"We've got a some of our troops injured, but s far as I know, we've not got any fatalaties at this point, not from the Dismounts either way, I heard over the comms that some of the Gunships have gone down" The Sergeant replied "We're dug in pretty well by now, we're planning to demolish a building to make a place for helos to land for Medevac"
The Sergeant smiled.
"We'll pay you back"

The chrisman union wrote:"The Union's much warmer down south," replied Larant, ignoring the Moralite's laugh, "Up in the mountain's it's a bit chilly this time of year. I could get you some cold weather gear, if you need it."

"We're fine. The stripped down trench coats should do the trick. However, we still need to meet with your commander." Decimus also motioned to Lev. "And find somewhere to keep the prisoner. I can't lug him around the entire time, you know."

'm ashamed at the quality of this, but its the best I can do at the moment, I don't have a lot of time here.

The men dragging him into the control tower laughed, escorting him down various hallways until they reached a small holding cell at the bottom of the carrier. Pushing him in the small, bare room, they slammed the door shut and locked it. The only source of light came from a single lightbulb hanging from the cieling, which also gave the only source of heat.

=

The cruise missile slammed into one of the main MLRS sites, taking outout two immediately and damaging a third beyond repair. With their position given away, the remaining groups prepared for a final launch before they moved their position to avoid taking further, more expensive casualties.

=

The regiment pushed foward towards the village, lobbing their shells at the Jerradion armor and dug down infantry. The Apaches continued the assault on the gunships and drop ships, enemy fire knocking another 2 out of the sky. Defesian aircraft pounded the Jerraddion positions, the dogfight in the air growing in intensity.

=

Lev sighed, passive to everything that was going on. He gazed around the complex, taking in the various men and women working about the place, ignoring the conversation between the Moralites and the Chrismans.

A heavy blow to the gut swapped Lev's attention away from his surronding's. "Sorry sir, caught the bastard trying to escape." Draco removed his fist from Lev, only to met with a killing stare by Decimus. "Tiberius, help me out here, you saw it, right?" Tiberius shook his head in disgust. "Decimus, believe me, he was trying to-"

"Draco. I need to speak to you. Alone." Draco paled two or three shades at this. "S-s-sir, please... It's the truth, dammit, I-I..." Draco stammered as he followed Decimus right out of earshot. After what seemed to be much shouting from Decimus and the appropriate amount of cowering from Draco, they both returned to the group of Unionites and Moralites. "Sir, I'd like to request that you keep Draco here as well. He seems to be having psychological problems due to the nature of our last mission, and taking it out on the prisoner. I'll have him properly examined when I get back to the islands, but for now I'd be much obliged if you could keep him here."

"That's fine, we can keep him here," replied Larant, slightly shaken by Draco's bullying of the prisoner, "No room for brutality in a modern army, of course. Last I heard Captain Jeagan's in the War Room with the Jeraddonian commander, I'd go there to look for him. Take the prisoner with you, I'm sure he'd like to know about him."

*******

Gregarson dived to the floor, a string of MLRS rounds slamming into the ground. Rockets had flattened the front three houses and a Puma IFVs was slowly starting to burn, its crew bailing out of the hatches. The clatter of AK-101s could be heard and the faint outlines of Defesian soldiers could be seen on the horizon. "Ah! This couldn't have come at a worse time!" exclaimed Gregarson, "All units, form a defensive perimeter around the village. Don't let any Defesians pass!" The tanks moved off the road, forming a defensive box round the village, targeting the real threat, the enemy tanks. One exploded as a string of anti tank rockets slammed into it from the Defesian air cover. Infantry used the ruined buildings as cover, setting up G290 HMGs and MILAN rocket launchers. Rockets and gunfire streaked from the Chrismanic positions in an attempt to hold back the Defesian tide.

******

Maran slumped against the hard, stone cold wall of the ship's brig. A single lightbulb dangled from the ceiling, filling the room with an intense white light. It flickered from time to time as a moth tried to land on it, bathing the room in darkness for a second. Maran began to shiver in his soaked flightgear. How did they manage to make it so cold in here? This was no way to treat a human being...weren't there treaties or something against this sort of thing? He'd report the conditions to his superiors if he didn't die in this hellhole. But if he got out, he could spy on the Defesian high command from within their own ship! It be just like the movies! Maran began searching through his meager possessions in hope of finding a lockpick or something. A broken wristwatch, a wallet with 20 cheeseloafs worth of notes and half a bar of chocolate. Hardly the tools to escape from a heavily guarded aircraft carrier.

