A new King for the Kingdom(Closed)

[The Floor Kippers]

It had ended the way it shouldn't have. On November 23rd 2032 Queen Aldred the First, loved by the nation, was killed. Her killer an evil Dragon Goddess, returning to take control of the planet after several thousands of years of Absence. But even in her victory the Goddess learnt that her victory was a hollow one. The goddess killed herself, to be with her opposite, her mate, and to save the Planet.

Those events and the destruction they brough left several Thousand People with out homes and several Thousand more without Power, water or heat. It also left the nation without a Monarch.

The next in line for the throne, Prince Matthew Lambert decided that the official coronation would be held back until the spring of 2033, so that there would time to repair all damage and so that the River Bel Would be fully thawed. A Date was set, Announced in the Prime Minister's Fesive Message as the 19th of April.

The Date came around, the preparations had all been made, invites sent out, Guests were to arrive at St Benton's Cathedral by 10 am, the ceremony to start once all had arrived.

After the crowning Ceremony the new king would proceed up the River Bel to Beeching House, followed by a flotilla of civillian craft, after that all guests would be invited to a party at Beeching House.

The first to RSVP was Tajen, on behalf of the Entire extended Imperial Family of Warhaven. Of course, his son, Crown Prince Pondera, had had the Warhaven Military assist with rebuilding after helping fight off Gallifrey and her forces, so he was anxious to see how it all had turned out.

Word traveled slowly to the Holy Technocracy, but when invitations did arrive the bureacratric strata funneled it, as ever, to where it was needed to go. The response message in turn clinically empathized with the loss of the Kingdom, and a declaration of rapport via representative - The Dean, on behalf of the Divisional Counsel and the united will of the Technocracy.

[The Floor Kippers]

Sir Nigel Griffin, the Prime Minister of the Glorious and United Kingdom of The Floor Kippers was stood at the doors to the Cathedral, Greeting guests and directing them to the people who were taking people to their seats. For once in a very long time Sir Nigel had forgone his usual Attire and was suited in black, even his usual hat was nowhere to be seen. On the other side of the door way stood his deputy, Thomas Pertwee, also suited up and also greeting guests.

"Ahh, Emperor Tajen, welcome back to The Floor Kippers" Nigel said Warmly as Tajen Approached "How is the Family?"

When Thomas saw a Familiar face approaching he broke into a huge grin.
"Well, well, well, Sir Franklin Stein. There's a face I'll never forget" He said

[Warhaven]

Cara stepped out from behind Tajen.

"Their doing just fine. Children being what they are, we left the two oldest on the throne to watch the three youngest Jezeel and Charlie are doing great, and from what I've heard, their children have discovered the fun of breathing fire." Tajen said.

"It is a face few do," acknowledged The Dean, body as usual covered by the enormous concealing cloak and hood he wore, "How goes the Pertwee dynasty?"

Cara stepped out from behind Tajen.

"Their doing just fine. Children being what they are, we left the two oldest on the throne to watch the three youngest Jezeel and Charlie are doing great, and from what I've heard, their children have discovered the fun of breathing fire." Tajen said.

"Sounds like Poor Charlie and Jezeel will be discoverng the joys of fire extinguishers" Nigel Chuckled

"It is a face few do," acknowledged The Dean, body as usual covered by the enormous concealing cloak and hood he wore, "How goes the Pertwee dynasty?"

"Well, thanks to you" Thomas said "Sally Is at Home looking after the three children. We had triplets, Victor, Susan and Franklin."

"Nahh, Jezeel's crafty, Ray's craftier. She purchased some of his anti-fire charms and placed them appropriately." Tajen said.

[New Amerik]

"Ahah, very good," The Dean chuckled with what may have been the hint of a chuckle, "So the dynasty will grow. I must admit, that was always among one of my...concerns. It was a very experimental procedure."

He gestured to his robe. "I have brought my own...progeny."

[The Floor Kippers]

"Nahh, Jezeel's crafty, Ray's craftier. She purchased some of his anti-fire charms and placed them appropriately." Tajen said.

"So they can rest easy" Nigel said, "And How is Delta Doing?"

"Ahah, very good," The Dean chuckled with what may have been the hint of a chuckle, "So the dynasty will grow. I must admit, that was always among one of my...concerns. It was a very experimental procedure."

