As the citizens of Rostrog and their newly elected leaders celebrated in the streets of declaring themselves an independent nation, the Army went to engage the Artitian Garrison at Fort. Hillmonte where 5,000 Loyalist soldiers waited to fight to the death to protect the interests of the Empire, Rostrog's General, General, William Coltony looked at a map of the small island nation and looked at the western tip where Fort Hillmonte was situated, it would take at least two days for the army to get to the fort to siege he thought, I will will send the air force to bombard it from the sky and hopefully win our first victory against the oppressive Artitians and show our new found allies that we are a nation that is able to fight and show them we are strong and united, Gen Coltony picked up the radio and ordered all available planes to strike at Fort Hillmonte, the war has begun it will take mainland Artite a week to send its Armies so they had plenty of time.

The Langock navy and Airfleet have been seen moving across the ocean to help the colony of Rostrog, 10,000 soldiers, 200 weaponized aircraft and 500 light landcruisers (tank-like vehicles) are underway, no sign of backing out, they show full intent to help Rostrog win independence. The total amount of troops should take about 5 days to arrive at the coast of Rostrog...

The garrison at Fort Hillmonte rushes to get the air batteries and SAMs operational and fortify the walls for an armored and artillery assault. The Fort's commander, LtCol. Harrigod Fletcher ordered that ramps be built up to the wall so that the tanks can position themselves along the wall also he ordered five fighters into the air to patrol the skies and to shoot down any air craft that does not divert away from the Fort, The men were scared you could see it in their actions for many this would be their first trial under fire, they busily built the ramps fortified the walls of the fort and barricaded the gate, the surrounding forest had been mined and was set now the troops would prepare machine guns along the wall 1 every 15 feet or so and positioned that the line of firing could cross into one another and have interlocking fields of fire a nightmare trap for any attacking army, now they waited.

This is General Dakouri of the Seraan Armed Forces. The Emperor of Seraa sends his best wishes and hopes you are ready. But that is not why i am contacting you. Seraan Support has sent the coordinates to Fort Hillmonte to the full fleet of Seraan AC-130's and are onroute to the Fort, ETA about a day. The Seraan Empire is offering Artite and olive branch with an Army at the end. With faster response time than the days away Artitian Armies. If you choose to accept our assistance, we will protect Fort Hillmonte and send the full might of the Seraan Military against Rostrog and Langock and crush them in the name of Artite, but if you do not, your Fort will be taken by Rostrog and Langock, further extending the process of this "Civil War". And if you ask why, we are willing to help you keep the Fort, well, we hate Rebellions.

LtCol. Fletcher received the message from Seraa and was amazed they were getting international help in this affair he quickly sent a message back to General Dakouri.

General Dakouri,

We will be grateful for this assistance in putting down this rebellion, we will try and hold off the air raids but you should send fighter escorts with your AC-130s I will keep my planes in the sky or whats left of them but I fear that we will not be able to provide cover for so many large aircraft and the fort at the same time, but thank you for the support and we will look for you on the horizon.

LtCol Fletcher looked over the message to make sure there was no errors and then asked the technician to send it. As he heard the first of the enemy fighters and bombers and later saw them on the radar he ran out of the tent he was in and shouted for every one to get to their stations any non coms (non combatants) were told to find a bunker and stay there until some one came and got them, just as the first bomber was about to drop its payload a SAM punched right through it there was flak and tracer rounds could be seen as the bombers were being shredded by the air defense of the fort but it was still not enough the first bomb hit a fuel truck it exploded into a fire ball and incinerated every one who was near it. LtCol. Fletcher was running to the wall to look out to see if the rebel army was following the air raid he heard the distinct noise from the fighters from the fort and that of the rebels and thought to himself at least our fly boys are in the air, the air raid lasted for three hours non stop bombing, afterwards the surgeon walked out of his make shift hospital with a casualty report, 243 dead 412 wounded 76 missing, Fletcher had despair in his eyes over 700 casualties on the first day hopefully the Seraans will be here soon

[Seraa]

A Secretary walked through the door....

General Dakouri, sir. We recieved a response from the fort.

What does it say? The Secretary then handed a piece of paper to the General and he read it over.

Deploy all of our naval ships. Make sure the Air Force is ready and get the Army ready to move with the Navy. We are going to war, The General said as he contacted the Emperor.

12 Dassault Mirage F1s quickly dispatched to escort the AC-130s. They will arrive in about a day. The Rest of the Seraan Military will arrived a few hours after the AC-130s

[Mossat]

"I am, Frederick. The natives are really putting up a fight down there. Maybe we should give them some asssitance in their attempts at independence?" Herszar's suggestion was a tempting one. The Mossacian military had been sedentary for some time now. There was a serious need to test new tactics and hardware in areas other than a wargame in a deserted part of the wilderness.

"Standard procedure, Chancellor? Screening for chemical, biological and nuclear weapons? Interdiction of outside influences, that sort of thing?" Mandreik asked.

"Indeed, Frederick. Indeed."



Letter from The Commonwealth of Mossat

To: Rostrog Government
Cc: Gen. William Coltony

To Whom it May Concern:

The Commonwealth of Mossat has taken notice of your efforts for independence, and we wish to extend to you a helping hand. If you so desire, we will provide military aid in the form of supplies, hardware and manpower to assist in your growing fight. It is doubtless that there is a difficult battle ahead, but the military forces of the Commonwealth of Mossat will be there to help you all the way.

We will also provide for you screening against any sort of weapons of mass destruction which may be used against you, particularly those delivered by ballistic missiles. We have the full capacity to intercept these weapons and defend you from any threats which would bring indescriminate harm to your people.

