I would have the government start persecuting the citizens of the country.

Why and how?

You could always just remove the bishop by assassination/coup and make his successor a hardliner determined to root out heresy. It's like the Honda Civic of theocracy plots: comfortable, safe, but not very exciting. My other suggestion would be tensions between the moderate ruling elite and a radical, fringe group that leads to a reevaluation of state policies to themselves be more radical.

Have the succesor start persecuting almost all of the citizen making a majority of people against the government and Bam you have a revolution

But why is he persecuting them? How did he get into office if he was going to persecute the entire populace? In what way is he persecuting them? Sure, you might get a revolution, but it needs to be plausible.

have the successor be ultra-dogmatic and view most of the population as heretics and blasphemers

Okay. So he views them as heretics and blasphemers. What does he do? Does he start an Inquisition?

I was thinking of an RP where an experiment goes array and sends some MT people into my world which is pre industrial, see what happens when modern power meets fantastical might.

Located near the edge of the delta itself is the capital of the Dragon Empire, and from miles and miles out in all directions lays the the foundations of the nation itself. Various other smaller kingdoms and republics exist, with the two largest besides the Empire, being Thorolund and Astora. Tensions are low at the moment, but people suspect treachery is amidst, duke has come forward to confirm a force being sent, armies are practically being born in dependent nations, and a technological arms race to gain the advantage over enemies heats up. Little do the citizens of the world know however is that time is shifting once more, dimensions open apart, and a gateway is created in the world. It will be through this gateway that the modern players will discover our world, its horrors and secrets, and even its curious wonders.

"This land is peaceful, its inhabitants kind, but thou dost not belong."

A possible arms race could begin on both sides, nations scramble for the advanced tech of the visitors and work to make themselves known, while players, both of governments abound, and behind the scenes wish to obtain the ancient sorcories of the ancient realm of former fantasy. Its a fun little RP, it won't have to be canon for the MT players if interested, but it would be nice if it was a separate canon like I am doing, any PT nation of a similar medieval flavor or below is also more than welcome to join in order to fill out gaps or added interest.

I have this RP here which concerns a celebrity (an Astholm celebrity) and her friends staying in a villa, and visiting the nation, at a time when its independence is being called into question, and whether it becomes a part of Astholm or not.

Is anyone interested in this sort of RP - a character-driven, cultural RP, where there's no emphasis on diplomacy/military, but on normal, everyday folk as characters?

I'm trying to do an RP that goes canon on my nation...

I'm just not sure whether to make it a diplomatic RP or a war RP.

You could probably have elements of both if you write it well enough

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Thinking of a first contact RP, fleshed out map, some events, etc.

And of course aliens.

I am thinking of a Modern Tech RP with alternate history: As example, instead of, let's say, France, there will be your nation, and things like that. So, you basically RP with your own nation. The year is 2020, and, basically, every continent has different nations. What do you say? :)

I stumbled across this UNIQUE, NEVER DONE BEFORE style of RP.
My mind is actually blown on how creative this guy is:

Hello, would you check this RP if you have time? It only takes a couple minutes. :)

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=326954

Helsary is a military dictatorship, and after the leader of the underground ''Helsarian Democratic Movement'' got arrested and summarily executed, the whole country is ravaged by popular looting and anarchy.
Reports of military soldiers slaughtering civilians by thousands have leaked out of Helsary, and recently the government has used a chemical missile on the Revolution Square in Beelziker City, Helsary's capital, in an attempt to stop the riots, killing around 20.000 people.

In a broadcast by the office of civil relations, the government has blamed ''communist terrorists'' for the chemical attack, even though the truth has already made it out of Helsary via international media.

Let me know what you think, please. :D

I have a RP here which centres around a hostage situation, however, what makes it different is it covers two countries, the building it is in straddles the border.

How could I make this workable?

I'm thinking of doing an RP where my transhumanist space station encounters aliens and gains access to FTL. Maybe refugees show up asking for asylum, maybe smugglers want to use us as a waystation, maybe a small gang of pirates want to raid us with superior technology? Would anyone be interested in something like that?

I've had a general idea for an RP that I'd like to do, and I thought I'd check in here both to check who'd be interested and to get some feedback.
The basic premise is that a neighbouring nation to Castoba basically collapses. I don't know exactly what from (coup/failed coup, general civil unrest, economic crisis, all of the above?), but the place would have been quite unstable and basically in the shitter for a couple of decades previously, and some event just causes the whole already-fragile state to fall apart. Castoba would have an interest in some sort of intervention for two reasons:

1. Being that this place is right next door, the government would prefer not to have the place totally go to hell. There would likely be cross-border violence (to a small extent), as well as a massive refugee crisis.
2. There are some nuclear and/or chemical weapons in the country, and it would be wise to secure them.

Whoever else felt like getting involved in this may have the same concerns, or they may have their own set of issues/opportunities presented by the situation. Anyone who wants to take part could do so at any level they want. Putting troops on the ground (In cooperation with others, or unilaterally), making a primarily non-military contribution, having a purely intelligence or economic role, whatever you want.

Anybody interested? Anybody got any suggestions or ideas?

Edit: Forgot to add, this is a strictly MT, human thing (Sorry space-lizzards).

White Rose Army Academy.
  • Character RP
  • Mostly focus on army officer training.
  • Also enables players to create their own stories within the background setting. (Sandbox concept).
  • Good training ground for new comer who wish to learn about army fighting.

If it's about a total economic collapse of the nation and/or civil war/revolution, I'll join.
