The Felbahn war of Reconquest (open, MT, Sign up thread IC)

Postby Felbah » Sun Dec 23, 2012 9:52 pm

The Felbahn empire once covered much of the world, with colonies in Tenter, Gorothia, Zerzeum and more. But then came a time of trouble. Brother fought against brother, and the war raged. The Socialist Faelb Union took power, and the whole of Felbah descended into darkness.
But a light shone at the end of the tunnel. For there was a man, who now goes by the name of Kaiser John I, who saved Felbah from its downfall. But at a cost. Felbah has now lost all of her overseas territories unless they were taken at a later date, and not even the Felbahn Homeland can come under the full Felbahn nation, with the city of Talingdad still under communist control. It is time for Felbah to liberate the rest of the Felbahn people from the oppressors! It is time for Felbah to be as great, if not greater than it once was!
It is time for war!

Rules:
1: No nukes. There's nothing I hate more than the idea of nuclear apocalypse.
2: No god modding. That's pretty generic, but I just want to spell it out.
3: The RP is strictly MT or PMT. NO FT!
4: Please try to make longer posts than just the average 5 second stuff. There's seriously nothing I like more than reading what other people do in an RP, and so make it detailed. Give your characters character.
EDIT: 5: No biochemical weapons!

That's pretty much it. Have fun, and see you in the RP.

I would like to see where this is going...., I've got a bit of IC to start off.

IC: Ezekiel Eustace II, Lord of the Mind Empire, Direct descendant of the Savior of New World and heir to a near Millennium of War and Prosperity for this great Empire of the Mind, was not quite sure what to do with this situation. In his 18 years of Rule over the vast mainland and many islands of his fathers and grandfathers and great-grandfathers and many other relatives of his territories, and of the wisdom and brevity which the people perceived him to have, he had not had to directly deal with such murky waters.

It is true that Felbah and the Mind Empire have a pact of peace and agreement, and that under the old monarchy there had even been the introduction of the Imperial genes into Felbah's throne, and an alliance in blood would be secured. However, that was an older time, under Bryce IV. Ezekiel's distant cousins were no longer the pretenders to the throne, instead this Kaiser John Talvarr ruled the land of Felbah. And, during Lotrabme's own concerns in other nations and regaining stability after the death of both Bryce IV and Lord Nathaniel, the nationstate of Felbah gone to war with itself, in a Communist-Monarchist split. Ezekiel had not met this new leader of Felbah and was cautious as to a course of action. It seemed that John I wanted revenge for the war, and wanted to conquer the Communist threat, but, Ezekiel was wary, for John I was not present in the days of the Wise Lord Nathaniel or of His Noble father. Therefore, Ezekiel would tread lightly, and begin diplomacy anew, in hopes of securing a new age of peace with Felbah, and hopefully helping the nation to regain its footing, as the Mind Empire most certainly had accomplished in the last century.

OOC: I would like to join this RP in hopes of a new Age of Lotrabme-Felbah alliance, or whatever may come out of this, after all, New Monarchs are on the Thrones.

To His Imperial Majesty, by the grace of god, Kaiser John I of the Kaiserreich of Felbah; I ask that you think long and hard on the words you use next as they may have far reaching consequences. Her Divine Majesty holds no ill will against you or your lands but She will not allow you to meddle in what she deems Her affairs. You have one chance to recant or war and destruction shall come to Felbah.

Saren Cari a'Dain
First Hand of the God-Empress

Saren sat at her desk holding the parchment in her hand.
"Is this right?" she wondered?
The thought scared her. It was not often that she second guessed the God-Empress's wishes, may she live for ever. But she knew this war would be pointless. Making threats to petty nations over some unknown island she had until last week never heard of. She shook it off. She would do her duty as she had before. Thirty long years she had served the current holder of the crystal throne and creator willing she would serve longer still. She called an aide, a young man named Hafnir, into the room.
"This is to be sent to Felbah right away. Be sure it is sent by an envoy of at least the third level, second would be better yet."
"Yes, Lady First. I will do it right away." Hafnir said as he took the paper from her hand.
She barely noticed him leaving the room, trouble brewing in her mind as she gazed out her large windows over the palace grounds.

