Would anyone be interested in some sort of huge pirate-terrorist attacks, with lots of foreign intervention and things?

Basic idea:
Just outside a countries territorial waters, in a popular trade route and vacation spot, a large group of pirates, armed to the teeth attack and capture several large ships, including a cruise ship. Holding the people for ransom, the pirates demand a huge amount of money, and the nations nearby are forced to act.

What the RP would be:
How will countries react? will they try to negotiate the release of their citizens? Launch an all-out raid on the ships? Bomb the ship and attempt to rescue survivors? Sneak in covert ops personnel, to try and sneak people off?

This is just an idea I had, thought it would be nice to have something besides the usual "Bob invades Joe" RP

So there are a lot of RPGs with weird creatures, but they are usually either in the past and there is a bunch of impossible magic (Fantasy genre) or in the far future where the creatures are called aliens and there is a bunch of impossible science (Sci-fi genre). How about a modern world with modern technology, but fictional places and creatures. For example, the elite military division for my country is the "Dragoneers," who ride dragons, but also carry fully-automatic machine guns and use modern radar equipment to locate other aircraft. The problem is, that does not fit in with any existing roleplay, would anyone be interested in helping me make a new one?

As for the storyline, thinking some empire threatens to invade me, I call for help, and see where it goes from there. If someone would be interested in being that empire, please TG me, and I will start a forum.

If you had modern technology you wouldn't be riding dragons. Ever heard of a AIM-7 missile? How about a Tunguska? Your dragons would have a very hard time (in fact, impossible time) overcoming a squadron of AWACS-assisted fighters. This would be more like the anime Through the Gate, where the JSDF invades a magical realm and kills everything that moves.

Furthermore, why would they carry machine guns if the dragons can breath fire? Where is the ammunition stored on said dragons? What happens if it rains?

In the light of the new game HOMEWORLD: Deserts of Kharak, I have created this nation, I plan to create such a roleplay that encompasses the events during the game. As I enjoyed this game thoroughly this RP will be more along the lines of a Alt.Universe RP.

The Idea would be Nations would either A. Create there own Kiith (Family Clan) or B. Select one of the many already canon clans available and role play the events of the game. This being said I don't plan on it being the exact same however if the events end up finishing that way then so be it. Regardless I hope this would be an interesting Pre spaceflight FT RP.

In this alternate history, Rome (me) is surrounded by the Germanic Empire in the North, a resurgent Persian Empire in the East, the Scots in the West, and several North African factions (I'll leave their names up to the players). This is a mostly battlefield RP, though a little politics would be welcomed. The Asian empires of Japan, China, Korea, and India do exist and can play a role in events in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Was thinking of doing a MT RP, probably involving reasonable invasion of some sort, revolving around how a democratic society is ravaged by socialist and facist riots daily, with the corrupt government being forced into a position as the two political parties began to get massive and violent, daily fights break out on the streets, the government calling foreign assistance. You would be able to assist either the Government or the parties opposing the government. Either would have an actual influence of how I ran the nation and made decisions in the issues, more left or right leaning. Obviously at first, it would simply be diplomatic affair, but eventually break out into urban warfare.

Hi, not sure if anyone's actually going to find this post, but I have an awesome idea for a new RP. I'ts called: The Empire. Right now, I'm GAUGING INTEREST as well as advertising my RP.

Here's the rules and stuff.

Across the myriad universes, there lies the Empire. It is the wake of the Industrial Era. Magic and technology are at your disposal. Amid gangleaders, politicians, colonialists and army officers, you find yourself caught in the middle of a deadly game of political intrigue. Will you fight for your own agenda? Or will you kneel before those who call themselves 'master'?

Gameplay:
You have 6 major factions in the game:
City guard (Cops and Soldiers) who are the most technologically advanced.
Native Giants of the recently colonised Winerpol island.
The Croft Gang which is a massive criminal network.
The Inquisition which is the local mage (wizard) organisation and hope to keep magic for the rich.
The Clergy who worship the Pantheon in exchange for a portion of their divine favour and might.
The Wildmen of the Fae Wood who are your typical protectors of the forest and utilise a complex mixture of magic, animal handling, archery and alchemy to maintain their hold over the forest.

Basically, you can choose to be a part of 2 factions at the start of the game. Over time, you can gain membership in a maximum of 2 more factions. Different skill sets belong to different factions. E.g. City Guard=Martial Combat+Leadership, Inquisition=Arcane Magic+Scholarly talents, Clergy=Divine Magic+Religiousness


Character-based:
This is not a nation wars thread, this is a character-based RP thread. You can create your own character with a set of skills at his disposal and with a simple backstory. The three simple steps of character creation are:
Background; Are you an ex-soldier? An assassin? A member of the clergy? Which faction do you belong to? What is your history?

Also, it must be fair. While, I will be the final judge on what is decided as OP or not, my most basic guideline is this- Can other characters react to your piece of tech/magic to prevent your intended outcome? If not, then your tech/magic is OP.

- One-liners will be ignored.
- Two-liners are discouraged.
- Three-liners are fine.
- Four-liners are most encouraged.

I'm in the middle of simple calculations for a more exact number. Right now, if the birthrate remains constant at 1.13% annually, the population will exceed 13 billion1.8 trillion people in 2500. Not looking so good.

All you need to do is slap on some chaff, attach some ammo boxes to the the saddle, plus some kevlar armour, and intsa awesome looking and effective fighting machine!

Plus, dragons do have the added bonus have literally being able to land anywhere. Furthermore, they can land at anytime and act as a ground vehicle. Granted they will be vulnerable to RPGs and auto cannons. (Depending on how thick their scales are.) But they have their keen sense of smell and eyes to detect said operaters before they fire.

Besides, imagine how awesome it would be if two dragon riders duel each other... with sniper rifle while still in the air!