He gestured to his robe. "I have brought my own...progeny."

Thomas Chuckled
"Really? If anything We thought you might have some how cranked up her fertility."

The Dean stared at him blankly for a second, before bringing a mechanical hand to the fold of his robe.

"Ah...I was perhaps not specific enough. My children did not...being a leader has it's risks."

He lifted the fold of his robe slightly, just enough to reveal a dark mechanical gleam and two blue electronic lights shining out from within. A small hand made of twisting lines of steel, amerikeum, titanium, and rubber snaked out and grasped The Dean's hand, and in response the Divisional Leader let out a small sound, a staccato clicking underlaid with a soft mechanical whir. The hand slipped back inside, and The Dean once more laid his robe back into position.

"He was and remains shy, and residual emotions over the resurrection and biomechanical preservation still linger. I would not leave without him, and the others would not deny my requests."

"Delta's doing fantastic. Learning everything she can so that she can advise future rulers." Tajen said.

"As a Robe? How Curious, not seen that before." He said

"You never cease to amaze me Dean" Thomas said "I thought I'd seen it all with the resurrection"

"Delta's doing fantastic. Learning everything she can so that she can advise future rulers." Tajen said.

"She's certainly come one, a far cry from the ball of attitude she started out" Nigel said

"There's a brilliant scientist, Dr. Yamato Nasagori. He thinks he can build a superior A.I., but he's still a ways away from trying to do it. Maybe in a few years." Tajen said.

"Ah, Mr. Pertwee, the two are not so different. A combination of my own...augmentations, combined with the resurrection process. The next step is the war on death, the full recovery of a person given an intact brain and ideally spine, even if the rest of the body..."

The Dean trailed off, then let a third appendage physically and metaphorically wave away that line of conversation. "But enough about that. We are here for different matters...one of which is to extend our regrets as to the loss of your monarch. We were perhaps limited in our contact with the Queen, but our studies placed her as a strong and good ruler...perhaps even near to a benevolent tyrant in her own right, though of this we know nothing."

"We would have a gift to bestow upon her remains later, if we may. Not the gift of life, but a gift of regret and remembrance."

Tajen chuckled.

Tajen chuckled.

"He's done strange crazy things." Tajen said as if that explained everything.

"Haven't we all?" Nigel Chuckled

"He might actually use R.I, instead of A.I." Tajen said.

Cara cleared her throat.

"Ahh, yes. One of our painters in Warhaven got inspired and painted Matthew a gift. A portrait." Tajen said.

He pulled it out of a dimensional pocket.

It had Matthew, crowned king, standing on top of the front steps of the palace looking both kind and generous, yet Regal and Imposing. At the base of the steps was his sister and her dragon companion.

But that wasn't all. There was a secret easy to miss unless one looked closely. Behind Matthew, were the ghostly images of his parents Aldred and George looking at Matthew with pride and confidence. The rising sun behind the palace symbolising the dawn of the new era finished the painting off.

It was signed by the artist in the corner, and its quality was the equal of the great artists of history.

Princess Adela i Maia Alassëyeldë Itarildë Tinúviel Maeethia Mûrabêth nos-Alcedina, Grand Duchess of Saralain, had travelled alone to the Floor Kippers as it had been a long time since the princess had been able to enjoy some alone time without elders and cousins all over her. She had dressed simply in a sindar grey robe over a white gown, and with only a golden chain around her shoulder signifying her high station and rank. Arriving fashionable late, more so due to engine difficulties aboard her plane than any deliberate intent, the princess arrived at Saint Benton's Cathedral just ten minuttes before 10 am with her retinue of servants and retainers in tow.

The Dean nodded, pulling his cloak tighter around him as he flowed into his seat, hushing his son and otherwise remaining silent.

Simon and Nigel took their seats at the front on the left hand side as Princess Adela was shown to her seat on the right to the front.

And just in time as the choir began to sing Handel's Zadok the priest as Matthew entered the Cathedral and proceeded down the Isle to the throne at the front, dressed in the various robes of the ceremony, Underneath which he wore his Royal ceremonial military Uniform.

As the Choir finished their song Matthew seated himself on the throne. The Cameras of the Nation's Press was turned on this event, outside the public waited to see their new monarch crowned.

A Bishop dressed in a patchwork robe of many colours entered and stood at a lectern. This was the Sixth Bishop of Whovos.