The Kaiser sat at his desk, looking at the paper before him.
"Guillaime?" The Kaiser called for his prime minister.
"Yes, sire?"
"Bring up the file we have on Zaranth."
"Yes, Sire!" The prime minister calmly walked below to see the files. He brought up one file.
"Here sire! The document on Zaranth."
The Kaiser perused the document. He studied it hard, mumbling inaudibly every once in a while.
"Why do you ask, sire?"
The Kaiser paused, before saying, "We have been threatened by this nation. They don't want us to complete our glorious reconquest. Shame." He put the papers down.
The prime minister knew well the reason for the war. To unite all Felbahns under one flag and free them from Communist oppression. Also, to ensure the whole of Felbah major was under the Kaiserreich's control.
"Another nation to be tossed aside." The Kaiser mused
"Should I send back a letter?"
"Nay. See how they react to seeing the message."

"70 ships burned! And all of them carrying food rations or refugees from the conflict in the east. Is this Kaiser of theirs mad?!" Saren almost yelped as she crumpled the page in her hand. " He has no respect for the established rule of war. Bhaaaw, this is not the enemy we thought we were dealing with." It was not the first time today she had wished she was the God-Empress's truth speaker and not just a Hand. To have the ability to speak freely and openly without consequence, though in truth she could be more frank than most. " If they can hit us in our hearts and out stomachs then so can we. Contact Air Marshall Zamire, we will be meeting Her Majesty within the hour. She will have orders and we must be ready."

Arathelle Jaol Colavi a'Zarana sat in her war room surrounded by papers and files cluttered across large tables and shelves. Her generals and aides busily drafting plans or talking strategy. She was a brilliant woman raised from birth to rule. Had she been any other woman her demunitive stature would have beguiled her capable nature but she was not any other woman. She played with her long dark hair held in place by a cap of gold and rubies and thought, 'It is time.' she straightened her plaited skirts and rose. As she rose all activity stopped as everyone turned to face her, shame clear on those who were last to turn. "what have you devised for me?" said Arathelle asking no one in particular. "We must deal them a fatal blow and soon should we wish to not find out own throats cut and our purses missing." A middle aged man in a violet air mans uniform stepped forward and bent to one knee eyes facing the floor.

"Great One, as we speak bombers are destroying essential refineries and power producing facilities. We think they were warned as we had to change targets to avoid detection from their formations. It is not quit the blow you had hoped for but it will cause major logistical problems is the northwestern part of their nation."

Arathelle looked at the supplicated man not really seeing but also not really looking. "So I have been disappointed once today. Will i have reason to be again?" one again asking no one in particular.

A woman in tight fitting leather stepped forward and bowed like the man before her, "Highest, we have intercepted a train carrying the Kaiser's mother and his favorite nephew. They are not out of the country as of yet but in a secure location. His daughters were not on the train as we were led to believe. It is highly unlikely that they were warned and probably just a change in travel plans. Unfortunately because of the nature of the kidnapping increased security make another very improbable."

"Were their any deaths?" Arathelle asked addressing Saren her First Hand and not the woman prostrating on the floor before her.

"None." Replied Saren.

'Well it wasnt a total failure,' thought the empress. 'Had a member of his imperial house been murdered who knows what he would have done.'

"And what of the blockades," Arathelle asked, once again of her first.

"On their Way, with some of the outer islands already under our control. They have met very little resistance and i fear that is an indication of something we are as of yet unaware. Felbah does not lose territory easily."

"Saren you may continue your work." with that the room became an ant hill of activity. men and women returning to tables stacked with papers and communications. small quiet conversations here and there only just inaudible. Arathelle picked up her skirts and walked passed the man and woman still kneeling on the floor. She would not punish them. let their shame do it for her. She may have had a brilliant mind but she was not fool enough to think she could handle it all alone. she strode out of the room and into the corridor with her skirts swishing around her.