"Thank you for your help." Decimus nodded and motioned for the rest of the squad to follow him, giving Lev a light nudge forward as he moved. Tiberius remained behind along with Draco, confiscating knives, grenades, and firearms before shaking his head in disgust and moving off with the rest of the group. Draco, much less imposing without the variety of weaponry he carried around with him and with no gas mask, he stood by the copter looking uneasily at Larant.

There was a sound of footsteps aproaching the cell, then the door to the room was suddenly yanked open, and a Defesian sailor stepped inside the door frame, glaring at Maran with his eyes, the barrel of a 9mm trained on his chest.

"Undress, and hand me your clothes" He commanded evenly in english.

Humilation method AND a way to search thru his clothes. It's NOT going to turn into anything beyond that.

==

Lev grunted as the blow hit his gut, air rushing from his lungs, he kneeled over and heaved, trying to bring the air back into his lungs. After a moment of what felt like hours, he managed a shaky breath, his routine of breathing coming back to normal. He shook his head slightly and placed a hand on his gut, moving foward when he was nudged, taking slightly shaky steps.

==

The T-90 rolled down the ruined streets of what was once a quiet suburban area, a squad of Rangers following behind closely, AK-101s sweeping across the houses before a Chrisman rocket slammed into the side of the T-90, knocking it out instantly. The squad immediately dove behind it and lobbed grenades towards the house, letting out sparradic bursts from their 101's.
As a whole, the attack was turning against them, the force was told to bog down and wait, the 3rd Mechanized batallion had just been unloaded, and was hauling ass from the beach towards the suburbs, hoping to steamroll through the lines and shatter the defense.

ooc:
I need like, a map or something for the resources Chrisman has. oil fields, power plants ect. That is what I'm going for after all.

OOC: What Jeraddo Armor?

IC:

The Entrenched troops kept their heads down as the enemy continued to fire numerous shells and other weapons at them. THe Machine gun posts and snipers were raining lead down on enemy troops that came across their path. The Jeraddo presnece in the town was a sphere, towards the centre of the district. Around the Perimter Heavy Troops came witht the Anti-Tank weapons and began to target enemy tanks.

Meanwhile, the F-420's Consolodated their formation and went after the ground attack aircraft threatening the ground troops.

The Major smiled as he received a situation report from the Second Group. They were incoming. The Gunships went ahead to releave pressure on the gunships already present, the Transporters used this distraction to move their birds over the Drop zone. Whilst some troops were dropped in the Sphere, the Pilots knew better than to stay in one place for too long, so some troops were dropped outside, and would have to work their way in, thankfully, they had been put down the oppistate side of the Sphere to the enemy troop.

ooc: Sorry, guess 30 minutes of sleep makes me mix things up. Got a good 8 hours now, quality should be a little better.

As soon as the F-420's dropped their altitude to concentrate on the supporting gunships, they immediately retreated towards the city to the safety of the Patriot style anti air recently set up, in response to the growing agitation caused by Chrisman cruise missles. A formation of RAF Typhoons sped towards the area, moving to intercept the enemy air support before the ground troops got hammered.

=

The situation was deteriorating. The regiment was at a stalemate, trying to push through the suburbs with Chrisman and Jerrado forces holding them back. Shifting from offense to an aggressive defense, soldiers hunkered down in houses, craters, behind tanks, or anything they could find. Several motar teams set up in the rear, and a few shells shot off into the air. After awhile, even more began shooting off into the enemy lines, until it became like rainfall.

The Major swore as Motor fire began to rain down on them. He walked outside and across the street, regardless of the weapons fire to his motor team. He gave them orders and they set up and began to fire back. Meanwhile he found a four-man special forces squad. These men were members of the Ghost Special Operations Force, and were the most highly trained Special forces soldiers in teh US armed forces. They nodded and they heded out of the Jeraddo area, taking the backstreets and began to head towards the enemy postion, idealy a building where they could snipe the enemy mortor teams. It would also allow them to direct fire n the enemy, and not give away their postion.

Meanwhile, the twenty or so F-420's broke of their attack and vectored to slam into the enemy Typhoons. The Squadron quickly assumed a firing posture and fired of a salvo of four missiles apeice, sending eighty odd missiles at the enemy aircraft, then switched to guns to dogfight.

