows to certain systems to bring internal defense systems back online to give the resistance a fighting chance. Others where busy trying to see if other undamaged systems could be used as piggy back for others to bring engines and weapons back online. The Captian was busy as well trying to ensure the resistance outside had the best tactical information they could have using the few remaining cameras inside and outside the ship that still functioned.

(Hobbeebia Prime-Aeos system- Dragonia Palace)

Amid the extremely polished white rock floors and the massive clear crystal pillars which lined the room sat three thrones made of unblimished crystal of a deep red color, layered with brilliant white illuminesence of the hardlight pedestals and the untold amount of precious metals which colminated in a god-like statue of three men which supported the inner sanctum which which carved from the same white stone as the flooring with golden inlays throughout the walls in ornate inscriptions of a language so old, many had forgotten its meaning, the three Emperors of the Imperium sat in quite harmony with the sound of a thousand voices in chorus singing songs of prasie and joy for the Imperium. Around them the 12 mightest warriors of the Imperium stood in silent reverence to their eternal duty as Guardians of Light to the Imperial leadership and their kin.

With the days errands coming to an end the masses withdrew from the throne room and the military leadership entered from two side rooms coming together each making smooth, crisp movements facing inward towards their eternal Lords befre taking a knee with heads bowed. With the final men entered the Guardians took their place with the leadership as their head of command. The Emperors then rose from their thrones and spoke in deep voices in unison, which seemed to eminate from the very walls.

"WE are aware that you wish us to declare war against a threat known as the Ventorie... This name is known to us, but has not be heard in over 2000 years. Do we know why the Ventorie have atacked us? Have they made any demands?"

The Guardians leader, known as Aetherious Rynex, took a single step forward and answered their question.

"My great Lords, The Ventorie have made no demands, and we have given no reason from them to attack us. Their transgressions include attacking our outer territory outpost which is still ongoing as well as the murder of an ambassadors wife and young child while they attended the GESO founding meeting. We are investigating other possible incidents which may have instigated these attacks."

Then another spoke in a similar fashion...

"It is our wish to be given the authority to hunt down these animals and bring our peoples death to justice and bring peace to our nation. WE are also asking to you allow us to invoke the GESO's charter clause to bring the combined might of the GESO down upon these beasts so that they may know their error."

The Emperors looked to each other then back to the men before them. Then with a might rush they let loose their 6 wings then spoke

By our eternal command given to us by the God-kings of Sypherion, Aedious, and Remiel you are to use all the means we posses to eradicate all who bear the blood, name or alligence to the Ventorie and all their cohorts. use their blood to write a new page into history about pain and suffering. So that all others who bear witness will know their place.... now be gone"

The military leadership minus the Guardians stood once more and left the room as silently as they entered, for they had plans of battle to make.

"Why is that ship not under my control!?!" demanded a Ventorie of slightly larger stature than the rest as he slammed his fist into his chair which overlooked a much more sophisticated ships Command bridge where a number of more finely outfitted Ventorie worked diligently to provide constant information to other ship masters and the Mission Command who was thundering behind them. His armor was darker then the rest, older in appearance, but in many ways more advanced.

His helmet and armor was as black as night and covered in bandaleers of ammunition with a skull like image that seemed smeered upon it rather than purposely painted, with the skulls of fallen strung up as trophys of his victories. The one in question was known as Vekdel... Known as the Hunter of Kings and had a thrist for the skulls of worthy enemies and his friends.

One of the many drones who where working on the bridge turned and gave the Blood Prophet his answer.

"Our teams are encounering more resistance than expected. Initial attacks have caused damage to the ships power systems and we are trying to keep the ship from detonating. It seems that the Hobbeebians are trying to ensure the ship stays intact. I have routed remaining teams to capture and de-activate the ships reactors in order to stop the heating issues. We also receiving reports that we are in control of the station as well. Our engineers our tring to bring the stations weapon systems back online."

Vekdel slumped back into his chair rubbing his chin as if contemplating the situation...

"And what of this other fleet on the outer realm of the battle space? Have they moved in yet?"

The other Ventorie simply nodded "No" in response before returning back to his duties, leaving ekdel to ponder his next move. H moved to his Birdge center where a massive 3D map showed the battlespace and where a number of Smaller Hobbeebian vessels where changing colors to indicate that the crews within had been killed and the Ventorie boarders had taken control.

"I have no need for the small ones... Those ships will not serve us in their fullest... we need that Destroyer so that we may develop better ships ourselves. Turn those ships about and engage the Terran Vessels on the other battlespace. Use the ships to get close and then open fire. Give your lives for Khraawl! FOr if you come back I will consume you myself!"

///Back near the station///

The orders where clear attack the Terrans. The Ventorie onboard the ships-3 Hobbeebian Corvettes- moved the ships about and began making a line towards the Terran vessels which the escape pods where now making a move for. The Hobbeebian ships simply moved passed them while the last one began picking up the nearby pods hoping that them being picked up would keep the appearance that the Hobbeebian crews where still in control and simply trying to exit the battle.

"WE need to target the largest vessel as it is most likely the lead vessel. Focus all fire on that ship and prepare to repel boarders... activate the ships Anti-Teleportation systems to keep them from beaming onboard!"

One by one the closest pods where taken into the ship and they came within weapons range before slowly up a bit to reduce suspection of ill-intent. One by one they moved into a loose formation facing the Terran fleet. The Ventorie inside where hushed as they began targeting the largest terran vessel... the Jutland Battleship.

"Weapons systems are online...I think. System indicates a weapon known as the Quantum Mirco-Singularity Missiles and Hardlight Projectors. All are targeting the Battleship!" announced one of the Ventorie who seemed to be controlling the weapons station, as they manipulated the ethereal controls. The one who seemed to be in control gave a ugly snarl and gave a booming command.

"All weapons.... Fire!"

At once nearly 900 Ultra fast missiles and untold numbers of ultra-dense hardlight projectiles towards the Jutland and its two Cooling wings. The ship themselves at full power rocketed towards the the Jutland at ramming speed... if the missiles didn't do the job... the equally large Hobbeebian Corvettes would.
