Were pleased that our request was meet with such open arms by your government as for most of our history the Commonwealth's standing policy on Commerce has been one of restriction and protection hence our initial observer status. However, with the slowly thawing of our isolationist tendencies, the Commonwealth has become more inclined towards closer integration with the wider world economy.