A runner came to Gen Coltony and gave him an envelope that had been opened by some Rostrog politician, in it were two papers one from the Governor of Rostrog and the other from the Government of Mossat, the one from the Governor said that Coltony was to advance on the Fort before the enemy reinforcements arrived and that he should take the fort at all costs, the one from Mossat was a little more assuring they were going to get additional international aid. He saw the Fort in the distance smoke rising from it after the air raids now it was the infantries turn they would bombard it with artillery and mortar fire before charging at it, it will be a blood bath, thought the General and only a fool who sits behind a desk will ask a leader to capture it at all costs, if they did not take this fort then the war would be over before it even began, he looked at the runner and gave him the envelope and told him that he approved of the help from Mossat and to tell the Governor that he will wait for the reinforcements before attacking the fort.

[Artite]

When the Rostrog rebels opened fire in the Fort with their artillery it was a mad house soldiers running from fox hole to fox hole trying to find the cover they needed, and in response the Imperial Artillery shouted back with their own barrage it was like a boxing match between two giants one trying so hard to out gun the other. One of the howitzers took a direct hit the gun vanished in a cloud of red and brown as the gun turned into a deadly over sized grenade, LtCol. Fletcher manned the walls coordinating with the tank crews and self-propelled artillery on where to fire he shouted coordinates at the crews as the main gun and the .50 were spitting lead it was a nightmare that you would never be able to wake up to.

Far high in the sky, AC-130 Gunships have spotted the Fort and attempt to communicate to the Lt.Col.

Lieutenant Colonel Fletcher, this is Blackeye 1, we have visual on the Fort. We are sending a Laser Targeting System via hollow missile to the center of the fort. Clear all soldiers and valuable equipment from there. Missile inbound in 30 seconds.

This is Viper 1 of Mirage F1 Viper Force, beginning Arrow and Shield tactical drills.

[Langock]

Langock, after hearing about the skirmishes occurring, has sent messages to the rebels to fight defensively until the Langock Expeditionary Force (LEF) arrives in three days, where they plan to open up a massive offensive.
"We can't have the rebels die out before we get there...then our whole purpose for sending our men would be gone, and the whole ting would be a waste of time." says Langock's military commander Uglana Ortevsky.

[Rostrog]

The general got word to hold off the attack for three days until allied forces could land and help out with the assault on the fort, he was furious three days a lot can happen in three days they could counter attack, his army could be bombarded from the land, air, and sea and be annihilated, but in the end he obeyed and ordered his own men to begin digging trenches and fighting holes for the tanks he was determined to oust the loyalist scum from the fort and win a victory for Rostrog

As soon as the order was given, Viper pilots line up in V formation and drop AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles on the Rebel front lines, carving 7 fiery and destructive paths through Rebel forces.

Soviet heavy bombers pelt the rebels with high explosive bombs. Quickly following behind them, a small detachment of light bombers take out military targets that remain.

Almost immediately after the bombing, a division of Soviet infantry supported by armor engages the rebel's flank.

The radioman turned to LtCol. Fletcher and said

"Sir we, have incoming radio transmission from Seraa air forces, they are sending a hollow tube carrying some sort of laser thing to the center of the fort they recommend that we move all troops and equipment from the area" the radioman was rattled and dirty from the constant shelling,

"They are going to send a Laser Targeting System, not a laser thing, tell them we will do it and if they can help us with knocking out the rebel artillery that would be great because if they do not they will be landing planes under shelling" LtCol exited the bunker and looked into the sky and heard the AC-130s before he saw them, he was relieved to see such beautiful creatures in the sky, man made angels.

Blackeye 1 this is Bear 3 we have your last and are preparing to move everything that needs to be moved, please be advised though if you are planning on landing any aircraft I suggest you do it after you knock out the enemy artillery, how copy.

[Langock]

"Sir, we have intercepted several transmissions coordinating attacks on the loyalist forces, what are your orders?"
questioned a radioman onboard one of Langock's airships.
"Update the troops' orders, no one is to fire on another nation unless confirmed as loyalists or affiliates of the loyalists, we don't need a three way war going on in one nation fighting for freedom." sated General Uglana.

[Seraa]

Roger that, Bear 1 of Artite. We will initiate free fire on located artillery.

Blackeye 1 to Blackeye 2 and 3, initiate Unity fire on Rebel artillery forces.

All of a sudden, loud explosions ring out from 3 AC-130s in the form of a storm of explosive 105mm Rounds. Rounds hit like rain on the artillery positions, destroying all artillery and setting nearby woods, ground and troops on fire. Chaos appears to ensue in the Rostrog lines.

"Sir, we have intercepted several transmissions coordinating attacks on the loyalist forces, what are your orders?"
questioned a radioman onboard one of Langock's airships.
"Update the troops' orders, no one is to fire on another nation unless confirmed as loyalists or affiliates of the loyalists, we don't need a three way war going on in one nation fighting for freedom." sated General Uglana.

As the Seraa missiles and shells hit the area where the Rostrog forces were working men ran in chaos for suitable cover, the impact of 105mm shells tossed men and body parts into the air, it was chaos General Coltony and his army were taking completely by surprise they were not expecting an attack from the Artitian Loyalists like this, then he remembered that the loyalist had nothing like this in their arsenal, he ran to a radioman and wired the Air Marshall asking for immediate air support his men were being shredded on the front lines, just as he finished radioing the air force a shell exploded to the side of him throwing him thirty feet and making him smack a tree, he was knocked out for several seconds when he came to, the shelling had stopped the new enemies and theirs he had a ringing sound in his ear and blood was trickling from his ears and nose. He tried walking to where he was originally standing but there was nothing there but a crater where his CP was, the mangled bodies of the poor souls who didn't get out in time he looked around his men just as dazed as him, this is going to be a very long three days he thought.
