A separate scouting party to the one in the south of Cumbria complete with 5,000 troops heads further than before to claim the small peninsula and the opposite land that enables our control over access to sea in the middle of the largest landmass.

It was an amazing sight.

The construction crews had been working in shifts throughout the night; working under the large spotlights that had been brought from the company vessels, they continued to prepare the land, and ultimately finished constructing the first building that would be part of the Warwick General Headquarters for the colony. The building itself was not that impressive, however. Roughly 3 floors high, it didn't seem to have any remarkable features overall, as it was just a prefabricated building assembled on-site, much like the typical steel lawn shed. Not surprisingly, the building still lacked a power supply, as the engineers were still carefully preparing to finish the assembly of the "pocket" nuclear reactor. Once finished, it would be capable of providing up to 50 Megawatts of energy, sufficient for all the needs of the little colony for the time being.

Heavy machinery began to expand the perimeter of the base camp by taking down the trees around the construction site. They would shove their blades below the tree's roots, and uproot them with relative ease. The remaining tree trunks would then be removed by cranes, and placed in a reserve area, where they would later be processed for wood once the facilities necessary were set up. During this time, surveyors from the Commonwealth State Geological Survey had departed with a small team of Marines deep into the colonial territory, in order to locate and secure possible interest sites such as precious metals, commodity goods; or Warwick's real interest - Gold. Although a mix of all of them would be perfect for the company, rising gold prices meant that such a find would be pretty profitable in the long term.

Meanwhile, farther up north, a squadron of Marines from the destroyer Nonna - the only ship defending the company fleet - had been deployed to secure the area marked by scouting choppers the past day. Although the area was substantially far from the colonial territory, the Marines would still enjoy the "relative comfort" of Nonna's cruise missiles, given they were well within range of her firing radius. It was reported to be an extended operation, as the Marines packed plenty of food and items vital for their survival. Their mission; to secure a landing site for the second wave of company ships inbound for the colony. "I wish those fellas godspeed", mentioned the Captain as he was asked about the Marines. He smirked a bit and adjusted his cap, looking confident prior to continuing, "those militaristic nutjobs are far enough from our camp for us to relax...it looks like we drew the right straw..."

OOC: You shouldn't be so quick to accuse someone of having too many troops, HD. I'd say your air contingent deployed is too large for a nation of 7 million.

The construction of the new Military base is finished and has about 500 scientists working on astronaut suits that do not limit movement and can be used for combat. Experimental Prototypes show significant progess but still aren't fully functional. one brave man tested the suit in future space station Artemis and the suit lost air function. His body has yet to be found but we know can further advance this suit.

Matta settles the area west of Matta's claim. They send 5,000 troops to secure it. They also bring 500 settlers to start a town in the center of the new claim. also 300 tanks, 500 military jeeps, and 20 jets come to the new claim to protect it.

Then again, to be fair, some posters here have brought massive military forces which begs the question as to whether they are leaving their homeland defenseless.