Addressed to the Empress of Zaranth,
Subject: about the attacks.
We claim innocence in these attacks! Felbahn forces have nothing to do with the attacks on your sovereign nation. We have reason to believe that you were attacked by the Faelb Union. Did you see any markings? This is not a Felbahn native strategy. You have our word that the Kaiserreich of Felbah would not do such a thing as this.
Also, your spies must be either dreadfully dishonest or absolutely misinformed. The Kaiser has neither a daughter nor a wife with whom he would get one. I would recommend a re-shuffle in the ranks of your intelligence.
Signed,
Daniek Fardoc,
Secretary of the Prime minister.

The Kaiser was pacing madly. Was he convicted of a crime he did not commit? Was the Union responsible? Or even worse, were there renegades in HIS OWN ranks? The Kaiser was furious. Then, he calmed himself.
"Guillaime?"
"You called, sire?"
The Kaiser paused. "Get me some Dröbis wine... Actually no. Not for two years yet. Get me a cup
of Tea."
The Prime minister motioned to a servant, who ran swiftly out of the door.
"So, what do we do, sire?"
The Kaiser paused. "We wait. See how things turn out."

Back at the Royal Palace, the Council of Ministers sat and disucussed this rise of a new empire. "We should let them conquer more land, we should take those lands away!" Said The Minister of Imperial Affairs. The Great Gotham, although sick, nodded. "I would like the Royal Empire to grow before I leave...how are the troops faring in the post-colonies" The Great Gotham said, then turning to the General of the Army. The General looked back, "Sire...all troops are returning back to their bases, it was an easy victory at all fronts." The General said. The Great Gotham looked pleased. "We will announce it soon." He responded. The Minister of War then looked up, "If all these men were victorious, then it'd be great inspiration for those who haven't yet fought. Our soldiers are war-hungry!" The Minister of Foreign Affairs then spoke up, "We can't just go around walking in and stealing land!!! They are going to try and stop us!" The room paused. All the minister were staring at the Minister of Foreign Affairs, including the Great Gotham. The Great Gotham then rose, "*clears throat We'll tell them that we'll invade for freedom, liberation and reunification! We will target specific colonies and when won, we will claim it ours! So let it be said, so let it be done!" The Ministers all nodded. They all voted for it except the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He felt that he'll be doing a lot more work to compensate such a battle.

We have received your plea for help! It is a shame that you had lost your land to evil socialists but afraid not! The shining light dost enter yet again! The Royal Empire knows what it is like to lose colonies to evil and we will not let it happen again to our ally. We are ready to send troops of large masses. As we are ready for deployment, we ask the Felbahn intelligence agency to relay any information as of now to aid us in this venture. We ask you to give us some information to solely attack a colony to ease your efforts. We also ask that you allot us a few military bases that are currently in your control for the large mass of troops we are sending. By looking at the intelligence already given to us, we assume that the green means this is what you've won back. If that is true we'll gladly fight, solely, for the freedom, liberation and reunification of Upper Standar and Cambeltia.

The Emperor saw the rising fires of conflict and confusion from Zaranth and new he had to act, as Felbah was on the watery doorstep of Lotrabmean territory. (I assume the nations are nearby.)

To: Kaiser John Talvarr I
From: The Emperor Ezekiel Eustace II of the Mind Empire

-- It is with great urgency I write to you, our nations in the past had an alliance but this power struggle seems to have occured without much interaction from ourselves. We are sorry we did not partake in it and saving your loss of territory, but the leaders of my nation from that time have passed, and minor instabilities in my homeland go a long way. Now that I have secured my own throne, I desire to travel to Felken and meet with your grace. One monarch to another, Kaiser I implore you to allow me to aid you, in whatever way I can.
- Sincerely, Ezekiel Eustace.

Immediately after having the message wired to Felken, Ezekiel went as fast as he could to an Airship to take there, one of the great Imperial Zeppelins. Using it, he flew as fast as he could to the Capital of Felbah. He stood at the Zeppelins prow. "Only 2 hours now." He said to himself.