In the Middle of the Ocean, Far Away From The Warzone
0931 Hours

Two Kalakdan oil tankers, the Pravoud and the St. Paul, were sailing across the ocean. The two immense vessels were far away from shore, and the crew on both thought they were safe. The tankers were heading towards Greater Americania, which was several weeks away and the crews had been at sea for three days. Aboard the Pravoud, two sailors were on a balcony on the bridge side of the ship, staring at the open ocean. Fredrick Stanton, an immigrant from Arivada, and Abdul Ben-Jaleef, a Kalamack, a Turkish people indignant to Kalakda, were chatting about various things. "Boy, I am so bored. I can't believe we aren't going to have breakfast today! Can't wait for lunch!", whined Stanton, "Me too!", agreed Ben-Jaleef. Meanwhile, on the bridge, Captain Andrew Beck was getting worried about something. Because of the current war going on in the Chrisman Union, he was worried of the possibility of rogue planes attacking them, thinking they were enemy ships.

Suddenly, Lieutenant Glenn O'Reilly told him that there are contacts on radar. Frightened by the terrifying possibility, Captain Beck grabbed his binoculars and ran outside, and Lieutenant O' Reilly followed. O'Reilly pointed in the direction that the contacts were headed, and so the captain looked in that direction. His heart sank when he saw the black specks headed toward them fast, and he ordered that the ships turn into the attackers. It was too late, however, as the fighters overtook the ships, and several fighters launched anti-ship missiles. Some of the missiles missed and hit the water, but most of them hit home, the majority impacting the Pravoud, causing the ship to buckle. Then, a huge fountain of fire erupted and shot hot sparks high into the air, then a massive explosion rocked the ship, causing it to split in half. Stanton, Ben-Jaleef, Captain Beck, Lieutenant O'Reilly, and others leaped into the sea. And the remains of the tanker began to sink beneath the waves.

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc58 ... inking.jpg

Meanwhile, several transport helicopters managed to drop off troops on board the St. Paul, where they disembarked and began storming the ship. All 120 crew members were taken prisoner, and the tanker was captured. The surviving crew members from the Pravoud, including Stanton, Ben-Jaleef, Beck, and O'Reilly, were snatched from the water. The fighters headed back toward the mainland, and the transports, now carrying the Pravoud's survivors followed suit, and last the St. Paul, now supporting troops to keep the prisoners in order, follows the aircraft. The captain of the St. Paul, Demetri Ruskotov, looks back at the wreckage of the Pravoud, worrying of the huge environmental and economic damage the sinking might cause. Some 62 sailors and some 15 soldiers are lost, the latter died when their helicopter took damage from the explosion and crashed into the sea, none survived. It will only be a matter of time before word of this incident gets out.

OOC: I am really, really sorry about the lack of posts. Inundated with homework. The ANCU is located near the boundry between the Northern and Southern hemisphere (think mediterranean), but Ceyn is quite far in the north.

IC: "Ah, good evening," said Jeagan, greeting the Moralite contingent, "My name is Captain Roger Jeagan, commander of ANCU forces in the Ceyn theatre." Jeagan pressed a button on one of the War Room's many computer terminal, and a map of the area flashed up on the screen.

Image

"This is Ceyn, the island we're currently fighting over. The Defesians have set up camp in the city of Allou, the capital of the island which they brutally smashed. Allied forces are in heavy contact with the enemy in the suburbs on the outskirts of the city, trying to stop them gaining any more ground. I've been thinking about sending a special operations unit into the city to attempt to disrupt and sabotage enemy supply lines, communication, command, etc. Maybe even sink that big ol' carrier they got down there."

******

Gregarson winced as a mortar shell blasted out a large house, sending masonry and the bodies of Chrismanic soldiers sheltering within across the street. The fortified houses of the Chrismanic defenses were easy targets for the enemy mortars. The Defesian infantry was falling back and the bombardment was intensifying. They're just going to flatten the place, houses and all, thought Gregarson. The spotters for the mortars could just be seen over the horizon, directing fire from an elevated position. Jeraddonian special forces were moving to snipe them. A good move, but the suburbs would be bombed flat before they could get into a position. "Command, requesting destroyer fire mission over on mortar spotters at grid Bravo 47 over," shouted Gregarson into his earpiece.
"Roger that, rounds away," replied the light voice of one of the Chrismanic fleet's fire officers. Several blossoms of smoke appeared on the horizon, marking where the shells had landed. Gregarson prayed they had found their mark.

A squadron of 15 C-12 Seneca (a Chrismanic built advancement on the Eurofighter Typhoon) flew over the ravaged suburbs and targetted the Defesian aircraft. "This C-12 Seneca callsign Cottonmouth to all Jeraddonian F-420s, we've come to relieve you and allow you to land and rearm."