"Honourable Leaders, Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to this coronation. Today we are to see a new Monarch take the throne and take this nation into a new era. The Aldredian Age is over, today begins the Matthewian Era" The bishop read from his book, he paused as he turned a page.

"I suppose many of our guests from other places wonder how our royal family got to it's position. The Book of History carries that story, which I shall now read, as is tradition."

As he said this two men dressed in robes carried the book out, a curiously thick leather bound volume, and laid it on the lectern.
The bishop opened it and began to read,

"And lo the people did see the land that their brave explorers had found and it pleased them to see what a green and pleasant land it was. The soil was fertile, the river was plentiful and the sky was clear.

Those three brave brothers, Crefaid, Sortep and Geore, who set out so bravely to find a new and safe land for their people, were heralded as heroes and their chieftain bestowed the highest honours on them for their daring. A calm like no other settled over the settlers and they busied themselves with forming their new homes and farming the land.

But a tragedy befell them, as the journey had taken it's toll on the already weakening chieftain who passed on to the great unknown without leaving any children to be his heir.

This caused a rift in the settlers as a great many came forwards to be the new chieftain, some were just after the power while others wanted to take the position to do good. The settlers descended into fighting. After many pitched battles the final three remaining candidates for chieftain were the brothers, Crefaid, Sortep and Geore. They did not wish to fight and kill each other and had in fact fought against opponents together, so they decided to come to an arrangement.

The brothers Crefaid and Geore would take a third of the settlers each, go to found their own lands and become Chieftains. Sortep, the eldest brother, would stay and be king of this land and of the new lands founded by his brothers, so that there would be no disputes over lands.

So the brothers parted ways and went on to found the nations of Bearing, Stepforth and The Floor Kippers."

The Bishop closed the book.

"Sortep's blood runs through the veins of Matthew, like it did with his mother and all royals who came before her" He said "The three nations of Bearing, Stepforth and The Floor Kippers did not unite under the same name until the Union Act of 1901"

A scroll was carried out the 7th bishop of Whovos, he was considerably shorter than the sixth bishop and his robes were dark brown.

The sixth bishop took the scroll and the seventh bishop exited as the sixth bishop unrolled it and crossed over to Prince Matthew.

"Repeat after me" The sixth Bishop said "I, Prince Matthew Colin Lambert"

"I, Prince Matthew Colin Lambert" Matthew repeated

"Swear by the blood of my family line that I will be a good king"

The Sixth Bishop rolled up the scroll, and motioned for Sir Nigel, Spiridon and A female Draco Sapien dressed in robes covered in magical and scientific symbols to come up and stand with him.

"Do you, the chosen representatives of the Government, The Dragons and the Magical community, accept this man to be your king and pledge your loyalty to him"

"I, Sir Nigel Griffin, Elected representative of the people and of the Government of The Glorious and United Kingdom of the Floor Kippers, accept this man to be king on behalf of the people, and I pledge our Loyalty to him, for as long as he lives" Sir Nigel said

"I, Spiridon, Alpha Dragon of The Floor Kippers and Alpha Supreme of The Dragons of the world, accept this man to be king and pledge him the loyalty of dragonkind" Spiridon said

"I Jenny Flect, Master Mage of Energy and Leader of The Master Mages of The Floor Kippers accept this man to be king and pledge the loyalty of the mages within his borders" Jenny Said

The sixth bishop nodded

"You may be seated" He said, and the three of them returned to their seats.
As they sat the Coronation jewels were brought out, One orb, one sceptre and one crown.

"And so we come to the final section of the coronation" The Sixth Bishop said, picking up the orb. He turned and placed it in Matthew's left hand.

"This orb represents the compassion you must have as a king" The Bishop said, turning back and picking up the sceptre.

Once again he turned and placed it in Matthew's right hand.

"This sceptre represents justice, which you must balance with compassion when you do your duties" The Bishop continued.

There was a pause, Matthew held his arms absolutely still, keeping the orb and Sceptre level.

The Bishop turned and picked up the crown.

"And so, in the name of the thirteen incarnations of Whovos, in the name of the people and in the name of your ancestors I crown you."

He Placed the crown on Matthew's head

"King Matthew Colin Lambert the First"

A great cheer went up from outside the cathedral as with a fanfare, God save the king began to play and the congregation began to sing.