Emperor Siegfried XVI was similar to Luthoria personified, old, weary, bitter, cynical man. Slowly lowering himself into his throne he listened to his daily report on the world. Most issues were simple, his fifth daughter would be made Viceroy of the new Luthorian colony, he would soon call for a general ceasefire in Neo-Germania, but one issue stuck out, Felbahn, a nation involved in the war in Neo-Germania was attempting to rebuild their empire, while Luthoria was attempting to build its own. He had decided that the Luthorian Empire should take an active role against Felbahn expansion if an agreement could not be reached. Thus the following ultimatum was sent to the Felbahn government.

The Luthorian Empire has recently begun carrying out expansion by forcing nations into subservience or annexing them outright, but has become worried about the idea of a Felbahn reconquest of their old empire. Thus the Luthorian Empire has decided to offer a fair ultimatum that could potentially benefit both states.

The Luthorian Empire is proposing a joint alliance. Both of our states will decides spheres of influence from which we can annex states, will agree to help each other in all military conflicts, offensive and defensive, and will dedicate a small force as part of a joint expeditionary force, which will allow us to easily kick off an invasion of foreign countries and allow our militaries to work more closely together.

Should you turn down our ultimatum, the Luthorian Empire will do what it must to protect its interests abroad, including declaring war on Felbahn to ensure the continued independence of their former colonies.

The Flight went smoothly as the Zeppelin approached the Isle of Makkan, looping around the city of the Island, the Zeppelin made sure to show its colors to the people who would see it, and also had its guns down in peace.
"Hopefully the citizens of Felbah can see that we mean peace and friendship in being here." said Ezekiel to one of the Squire-servants on board. The Zeppelin rounded the Isle and made a B-line for Felken.

Madeline, who had been sleeping on the trip, exited the Emperor and Empresses cordoned off part of the airship, which was nothing more than a cabin with a bunk and a small bed-stand table with a lamp. She came out to the observation railing to stand with her husband. "Coda came here once, with a procession of the old Imperial family of Felbah." "Yes, our missing cousins" said Ezekiel. "What are you afraid of, this Kaiser John sounds like a nice person at heart." She said happily to her husband who seemed stern and continued looking out to the sea. He looked back to her and burried himself in her arms, despite her being about half his width and 3/4ths his height. "My desire is to see Lotrabme safe. Felbah is our oldest ally outside of our Continent, and I only hope this Kaiser John wishes to uphold the peace between us." "Shh." she said to her husband softly lifting him up to his full stature and leaning on him holding him "I know why we are here and I know your wishes, thats why we are married, lets just watch the water." Ezekiel went to speak, but Madeline shushed him again and he remained quiet. One of the squires let out a light giggle at the scene of their divine Emperor being shushed.

The Zeppelin continued its Course to Felken, and signalled the Airport of the city to allow it safe landing, and to inform the Kaiser they had arrived.

Good greetings to you!
The Felbahn government would like to accept your ultimatum, and we hope that this alliance will bring continued friendship between our two nations.
If you wish for any expansion, then the Felbahn colony in Zerserum would probably be the only one which Felbah has no real claim to. If you wish to take it while we tackle the problems of Gorothia and Tenter, then we hope that the agreement can be mutually advantageous and beneficial.
Hoping to hear from you soon,

The Kaiser stood on the runway of the FIA. He turned to his prime minister.
"This is where the last Holy Emperor, the Emperor Ben I, God rest his soul, stood while waiting for the Lotrabmeans to arrive. It's tradition really."
"How do you know of this?" The Prime Minister asked.
"I was there. In the Black Guard. I carried the Felbahn flag." He smiled. He remembered the first meeting of Lotrabmeans and Felbahns, how they met on this runway.
"Let us hope that they don't ask for Dröbis wine."
The group let out a small chuckle, and then went silent as the airship came into view over the Felbahn cathedral.

We would be more than happy to take over the colony in Zerserum, and would like to offer military support however possible in the coming conflicts. While out hands are largely tied in other manners, we are able to dispatch our Third Jager Regiment (special forces pretty much) to assist in any conflict where I can assure you they will perform admirably.

