I just thought of a metaphor for the Artificials.

Just as our culture is predicted to run into a technological singularity, the culture of the Artificials has reached this point. The point at which life and technology begins to overlap. Think of the Artificials as reverse cyborgs. They are robots, that have begun replacing some of their bodies with organic like organs.

Brought into the world by the holy creators (aka Sarthal) as a last ditch effort to fight off the swarms of darkness. The creators left Athla/Ethlan, and abandoned the Artificials to the glassed wasteland. The Artificials revere their creators, and over the 3,000 years have changed their bodies to become more and more like organic organisms. They have specialized organs, "blood", and think like you and me, but they still aren't biological.

EDIT: Ninja'd by Sarthal

Ah yes, Athla. Though the Swarm knows it by a different name: 'Aehdhre'.

I want to name one of my RP threads "...Therefore I Am...". It would explore the morality of the Artificials, and pose the question, do they have souls?

I really don't now how I'm going to get all deep with the Rothians. Any ideas?

Also I will say it's my current government that its new, The Rithians have had many empires in history.

I'm thinking that the Artificials don't even truly understand what they are. They think of themselves as alive, and they think of organics as gods. Just as we view ourselves, composed of cells, alive. It's hard to explain what I'm saying but, just as Adam is no God, but merely created in the image of one. So too are the Artificials, created in the image of their gods, seeing themselves as a normal organism.

Lol, I like getting all deep. In another RP Group, I had three gendered organisms, and I was planning on exploring the social consequences of such a reproductive system. Unfortunately that group died before I got the chance.

Unfortunately, or rather fortunately for myself, my body lacks specialized internal organs. I have instead incorporated your 'lance' into myself and will seek, in the language of your own people as demonstrated, to show you my thanks.

Friend, is spilling your entrails a method of communication amongst your species? I must remark it to be rather queer as a method of speech, and indeed it would seem quite painful."

That would be kinda bad, although I'd be more interested in seeing how you would handle the energy pulse when my character triggers it. It is designed to blow people apart from the inside-out and all that.

Of course being left standing there without a weapon with a dumb look on his face would be fairly funny as well.

Such a question would puzzle the Colours to no end.

That question would make this:
Fungus: Whats a soul?
Fungus 2: Something that all life supposedly has that gives them minds, reasons, and knowledge of good and evil
Fungus: So our opposite?
Fungus 2: Yes

That is very interesting. The Colours themselves will not be sure of what the Artificials are. Can a being with no flesh, and thus no soul, be capable of creating one?

That entirely depends. A soul, as understood by the Ascended, is not an inherent quality of any being. All sapient creatures possess the spark of the divine, given to them by the breath of the All-Sire. Whether Potentials corrupt that flame or walk in the Light determines if they truly bear the touch of the Omnissah, the Almighty descended to swell in our hearts.