*******

Maran opened his mouth to protest, but realized that would be a waste of time. He took of his clothes and handed them to the sailor. He'd never been so embarrased in his life. How the hell did he manage to get in a situation like this?

The chrisman union wrote:"The plant's currently undefended, as the fighting is currently quite far off from it," replied Jeagan, "I'd rather keep my forces as close to the frontline as possible, rather than guarding a power plant miles from the conflict zone. I'm happy to lend you use of one of our Merlins in the hopefully unlikely event things go sour. As for explosives, I'd take as much as you can carry without hindering your movement and combat effectiveness."

"Fine with us." The Moralites continued attaching silencers and checking blades. "Tiberius, leave the mortar." Tiberius frowned and nodded, taking a few parts out of his pack.

(Forgive me, it'll be a bit before I get back into the flow of things.)
======

After gathering Maran's clothing and supplies, he walked out and closed the door, making sure it was impossible for Maran to open from the inside. Nothing was left but the cold, bare walls. The single hanging lightbulb illuminating the depressingly grey stell walls.

The fire from the Chrisman destroyer proved mostly ineffective, the motar teams too entrenched to take heavily losses. They did however, manage to destroy a small garrison of Defesian Rangers, sending earth and bodies flying throughthe air. The Defesian defense all along the frontline was getting hammered, and they feared the Chrisman and Jerrado forces would push through before the incoming regiment could relieve them.
A call went throughout the suburbs, "Retreat!", "Fall back!".

Defesian Rangers and vehicles began their hasty retreat, scrambling to get back into the ruined capital as they continued to get slaughtered. RAF Typhoons turned tail and fled back, the whole Defesian line was retreating.

Chrisman coastline
Silently cruising at launch depth, the Vanguard class submarine Wolf IV came to a stop. A single Trident II missile shot out of the water, screaming towards the suburbs where the opposing forces had managed to holdback the Defesian push outward. Seeing no other choice, other than face being run off the island, the decision was made to launch a single, short range tactical nuclear missile. It was hoped the ensuing choas, and disorder would buy enough time to knock out as many comminication and power systems as possible before the enemy had time to reorganize.
The missile screamed across the sky, giving anyone left a minute and 25 seconds left.

Gregarson slowly emerged from the crater he'd been sheltering in. The gunfire had stopped, and an unusual quiet had settled over the suburban settlement. As far as the eye could see, Defesian forces were in full retreat. "Gregarson, what's your company's status?" warbled his comlink, "need any help?"
"I can't believe it!" said Gregarson, "They're retreating, we've won!" Several Chrismanic infantrymen had emerged from their fortified dwellings, raising their rifles victoriously in the air. The battle was done, and they could return home.

But then, a streak of fire rose over the ruined cityscape, a dirty red smear against the smog filled sky. The sound of rocket exhausts followed the trail, growing louder and louder as the object got closer and closer to the suburbs. Gregarson's stomach filled with fear as he realized what the object was. "Tactical Nukes!" he shouted, "Tactical nukes godammit! Get to the tanks, get to the tanks!"

Suddenly, a second sun appeared over Allou. For several seconds, the world was silent, almost peaceful. But then, the sheer destructive force of the nuclear blast was unleashed on the suburbs of Allou. Homes, makeshift military fortifications, landmarks and town centers which had stood since the dawn of the ANCU, were wiped from the earth in seconds, the violence of the weapon eliminating years of progress and human ingenuity. Helicopters and aircraft plummeted from the sky, their engines fried by the electromagnetic pulse of the nuke. About 940 members of the Chrismanic Armoured Infantry company was KIA in those few seconds of total destruction.

Gregarson slowly opened his eyes. He had managed to bundle himself in a Leopard 2, mere seconds before the nuke went off. "Holy crap," he breathed, "They just nuked us!" As emergency power began to kick in and the EMP effect of the nuke began to wear off, chatter from other squads began to pour into Gregarson's comlink. Calls for orders, calls for help, calls for salvation. Gregarson knew these sounds all too well. It was the awful sound an army made when it began to fall apart.

President Veldt sighed as he read the report from the Ceynite theatre. The conflict had finally gone nuclear. The Defesians had turned this conflict from a flashpoint engagement over oil to a full scale war. And there was no telling where they would stop now. They probably had ICBMs aimed at all of the ANCU's major cities, ready slaughter millions of innocents. The government's job was to serve and protect its citizens, no matter what the cost. Even if it was their sovereignty. Veldt called in his secretary, "Get the Defesian chancellor on the line....tell him we want to negotiate."