"what is this fool playing at?" Saren wondered having just finished reading the Kaiser's missive. She was sitting at a desk in the God-Empress's apartments.
"you are always quick to judge Saren, maybe it is us who is being foolish." chimed Arathelle.
Color filled Saren's face. Even though Saren had known and taught Her Majesty as a child she increasingly felt she had out lasted her purpose.
"Do not be like that Saren, I can read your face. If I did not still trust your judgement I would have sold you to some prattling High Lady. Now what can we do to save this disaster?"
Moving from the desk to a nearby chair Saren said, "That is what I do not understand! Our information was flawless. Our contacts in Felbah must not be as securely in our control as we thought."
"They throw it in our faces blaming the Faelb. Does he think we do not know how his hands drift from pot to pot. I did not expect him to play his full hand but to be as clumsy as this?" Arathelle said sourly.
"Maybe he does not know," Saren voiced unconvinced.
"Any ruler who does not know that high ranking officials in his government are not only supporting but also directing a declared enemy has no business being in power. No, more likely he is using them as they are using him. It will end with the Kaiser a hero of a reunited Felbah while those "enemy" leaders find themselves banished to comfortable lives in overseas colonies." Arathelle paused to yawn, "I am tired, and we must prepare for the holiday. Send the Kaiser an envoy asking for terms, this war bores me."
"yes Highest one," Saren said rising to her feet. "I will see to it right away." She then bowed and left the room.

To His Imperial Majesty, while not a Christian nation it is customary for Zaranth to halt all hostilities over the Christmas holiday. As such we are offering a cease fire for the next two days. It would seem to us that there is the possibility that this conflict was entered into in haste. If terms are reasonable then we would be inclined to listen and create an environment of peace and understanding, if not then we stand ready to resume once the holiday has passed.

The Zeppelin waded over the runway after passing through the cove to Felken. It softly touched down as a door on the side opened with a small stepladder dropping to the ground. Two yellow robed squires jumped out onto the ground and put two small railings on either side of the stepladder as two well dressed and armored figures stepped out.
In golden Armor and crimson cloth the Emperor Ezekiel Eustace II stepped out of the zeppelin. He carefully made his way onto the runway from the blimp, his dirty blonde hair shown with a white streak down the left side. Once on the ground he then turned and extended his hand to the Silver armor and blue clothed woman stepping out. This was the Empress Madeline, her raven hair shown in the midday sun. Other yellow robed squires hopped out after their monarchs as the two began their approach to John.
With stately presence of mind and body they strode up the runway to greet this new Kaiser. Their armor had a form similar to that of the 16th century, but in much lighter design. On the Emperor's golden chest-plate, a Shining Sun was visible, on the Empresses Silver chest-plate, a glowing moon, both celestial bodies had much baroque design to them. Indeed the cloth under the armor was laden in plantlike designs. Behind the monarch a troup of 14 of the Squires followed, 7 behind each monarch who marched equally.

They stood infront of Kaiser John, and to him they bowed their heads, with the squires behind them bowing on one knee. Raising their heads, Ezekiel extended his hand to the Kaiser. "Your grace, John isn't it?"

Okay. Let's do it on this thread, just for simplicity, as it's technically already an RP.

Obviously much has changed since last Lotrabmeans arrived, but we hope that some manner of stability is currently in place. We shall help you maintain it of course if you desire our aid. This airship is fit for combat and shall be the first of our ships to aid you in defense should it be required." The Kaiser looked into the Emperor's eyes. "Yes, you may. Come this way, we shall take you by car to the palace."
The group entered the limousine. The Kaiser began to speak to the imperial couple.
"I suppose you were told about the old cathedral? Yes, in the Communist regime, it was razed. Not a scrap left. We are only beginning to rebuild it, but it will never be the same. Tell me, do you remember the Felbahn regent Arras Nouvak? Nice man. I served with him, but during the Communist insurgency, he was assassinated by a man now residing in Talingdad city, Communist occupied Duschon. Do you remember dealing with him?"