The mushroom cloud was already beginning to bend from the wind, and the Defesians, who had been given more warning, had taken less losses then predicted. Only about 200 Defesian soldiers had been KIA instead of the much larger number that had been predicted. Two tanks had been rather deep into the suburbs, and were knocked out before given the chance to get to safety. The crew, save for being knocked around by the shockwave, was mostly unharmed, and ewaited extraction.
Now that the Chrisman forces were in total dissaray, the Defesian war machine began its quick and efficient spread outward, moving around the area affected by the SRBM, and almost completely ignoring the area the dust and fallout was falling, they pushed outward, slamming into any remaining forces still in the area while barely giving time to rest. The remaining enemy forces were to be mopped up and eliminated.

Homeland
Chancellor Nathaniel sat smugly behind his desk, the enemy was now in complete choas, the mop up operation already in progress. He was sure the Chrisman goverment was cowering in fear, terrified that there were even more missiles aimed at their cities, ready to wipe them out. But the Chancellor wasnt a fool, he knew the consequences of such a thing. Even this will have reppercussions. But the benifits outweighed the risk.
He shook his head slightly, he needed a clear mind for the following speech.

Don't yell "GOD MOD!"
This is propoganda.

6 minutes later
The Chancellor stood behind a podium, his aged face showing determination, pride, and a hint of smugness.

"My fellow countrymen. You have most likely already heard whispers of what has occured today. I stand before you with the task of bringing the facts of what has happened today into the light. The Defesian war machine is mighty, every attempt of invasion on our home soil has been stopped. Every enemy pushed back. Our war's abroad bring news of victory, as we liberate oppressed peoples and show them the beacon of hope that is Defese. All the world knows of our determination, our efficency, and they bow low before us.
The war in The Chrisman Union started out with victory after victory. Enemy forces became scattered and sought shelter within their forests, their mountains, their caves. But nothing can hide from us. We uprooted the resistance to our occupation, and mounted perilous rescue missions to save kidnapped Chrisman people being used as hostages and human shields in the enemies desperate attempts to slow us down.
And it is with great honor that I bring you the following declaration. We have won."

Several cheers erupt from the crowd, and the chancellor smiled, letting it die down a bit before continuing, nothing but pride in his voice.

"The brave men and women of the Armed Forces have liberated the island nation of Ceyn from The Chrisman Union. The oppressed peoples have risen up in arms to aid us, and we have successfully pushed out the corrupt Chrisman goverment. Our Armed Forces will remain stationed on the island, to assure the security of the people there, and to aid in reconstruction efforts. Our might has been shown, and now we may offer freedom, and prosperity to the liberated people of Ceyn."

Nathaniel walked out of the room, the booming cheers of the crowd hindering the efforts of the goverment sponsored news crews to get any form of speech from the enthuesiastic reporters.

Back at the office
An aide had let him know of Veldt's efforts to get into contact with him. Easing into his chair, he picked up the phone, and spoke in a carefree voice.

"Please patch me to Chrisman president Veldt please."

"Yes Chancellor."

"Decimus! Get out here!" Decimus ran outside, recognizing Draco's voice amidst the clamor outside. What he saw next struck him dumb and still. Tiberius and the rest of his men were close on his heels, and their reaction was more lively. "Christ almighty..." Tiberius muttered a short phrase softly and tinged with fear.

"Dies iræ! dies illa
Solvet sæclum in favilla
Teste David cum Sibylla!"

OOC: From an old hymn:

Day of wrath! O day of mourning!
See fulfilled the prophets' warning,
Heaven and earth in ashes burning!

IC:

"Tiberius." Decimus began to shake uncontrollably. "If this is indeed the end... No, all of you... It's been an honor." Tiberius shook his head, as he often did. "Sir, the blast radius couldn't have been that large. What's more likely is that explosion in this distance was tactical rather than strategic. We should have a few hours before these islands erupt into full thermonuclear war. You should alert the Senate." Decimus did his best to calm himself down, to steady his hand and his breathing. "Thank you Tiberius, you're right. Can't panic. Control."

Decimus breathed in and out slowly, pressing down on his radio. "Honorable Senator Sirs, we need an extraction vehicle ASAP. The Defesians have initiated Nuclear warfare against the Unionites. Tiberius suggests we have only a few hours left." After a short dash of static, Senator Gaius' voice came over the radio. "I hear you loud and clear, are you certain? We're sending another Chinook, see what you can find out in the meantime. You might want to find a bunker, we've two days until the Chinook can get there."
